In this powerful coaching session, Christine works with Kevin, a husband of 21 years, as he explores the delicate balance between healthy relational needs and unresolved childhood wounds. Kevin opens up about longing for deeper intimacy and appreciation from his wife—and wondering if those desires are truly valid or rooted in his past. Together, they unpack how unmet childhood needs often show up in our adult relationships, especially when we expect a partner to fulfill what our parents couldn't. Christine helps Kevin distinguish between the “little boy” who seeks attention and the “grown man” who can communicate clearly, take leadership, and set his partner up for success. If you've ever felt unseen, under appreciated, or rejected by someone you love—or if you've wondered why the same emotional patterns keep showing up in your relationships—this episode offers a roadmap for transforming frustration into empowerment and deeper connection. Consider/Ask Yourself Are there needs in your relationship that go unmet, leaving you resentful or withdrawn? Do you ever feel like your partner “should just know” what you need? Have you confused childhood wounding with adult desire? How might your relationship change if you led with grounded communication instead of expectation? Key Insights and A-HAs Many relational frustrations stem from projecting unhealed childhood wounds onto our partners. Expressing needs from a grounded, adult self invites intimacy—while expressing them from a wounded inner child often repels it. True leadership in love means clearly communicating needs and guiding your partner on how to meet them. Resentment and unspoken expectations block intimacy more than unmet needs themselves. Relationships thrive when both partners take 100% responsibility for their own healing and communication. How to Deepen the Work Before expressing a need, pause to ask: “Is this coming from my adult self or my inner child?” Practice the phrase: “If you really knew me, you'd know I'd love to hear…” to communicate appreciation requests gently. Create “safe yes” conversations—where each partner can express needs without fear of rejection. Consider setting aside scheduled connection time to nurture intimacy intentionally. Reflect on how your family patterns might still shape how you relate to love, desire, and worthiness. What do you do when the battle isn't out there—but inside your own heart? We all get fired up about the war out there—but the greatest battle is often the one within. In week four of Worship is War, Pastor Joby unpacks the story behind “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” and the confession that still speaks to every believer: “Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it.” Through Romans 7, we're reminded that even when our hearts drift, God's grace pursues us. Worship realigns our spirit to the truth that Jesus has already won the war—and invites us to come home to the One who never stops seeking us.
Are you tired of your partner feeling constantly dissatisfied — no matter how hard you work, how much you provide, or how “good” you try to be? You're not alone. So many men try to fix relationship problems with effort, money, or logic — yet still end up feeling unseen, unappreciated, and disconnected. In this episode, David Chambers reveals the 3 essential masculine practices every man must master to create love that lasts. You'll learn why women don't trust “busy” or reactive men, how your reactivity destroys connection, and what it actually means to be grounded and conscious in your relationship. This isn't about being “more alpha” — it's about embodying a presence that women feel safe with, a consciousness that leads with calm, and a courage that opens even when fear arises.
