Veronique de Rugy discusses the cost of living, critiquing the administration's claims that Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper, citing the use of shrinkflation and item removal. She criticizes the proposal to send $2,000 checks, noting this Keynesian approach boosts demand, which, without increased supply, risks raising prices further. De Rugy advocates for deregulation and the elimination of tariffs (which she confirms are a tax) as the necessary supply-side solution to the affordability crisis. Guest: Veronique de Rugy.

HOUR 1 What's fueling the surge of cancer across America's Midwest—and why won't the media name the most controversial suspect? In this gripping episode of Rush to Reason, John Rush, Dr. Kelly Victory, and Steve House expose alarming cancer trends and ask: are toxins to blame—or something far more recent and widespread? Dr. Kelly reveals evidence linking “turbo cancers” to spike proteins found inside tumors, while John and Steve question why the medical community stays silent. When proof threatens power, who decides what the public gets to know? Meanwhile, a buried $600 billion Big Pharma lawsuit reveals how PBMs have quietly controlled drug prices for decades. Could new technology finally break this monopoly—or has corruption gone too deep? Don't miss this explosive conversation that connects hidden lawsuits, rising cancers, and the fight to uncover the truth. HOUR 2 What happens when unlicensed, illegal truck drivers hit the road—and who's really responsible when things go wrong? Why did Denver come so close, yet fall short, in its bid to host the 2030 Gay Games—and what does that say about the city's political and cultural identity? Then, former President Trump makes a shocking move: ordering the Pentagon to prepare for nuclear weapons testing for the first time since 1992. What's behind that decision, and what message is it sending to the world? And finally—what would you do if you won $2 billion? One California man is using his winnings to buy up properties lost in the L.A. fires. Is it rebuilding or opportunism? HOUR 3 What drives a New Yorker who despises billionaires to throw his support behind socialist candidate Zorhan Mamdani for mayor? Is this a glimpse into the future of urban politics—or a warning sign for the rest of the country? Meanwhile, the CEO of Walmart takes on George Stephanopoulos over the real cost of Thanksgiving dinner this year—so who's telling the truth about inflation? And in a bizarre twist, how did an AI system mistake a bag of Doritos for a gun? What does that say about the technology shaping our everyday lives? Then—California's SEIU union is pushing a new ballot measure: a 5% wealth tax on billionaires, retroactive to 2025. Could this start an exodus—or a revolution? Plus, emergency funds for SNAP and a local race that hits close to home—Steve Altschuler is back in the running for Longmont City Council.

We're highlighting one of Hilton Head Island's most meaningful traditions: the Hilton Head Island Community Thanksgiving Dinner, hosted each year at Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks. What started in 1999 as a way to bring neighbors together has grown into a cherished event that welcomes over 1,000 guests each year. Volunteers from every corner of the island come together to share the day with others, ensuring that no one spends Thanksgiving alone. The Community Thanksgiving Dinner has become a true reflection of what makes the Lowcountry special—hospitality, generosity, and a deep sense of connection. Andrew Carmines, the owner of Hudson's, and Lesley Kyle, one of the organizers of the event, join us to talk about the history and mission of the event.

We know the grief of being separated from loved ones. When distance or circumstances make it impossible to be physically present with those we love, letter writing, phone, or video are no replacement. We know something is wrong if one would prefer to eat Thanksgiving Dinner on a video call instead of at the same table. Zoom calls are no substitute for family reunions. As this age moves away from the physical world and more toward digital connectivity, it is all the more important that we consider the essential nature of face-to-face fellowship in the local church. This Sunday we will return to 1 Thessalonians and consider God's purposes for our face-to-face fellowship. I invite you to read 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13 in preparation for worship. We will consider Paul's separation from the Thessalonians, Timothy's mission to encourage them, Timothy's report which encouraged Paul, and Paul's prayer for reunion with them. Take time to meditate on this text and pray for the work of God's Word in us as we come to worship Him this Sunday.Discussion & Response Questions for 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:131. As you look back at this Sunday's Scripture text and sermon, what were some of the takeaways? What did you find helpful or encouraging? What questions do you have?2. What does this text reveal to us about the character and work of our Triune God?3. What does this text teach us about separation and reunion? (2:17-18; 3:11-13)?4. What do we learn about joy and fellowship? (2:19-20; 3:9-10)? 5. Describe Paul's concern for the spiritual welfare of the Thessalonians. What might it look like for you to share in this kind of concern for your brothers and sisters in Christ?6. Consider the nature of afflictions. How did Paul prepare them for affliction? What are temptations of affliction? How does one remain steadfast?7. What does biblical encouragement look like? How does Timothy encourage the Thessalonians? How do they encourage Paul?8. What is irreplaceable about face-to-face fellowship?9. Consider the closing words of this passage (vv. 11-13), and the language connected to the return of the Lord (2:19, 3:13). What should our fellowship lead to?10. How should we respond to this text?

This week's blogpost - https://bahnsen.co/4mrbGcG The Patience Premium: Distinguishing Stock Market Investments from Casino Bets In this episode of The Thoughts On Money podcast, host Trevor Cummings and guest Blaine Carver delve into the common misconception that the stock market resembles a casino. They discuss Carver's recent article 'The Stock Market and the Casino,' highlighting key points such as the importance of having a long-term investment perspective, the role of setting proper expectations, and understanding risk premiums. They compare the consistent historical growth of the stock market to gambling odds, explaining that while the stock market may feel volatile in the short term, it ultimately favors those with patience and a long-term outlook. They also underscore the financial and psychological benefits of maintaining a diversified portfolio and keeping an optimistic viewpoint regarding market investments. The conversation includes an interesting case study about the long-term value gain of the Los Angeles Lakers compared to general stock market investments, emphasizing the power of compounding returns. Pink Martini is celebrating 30 years of global music, and for the band’s pearl anniversary, China Forbes and Timothy Nishimoto dish on oysters (get it?!), the group’s unusual origin story and Thanksgiving dinner. It may be March, but thanks to lead vocalist China Forbes’ last meal, we’re talking turkey! China is very particular about which seven dishes should appear on her Thanksgiving table, so host Rachel Belle consults with a food historian about what was eaten at the very first harvest feast. Pink Martini is a Portland, Oregon-based band, but they sing in 30 languages and have played with more than 70 orchestras in the world’s best concert halls – which means they have eaten their way around the world!
