Today, on Karl and Crew, we wrapped up our weekly theme, “Hope Rising,” with conversations about how we find hope in every aspect of life. Lana Silk joined us to share what’s really happening in Iran during the ceasefire, why it is concerning, and how believers are holding onto hope in Christ despite intense persecution. Lana is the President and CEO of Transform Iran, with over 20 years of experience in marketing and a passion for helping voices be heard. Born in Iran and educated in the UK, she has also served in ministry as a worship leader and college chaplain with a focus on youth and mental health. We then had Dr. Winfred Neely join us to discuss the danger of spiritual plateauing, the call to keep growing in Christ, and finding true hope in Jesus rather than in our own feelings. Dr. Neely is the retired Vice President and Academic Dean of Moody Theological Seminary and serves as Professor Emeritus of Old Testament, Biblical Interpretation, and Preaching at Moody Bible Institute. He has pastored several churches in the Chicago area, served as a missionary pastor to Senegal, and teaches globally through ministry and conferences. He is the author of “How to Overcome Worry – Experiencing the Peace of God in Every Situation.” We then turned to the phone lines to hear from our listeners. We asked the question, “Do you have a time recently where you’ve plateaued in an area spiritually, and the Holy Spirit showed you what needed to change?” You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme, “Hope Rising,” with conversations about how we find hope in every aspect of life. Today, we focused on the hope, joy, and peace that come from trusting in God, based on Romans 15:13. J. Warner Wallace joined us to share how applying cold-case detective skills to the Gospels reveals compelling evidence for Christianity and a hope that is grounded in truth. Wallace is a Dateline-featured cold-case homicide detective, bestselling author, and national speaker. He is also a Christian apologist, Senior Fellow at the Colson Center, and adjunct professor of apologetics at Talbot School of Theology, Gateway Seminary, and Southern Evangelical Seminary. Learn more at Cold-Case Christianity. We then had Jill Savage join us to share how unrealistic expectations and misplaced hope contributed to deep disappointment in her marriage, and how holding on to hope in Christ led to healing and restoration. Jill Savage is an author, blogger, international speaker, and leads the ministry Hearts at Home. She also hosts the “No More Perfect” podcast and wrote “No More Perfect Marriages: Experience the Freedom of Being Real Together.” We also had some fun with “Ally Thinks It’s Funny.” You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. Send us a textWe know it is happening out there, but we may be surprised to hear that trafficking affects the girl next door. Sex trafficking is happening in every state, including right here in Arizona.Sarah Buchanan, founder of Hope Rising AZ and a 16-year law enforcement veteran who served on the human trafficking unit, says there's a critical gap in services for survivors. Arizona currently ranks 13th in the nation for sex trafficking—“… yet Hope Rising Arizona is now the only restorative care sanctuary for sex trafficking survivors south of Phoenix”.As my friend and Executive Director of Hope Rising, AZ, Andy Thomas shares, 80% of women who don't receive care will return to their abusers. The need for safe, restorative spaces couldn't be more urgent. In this episode, you're going to hear the story of a survivor, her name is Selena—She seemed like the girl next door, yet nobody knew that abuse and exploitation at the age of 8--- would set her on a trajectory to entrapment in the commercial sex industry, with no way out. This episode isn't for children or the faint of heart, but it is essential listening. Selena's story will open your eyes to what's happening in our own backyard—and you will see how God has reclaimed Selena's story; she has been rescued and restored. You will also hear about ways to protect your family and how you can be part of the solution.Stay connected with the work of Hope Rising AZFacebookHope Rising Arizona info@hoperisingaz.comPROSPECTIVE RESIDENT HOTLINE: (520) 895-1511 8am - 5pm, MTFight the New DrugHere are two FREE Ebooks for you! 1.