Seasons of anxiety and depression can leave us feeling weak, broken, and even distant from God. Yet, as our daily prayer and devotional from Emily Rose Massey reminds us, these struggles do not define our faith or separate us from God’s presence. In fact, suffering can be the very place where our roots in Christ grow deeper. Jesus calls us to abide in Him as the true Vine. Just as branches cannot bear fruit without staying connected to the vine, neither can we thrive apart from Him. Prayer and Scripture become lifelines—keeping us grounded in His peace, truth, and strength when the world feels overwhelming. Like trees in winter whose roots grow deeper underground, our times of hardship can press us closer to the heart of God. Instead of yielding to despair or turning to substitutes for comfort, we can remain connected to Christ, the only source of lasting life and peace. In Him, we find the strength to endure, the hope to carry on, and the joy of knowing we are never alone. Today's Bible Reading: "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:4-5, ESV Key Takeaways Abiding in Christ is essential—apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Seasons of suffering can deepen our spiritual roots and strengthen our faith. Prayer and Scripture are vital lifelines that keep us connected to Jesus. The enemy seeks to isolate us, but Christ sustains us through every trial. Let’s Pray Together Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me new life in Your Son, Jesus. Help me to abide in You daily and hold fast to the peace You bring. Deepen my roots in You during seasons of suffering, and keep me connected to Your love and strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen. In this episode, Christine coaches Jessica, a multi-passionate entrepreneur who struggles to follow through on her vision. Jessica shares how she often throws herself into new ideas with enthusiasm, only to lose momentum when life shifts or self-doubt creeps in. Although she feels deeply called to help mothers raising children in challenging family systems, she wrestles with limiting beliefs about whether people actually want what she offers. Christine helps Jessica reframe her so-called “career ADHD” as a strength—multi-passionate creativity—and uncovers the deeper fears that keep her from committing fully to her dream. They discuss the power of belief, why consistency matters more than perfection, and how to align her entrepreneurial mindset with truth, love, and service. If you've ever second-guessed your calling, started projects you didn't finish, or doubted whether your work really matters, this coaching session will inspire you to release self-sabotage and step forward with clarity and confidence. Consider/Ask Yourself Do you start projects with excitement but struggle to finish them? Have you labeled yourself as “scattered” or “inconsistent” instead of seeing your creativity as a gift? Are you holding back from your dream because you fear people won't want what you have to offer? How might changing your beliefs about yourself and your audience shift the results you see? Key Insights and A-HAs Being multi-passionate isn't a problem—it's part of the entrepreneurial spirit. Our beliefs shape our outcomes: if we believe there's no audience, our energy reflects that. Consistency in creating and sharing builds trust, especially with sensitive topics like parenting and family. Fear of failure often shows up as “not finishing,” but true growth comes from committing fully. Relief, not resistance, signals alignment with truth. How to Deepen the Work Identify one limiting belief that's draining your momentum. Write down evidence that challenges it. Clarify who your “ideal client” is and create content as if you're speaking directly to them. Reframe social media or marketing as opportunities to build trust rather than chores. Normalize the ups and downs of entrepreneurship—it's part of the journey, not proof you're failing. "Joy is the experience of contentment, gratitude, and meaning, regardless of our external circumstance. Joy is not simply feeling happy. Joy encompasses quality of life and the ability to contribute to the world with a sense of meaning and purpose . . . Joy, by definition, cannot be the goal." —Dr. Kerry Burnight, author of Joyspan: The Art and Science of Thriving in Life's Second Half A mindset shift. A lifestyle choice. Rather than 'choosing joy' a concept that is vast in its meaning as what brings one person joy will be different from another's, it is rather knowing how to cultivate joy. What we choose are the ways to bring more joy into our life. What awesome news to discover that this is a choice we each have the opportunity to make, and in so doing, we welcome more quality into our life today and each day moving forward, as well as a longer life to savor. Gerontologist Dr. Kerry Burnight defines the term joyspan as how many years you enjoy living. "The experience of psychological well-being and satisfaction in longevity." In order to lengthen our joyspan, we need to know how to cultivate joy, and where to find it. The good news is, similar to contentment, we possess the capabilities within ourselves. We now just need to choose to put them to work. Listen to the full episode, and find the detailed Show Notes here on The Simply Luxurious Life blog - https://thesimplyluxuriouslife.com/podcast411

