God often calls us to step out in faith—even when the way forward feels risky or uncertain. Just as a campfire will eventually smolder and go out if not tended, so our faith can die down if not rekindled each day. Let's learn together how rekindling our faith can not only impact our own lives, but the lives of the people around us.

By Jonathan Beam - God's people have returned from the Feast and back into a world of troubles. The inspirational high that accompanies the Feast can begin to fade unless we take steps to keep it burning in us.

What do you do when intimacy and connection in your marriage start to fade? How can you rekindle the spark, or better yet, keep it burning strong? In this episode, we talk about practical and biblical ways to nurture intimacy in all its forms. When you intentionally protect and prioritize closeness with your spouse, you not only build a marriage you truly enjoy, but you also guard your relationship against the dangers of emotional affairs. Episode Highlights: Identify the different types of intimacy shared within marriage. The wholeness of your marriage matters. All forms of intimacy must be invested in. Boundaries keep your marriage protected. Quotes from this episode: Your sex life is a thermometer, not a thermostat—it reflects the health of your relationship, but it can't set it. When couples neglect emotional and spiritual intimacy, their physical relationship becomes hollow—a beautiful house with no foundation. Sooner or later, the cracks will show. Without emotional intimacy, sex loses its power to truly bond you together. Without spiritual intimacy, you miss God's vision for marriage—a reflection of Christ and the Church. If you wouldn't say, do, or share it with your spouse present, don't do it. That's your boundary—protect it fiercely. If you have nothing to hide, living transparently should be easy—openness is the glue of trust in marriage. Couple's Conversation Guide: When you think about intimacy in your marriage, which type (physical, emotional, spiritual, or relational closeness) feels the strongest right now? Which could use more attention? How do you personally feel most connected to me—through words, actions, time together, or something else? What boundaries do we need to set (personally and as a couple) to guard our marriage against the threat of emotional affairs? What's one thing you'd love for us to do together that would bring more joy, fun, or connection into our marriage? Mentioned in this Episode: Awesome Marriage is on Instagram! Spiritual fire fades without fuel. Staying ablaze is not hype; it's steady surrender—daily prayer, Scripture meditation, worship, confession, and courageous obedience. Protect the flame by pruning distractions, choosing holy friendships, and serving where love costs you something. Rekindle it through gratitude, fasting, and remembering God's past faithfulness. And in today's message, Pastor Dan will remind you that you can ask for fresh fire from the Spirit, then act on it. A burning heart brings clarity, resilience, and joy.
09-28-2025 - Rekindle the Fire by Pastor Adam Bennett

The Wairarapa Cinematheque in Masterton opened its doors this month, screening classic films, Kiwi gems and cult favourites. Jane Ross spoke to Jesse.

Hana shares a personal and poetic teaching on the rhythm of Yin and Yang, the power of seasonal living, and how we rebuild our vitality not through force… but through alignment. In this episode, you'll learn: Why exhaustion is often a sign of Yang depletion, not failure How seasons of Yin are the sacred soil from which vitality grows The role of ovulation, summer, and the full moon in energy restoration How to work with foods, joy, and connection to gently rekindle your inner fire Why it's safe to step back into life, pleasure, and passion — in your own rhythm This is a love letter to your rising energy. A spiritual permission slip to return to the world. A reminder that you are allowed to feel radiant again.

Description: With over two decades of experience in the field, Vanessa Marin is on a mission to help people break down shame, talk openly about sex, and create truly intimate relationships. As a a licensed psychotherapist, sex educator, and bestselling author of Sex Talks: The Five Conversations That Will Transform Your Love Life, which she co-wrote with her husband, Xander, Vanessa brings a candid, humorous, and deeply compassionate voice to a topic that too often stays in the dark Whether your relationship is in a rut, your spark feels a little… dim, or you just want to feel more connected—to your partner and yourself—this one's for you. Vanessa is going to help us say yes to communication, to connection, and maybe most of all, to pleasure. Some topics we dig into: Why we have knee-jerk reactions to sex rooted in shame Why Vanessa says you should start having sex like a man The myth about the female orgasm The best things for your sex life that have nothing to do with taking off your clothes The difference between spontaneous desire versus responsive desire Thought-provoking Quotes: “Despite not getting a great introduction to sex or intimacy or relationships, I had this intuitive sense that there should be joy with this act. There should be connection and intimacy, and it should be something I should feel excited to explore when the time is right.” – Vanessa Marin “This is literally what I am here on this earth for, is to help people get more comfortable talking about sex, connection, and intimacy.” – Vanessa Marin “A lot of people hear, she's a sex therapist. They must have this incredible sex life. the reality is, we've been through ups and downs, too. ” – Vanessa Marin “We get very little, if no, actual sex education. Most of us are left with movies, and TV, and porn as our only sex education. So it's totally understandable that most of us see these scenes and think, that's what I'm looking for. That's the kind of connection I'm supposed to have with my partner. But, the reality is the way that sex looks on TV and in the movies, that's designed for entertainment. It's designed to look good and be pretty. It's not what sex really looks like in real life.” – Vanessa Marin Research has shown that in male-female relationships, women are carrying the vast majority of the mental load. There is so much that is going through our heads on a daily basis—all this tracking, and preparing, and anticipating, and evaluating, our heads are just constantly going. And when you have so much in your brain, it makes it really hard to make the space for intimacy and desire too.” – Vanessa Marin Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Sex Talks: The Five Conversations That Will Transform Your Love Life by Vanessa Marin and Xander Marin - https://amzn.to/43VSwnS The Sex Talks Card Deck and Guidebook: 90 Prompts to Deepen Connection and Spark Intimacy - https://amzn.to/3Hys1xa Vanessa and Xander's Deeper Monthly Membership - https://buy.vmtherapy.com/deeper Guest's Links: Website - https://vmtherapy.com/about Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/vanessaandxander/ Twitter - https://x.com/VMTherapy Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/vanessaandxander/ Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/vanessamarin TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@vanessaandxander Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/vanessaandxander/_created/ Podcast - https://vmtherapy.com/podcast/ Connect with Jen!Jen's Website - https://jenhatmaker.com/ Jen's Instagram - https://instagram.com/jenhatmakerJen's Twitter - https://twitter.com/jenHatmaker/ Jen's Facebook - https://facebook.com/jenhatmakerJen's YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/user/JenHatmaker The For the Love Podcast is presented by Audacy. What's up Bros? We love the Love Hotel. After a hell of a cliffhanger last week, we get to read the letter. It turns out Shannon tracked down Earl's long lost stepson and provided him with the contact info. After an emotional scene, it looks like Earl may still be in the running afterall. Luann and James continue to further their relationship (to the point that James is referring to Lu as his girlfriend). Ashley is still torn between Ralph and Wale and even didn't give Wale her key this time. She claims its because shes afraid to fall in love with Wale because they may not want the same things. Gizelle is still somewhat checked out as far as the dating scene goes but can Phil or one of the newbies be enough for her to fall in love?!? This show rocks. Learn more about your ad choices.
