Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. Waiting for a giant, dramatic calling can feel spiritual, but it can also keep us passive. We sit on our hands, hoping for a microphone, a title, or a once-in-a-lifetime assignment while the holiest work of our lives is already happening at the dinner table, in a marriage, on a job site, in a classroom, or in a simple conversation with a friend who is barely holding on. We explore a different way to think about calling: commission as recognition, the Spirit opening our eyes to what God has already entrusted to us. We ground that shift in Scripture and in a deeply practical theology of everyday discipleship. Colossians tells us that whatever we do can be done in the name of Jesus and unto the Lord, which breaks the false line between sacred and secular. If we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, then God's presence moves with us. That means workplace ministry is real, parenting is kingdom stewardship, friendship can carry healing, and marriage can become a visible testimony of grace through forgiveness and sacrificial love. We also talk about why heaven values faithfulness more than fame, and why ordinary obedience often becomes the loudest sermon. Near the end, we ask pointed questions that make this personal: where has God already entrusted you with influence, what “ordinary” assignment have you underestimated, and what could change if you lived like God can show up at any moment. If this message helps you see your life as a kingdom assignment, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find it.Support the showwww.Turning180.com

Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. Your life might already be the calling you keep asking God to reveal. We build this message around “recognition” and “commission” not as a launch into something flashy, but as a clear-eyed realization that God has already placed influence in your hands through relationships, responsibilities, and everyday opportunities. Drawing from Acts 20, we talk about finishing our race with joy, even when obedience costs something, and why “none of these things move me” is a mindset worth chasing. From there we get painfully practical: Colossians 3:17 and 3:23 give us a simple rhythm for Christian living, whatever you do, do it in the name of Jesus and do it wholeheartedly unto God. That turns workplace ministry, family life, and hidden service into real kingdom work. We push back on the church myth that only pastors, missionaries, or platform people are “called,” and we ask the better question: not “Do I have influence?” but “How am I stewarding it?” We talk about parenting as discipleship, marriage as ministry, and friendship as stewardship of grace, including a moving story from driving a city school bus that shows how deeply kids recognize love and respond to steady care. We also hold the tension between global mission and local faithfulness, because the mission of God is both. If you're ready to stop waiting for a “big calling” and start treating ordinary faithfulness as holy, listen through to the commissioning invitation. Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. Chains, tribulation, uncertainty, and still Paul says yes. We start with Acts 20 and sit with a question that refuses to stay theoretical: what do we do when following Jesus costs us comfort, control, and a carefully protected life? We're talking about kingdom vision, not as a slogan, but as a way of seeing that changes what we ask for, what we pray for, and what we're willing to endure. We use a simple camera zoom image to expose a common pattern: living zoomed in on preference, safety, and personal fulfilment. That mindset easily turns church into a consumer choice and faith into comfort maintenance. When we stay self-focused, our prayers get smaller, our risk tolerance disappears, and our impact fades. Kingdom vision does the opposite. It pushes us to zoom out, to ask what God wants to do through our lives, and to recognise that Scripture constantly ties one surrendered “yes” to the wellbeing of others, from Abraham and Moses to Esther and Paul. Then we bring it all down to street level with practical discipleship: integrity at work, excellence when nobody requires it, serving with intention, and leading at home with honesty and courage. We talk about how spiritual leadership is happening either way and why ordinary obedience repeated over time can echo for generations. If you've felt the nagging thought “there has to be more than survival,” this is your invitation to see the bigger picture. Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. Chains and tribulations were waiting for Paul and he still moved forward, not because he loved suffering, but because he refused to live small. That moment in Acts 20 sets up a challenging idea: many of us are not held back by failure, we are held back by comfort. We talk about what it means to “zoom out” and see our lives the way God sees them, with purpose, mission, and a long horizon that stretches beyond our own preferences. We use a simple camera metaphor to get practical about Christian discipleship and spiritual formation. When we live zoomed in, church turns into a consumer choice, prayers shrink to personal maintenance, and faith becomes a tool for convenience. Kingdom vision asks better questions: What does God want through my life? Who is waiting on my yes? What kind of life is actually worth giving my life to? Along the way, we name the fear-driven culture of self-protection and contrast it with the bigger biblical story of Abram, Moses, Esther, and Paul, where obedience creates ripple effects that outlive the moment. This also gets specific about daily leadership: choosing excellence when culture normalises minimum standards, thinking in terms of legacy and multiplication, and treating time, money, relationships, and service as resources for the kingdom of God. We end close to home with spiritual leadership in the family and the power of ordinary obedience repeated over time. If you're hungry for purpose, direction, and a faith that reaches beyond comfort, press play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the conversation.Support the showwww.Turning180.com

Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. “Chains and tribulations await me, but none of these things move me.” Paul's line in Acts 20 is a gut check for anyone trying to follow Jesus with real endurance. We take that same courage and bring it into everyday Christian leadership: not the kind that talks about vision, but the kind that moves with it. Because a bleedable vision is never just a motivational idea. It's a calling that changes your calendar, your priorities, your relationships, and the way you make decisions. We wrestle with a phrase that sounds harmless but can hide a deeper problem: “I'm waiting on God.” Sometimes we're not waiting at all. We're resisting movement. We talk about why obedience opens doors and why stagnation quietly drains purpose. We name the real blockers that keep people stuck: waiting for certainty, overthinking every detail, fear of failure, and fear of stepping outside comfort zones. Then we offer a better definition of failure that keeps you moving: failure is quitting, not trying and learning along the way.The turning point is Acts 8 and the story of Philip on the desert road. God doesn't hand him a full blueprint. He simply says “Go,” and Philip discovers the assignment while he's moving, right down to God providing water in the desert for baptism. We end with a challenge and a prayer: be available, because someone else's breakthrough may be connected to your yes.If this encouraged you, subscribe, share the episode with a friend who feels stuck, and leave a review so more people can find it. Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. You can love Jesus, believe the calling is real, and still whisper, “I'm just tired.” That's the moment we're naming and confronting: the middle stretch where the vision hasn't changed, but your energy has. Using Acts 20:22–24, we look at Paul walking straight toward hardship with a settled heart, determined to finish his race with joy and to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. From there, we get painfully practical. We talk about endurance you can actually live out, starting with the everyday picture of a mother who keeps loving through rebellion and disappointment, and the kind of patience it takes to serve people when you're not getting instant reward. We also unpack why many people don't walk away from God in a dramatic moment, they drift slowly from spiritual exhaustion, emotional fatigue, and the weight of routine. We name the real costs of discipleship and Christian leadership: giving up control, comfort, preferences, your sense of timing, and the approval of others. Then we sit with Jesus' words in Luke 9:23 and the often-forgotten word “daily,” defining endurance as sustained obedience without emotional reinforcement, faithfulness when outcomes are delayed, and continuing when clarity fades but the calling remains. We close with four practices you can start now, plus a hopeful picture of God weaving even the dark threads of your story into something beautiful over time. If you're in a waiting season, fighting burnout, or trying to stay faithful to your calling, press play and come back to these anchors. Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. Chains, uncertainty, and pressure are guaranteed in life, so the real question is what keeps you moving when the cost gets real. We sit with Acts 20:22–24 and Paul's fierce clarity: he walks forward knowing suffering awaits, yet he's determined to finish his race with joy. That kind of joy is not hype and it is not denial. It is what happens when the gospel of the grace of God becomes more precious than our own comfort, control, or safety. From there, we get painfully practical about vision and calling. I share my own pattern of getting excited about “new and doable” ideas, then watching motivation fizzle out, and why that reveals the difference between personal preference and true conviction. Then Malawi puts a face on the word “need.” Clean water wells stop being an abstract project and become a daily line of buckets, a village searching for water, and a ministry we cannot casually walk away from. Love does that. It makes the mission stick. That's where the phrase “a bleedable vision” comes in: a God formed burden you refuse to stop, even when it costs time, predictability, approval, and comfort. We connect that to long haul ministry like Celebrate Recovery, where endurance is proven in staying when it is hard, unclear, and unrewarded. We close with questions you can use to test what drives your decisions and a simple prayer for surrender. If this challenges you, share it with a friend who feels stuck, then subscribe and leave a review so more people can find the conversation. Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. Chains and tribulations are not the kind of forecast most of us want, yet Paul walks straight toward Jerusalem with a clear aim: finish the race with joy and stay faithful to the ministry Jesus gives. We sit with Acts 20:22–24 and ask what it looks like to “lead your life” as a disciple who takes responsibility for direction, choices, and endurance instead of drifting with fear, comfort, distraction, or culture. From there, we get painfully practical: vision must move. We talk about the difference between saying we are “waiting on God” and actually resisting change, and we name the quiet killer that can look spiritual on the outside: stagnation. You will hear the line that keeps echoing through the message, “Obedience opens doors, stagnation never will,” along with a challenge to stop demanding a full blueprint before taking a faithful step. Courage is not the absence of fear; courage is movement despite uncertainty, so sometimes the most honest next step is simple: do it afraid.A story about learning to drive brings the point home: you cannot steer a parked car, and you cannot steer a parked calling. Then Acts 8 turns into a case study in active faith as Philip obeys God's small direction down a desert road and discovers the real assignment while he is moving. We close by widening the lens to mission, outreach, and serving, because people matter to God and our yes can ripple further than we will ever see.If this challenged you, subscribe, share this with a friend who feels stuck, and leave a review. Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. The most dangerous place for your faith isn't the beginning, and it isn't the big crisis moment. It's the middle, when you're still doing the right things but you feel tired, unseen, and unsure it matters. We talk straight about burnout, drifting from exhaustion, and the quiet way a God given vision can erode when nothing seems to be happening. We connect Paul's words about finishing the race to real life endurance: sustained obedience without emotional reinforcement, faithfulness when outcomes are delayed, and continuing when clarity fades but the calling remains. Along the way, we name what following Jesus actually costs us: control, comfort, timing, and approval. We also dig into Jesus' command to take up the cross daily and why “daily” changes everything for discipleship, purpose, and spiritual maturity. Then we get practical. We break down the three pressures that crush perseverance: internal fatigue, external resistance (including distractions that look like good opportunities), and invisible delay. We also share four ways to endure: reduce the vision to daily faithfulness, re anchor in calling rather than feelings, build sustainable rhythms of renewal through prayer, Scripture, community and rest, and refuse to interpret God's delay as denial. If you're questioning your calling because the fruit is slow, this will re steady your heart. If this encouraged you, subscribe so you don't miss what's next, share it with a friend who's in the middle, and leave a review to help more people find the show.Support the showwww.Turning180.com

Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. A vision can feel inspiring right up until it asks something from you. We start with Paul in Acts 20:22–24, heading toward Jerusalem with no promises of comfort, only a steady warning of chains and tribulation and still he says, “none of these things move me”, because he wants to finish his race with joy. That tension sets the stage for a deeper question: how do we follow Jesus with endurance when the path is costly and unclear? We tell a real story of how abstract problems become personal when you see faces and names. Malawi is no longer “needs somewhere overseas” but people we've eaten with, prayed with, and grown to love. One well becomes a lifeline for thousands, and then the request comes for a second well, forcing an honest confession: we can't easily say yes with limited resources and we also can't say no. That is where purpose and mission stop being theory and start reshaping priorities, giving, and leadership. From there we define what we call a “bleedable vision” and we draw a hard line between preference and conviction. Preference fades when it gets inconvenient; a surrendered calling stays when it gets resisted, when it costs more than expected, and when nobody claps. We share the long-haul cost of ministry through Celebrate Recovery and ask the questions that matter: What drives your decisions? What have you walked away from too easily? What matters to God that needs to matter to you?If you're hungry for Christian purpose, discipleship, leadership, and a faith that holds under pressure, press play. Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. If you've ever said “God, lead me” while quietly hoping He won't change your plans, this message is for you. We sit with two anchoring Scriptures Acts 20:22–24 and John 10:27 and ask a single, uncomfortable question: can my life actually be led?We talk about the difference between living reactively and living led. Reactive living lets pressure, fear, convenience, and the next open door make our decisions, and then we ask God to bless whatever we picked. Along the way, we tell a real story from the journey of launching and relocating Celebrate Recovery: one leader responds with hesitation, another responds with readiness, and the contrast exposes how easily “I'll pray about it” can become a mask for resistance. From there we get practical about hearing God's voice. Stillness is not optional, because you can't follow a Shepherd you never slow down to listen to. We dig into why surrender comes before vision, why obedience matters more than endless evaluating, and why Jesus being Lord confronts our need to control timing, cost, and outcomes. If you want clarity about purpose, calling, and direction, we point to the overlooked pathway: routine Scripture, quiet prayer, and quick obedience in the small things. We close with a legacy check: do your values and your service line up with what you hope people will say at your funeral? If not, it's time to realign. Subscribe for more messages on spiritual formation and discipleship, share this with a friend who feels stuck, and leave a review so more people can find it.