In this candid coaching session, Christine works with Andi, a coach who left a stable engineering career to pursue her true calling—but is now questioning whether to keep going or retreat back to what feels “safe.” After years of effort without financial stability, Andi wonders if she's chasing a pipe dream. Christine helps her uncover the deeper dynamics at play: how childhood conditioning, generational fear, and the belief that success must follow a formula are holding her back. Together, they explore what it means to believe in your dreams even when external results lag, and how coaching isn't just about marketing or money—it's about embodying truth and evolving consciousness. If you've ever doubted your path, felt torn between passion and practicality, or questioned whether your dreams are valid, this conversation will give you clarity, relief, and a renewed sense of purpose. Consider / Ask Yourself: Have you ever wondered if your dreams are too unrealistic—or if the “safe” path is actually safer? Did childhood experiences or parental voices shape your beliefs about success? Are you harder on yourself than you are on others you support? Do you feel like you have “one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake” when it comes to pursuing your passion? Key Insights and A-HAs: Coaching (and many soul-led vocations) is a spiritual journey, not just a business model. Our worth is not defined by clients' results or financial benchmarks. Childhood wounds and inherited fears can sabotage dreams if left unhealed. Success requires both service and the willingness to receive energetic exchange. Believing in yourself and embodying your truth creates alignment that attracts opportunities. How to Deepen the Work: Identify whose voice you hear in your doubts—is it truly yours? Reflect on childhood dreams that were squashed and consider how they want to express now. Reframe support not as “fixing” but as resourcing yourself for the journey. Notice where you're trying to make your path formulaic (A + B = C) and invite curiosity instead. Ask: “What do I know to be true about myself?” and breathe into that truth daily. In September 2025, I took the stage at Shoshanna Raven's Living Brave Live to share a story that has shaped every part of my life, my leadership, and the global movement I've built through SoulWork. This is a deeply personal talk about what it takes to rise as a woman who is devoted to both spiritual depth and business mastery, while creating a legacy of holy redistribution and meaningful impact in the world. The journey begins in the red-light districts of Kolkata, India, where I first encountered the raw edges of human suffering while working alongside survivors of human trafficking. That experience forever changed me. It sparked a defining moment in a cracked mirror, where I asked myself if I was willing to give up everything to be the one who took action — and made the decision to stop waiting for somebody somewhere to do something, and instead become that somebody myself. Out of that moment, SoulWork was born — an organization dedicated to training trauma-informed yoga teachers, leading global retreats, and supporting humanitarian projects around the world. Since its founding in 2015, SoulWork has: Certified thousands of teachers worldwide Built schools and classrooms in India, Guatemala, and Costa Rica Created programs that merge trauma-informed leadership with spiritual practice Crossed $3 million in lifetime revenue while staying rooted in purpose and integrity But my journey hasn't always been easy. Behind the scenes of sold-out retreats and visible success, I struggled with financial scarcity, debt, and the pressure of carrying a global mission. I share how I went from being overextended and exhausted — running 50 retreats a year — to completely restructuring my business into a sustainable, high-profit, low-maintenance model. This shift didn't just transform my business, it transformed my life. It gave me the space to: Renovate my grandfather's home in cash Build a stable financial foundation for my family Deepen my spiritual practice as a lineage carrier in the Himalayas Expand my humanitarian efforts in a way that is truly sustainable In this episode, I also introduce the archetype of the Philanthropic Femme — a rare kind of woman who embodies three essential pillars: Spiritual Depth – devotion to personal practice and a connection to something greater than herself Business Mastery – the strategy, systems, and leadership required to scale her vision Holy Redistribution – using wealth to fund movements, support marginalized communities, and create systemic change This talk is an invitation to every woman who feels the tension between her desire for inner fulfillment, her outer success, and her calling to make a difference. If you are ready to: Build a business that reflects your soul's purpose Step into financial sovereignty while staying deeply rooted in service Merge feminine leadership, conscious business practices, and philanthropy And become the woman who stops waiting and starts creating the change she longs to see …this episode will light a fire in your spirit. You'll leave with a new perspective on leadership, wealth, and impact — and the clarity to walk your own path as a Philanthropic Femme.
