Few bands have made as lasting an impact on bluegrass music as The Grascals. From the very beginning, their blend of modern traditional bluegrass, gospel, and country influences, matched with world-class musicianship and an unshakable love for the genre, has earned them a spot among the most respected and enduring groups in acoustic music. Formed in 2004 in Nashville, Tennessee, The Grascals are a band built on friendship, shared roots, and a common vision to create bluegrass music that honors tradition while forging its own identity. Their breakout moment came fast—within months of forming, they were hand-picked by Dolly Parton to serve as her opening act and backing band on tour. That early endorsement set the tone for the band's trajectory: respected by legends, loved by fans, and celebrated by the industry. Their debut album, The Grascals announced their arrival with authority. It won IBMA's Emerging Artist of the Year and Album of the Year and included a duet with Dolly Parton on “Viva Las Vegas” that showcased their versatility and crossover appeal. From there, the accolades kept coming with two IBMA Entertainers of the Year awards, three GRAMMY nominations, a Dove Award nomination and a host of other awards and recognition. Now with thirteen albums, performances all over the world and for two United States Presidents, The Grascals can truthfully say they have the best of both worlds — the steadiness of a veteran group that knows who they are and where they're going, and the excitement and energy of an ensemble that knows it still has something to prove. The band's collaborative spirit is another hallmark of their career. In addition to Dolly Parton, The Grascals have recorded and toured with artists including Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams Jr., George Jones, The Oak Ridge Boys, Patty Loveless, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Brad Paisley, Joe Nichols, Steve Wariner, The Jordanaires, Tom T. Hall, and more. Their respect for their musical heroes and peers has allowed them to build bridges between bluegrass and other genres, expanding their reach without compromising their sound. The Grascals are known for their ability to balance traditional drive with contemporary flair along with their authenticity, humility, and showmanship, The Grascals are a fan favorite on the festival circuit and are regular performers on the Grand Ole Opry with over 200 guest appearances. Their live shows combine technical excellence with emotional storytelling and a dose of humor, making every performance memorable. Now more than two decades into their career, The Grascals remain at the top of their game—honoring the past, embracing the present, and helping shape the future of bluegrass music. With a renewed spirit and zeal to continue to create and blaze new music trails, be on the lookout for much more to come from The Grascals.

Post Malone BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Post Malone has delivered one of his boldest weeks yet, capturing headlines across entertainment and fashion circles. On September 3, he's set to electrify Paris for the first time at La Défense Arena as part of his Big Ass World Tour—a landmark event drawing thousands, with ticket sellers anticipating capacity crowds and public transport urged to handle the influx. Fans are buzzing about his setlist, which promises both chart-toppers and recent country pivots. The concert boasts a special guest opener, heightening anticipation, while arena staff recommend arrivals from 5:00 pm to ensure a smooth experience.Just days before this career-defining show, Post made a splash in the Paris fashion world, debuting his new clothing label Austin Post Apparel at none other than Karl Lagerfeld's former mansion. According to FashionNetwork, Malone—known for mixing genres as freely as he does styles—delivered a collection rooted in authentic Western wear: think ostrich leather cowboy boots, buffalo coats, and star-embroidered denim, worn by both local Parisians and American cowboys. Whiskey Riff described the Labor Day launch event as an epic, cowboy-chic affair, with Post taking bows in head-to-toe blue denim before rave reviews and raucous applause. Insiders reveal he's plotting a pop-up in New York later this month but left fans guessing where exactly to buy the gear, saying, “that's a good question.”On the music front, his country album F-1 Trillion—recorded with Nashville's heavy-hitters and featuring stars like Morgan Wallen, HARDY, and Blake Shelton—is fueling a major transition for Malone. In a candid Apple Music interview, he spoke about moving to Nashville, finding a welcoming creative community, and feeling “happy, very happy” after slowing down and ditching L.A.'s relentless demands. Friends and collaborators cite his positivity as infectious, and PEOPLE has noted his ongoing public embrace of country influences, including performances with Beyoncé and Brad Paisley.Social media has been awash in posts tagging his Paris runway event and the arena concert's logistics, though verified accounts remain sparse on controversy—most echo the celebratory tone of his recent public appearances. Major outlets are already hailing his Paris stint and fashion debut as milestones that could redefine his image for years to come. If Post Malone keeps this momentum, both the music and fashion worlds will be recalibrating for the long haul.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

