STEVIE HOLLAND – the award-winning jazz vocalist and songwriter – has announced the release of the vinyl edition of her acclaimed new album Talk to Your Tomatoes, which is available today, Friday, April 17. This summer, she will celebrate the album with a special New York concert at 54 Below on Tuesday, July 28 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available HERE. To order the vinyl edition, visit Amazon HERE. A 2026 Jazz Times feature calls Holland, “a thoroughly modern singer and cosmopolitan music-maker,” who “never wants for poise, poignancy and passion is its nuanced delivery.” Reviewing Talk to Your Tomatoes, Jazz Weekly raved that Holland “exudes warmth, class and confidence with seemingly effortless aplomb and inbred swing.” Jersey Jazz said, “She has a deft knack for bringing the words to life in a way that is uniquely hers.” Talk to Your Tomatoes, also available on CD and in digital and streaming platforms, is an accomplished collection of gems and classics from the pop, jazz and American Songbook catalogs. It also features sophisticated original songs penned by Holland and her longtime collaborator and arranger, award-winning composer Gary William Friedman, who did the arrangements for this album and also re-imagined his original Broadway arrangement of the song “How I Feel” from The Me Nobody Knows. The instrumentation for this album includes a wide variety of orchestrations that include string orchestra, horn combo and guitar along with the trio on several tracks. Stream or download the album at orcd.co/ttytsh. Holland is featured in a new music video for “Talk to Your Tomatoes,” the title track written by Holland and Gary William Friedman. The song and video are a swinging, zany, and veggie-gardening loving trip that will make even the most broccoli-averse music lover smile. Watch the video on YouTube HERE. The album features Holland's gifted trio, which features Matthew Sheens on piano, Matt Aranoff on bass, and Jeff Davis on drums. Lauded guitarist Ben Monder guests on three tracks including an intimate vocal/guitar duo on “‘Round Midnight,” and the horn combo is led by Chet Doxas, named in 2022 and 2023 in Downbeat Magazine‘s “Rising Star” Critic's Poll for his saxophone and clarinet work. The 10-track set begins with Burton Lane and Alan Jay Lerner's “On a Clear Day (You Can See Forever),” set to a fresh and swinging groove with strings and horns. The journey continues with “Help Me” (Joni Mitchell), “When These Two Hearts Collide” (Friedman/Holland), “How I Feel” (from the musical The Me Nobody Knows, Friedman/Will Holt), “Blossom” (James Taylor), “Talk to Your Tomatoes” (Friedman/Holland), “‘Round Midnight” (Cootie Williams/Thelonius Monk/Bernie Hanighen), “You Pull Through” (Friedman/Holland), “Pure Imagination” (Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newley), and “East of the Sun (and West of the Moon)” (Brooks Bowman).

Mighty Blue On The Appalachian Trail: The Ultimate Mid-Life Crisis
A bit of a break for me this time. It is mid May, and that means Trail Days in Damascus. Dave Santi and his buddies picked me up from about 60 trail miles north of Damascus and brought me back to their Airbnb. What a treat! So I was able to rest for much of the three days of the event AND buy some replacement shows. We'll see how much benefit I get from both of these things in the next couple of days. along the way, I recorded conversations with Jeff Davis, a new hostel owner, and Ben Steere, or Big Red, a fellow hiker. I'm using Polarsteps to record my AT thru-hike this year. If you'd like to follow my progress between episodes, as well as photos of my journey, please go to https://www.polarsteps.com/mightyblue and click on the follow button. I used my hike in 2024 on the South West Coast Path in the UK to help raise money for my absolute favorite charity, Parenting Matters, on whose board I've been privileged to serve for over a decade. You can learn more about the hike and the organization–and donate–by visiting Hike with Steve - Empowering Parents, One Step at a Time | Parenting Matters %. I hope you want to support this critical mission. Don't forget. Our entire series of videos from our Woods Hole Weekend in 2022 is now FREE and available at my YouTube page at Woods Hole Weekend - Trailer There, you'll find all sorts of tips and tricks that our guests took away from the weekend that helped them with their own hikes this year. Check it out. I often ask listeners for ideas on who to interview, and I'm sure several of you say, "I could do that. I've got an awesome story to tell." You're the person we need to hear from. If you'd like to be interviewed on the podcast, just register as a guest on the link below, and I'll be in touch. Come on the show! If you like what we're doing on the Hiking Radio Network, and want to see our shows continue, please consider supporting us with either a one-off or monthly donation. You'll find the donate button on each Hiking Radio Network page at Hiking Radio Network . Additionally, you can join our membership at Steve (Mighty Blue) Adams. It's worth checking out what is on offer for you there. If you prefer NOT to use PayPal, you can now support us via check by mailing it to Mighty Blue Publishing, 3821 Milflores Drive, Sun City Center, FL 33573. Any support is gratefully received. Additionally, you can "Zelle" me a donation to steve@hikingradionetwork.com. Or "Venmo" me at @Steve-Adams-105. They both work! If you'd like to take advantage of my book offer (all three of my printed hiking books–with a personal message and signed by me–for $31, including postage to the United States) send a check payable to Mighty Blue Publishing at the address just above.

