Born and raised in Arkansas, Evan grew up playing drums at his dads church in Fort Smith. He was the kid that would sit behind the drummer during church and soak in every detail and nuance. Once church let out, he'd jump up on the kit and play, until the next church service started a few hours later. Evan got his first drum set at the age of 8 and began serenading his whole family and neighborhood with punk rock beats and the sounds of the radio. After touring the country with his band The Exception, Evan decided it was time to move to Nashville, TN and attend Middle Tennessee State under the direction of Lalo Davila and Tom Giampietro. It was in college where Evan honed his craft and wanted to become a studio musician. Years later and having played on multiple #1 songs on the radio, Evan is now an in demand studio drummer. You can hear his drumming with , Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Jimmie Allen, Ronnie Dunn, Keith Urban, Steven Tyler, Toby Keith, Matt Stell, Maddie and Tae, Tim McGraw, Lauren Alaina, Erin McCarley, Rascal Flatts and many other artists. Country star Jimmie Allen is opening up about this very dark period he faced after he was sued for sexual assault in May last year. His former manager dropped her lawsuit against him just last month, but she initially had him charged with rape. But in a new video shared on YouTube, Allen says in the immediate aftermath, he contemplated suicide as a means of providing financially for his family. Well, he said his life fell apart, he was dropped by his label, and had a number of business deals pulled, and he said, "I'm thinking to myself, how will I provide for my family?" Then it hit him, his insurance policy covered suicide. Believe me, most don't. But it turns out, a friend sent him a text, just as he was loading bullets in his gun, and it saved his life. The text said, "ending it isn't the answer." Well, we are certainly glad his friend was there for him. We're certainly glad Jimmie changed his mind and the lawsuit was dropped. If you know of anyone contemplating suicide, there is a lot of help and there is a suicide hotline. Caitlin Clark expected to sign lucrative eight-year endorsement deal with Nike Caitlin Clark is finally getting some real money for her basketball season. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Clark is expected to sign an eight-year deal with Nike, worth up to $28 million. And she's going to get her own signature shoe in the deal in the future. As you might guess, Nike wasn't the only sportswear brand that was interested in signing the basketball phenom. Apparently, Adidas, Puma, and Under Armour all had their hands in the pot, but Nike won it out. We're so happy for her and I cannot wait to see the WNBA with her playing and all the other girls that did so well this year. Diddy's associate's drug charges could spell further issues for music mogul Diddy's associate Brendan Paul has just been charged with one felony count of drug possession and it could mean more trouble for the rap mogul. Paul, a former Syracuse men's basketball player who worked as Diddy's main assistant, was arrested in March at the Miami Opa Locka Executive Airport. That was the day the feds raided the plane and found cocaine and marijuana candy. He was arrested and taken into custody at the time. By the way, that was the same day the feds raided Diddy's mansions in Miami and LA. Brendan is extremely close to Diddy and was privy to his goings and comings and he is now pleaded not guilty. His lawyer says the case will be tried in the courtroom and not the court of public opinion. Okay, good luck with that one. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

(OUTWEIGH) Singer/Song-writer Maura Streppa is Amy's guest today! Maura battled with an eating disorder for most of her life, but didn't realize it until she was a freshman in college. She started recovery over COVID and really used songwriting to help get through it. She wrote a song called “Skinnier” that comes out December 2nd and hopes it will help others feel less alone + encourage them to NOT think that life will be better if/when they are skinnier!! About Maura: There is a place where country meets soul meets pop. That sweet spot exists in the heart of singer/songwriter, Maura Streppa. Heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, John Prine, Amy Winehouse, Kacey Musgraves, and more, Maura uniquely and effortlessly creates a home for lovers of the old and the new alike. Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, Maura discovered her love for music at a young age. After a move from the city to the south lands of North Carolina, Maura found that her mother's piano keys helped her express her deepest emotions. It was from that moment on that she decided she wanted to share these cathartic songs with the world. Maura continued writing, singing, and sharing until the age of 18, when she was asked to play the Carolina Country Music Festival and to open for country music star, Jimmie Allen. It was in that opportunity that Maura became more sure than ever that singing country music for thousands of people was what she wanted to do with her life. She promptly packed her bags and made her way to Music City. Since making the big move to Nashville, Maura has been performing almost every single night, sharing her soulful songs with those who cross her path. She recently won Tennessee Songwriter's Week and made her debut at The Bluebird Cafe with her song, “Singer and The Song”. The eclectic artist has a strong conviction to create music with authenticity, love, and purpose and works hard to carry out that calling every day.