In this inspiring session, Christine coaches Wendy, who has felt stuck and frozen by fear—especially when it comes to making decisions in her relationships and career. Wendy shares her history of physical challenges, overprotective parenting, and bullying, which shaped her belief that fear and love always go hand in hand. Christine helps her see that fear doesn't have to be a problem. Together, they explore how to release the “something is wrong with me” belief, reframe fear as an old protective pattern, and step into a new chapter defined by intention rather than paralysis. If you've ever waited to feel confident or fear-free before making a move in your life, this conversation will remind you that you can take steps even with fear present—and that your past doesn't have to dictate your future. Consider / Ask Yourself: Are you waiting for fear to disappear before pursuing something you truly want? Do old childhood experiences still shape how you see yourself and your choices? Have you confused “being seen” with “being judged”? What new story could you tell yourself that would free you from the past? Key Insights and A-HAs: Fear doesn't have to be solved before you act—it can come along for the ride. Overprotective parenting can imprint fear that isn't actually yours. Confidence comes from self-trust and knowing you can handle challenges, not from waiting for certainty. Reframing fear as familiar, but not controlling, creates freedom. Being honest about your story invites connection, not rejection. How to Deepen the Work: Instead of waiting for confidence, act with intention. Talk to your younger self and reassure them they are safe now. Notice when you are seeing yourself through the old lens of “something is wrong with me.” Try body-based practices that build trust and safety within yourself. Practice honesty in small ways and notice how people respond with compassion. Upcoming Event: Christine's Women's Retreat happens October 17–19, 2025. This intimate and transformational gathering is a chance to release fear, reprogram old patterns, and step fully into the truth of who you are. Partial scholarships are now available, and generous listeners can even sponsor another woman's attendance. Learn more and reserve your spot at christinehassler.com/retreat. This is a vulnerable episode for me to share, but it was very important to me to record and release this episode because it highlights something I don't think we see enough: people in positions of power, privilege or leadership openly receiving feedback. Janie Ganga is a yoga teacher I deeply admire and have worked closely with for nearly a decade. In May of this year, they reached out to tell me something I had posted on social media had upset and hurt them. (Here is the reel that started it all.) We've had several conversations about the situation since, and this episode is the culmination and public sharing of how we worked through that. Please listen, share it widely, and let us know how it lands with you. Janie Ganga (she/they) is an E-RYT 500 Yoga Teacher, social justice activist, and co-owner of Santosha Yoga, an online studio rooted in the Providence, RI community. Certified in I AM Yoga since 2013, Ganga specializes in Private Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Let Your Yoga Dance, and is completing certification as a Yoga Therapist. Beyond the mat, Janie has organized queer community events for years – creating queer friendly femme-centered spaces in Boston with madFemmePride and co-leading the 2006 Transcending Boundaries Conference, which brought together activists for Transgender, Bisexual, Intersex, Polyamorous, and Kink Rights. As a Professional Member of ASDAH (Association for Size Diversity and Health), Janie is guided by Health at Every Size and is passionate about making yoga accessible to all bodies and identities. Anne Lamott's son “called on” his mom after a transphobic tweet - Janie stumbled on this story after she questioned a colleague about sharing a Lamott's quote. Ganga discovered Lamott had publicly apologized, though the apology received little attention compared to the initial harm. Public Enemies, Private Friends - recommended by Janie's friend Marshall Miller, this documentary highlights dialogue between pro-choice and pro-life leaders in 1990s Boston. Accessible Yoga Podcast - hearing Jivana Heyman speak about his own activism and yoga inspired Janie to share her own perspective more openly. In this heartfelt coaching session, Christine supports Elle, who has done years of personal growth work but still struggles with feeling disconnected—especially in intimate relationships. Despite building a chosen family and strong friendships, Elle worries she may never find a romantic partner she feels both safe and attracted to. Past experiences of abuse and neglect have created protective strategies that now interfere with intimacy and connection. Christine helps Elle see that she is further along than she realizes, guiding her to release self-judgment and reframe her experiences. They explore how protective parts, body-based healing, and inviting the inner child into present-day moments can restore connection. If you've ever felt broken, wondered if something was “wrong” with you, or struggled to combine love, safety, and attraction in relationships, this conversation will offer relief, perspective, and hope. Consider / Ask Yourself: Do you feel disconnected