Project's 52 Podcast is a life-changing project.
In this conversation, I sat down and talked to my friend and brother, Saya Samuel, about his childhood and his composing journey. He was born and raised in a Christian family, but God called him at a really young age. He has dedicated his life to serving the Lord, and God is using him in many ways, especially among the Burmese community church.
In this episode, I had the privilege to sit down and talk with a good friend Yin. He's young and on fire for Jesus. He serves as a youth pastor in his local church.what is it like to lead without a blueprint? the struggle of being a youth pastor.
Benefits of being single“You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.” Ecclesiastes 11:9 NIV“ Some people don't know they are alone in their relationship “ You get a Space for yourself travel anytime Stay in touch with friend You are being able to focus ( study
Life lesson from the master “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:2-3 NIVfocus our eyes on Jesus There are many thing that could distract we are foreigner ( just traveling to earth
Restoring broken fellowship Relationships are always worth restoring “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:”2 Corinthians 5:18 NIVRelationships are always worth restoring “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”Matthew 5:9 NIVBe a peacemaker / not a troublemaker Jesus is a peacemaker ( between men and God ) 1. Talk to God first - God can change your heart or the other person will change while you talk to God. - David was being transparent with God - God's in control ( he's able to turn it around ) - “Why do you fight and argue among yourselves? Isn't it because of your sinful desires? They fight within you. You want something, but you don't have it. So you kill. You want what others have, but you can't get what you want. So you argue and fight. You don't have what you want, because you don't ask God.”James 4:1-2 NIRV 2. Always take the initiative - be the one who will start first - “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,”Matthew 5:23 NIV - “leave your gift there in front of the altar. First, go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:24 NIV - time won't heal it ( it will only get worse ) know the best time, moment 3. Sympathize with their feeling - listen to the feeling ( use your ears ) 4. Confess your part of the conflict - “You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.”Matthew 7:5 NIV - both have problems ( apologies, be the one who likes to take the blame ) - fix your problem first 5. Attack the problem and not the person - not personal, your tone, - surrender, use the best word - “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29 NIV 6. Cooperate as much as possible
Recently the supreme court pass the law to overturn roe v wadeMy opinion doesn't matter people will have their opinionMany ideas come out of experience/ tragedy I do believe that the Bible has the final authority What does the bible say about abortion? Jeremiah 1:5 ““Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.””Jeremiah 1:5 NIVEvery child is made in the image of God. Genesis 1:26-27 Hate me or love me: I simply want to say that abortion is cold-blooded murder Example. When Issac was wife Rebecca was pregnant. She went to the Lord and ask what was in her womb. “Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord. The Lord said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.”” Genesis 25:21-23 NIVWhen you aborted a baby you aborted a nation. if Moses was killed there won't be a delivererIf Jesus was killed there won't be a savior Satan wants to destroy ( the plan of God)
The word mentor is huge in the business realm. At the same time, the Bible state, " As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." ( Proverbs 27:17) Even as a believer, we need a spiritual mentor, they will help us in many ways. Apostle Paul was mentored by Barnabas, and his mentee is Timothy. This is a model in our spiritual walk, someone who pours into us and someone to pour out to. In this episode, I provide three reasons why we need spiritual mentorship1. Spiritual mentor will give us a guidance 2. Spiritual mentor will provide a wisdom 3. Spiritual mentors will protect us and help us to be disciplined.
Your friend can determine your future. "One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." ( Proverbs 18:24).Your friend can determine your future. You can choose 100 pennies over four quarters. Or you can choose four quarters over 100 pennies. The amount is the same. I would rather have four faithful friends than a hundred friends. Stick with a friend who will help you in your struggle. Never sticks with a friend who wants to take an advantage thing over you. They are considered fake friends. They are there for what you have, which means when you are no longer good at anything, they will leave you. I love the friend I have in ministry. There is a saying that goes, "nothing is more fun than doing ministry together with your friend." I love it, and I totally agree with it. Find a friend who loves you enough to tell you the truth even when it's painful.
I had the privilege of sitting with Saya Hon Pi and we've talked about life, ministry, the risk, and the reward. Saya Hon Pi is a great leader and had served many years in ministry to advance the kingdom of God. He had devoted his life to Christ and served him wholeheartedly. His wisdom of leadership is unique and one of its kind. Enjoy!
