It's been a while, but with news that one of our favorite shows from SYFY making an unexpected return for a second season we had to talk. SurrealEstate did manage to finish off its freshman season in style and give the audience a bit of closure. However, the potential for more was so evident. Thankfully, SYFY recognized the possibility for more and we'll be back to watching Luke Roman and his team sometime in 2023. We have our fingers crossed that all of our favorite characters will be able to return. Cort and Brad also spent time talking about the recent massacre of the CW's lineup (RIP 4400). On the bright side, we still have one last season of Roswell, New Mexico starting on June 6th. We also spent time catching up on other things that we've been watching and new shows that will be coming to SYFY and other networks. Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment to let us know what you're watching. Are you as excited as we are over the surprise renewal of SurrealEstate? With Upfronts coming this week, there will be dozens of new and returning shows announced. What do you think of the CW greenlighting a prequel for Supernatural and for Walker. Mayor Bowman makes the drastic decision to put the Paymart on lockdown. That's before she finds out that Luke and Cam have taken off. Elsewhere, Sarah Blackwood returns to a much changed Mawinhakin. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x08, “To Anyone Who Can Hear My Voice”. It's only been hours for Cam, but the long wait for him to find out his father's fate has arrived. As expected, Cam is shocked and heartbroken. Before leaving to search for the boys, Lauren and the others grab what weapons they can. What garden tool do you think would serve you best in the Zombie apocalypse?
Sarah Blackwood sees her grandmother for the first time in years. The older woman sheds much light on history of the thing in the hole and the mask it had been wearing. Luke blows up at his mother and reveals a long-held secret about himself. He's gay and wishes he'd had the chance to come out to his father. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x07, “Their Evil Was Our Evil”.
Lauren and the others from Amy's wedding have made their escape from the wedding crashers. They're making their way to the now defunct Paymart when they decide to stop and help two women. The Lady Birders managed to catch one of the undead with his pants down. Granted they just think he's a perv. No good deed goes unpunished when the rescued ladies steal Lauren's ride. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x06, “The Lady Birders of Nepa”.
It's Jai and Amy's big day! Finally, time to speak their vows. Sure, his parents didn't make their plane and some of their neighbors have become the main course. Wedding crashing zombies turn the day of Amy's dreams into a nightmare. Too bad no one listened when Jai tried to sound the alarm. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x05, “Til the Dead Do Us Part”. Jai and Shawn try their best to save the wedding guests, but things go downhill quickly. Amy's mother nearly makes an escape, but in shock over the whole situation she decides to grab a memento. They didn't get married yet Amy's mom. You didn't need that wedding cake topper. What did you think of Shawn's surprise proposal? Were you happy to see Lauren come in with the save for Jai and the others?
Trent and Luke may have lost the keg, but the party in the woods finally gets started. Granted all of the partygoers were already lunch for the Endfields. The party crashing zombies stepped it up notch by episode's end when they arrived at Jai and Amy's wedding. How cool was that photo booth action? Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x04, “Forest of the Damned”. Cam has Lauren drop him off at the police station. He's getting worried since he hasn't heard anything from his father. He tells Captain Pike and Mayor Bowman exactly what they're all dealing with, but they don't seem to believe him. This is surprising at least on the Mayor's behalf since she faced off with zombies already at the retirement home. Elsewhere, Dr. Logan makes an interesting discovery.
Mayor Bowman has a secret. One that has nothing to do with that undead protestor. Jai, Cam, and Lauren end up back at the retirement home just as things truly start to fall apart there. Nicole makes a fatal error after getting clued into her boss' secret. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x03, “The Grey Mile”. How amazing was Mrs. French? Also, Nicole really wasn't thinking when she messed with Paula's weapon. The dead are roaming and to even temporarily disable the only weapon in the vicinity was such a bad call. Why not just tell Trey what she knows? Afraid to the the bearer of such bad news? Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment
Last week left us wondering, but Bobby's Peepaw definitely took a bite out of Lauren. Her bite and McDermott's situation have us curious about the rules of this undead universe. Cam and Lauren manage to come up with an idea that saves them and most of the funeral attendees from becoming lunch. There was that one guy but he kinda had it coming after opening that cold locker after they him to leave it alone. The dead are on their feet and he wants to check to see what's knocking inside the meat lockers at a funeral home? Oh no. Just no, Dale. Bad idea all around. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x02, “Chum”. Jai gets his first look at Mawinhaken's new reality and his wedding to Amy takes a drop on his list of concerns. Elsewhere, it's “Weekend at Bernie's” time as Paul, Trey, and Nicole try to cover-up an accidental murder.
