The inspiration for the book came while speaking to a supporter of the ministry he leads.  The support said hearing about the ministry of ServeNow gives me hope. That planted the seeds for a book about hope.  Ben has been a pastor and is now the head of ServeNow who's mission is to share Christ’s passion for the world by serving the most vulnerable through national churches and leaders.

Her ministry and business was inspired while on a missions trip when she visited a brothel.  Today Shema has partners producing clothes in Cambodia, Nepal, and soon they will be adding production in Indonesia. Workers making the clothes were formerly part of the sex trafficking or are from marginalized communities.

Wayne Pederson interviews Christy Becher a Children's pastor at Calvary Church in Roseville, Minnesota. Becher shares her how families have had to adapt to the new normal. Our world is increasingly divided, critical and unkind. Her childhood was a horrible tragedy: dysfunctional family, sexual and physical abuse from her father, unloving mother. After graduation she ran away to the big city.  There she lived the street life: promiscuity, hopelessness and thoughts of suicide.  Through all that, in the middle of the night, she would hear a voice saying: I love you. Later she would discover it was God’s voice Then, through the witness of Christian friends, she received God’s love and Christ’s forgiveness.  Out of deep despair and sinfulness, God allowed Julie Woodley to Experience Hope. Today she pours out her life ministering to women who have experienced sexual abuse, abortion and human trafficking.  Hear the amazing, touching story of Julie Woodley on Experience Hope.

No question about it. The Middle East is the Epicenter.  It’s the beginning of civilization as we know it. And we know from the Bible that the great climax of history is in the Middle East, especially Israel, especially Jerusalem. Wayne Pederson just returned from a week in Israel, visiting churches, ministries, both from Messianic and Palestinian backgrounds. The political tensions, the threats from outside, and the collision of the Christian, Jewish and Arab cultures all play into an interesting dynamic. Yet, it the midst of all this, the church in Israel is Experiencing Hope. Wayne explores these dynamics in this week’s Experiencing Hope podcast.

Wayne Pederson has “walked through the valley of the shadow of death”. From that experience he has tasted and tested God’s promises about the great things we can expect after we die.  There’s the sure promise of the amazing presence of God as we pass from this life to the next. We will receive new bodies at the resurrection; and our amazing eternal life with Jesus forever. 

Willi was brought up in a fine Christian home. But when she left home as a young adult, she wandered in the wilderness far from God. God interrupted her life with divorce, broken relationships and cancer. Now she knows Jesus personally. Her story is one of forgiveness, redemption and restoration.