Esau's journey would have been different if he didn't stay too long in the field. That's is the strategy of our enemy. He will pull us away from the course of our calling. We are pretty like Esau; we would keep giving an excuse not to read his word and spend time with him. Little by little, we found ourselves in the mass ocean and lost. By the time we decided to return, it was already late. Esau demands instant gratification without knowing the consequence. He was full, but he didn't realize that he had lost his birthright. When we feed our flesh to enjoy temporary pleasure, there are many other spiritual blessings that we are missing out on. Never trade your future blessing for temporary satisfaction.
In this life, we will face many trials and temptations. What matter the most is who we are pursuing. Many people are pursuing the thing of the world. Some people seek love without seeking the creator. Some will pursue happiness through their flesh. We first must seek the kingdom of God, and all things will be added to us. Our first priority is to pursue the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Without having a kingdom of God, all thing is worthless. Nothing can make us complete without having Jesus Christ in our hearts. When we first have Christ in our hearts, the thing will become worthy. Our life is incomplete without having Jesus in our hearts, and he alone can complete us. Zacchaeus was a chief tax collector and a wealthy man. He must know that wealth does not complete him.No matter what circumstance comes our way, nothing can stop us from pursuing Jesus. Zacchaeus was a short man and as well as a chief tax collector. He desires to know who Jesus was, but he didn't expect to have dinner with Jesus under his roof. Despite being short, that didn't stop him from reaching to Jesus through the crowd. He climbs a sycamore-fig tree, trying to see who Jesus is. He embraces the opportunity of meeting with Jesus, which saved him and an entire family. Jesus enters Jericho in Luke 19 and was arrested in Luke 22. If Zacchaeus let the crowd stop him, then he would have missed his opportunity.
8 lessons to learn from the life of Esther you don't have to let your past determine your futureShe has a mentor God's timing is perfect She first kneel to the heavenly king before she went to stand to the early king there isn't such a thing as luck/coincident but God's providence Even when the situation is impossible God can always turn it around Esther lives up to her name Esther establish a spiritual legacy
Have you been hurt by the church? ==> I'm sorry if the church hurt you ==> church is for those who follow Christ ( they are not perfect) ==> Don't focus on the church, focus on christ ( he's ahead of the church) As a church, we forget the big ego "I" and shift our focus to " WE." What church is vs. what church is not The church is not a place of therapy - It's the place they speak the truth - sometimes the truth hurt ( it isn't going to bear a bitter fruit but sweet) - it's a medicine ( it will heal our heart) The church is like a life-saving boat, not a vacation luxury yacht - It's true we need a place to be happy, but with a purpose - When we see ourselves as lifesavers, we will humble ourself - sometimes you have to step aside from your emotion The church is like an organism, not an organization - where we meet regularly, love one another, help one another, and pray for one another. connect to one.
Mess to Messenger We don't have to let our past determine our future. Mary Magdalene was a demon-possessed and followed Jesus right after he cast out the seven demons off her. When everything seems dark and hopeless, she chooses to wake up to go to Jesus's tomb in the morning. She doesn't need to do that, but she decides to go. She was with Jesus early in his ministry until they laid his body in the tomb. Follow him no matter the cost because the reward is always more prominent than the cost.
Everyone was created unique and special in the eyes of God. You weren't created by accident but with a purpose. God has a purpose and plan for you. You may wonder how you be still unique when there are 7.9 billion people in the world. Don't worry. God is really good at dad; he called each star by name and knew the number of our hair. "He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name."Psalms 147:4 NIV. Just think about it, there are 200 billion stars in one galaxy, and there are 100 billion additional out there. You are unique, and you do have a unique strength. Question to ask when trying to discover your strength What are my top 3 qualities of strength? What do you do every day? What do other people think you do? What do other people say about you? and what does God say about you? What do you like to talk about? What's one mistake you keep repeating?
6 ways to invest in yourself today 1. Build a spiritual foundation ( pillar, foundation ) A tree
Calling come with a cost. It was never meant to be free and easy. It will take your time, energy, and money. But in different scenarios, it might even cost your life. You can run from God, but you can't hide from him. know who you are called by and answer the call.