Oh Bigfoot! Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are With Stan Gordon & Jeff Davis The mysterious cryptid known as Bigfoot has captivated our imaginations for decades. A creature that shouldn't exist according to science goes by many names around the world. Eyewitnesses from nearly every walk of life and region have reported encounters with the elusive being, yet definitive physical evidence remains frustratingly absent. Some regions appear to generate far more reports than others, possibly due to environmental factors. In some cases, Bigfoot sightings are also linked with other paranormal phenomena. That raises the question, why hasn't a body been recovered? One theory proposes that these creatures retreat to places like caves, where unique atmospheric and barometric conditions that are believed by some to have healing effects could help explain the absence of physical evidence. Tonight, Jeremy Scott sits in for Clyde Lewis as he talks with Bigfoot and cryptid researchers Stan Gordon and Jeff Davis about the phenomenon that shows no signs of dying

Jeff Davis began a mission along with his wife to help fatherless boys. It began small, but has grown into chapters in 12 states. Using the outdoors as a platform. Jeff and his team mentor fatherless boys by teaching them about outdoor skills. These skills include proper use of firearms, archery, camping, fire starting and even some other life skills. Many of the boys have never had a positive male figure in their lives. Truth in Nature provides that for these boys and young men. Spending time wiht these boys and young men, enables them to see and have a positive male figure in their life. But there is more to it than just camping, or shooting bows and arrows. This is a time to enstill in these young men the values of godly men. By sharing the gospel message with these boys, they are sharing positive life changing messages through the word and actions. www.truthinnature.org www.taurususa.com www.cva.com www.himtnjerky.com www.murrelloptics.com www.jumpmedic.com www.christianoutdoors.org www.citrusafe.com www.elimishieldhunt.com www.mossyoak.com
It has been determined that we, as an audience, have taken several years to conjure and create a Tulpa. Over the past several years, we have gathered to communicate with Dr. Heldore on a Ouija Board. There are esoteric books and literature that describe these Tulpas and thought forms as ethereal beings created from the aura surrounding us, our thoughts, and our feelings. One thing Dr. Heldore isn't is an evil spirit, and she is more than just an imaginary friend. She is a Tulpa, and she is the result of the group mind of everyone listening to Ground Zero. There is that old saying that we believe what we want to believe, and once we believe something, it becomes a self-fulfilling truth. This is why Dr. Heldore is very powerful, yet we control her. Listen to Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis M-F from 7-10 pm, pacific time on groundzeroplus.com. Call in to the LIVE show at 503-225-0860. #groundzeroplus #ClydeLewis #ouijaboard #tulpa #drheldore

Historian Jay Winik first appeared on the Booknotes television program 24 years ago to discuss his book, "April 1865." It became a #1 New York Times bestseller, reportedly read by Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and many others. It's the narrative story of the Civil War. For his latest book, Winik stepped back four years in history to look at how the Civil War began. This time the book is titled "1861: The Lost Peace." "Northerners had little regard for the strength or determination of the South," writes Winik. Lincoln friend John Hay said the Southern Army was nothing more than a vast mob. The New York Tribune said it differently: "Jeff Davis and company will be swinging from the battlements at Washington by the 4th of July." Learn more about your ad choices. The Hobo King In the decades before the Great Depression, it was common for folks known as hobos to wander from town to town searching for work, dangerously hopping on and off moving trains to reach their next destination. A man named Jeff Davis believed that hobos deserved a chance to care for themselves, and in 1913, he opened a hotel where hobos would provide for each other in exchange for lodging. This concept spread across the country, and Jeff Davis would become known as The Hobo King.