A George Romero classic claws its way from the grave for a re-telling of a very familiar tale. Syfy's new series, ‘Day of the Dead' has finally arrived. This time the dead has arisen in the same town of Mawinhakin. The day started out promising enough for many of the townspeople. Sarah Blackwood is minding her business at her new job when she finds herself lowered into a hole. Of course, she finds a not quite dead body. Mayor Bowman is up for re-election and she's feeling confident. Jai's maybe getting married and definitely taking control of his life. Maybe. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x01, “The Thing in the Hole”. Lauren is making a fresh start of things. Sure her boss is a pervert, but karma comes to pay him a visit with a quickness. Like Jai, she's taking control in her life and trying to do better for herself. The girl is clearly a badass, as becomes apparent during her battle with Bobby's recently deceased Peepaw. Who had the best zombie takedown of the episode? Was it Lauren with that mic stand or Cam with the mower? Which was your favorite Easter egg from the Romero-verse? Which character are you hoping survives all the chaos to come?
It's season finale time and things aren't starting off on the best footing for the Roman Agency. August is tucked away somewhere in the Donovan house and Luke's gotten a little banged up. While their boss is on the mend, Susan and the others try to figure out the best way to get to their friend. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x10, “The House Always Wins”. Zooey visits the Donovan house and sees the face of her lost love, Kyle. He tells her to stay away from that house. Sound advice, but they need to get August out first. What did you think of Susan's ploy to get into the Henderson house? How shocked were you over the revelation of Luke and his sister? Do you think Luke has lost his gift for good? When is SYFY going to give us the good word and let us know this amazing show has been renewed???? Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment
It's the penultimate episode ahead of the season finale. Megan says a final goodbye to her house and she has some choice words for Luke's mother. Elsewhere, Susan can't keep her mind off of work as she supposed to be relaxing and helping out for her best friend's wedding. Of course it wasn't her fault that the cake started oozing blood or that something seems intent on killing off the bride before the big day. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x09, “White Wedding”. Luke and the others offer an assist as Susan does all she can to help her best friend. With Megan vacating her house for good, August takes that time to do another check of the premises. This turns out to be a very bad idea all the way around.
Megan's not talking to him and he's losing business left and right. It's a bad week for Luke and the Roman Agency. Between the pulled listing, bad press, and failing to save that last family, Luke is thinking it's time for a change in business model for the company. Elsewhere, Susan makes a discovery about the nature of roadies. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x08, “Baba O'Reilly”. While still trying to decide on some life-altering decisions, Luke ends up back a house from his childhood. The moment he and others step inside, they seemingly revert to simpler times. Who was your favorite to see as their 16-year old selves? With the others occupied, Susan ends up facing off with the last remaining roadie that has possessed Megan.
Our favorite band of realtors are back and they've got a sinister new roadie in tow. The episode kicks off with the team returning to the Roman Agency after a tough case. As far as they're concerned, they were able to extinguish the problem at the stigmatized house. It's not long before they have to go into lockdown because they've brought something home with them. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x07, “Quarantine”. Things get dark as nearly every member of the team is possessed by the Roadie. Which possession freaked you out more? Was it August and his stretchy arms? Or maybe Zooey just hanging around? In the end, it seems like all is well as the group is able to exorcise this roadie. There were some harsh truths spoken during the different possessions. Initially, it seems as if Susan's new family won't be there to support her as she received a lifetime achievement award, but no way. The cool kids crash the party to show their support. Zooey even shows her love for Susan by tossing in a well-timed Carrie reference when her co-worker hits the stage to give her acceptance speech. It seems as if all is well after their enforced lockdown. At least it seems that way until Luke and Megan head off to go home. It's only then that Luke realizes that there is something very wrong with his girlfriend.
Competitor, Rita Weiss reaches out to the Roman Agency for their special kind of help with a problematic property. Visitors for the Open House each meet with some eye-opening and grisly accidents. Yikes upon yikes level eye-opening. Elsewhere, Susan and Zooey help an unhappy spirit exorcise some human guests. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x06, “Roman's Six”. How epic was that scene with Zooey and the college bros? Also, the storyline plays out with Susan having no idea that her client is no longer among the living until the end. It's a very satisfying twist. Speaking of twists, poor Megan. She just can't catch a break. First her own house and now she finds herself targeted after visiting that Open House. Luke and the team must figure out a way to stop Megan from becoming the next victim of a wayward tree branch or flying arrows. This writing team is so creative with the numerous eye-gouging moments. Did your heart drop when Megan appeared to fall victim by taking a rebar to the eye?