Be yourself Have you ever felt like you don't like yourself? Any insecurities? God wants us to be ourselves, which is the uniqueness that he created us. There are 7.9 billion people in 2022 ( you are the only one of its kind). The definition of uniqueness is the quality of being the only one of its kind. Every single person on this planet earth is different. Our fingerprint, our face, our ability. we are his fingerprint. ( even identical twins are not similar, their behavior and fingerprint aren't the same.) God uniquely creates us in a way where we are the only kind. Some are short, have blue eyes, and some are left-handed. God created us with unique gifts and talents. “Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8 NIV). Since you are unique - you don't have to compare yourself with other Since you are unique - you don't have to let others determine your value and future
The power of prayer Prayer is beyond a religious event; it's a personal relationship between God and us. Prayer is like a passport, you are a citizen of the country, but you can enter another country through a passport. Prayer is two-way communication, where we speak and listen. In his book " The Purpose Driven Life," Pastor Rick mentions that prayer is when we talk to God, and meditation is when we let God speak to us.
We are called to make a difference in life. Taking a leap of faith is an essential step to be at the next level. God has given each of us a unique talent with an important task. Don't live a normal life in this normal world. Peter was just another disciple of Jesus. What makes him so different from others disciples is not because he was more experienced, but he's willing to take a step of faith. While the 11 were sitting in the boat, he ask permission to walk to him. The other 11 have heard the sermon, seen the miracle, and even perform it themselves they didn't dare to take a chance. The other 11 disciples will forever remember that event. They will testify to others, but it was not their personal testimony. Don't just watch miracles, be a miracle worker. Don't just listen to other testimony, have your own testimony. 3 types of people 1. Those who watch what happened 2. Those who say wow, that's amazing 3. Those who watch and say wow that's amazing, let's make that happen
Each one of us has a battlefield, from the day we were born until the day we lay in the graveyard. We are a soldier of Christ. We have to watch out and be alert all the time. ⁃ “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”1 Peter 5:8 NLT. In a war movie, when does the enemy usually attack, usually at night, when the soldier is drunken on the part and unaware of their surrounding. A thief doesn't usually steal in daylight but in the shadow of the night. Devil tactics are DEVOURING the believer. He won't bite us up, but he can use his word to devour us. He doesn't physically attack Jesus, he makes a suggestion to him. He doesn't take the fruit of knowledge of good and evil and hand it to the hand of Adam and Eve. He used words to deceive them. How did Jesus overcome his strategy? He did that by talking back to him with the word of God.
Don't waste your talent. Have you ever found yourself not gifted and talented in anything? Hey, you are not alone. Every history maker was once in your shoe. God has imparted much gift and talent in you. It's our responsibility to discover those gifts. We will never discover our gifts until we check them. The nicest cloth was in your closet for a year, but you didn't notice until you did a close-up check-up. God has given each one of us a gift and talent“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” – James 1:17, NIV"When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me." — Erma Bombeck
In each and every day of life, we are standing in a gap between fear and faith. Faith will make us more forward but fear will make us stay back. Moses had to make a big decision in life. It was never an easy decision. Let's not get too comfortable and miss out on God's purpose. Moses chose the rough road. He could sit and enjoy the pleasure in the palace but he didn't. He has the right to enjoy pleasure, rich, wealth, power, status, position, etc. He also has the right to forgetting his people. 1. Being taught by two different mothers ( Godly and worldly ) 2. Lives in two different environments 4. Made a decision that will affect him for 40 years. A decision that made leave the palace into the desert. 5. Although his life was hard he chose to obey and didn't go back.
Be careful with what you are saying, it could get you in trouble. "Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. ( Proverbs 10:19 NLT) .Chose wisdom when speaking. If you think what you are saying is going say is going to bring a heated argument, then pause. Let word flow from your mouth to be a peace. There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens: ( Ecc 3:1 NIV ) a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, ( Ecc 3:7 NIV). There is creative power in your word. Speak life and not death. Speak positive things about our future. Call forth what is ahead of us, our dream and vision.