As Appalachians, we are mighty proud of Chris Stapleton, the 47-year-old Lexington, Ky., native who grew up not far from us in the tiny Johnson County town of Staffordsville in Eastern Kentucky. To date, Chris has won 11 Grammys, 11 Academy of Country Music Awards and 15 Country Music Association Awards.Besides that, he also has been named the ACM's Artist-Songwriter of the Decade, and not long ago Rolling Stone magazine included Stapleton among the “200 Greatest Singers of All Time.”Stapleton had written and/or co-written nearly 200 songs. He has six No. 1 country songs to his credit, including Kenny Chesney's “Never Wanted Nothing More,” Josh Turner's “Your Man,” George Strait's “Love's Gonna Make It Alright” and Luke Bryan's “Drink a Beer.” His work has appeared on albums by Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift and so many others.About This Stapleton SongHistory lovers also have always populated The Flood camp, so it's not surprising that this is our favorite Chris Stapleton composition.“Can You Run?” is set during the American Civil War and tells the story of a young slave pleading with his lover to join him for a dangerous dash to the Union line so that he can join “the freedom line of the Lincoln soldiers.”At one point in the song, he tells her: You know I hate to ask so late But the moment's finally come, And there won't be time to change your mind. Can you run?Click here to read more about this wonderful work. Our Take on the TuneThe Flood's current iteration of “Can You Run?” has been eight years in the making. Randy Hamilton brought the song to the band in the spring of 2017. He already had worked out the basic arrangement in his head, but it took a while to get the instrumentation just right. For instance, Jack Nuckols, whose drumming is so fundamental to this track, didn't arrive on The Flood scene until a couple of years ago, about the same time that Charlie Bowen began learning a bit of banjo, so that his five-string could provide a kicky little counterbalance to the sweet soloing by Danny Cox and Sam St. Clair.Happy with where the song has come, the guys are pretty likely to want to include it among the tunes they record on the new album they hope to start work on this fall. Stay tuned!More From Randy? Finally, if you'd like to hear more tunes that feature Randy Hamilton's vocals, check out the Randy Channel on the free Radio Floodango music streaming service.Click here to give it a spin! Three outdoor Georgia/Florida gigs with Brad Paisley in August , 90°+ heat, swampy humidity, and sweat everywhere. Normally, that's when strings go dead and feel sluggish, but my D'Addario XS coated strings didn't just survive, they crushed it.After all three gigs, I used the same guitar and same set of strings for two recording sessions, and they still sounded and felt fresh. In this video, I'll share how the XS strings handled brutal touring conditions, why they feel great even when the air feels like soup, and the wild St. Augustine show where lightning struck nearby, Brad's rig went down, and we had to keep the show rolling.https://truetone.com/To Support the Channel:Patreon https://www.patreon.com/AskZacTip jar: https://paypal.me/AskZacVenmo @AskZacSupport the show
In this episode of The Bandwich Tapes, I reconnect with my old Belmont University neighbor and longtime friend, Jeremy Casella. Jeremy and I first met on the third floor of Pembroke Hall, and after nearly 30 years, it was a joy to sit down and trace the threads of music, friendship, and life that still connect us today.Jeremy shares stories from his early days at Belmont, discovering artists like Béla Fleck and Brooks Williams, and crossing paths with classmates like Brad Paisley, while reflecting on how those formative years in Nashville shaped his career as a songwriter and performer. We talk about the folk scene of the early '90s, the influence of Phil Keaggy (who has since become a close friend and collaborator), and the ways great music can inspire new creativity rather than imitation. Our conversation also dives deep into the balance of being both a musician and a family man, and how perspective shifts as you approach 50. Jeremy opens up about what it means to leave a legacy through music, including his upcoming Christmas project, and how producing other artists has become an equally rewarding part of his creative journey.Along the way, we touch on coffee rituals, songwriting discipline, the craft of production, and the inspiration of producers like Daniel Lanois. This is a rich, heartfelt conversation with a friend who embodies both authenticity and artistry.Music from the Episode:Autumn in Kingston Springs (Jeremy Casella)Beauty Leads the Way (Jeremy Casella)Love That Will Not Let Me Go (Jeremy Casella featuring The Blind Boys of Alabama)On the Evening Train (Jeremy Casella)To learn more about Jeremy, visit his website. The band is back together as Brian returns to the recording studio and Richard has some ice cream tips for cannibals and a returning finger pain. He has a new pedal idea for a compact board and the guys tear him a new one...Meanwhile the Earthquaker story got on to the mainstream news and Blake uses a big word. Twice! There was big pedal news just before we recorded as pedal legend Bill Finnegan of Klon Centaur fame issued a legal statement via social media so the guys dig into it. This once again tuns into a new business idea that is legally questionable at best and then the guys develop the ultimate formula for podcast success. Brad Paisley had the Rick Beato treatment this week and Brian cannot hide his undying love for Brad and Vox style amps. It's time for One Funny Morning with special guest, Comedian Mike E. Winfield! A little more about Mike ... His comedy is refreshing & relatable in a way that makes him a comedic genius. Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Mike E. moved to California to pursue comedy & to escape the rough streets of Baltimore, remembering how he found a gun under his Mom's pillow as a child, & thought, “I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY TEETH TO FALL OUT.” The comedy scene felt natural to him & he embraced it raking up credits such as The Late Show with David Letterman, a reoccurring role on NBC's The Office, Brad Paisley's Comedy Rodeo on Netflix, an Emmy Nomination, & multiple movies in post production, one with the rapper DMX called PIMP. Somehow in the midst of rising to the top, he had to grow up quickly because he fell in love & married an older woman with a child. That was actually the problem, he wasn't ready to be a husband, so he made many mistakes within the marriage. He has since learned & developed a bond with his stepson, or as he calls him - “ StepMAN” - because they're close in age. He takes his ups & downs in his life & marriage & turns them into jewels he releases on stage. Mike is currently on tour and can be seen at the Vail Comedy Festival this Memorial Day weekend. Check out all of his tour dates and more at www.mikewinfield.com
