We find out who's more tolerant, Pat, Tom or Cody?   Pat's getting a new dog which means coming up with a name.  He got some great tips including what NOT to call it.  Where you can go if you really want to have fun on St Patrick's Day, and the college entrance scam run by a Sacramento man had some very famous and public foreshadowing.

The Oscars ratings were up!  Did it have anything to do with the fact that there was no host?  And our Big Question was about the Oscars.  It was 2 years ago today, Feb 26th, 2017, that one of thee biggest Oscars flubs happened.  Do you remember it?  Cody almost got kicked out of a local establishment for doing something very simple that was frowned upon.  We asked whether or not you'd ever been kicked out....where and why?  We were flooded with responses from basketball games, to school, to restaurants and even Costco!  How in the world do you get kicked out of Costco?  Natalie, you're on!

A car dealership in Sourthern California may have gets not just the poor taste award but also most insensitive (or as Tom likes to say, they're tone deaf).  We have that story today along with an amazing story that will move you from loyal listener Kristen.  She's from Chico and was at the Chico Walmart when the fire just started to spread.  What she saw and how it was handled is terrifying and amazingly good at the same time.  More specifically what evacuated familes need and with the CMA's tonight (8pm on abc10) Luke Combs story of how he almost met Tim McGraw at last year's CMA's is hysterical.

Our air remains unhealthy and that's what's closed both Sac State and UC Davis today.  The list of what Camp Fire evacuees are most in need of is way more focused than yesterday.  Pat and Tom find out that their boss's favorite band is doint something really cool for firefighters and first responders tonight at the Golden 1 Center.  And in today's Good Stuff, incredible stories of sportsmanship and over the top generosity involving two high schools from Paradise.

If you have a sore throat you're not alone.  All of this smokey air is causing cold and in some cases flu-like symptoms.  Cody is trying to get over the flu anyway so this is not helping BUT these things are so minor compared to what over 52,000 evacuees from the Camp Fire are going through.  So many great ideas came rolling in this morninig on ways to help.  Our favorite came from Caren in Roseville. Both Pat and Tom are taking her idea and acting on it.  We hope you can to!

We spent a lot of time today talking about, taking phone calls about, and trying to help the evacuees of the Camp Fire in Butte County.  The town of Paradise is basically gone....can't even imagine that.  Many people who were forced to leave have little or nothing to go back to (when indeed they are allowed to go back).  Many of them are in hotels in Yuba City, Rocklin and Roseville....and when those get crowded Sacramento.  Tom and his wife did a great thing.  They paid for a night for a family that evacuated and are now at a Rocklin hotel.  Pat is dropping gift cards of to hotels that have people who have evacuated.  Whatever you can do to help, thank you!  If you need ideas check in on our facebook page at  kncipatandtom.

Several times this morning we talked about and updated the tragic shooting that happened last night in Thousand Oaks and a Country bar.  Tragic, senseless, beyond sad.  The officer who lost his life and Matt Wennerstrom who broke a window and helped dozens escape are heroes.  Keep officer Ron Helus, his family, the victims and their families in your thoughts....and hug your loved ones.   Pat and Tom went the extra mile to help an important station event and were given gift certificates as a way of saying thanks....that expired!  Anything like that ever happen to you?  Devin Dawson is asking for your help, a Chicago restaurnat has a unique way of celebrating the 15th anniversary of the movie "Elf," and Pat and Tom have solid proof the big brother is indeed listening....to everything!

It's election day and what we most want is...that sticker!  Did you get yours?  If you did plesae take a picture of you with your sticker and post it on our fb page.  Pat was elected school president in 6th grade (promising to upgrade desserts for lunch), Cody ran for class treasurer and Tom was elected to a unique position!  Blake Shelton is no longer People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive...how did he react?  And Pat and Tom made a bet.  It had to do with Round Table Pizza.  One of them has to pay off....in public!

First, I have to apologize.  Today's podcast is only about half of what we did today.  We had some technical difficulties not on the air, but when retrieving audio.  Which means we missed the conclusion of Cody's missingher plane from France to London, Tom's awesome audio of Garth talking about the influence of the band Queen, and Pat's funny "almost field of dreams" moment with his son.  We do have why you might want to put up your Christmas tree early, an idea on how to improve I-5 and a celebrity sighting that wasn't that happened right across from the IMAX theater Friday night.

Did you have a lot of trick or treaters?  Jackie in East Sac said she had 2,000!!  How do you even buy for that many?  Both Pat and Tom had very few BUT they've come up with an idea on how to fix it.  Three little trick or treaters that hit Pat's house were amazed at getting full sized candy bars and one of them, a 3 year old, had a great take.  Orangevale's Devin Dawson is doing a really cool thing to help education in music and if you're gonna throw a beer during a parade make sure it doesn't hit anything....like a priceless trophy!

It's Halloween!  What are the hottest places around Sacramento to Trick Or Treat? We have the list.  Tom remembers a not pleasant Halloween and a listener who used to live in Fiddletown has a great story that involves a bear coat, a hat, some teenagers and and an axe (nobody got hurt but a couple of someones needed a wardrobe change!).  And, tips for tonight when the kids comes to your door.  Happy Halloween!

Ever forget a password?  Frustrating!  Thankfully there is sometimes a help desk you can call or email.  But how much of a help are they really??   There are 2 types of people:  those who like candy corn, and those who hate it.  Today is national candy corn day and we found out something that changed one of our opinions of candy corn.  Will it change yours?  Tomorrow is Halloween and we found the most haunted places around Sacramento.  Bet you've been to at least 1 of them.  A 3 year old belts out an iconic rock song and she's actually pretty good! .