Heartbreak is a universal experience. Healing a broken heart takes time. It's important to do something to help yourself in the healing process. 1. Allow yourself to grieve Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”2. Believe that the best is yet to come Trust and believe in him ( he knows what is best for you) Sometimes it's hard to live with that mindset, but it's worth it 3. Don't blame others for the condition of your heart We have to take full responsibility for our life The bible tells us to guard our heart The enemy will use the closet people to hurt us the most4. Surrender your pain to Jesus Jesus is the healer of the broken heart, and he can start healing you right now. No one knows the pain better than Jesus Only the creator knows the heart of his masterpiece. Jesus comes to heal the broken heart. Luke 4:18 - NKJV = “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me Because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me [a]to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;c19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Have you ever had a hard time maintaining a relationship with God? If you are, then you are not alone. “ A deeper relationship requires a deeper conversation."Just like human beings, developing a relationship with one another is not easy. It takes time to earn the loyalty of the person we want to grow with. The most important thing in a relationship with communication and trust. 4 ways to deepen our relationship with God. 1. Knowing how much you are loved and forgiven by him 2. Control what you see, hear, and speak 3. Time management 4. Humility
The power of commitment 2 Timothy 4:7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.Being committed isn't easy, but it's worth it. You become the thing you are committing to. In 1945 the Japanese used Kamikaze pilots ( also known as suicide bombers) to attack the ship. Kamikaze pilots are only useful if they are committed to their mission. We are the same way. you cannot have involvement without commitment and be effective. It goes with the territory. A true kamikaze pilot only flies on one mission. He cannot be involved without being committed. A survivor of Kamikaze respond, “ well I was very involved but not committed, but very involved.” There is a big difference between commitment and involvement. An example and eggs and bacon. The chicken is involved and the pig is committed. The world will offer you many options, but cannot be committed to doing everything. We have to narrow our focus. What is it that you committing to be doing now?
Are you called to be a youth pastor? know your why and know your youth. I do believe this is an urgent call to the next generation. We stand in the gap to pass on the word. I just want to talk specifically to the Burmese community church. Of course, there is going to be some struggle. One of the struggles is the language barrier, therefore it's easier if you can speak English speaker. It's worth the cost.
you were born to fly, fight, and win. Do you ever feel like there's something more to life than what you are experiencing? Look up! Lift your wings and fly! You can fly like an eagle or dig around in the dirt like a prairie chicken. Don't listen to those around you. You were created to fly. Your full potential is waiting.Just because you are in the cage, it doesn't mean you lose your ability of flying. People will hinder you from seeing your full potential. You have to believe that you can fly. If you've never tried it, you will not know it
Spiritual fitnessEvery new year, there are many people who sign up for gym membership, to get their weight loss. This year Don't forget to sign up for Spiritual Fitness. Stretching requires us to push beyond our normal level of comfort. Comfort is the enemy of faith. we won't get anything done to bring in our comfort zone. God has put more in you than anyone knows/ sees. He has imparted many gifts and talents to you. Use it to dance his kingdom. Allow yourself to be stretched by him. You might think you can only go this far and impact this much, but he sees beyond what you can see.Be bendable in the hands of the Lord If we want to grow in patience - he would bring an inpatient person If you want to grow in your finance - you might have to face a hardship If we want to grow in loving one another - he would bring an unlovable personGod would use opposition to stretch us.
Rekindle your faith to burn for Jesus pray daily / pray in the spirit/ worship read the word have fellowship with another believer Share the gospel How can a person lose their fire for God? focus on the earthly thing social media wrong influence business
Dream, vision, and Goal In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. - Proverbs 16:9“THE ONLY THING WORST THAN BEING BLIND IS HAVING A SIGHT BUT NO VISION.”– HELEN KELLERWhy do we need a vision? Usually, when God speaks he doesn't speak about our current situation. He speaks about our future. - Ex. Gideon on judges 6:12 - mighty warrior - Genesis 12 – He doesn't state Abraham's situation. Genesis 15:5 - He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”3 questions to ask when setting a goal Will this goal honor God?Is this goal motivated by love?3. will this goal require depending on God?
I've been thinking about some time to start a podcast. The moment has come. In this podcast, we are going to talk and about real-life and relatable content.