Father Phil returns to his old stomping grounds at the Church to help the team dig into the mystery of this week's stigmatized property. A young rapper and his team rent out a house wanting to make use of the fully outfitted studio inside. Luke and his team clear the house of it's previous owner, but soon realize that someone else was left behind. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x05, “Ft. Ghost Child”. At what point in this episode were you reduced to a giant puddle of sobs? We've watched the team deal with malevolent spirts and even got a hilarious bit of that at the top of the episode. The young ghost though pulled at all the heartstrings. The entire team did an epic job with this episode. We learned more about Father Phil past and Susan eclectic taste in music. No wonder she's such a badass closer. Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts on Ep 1x05, “Ft. Ghost Child”. This week finds Luke's team splitting their talents between two different cases. Susan and Zooey team up when new buyers aren't quite satisfied with their recent purchase. Sure their new cliffside home is beautiful but the wobbly walls and mysterious puddles of water that appear from nowhere are definitely a dealbreaker. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x04, “A House Is Not A Home”. What did you think of Zooey and Susan's bonding session? The two women open up to one another over wine. Zooey is doubtful about Susan's pyrotechnical skills until she gets front row view. Elsewhere, Luke scores a windfall for the Agency as they look to close a deal with an old rival. Of course things get complicated when Luke discovers the reason this subdivision is haunted. Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts on Ep 1x04, “A House Is Not A Home”. You can also send us an email at bradandcorttalk@gmail.com. Be sure to check back for next week's all new episode as Melanie Scrofano returns to direct Ep 1x05, “Ft. Ghost Child”.
This week the Roman Agency has their work cut out for them. First, Luke is sent in to deal with a reluctant homeowner (Melanie Scrofano). Well, actually, she's less reluctant and more bound to the property. Elsewhere, Susan does her level best to please one of the agency's regular buyers. Problem? She has to do things her way and nearly gets herself fired from his contract. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x03, “For Sale By Owner”. Are you a fellow Earper who was over the moon to see Melanie, our former Wynonna Earp, back on the screen with Tim Rozon? What was your favorite Harper moment? She certainly came up with an entire routine meant to scare away potential buyers. What was up with Luke's childhood home? That house was scary enough to please Susan's eccentric author.
Is it a Lassie or a Harvey? This week, Luke and his team are face off with a child-like spirit. Of course, there's something entirely more sinister than meets the eye with this ghost girl who is upset that her friend may be moving away. Susan jumps in and tries doing things her way, but she's still very much the new kid on the block. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort Ep 1x02, “The Harvey”. The parents were super resistant to the idea of ghosts even after witnessing some strange things around the house. Were they lying to themselves or do you think they truly held no belief of the supernatural? Susan hits the ground running in her new position with the Roman Agency. Do you think she has a tendency to overstep or she's exactly what the company needs to switch things up a little? What do you think is drawing Luke the most? Megan or her house?Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts on Ep 1x02, “The Harvey”. You can also send us an email at bradandcorttalk@gmail.com.
Meet Luke Roman and his group of specialized. Their area of expertise? Stigmatized properties and things that go bump in the night. Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp) returns to SYFY for this all new series confronting the spectral and some personal demons. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down the pilot episode. Susan joins the Roman Agency for her skills moving real estate and working with clients, but it's her firestarter tendencies that offer some insight to help a troubled teen. Elsewhere, Megan Donovan gets the scare of her life when her surgical books become a little too interactive. Luke arrives on the scene at just the right moment. He instantly makes a connection with Megan and it becomes apparent that he has his own past with her house. Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts the ‘SurrealEstate' series premiere. Were you sold on Luke Roman and his team of experts?

This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Tricia Helfer. She offered insight into some of our favorite roles from past and present. Hit play and listen in. Be sure to follow Tricia on all of her socials and put that ‘Cagney and Lacey' remake out in the ether. It's absolutely gotta happen. Just picture it. Katee Sackhoff and Tricia on our screens again, but this time, solving crimes and chasing down baddies. Welcome back, Helsingers. The end has arrived and how bittersweet has it been to watch our faves truly come full circle. Vanessa, Violet, and Jack face off with the Dark One for one last battle and it's pretty epic. Ivory and Axel are forced to turn back to help President Park and his son. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x12, “The Voices” and 5x13, “Novissima Solis”. Bathory received the Van Helsing bite and she was turned back, but being a bride of Dracula isn't very easy on the psyche. Vanessa tries to help by using one of her new Dark Realm maneuvers. She's able to get into Bathory's mind, but the Dark One is still able to exert control from afar. First, she has Bathory attack Jack and retrieve the amulet. It's not long before, Dracula is fully powered up and using that energy to darken the skies and turn everyone possible in her vicinity into vampires. The Van Helsings and those they've turned are immune to the force of the Dark One's power. What did you think of the final showdown between the Dark One and Vanessa? The amulet is destroyed, but Vanessa once again levels up and she becomes the vessel for all of that darkness. Were you shocked to find out that Olivia's consciousness was tucked away within the Dark One? Axel ends where he began. Watching over Vanessa. Olivia returns and meets her descendants. Ivory takes off to track down what remands of the Sisterhood. This looks like a spin-off that I would love to have on my tv screen. Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts on the finale two episodes of the series. You can also send us an email at bradandcorttalk@gmail.com.