from yourself, others, or even spiritually? Did you grow up in an environment where you didn't feel safe or seen? Do you tend to be drawn to emotionally unavailable partners while overlooking those who are healthy and present? Are you approaching personal growth from the mindset of “fixing what's wrong” instead of cultivating compassion and curiosity? Key Insights and A-HAs: Nothing heals in judgment—shifting from “what's wrong with me” to self-compassion is essential. Attraction to unavailable partners is often a protective strategy that keeps deeper intimacy at bay. Our past selves and inner child need to be invited into the safety of the present moment. Healing requires integrating body-based practices, not just intellectual understanding. You are often further along in your healing than you realize. How to Deepen the Work: Practice inviting your inner child into current moments of connection and safety. Approach your healing with curiosity rather than judgment. Explore somatic or body-based trauma work to move stuck emotions and energy. Reframe protective strategies as once-necessary survival tools—and begin to update them with new choices. Remind yourself regularly: There is nothing wrong with you. Upcoming Event: Christine's Women's Retreat is happening October 17–19, 2025. This life-changing experience only happens every other year. Reach Out: Please include your email and I will get back to you. Thanks!Ephesians 4Paul urges believers to live in unity, maturity, and holiness as members of Christ's body. He calls them to walk in humility, gentleness, patience, and love, striving to maintain the unity of the Spirit. There is one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one Father who is over all, through all, and in all. Christ has given apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the church for ministry and spiritual growth. Followers of Christ must mature in faith, avoiding false teachings and growing into Him, the head of the church. They should cast off their old sinful ways and embrace a new life of righteousness. Paul encourages honesty, kindness, forgiveness, and speaking words that uplift others, reflecting God's love in all our relationships. Are you walking in a manner worthy of God's calling? The most observable proof is in how we treat one another. We share a common faith and life in Christ, and we must exhibit gentleness, patience, love, and enduring tolerance towards each other. We cannot be in fellowship with God while being at odds with fellow believers. The apostles and prophets of Jesus's time taught about Him to help us refute false doctrine and speak the truth in love, building each other up. While people in the world may have hardened hearts, God's people possess soft, compassionate spirits. We must be honest, charitable, mindful of our words, free of bitterness, and abundantly forgiving, in honor of the mercy of our King. Heavenly Father, implore us to walk in a manner that brings honor to Your name. Help us understand that attitudes and actions among Christians are central to being unique and united in this divided world. Grant us the humility to continue learning about Jesus, so we can refute errors concerning Him, and so that we might know how to encourage and support fellow members of the body of Christ. Soften our hearts. Deepen our compassion and love for one another. We commit to being honest, helpful, and generous among believers and all of humanity, as Jesus is with us. Thought Questions: - Are you a uniting, patient, peaceable presence among the people of God? How important to God is your Christ-like light among Christians? - What unique gifts has God given you to use among His people? How are you presently cultivating and exercising those gifts? - How mindful are you of your words, especially during contentious times? What makes Christians different than the world in their speech?
People crave feeling understood, but rarely get it. Here, psychologist Dr. Caroline Fleck breaks down validation science that transforms how we connect!Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1198What We Discuss with Dr. Caroline Fleck:Validation goes beyond praise. It's a precise psychological skill set that allows us to communicate mindfulness, understanding, and empathy to make someone feel seen and accepted. To understand the difference, think of praise as applauding the performance, while validation is accepting the performer.Research shows that validation literally allows us to endure greater physical pain, suggesting its resilience-building power to help us cope with life's countless difficulties.Obversely, invalidation shuts down recall and problem-solving abilities by triggering sympathetic nervous system arousal. On the other hand, validation restores higher cognitive functioning needed for reasoning.Validation skills are powerful across contexts — from relationships and parenting to medicine and even interrogations. But keep in mind that authenticity is critical — fake or forced validation doesn't work and can even feel condescending, especially to teens.Validation is a skill you can practice and improve. Nurture a mindset of genuine curiosity by asking yourself "What's this person's point?" Start with small steps like attentive listening, nodding, and reflecting words authentically to build stronger trust and connection. And much more...And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps!
