Happiness Solved with Sandee Sgarlata. In this episode, Sandee interviews Lexi Sidders. Lexi is a 22-year old country artist from Templeton, CA, who sparked the attention of music fans after being a top placing contestant at only 19 at the MyCollabStreet Singing Contest and then being recognized by Keith Urban in another contest to sing at his show. Even though she struggled with body issues and bullying throughout her youth, Lexi has used those experiences to power her into the outspoken advocate she is today, supporting numerous children's charities and helping to guide other young adults dealing with their own situations. Finding her own voice, Lexi moved to Nashville, TN to carve out her own path in the music industry. In between performing across the the country sharing stages with artists such as Russell Dickerson, Cheat Codes, Brandi Cyrus, MacKenzie Porter and Lindsay Ell, Lexi has been co-writing numerous tracks for other artists with some of the industry's top songwriters like Rob Pennington (Luke Combs, Chris Janson) and Michael Woodrum (Eric Clapton, Joss Stone). With the demand high to release new solo music of her own, Lexi just released during anti-bullying month her debut single, "Better Off (A Loser)", alongside award-winning mixer Billy Decker (Sam Hunt, Rodney Atkins, Dustin Lynch, Darius Rucker). The song helps support the Boo2Bullying foundation. When you produce acts like Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Weezer, Green Day, Pink, Rayland Baxter, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr., it's hard to find time for your own music. Yet in 2022, Butch Walker managed to release his 10th album, Butch Walker as … Glenn—a surprising tribute to the '70s piano-rock balladeers that were among the rulers of FM radio in his youth. Nonetheless, that didn't stop him from bringing a fleet of cool Fender and Gibson guitars, and a hemi of an amp, a Two-Rock Bloomfield Drive, on his recent It's About Damn Tour tour. For Walker, playing those guitars is something of a comeback celebration. In 2007, the house he was renting in Malibu from Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers caught fire and the Rome, Georgia, native lost the collection of classic axes he'd spent a lifetime accumulating, as well as the masters to every song of his own that he'd recorded. As Walker explains in the Rundown, it was a hard lesson about keeping up with insurance and making sure all his valuable instruments are covered—which they weren't.Today, he splits time in Nashville, where he's also built a new version of his RubyRed studio in the old Warner Music building, from the 1950s. As Walker said in a Facebook post. “There's been countless hits and amazing country and rock 'n' roll songs recorded here over the years. It smells a little funny. It's maybe haunted (hell, it was a morgue at one time). But I love it. It's got vibe for days, sounds incredible, and people dig working here.”So, dig into Walker's Rig Rundown, which we filmed in November at Nashville's Brooklyn Bowl.Brought to you by D'Addario XS Strings.

Today's guest is Mark Hill, Mark is at the top of the list for holding down the bottom end on recording sessions in Nashville. Clocking in for over 600 session dates a year, he's well past the 10,000 hours mark of mastering his craft over the past 32 years in the industry. Mark's head turning tone and deep pocket has earned him five nominations for ACM Bass player of the year. He's toured with artists like Reba, Martina McBride, and Steven Curtis Chapman. He held down the band leader roll for Keith Urban, and has collaborated on records with artists like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and pretty much everyone else. Mark's focus on delivering a mix ready tone is arguably at the top of his undisputed calling card for Nashville's top producers. However, he lays out so many golden examples of the skills beyond the instrument that go into becoming, and remaining a first call session musician. We're honored to have Mark on the show, and stoked to have you here to learn from his journey. Here we go! Born and raised in Baytown, Texas; Ty grew up with a passion for Blues, Southern Rock and Country Music. Influenced by the music of Darius Rucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Keith Urban, his strong vocals and smooth tone blend together for a new twist on country music that penetrates the soul. At 7 years old he began playing drums on his brothers drum set; he was given his first guitar at the age of 11 and immediately fell in love with playing it. During his high school years he participated in band as a percussionist, but inevitably his heart was drawn back to guitar when he discovered his talent for singing and entertaining friends. After graduating in 2011, Ty chose to pursue music as a full time career. He spent the better part of the last decade, playing lead guitar for various Texas Country artists. He honed his own singing and songwriting talent and gained experience at local venues and dancehalls across Texas, earning him the opportunity to play with talented artists such as Wade Bowen, Roger Creager, Mike Ryan, Adam Hood, Cory Morrow, Chad Cooke Band and many others. On June 12, 2020, Ty released his first EP of original music. On February 11, 2022, Ty debuted his first release to Texas Radio with the single "Fix Your Broken Heart" which reached Number #29 on the Texas Charts! His newest single, "Don't Care About It Now" was released on September 2, 2022 and is climbing the charts! Do upright fossilized trees demolish the idea of an old earth? Eric Hovind's Creation Today show welcomes Australian creationist John Mackay to discuss the so-called polystrate trees or polystrate fossils.I am personally completely swayed by anything said in an Australian accent. Doesn't matter if it's Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Keith Urban, Iggy Azalea, Michelle Jenneke or even Ken Ham.While Eric Hovind gawks, John Mackay argues that these polystrate trees are evidence that the world cannot be millions (or billions) of years old. I am so excited to have Leslie Page back, and today I am bringing my part to our dual-storytelling adventure. Have you ever moved through fear and had it not go as well as you'd hoped? Well, that's exactly what happened to me. It's a story of mishaps and embarrassments that in the end turned into one of the most treasured and meaningful memories of my life. It's my hope that my story will be bolstering to anyone who worries about perfectionism. Sometimes even a nerve-wracking turn-of-events can become a very empowering situation. Please laugh alongside me as I describe a time I moved through fear. As laughable as it all was, it did have an incredibly happy ending. If you happen to have missed last week, I think you will really love what Leslie shared. It's our hope that in bringing our stories of moving through fear, that we will all inspire each other to continue to be just a little bit braver. Once again, the human spirit is so beautiful.