Welcome back, Helsingers. The end is near. Next week heralds the series finale of our long journey. Syfy dropped the final three penultimate episodes last night in a surprise treat for the fans. We'll include our recap of 5x12 with next week's finale. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down eps 5x10 and 5x11. In the first episode of the evening, Axel and Violet are so close to reuniting with Vanessa, Ivory, and Jack in DC. They just need to find a way over the wall first. Unlike Vanessa, they can't travel through portals. This leg of the trip brings them into contact with the former President, Davis Park who was turned on Day One of the Rising. The second episode, “Undercover Mother” serves up one helluva treat as we get the awesome Ali Liebert portraying Vanessa going undercover as Nina. Plus, Ivory and Jack make it to Washington and team up with the Resistance. They all work together to try to bring Bathory back to their side.
Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x08, “Deep Trouble”
Welcome back, Helsingers. This week Julius gets a reacquainted with an old friend. Nina turns out to be way more than a blood covered, pretty face. Back in the 80’s, Julius was at a pretty low point. He’s broken with Dmitri’s Brood and was off on his own with his Mama. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x06, “Carpe Noctis”. Julius was head over heels for Nina from the start. Were you worried that he would take off with her after their recent reunion? Were you upset when she tried to turn him when clearly he was enjoying being human again? How awesome was it to see Mama again?
Welcome back, Helsingers. This week’s all-new episode focuses in on Violet and what remains of the Sisterhood. Ivory and her sisters find themselves still adjusting to their new reality as former vampires. Some are tormented by centuries of bloody deeds and others are having trouble coping with the fear of this new world. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x05, “Sisterhunt”. What did you think of this week’s episode? The non-stop action had us on the edge of our seats for the entire hour. How cool was it to hear Ivory’s backstory. Getting more on her sisters, Mira and Zuma twisted the knife deeply. After figuring out what was stalking their group, Violet gets a surprise about her own sister, Jack. Somehow her sister traveled to the past. Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts on ep 5x05, “Sisterhunt”. You can also send us an email at bradandcorttalk@gmail.com.
Welcome back, Helsingers. This week’s all-new episode reunites us with more of the Van Helsing bunch in the present. Ripples are felt from those changes in the past. The Dark One has lost a great deal of her power. Violet realizes that there is something different about the vial. Does she realize it’s now housing part of the Dark One’s power? Unfortunately, not before some of it is released. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x04, “State of the Union”.
Welcome back, Helsingers. At the top of the hour, Michael’s plans appear to be back on track. She’s successfully used Olivia as a vessel for the Dark One. She’s ready to wield her newfound power through Dracula, but there’s just one huge problem. Michaela has no idea the ancient power that she’s trifled with. The Dark One quickly makes clear who is in control. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x03, “Lumina Intunecata”
Welcome back, Helsingers. This week’s episode picks up not long after Jack landed herself in the clink for murdering Lady Olivia. Sure she was able to temporarily derail Michael’s plans, but Jack ends up on the gallows for her actions. Thankfully, a broken neck doesn’t do much to keep a Van Helsing down for very long. While Jack takes a brief dirt nap, Michaela moves forward with her plans to use Olivia as the vessel for her dark plan. First, she must resurrect poor Olivia. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x02, “Old Friends”.
Welcome back, Helsingers. Our show’s finally back and it seems that we’re in for one wild ride. The last episode left us on quite the cliffhanger, but we quickly are clued in to Jack’s fate. Thanks to Vanessa , her offspring doesn’t languish overlong in that coffin. Instead she jumps through a portal and lands in an unexpected time and place. Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x01, “Past Tense”. Jack encounters more than one familiar face when she travels back in time to Transylvania. It turns out that Vanessa has sent the younger Van Helsing back to pull a Back to the Future, make enough changes their timeline. How can she do this? By killing Olivia von Dracula (Tricia Helfer) who turns out to be the Dark One we came to know last season. Give us a listen and then be sure to drop a comment or in our Facebook group with your thoughts on ep 5x01, “Van Helsing”. You can also send us an email at bradandcorttalk@gmail.com.
