On this episode of Crazy Wisdom, I, Stewart Alsop, sit down with Sweetman, the developer behind on-chain music and co-founder of Recoup. We talk about how musicians in 2025 are coining their content on Base and Zora, earning through Farcaster collectibles, Sound drops, and live shows, while AI agents are reshaping management, discovery, and creative workflows across music and art. The conversation also stretches into Spotify's AI push, the “dead internet theory,” synthetic hierarchies, and how creators can avoid future shock by experimenting with new tools. You can follow Sweetman on Twitter, Farcaster, Instagram, and try Recoup at chat.recoupable.com.Check out this GPT we trained on the conversationTimestamps00:00 Stewart Alsop introduces Sweetman to talk about on-chain music in 2025.05:00 Coins, Base, Zora, Farcaster, collectibles, Sound, and live shows emerge as key revenue streams for musicians.10:00 Streaming shifts into marketing while AI music quietly fills shops and feeds, sparking talk of the dead internet theory.15:00 Sweetman ties IoT growth and shrinking human birthrates to synthetic consumption, urging builders to plug into AI agents.20:00 Conversation turns to synthetic hierarchies, biological analogies, and defining what an AI agent truly is.25:00 Sweetman demos Recoup: model switching with Vercel AI SDK, Spotify API integration, and building artist knowledge bases.30:00 Tool chains, knowledge storage on Base and Arweave, and expanding into YouTube and TikTok management for labels.35:00 AI elements streamline UI, Sam Altman's philosophy on building with evolving models sparks a strategy discussion.40:00 Stewart reflects on the return of Renaissance humans, orchestration of machine intelligence, and prediction markets.45:00 Sweetman weighs orchestration trade-offs, cost of Claude vs GPT-5, and boutique services over winner-take-all markets.50:00 Parasocial relationships with models, GPT psychosis, and the emotional shock of AI's rapid changes.55:00 Future shock explored through Sweetman's reaction to Cursor, ending with resilience and leaning into experimentation.Key InsightsOn-chain music monetization is diversifying. Sweetman describes how musicians in 2025 use coins, collectibles, and platforms like Base, Zora, Farcaster, and Sound to directly earn from their audiences. Streaming has become more about visibility and marketing, while real revenue comes from tokenized content, auctions, and live shows.AI agents are replacing traditional managers. By consuming data from APIs like Spotify, Instagram, and TikTok, agents can segment audiences, recommend collaborations, and plan tours. What once cost thousands in management fees is now automated, providing musicians with powerful tools at a fraction of the price.Platforms are moving to replace artists. Spotify and other major players are experimenting with AI-generated music, effectively cutting human musicians further out of the revenue loop. This shift reinforces the importance of artists leaning into blockchain monetization and building direct relationships with fans. The “dead internet theory” reframes the future. Sweetman connects IoT expansion and declining birth rates to a world where AI, not humans, will make most online purchases and content. The lesson: build products that are easy for AI agents to buy, consume, and amplify, since they may soon outnumber human users.Synthetic hierarchies mirror biological ones. Stewart introduces the idea that just as cells operate autonomously within the body, billions of AI agents will increasingly act as intermediaries in human creativity and commerce. This frames AI as part of a broader continuity of hierarchical systems in nature and society.Recoup showcases orchestration in practice. Sweetman explains how Recoup integrates Vercel AI SDK, Spotify APIs, and multi-model tool chains to build knowledge bases for artists. By storing profiles on Base and Arweave, Recoup not only manages social media but also automates content optimization, giving musicians leverage once reserved for labels.Future shock is both risk and opportunity. Sweetman shares his initial rejection of AI coding tools as a threat to his identity, only to later embrace them as collaborators. The conversation closes with a call for resilience: experiment with new systems, adapt quickly, and avoid becoming a Luddite in an accelerating digital age.

In this episode, Lex speaks with Marcelo Ruiz de Olano, Co-Founder of KPK (Karpatkey), an on-chain asset management firm born out of Gnosis DAO. Marcelo recounts KPK's evolution from stewarding Gnosis's $1B treasury to advising on more than $2B for leading protocols like ENS, Balancer, and the Ethereum Foundation. The discussion dives into the mechanics of non-custodial treasury management - balancing governance, security, and risk - along with strategies across lending, liquidity provision, and stablecoin yields. Marcelo also shares why the rise of large Ethereum treasury companies could be a turning point for DeFi, injecting institutional-scale liquidity and potentially making ETH more liquid than Bitcoin. NOTABLE DISCUSSION POINTS:Origins and Scale of On-Chain Treasury ManagementKPK spun out of Gnosis DAO, which had one of the earliest and largest on-chain treasuries (~$1B). From there, KPK evolved into an independent manager now advising on over $2B of DAO and foundation treasuries (ENS, Balancer, Ethereum Foundation, etc.), pioneering non-custodial, fully on-chain asset management practices.Conservative, Mission-Driven Approach vs. Yield-ChasingUnlike many DeFi actors during “DeFi Summer,” KPK deliberately rejected risky high-yield strategies. Instead, they prioritized capital preservation and mission alignment—for example, ensuring ENS's treasury only supports Ethereum-strengthening initiatives (like minority client staking or avoiding centralization risks). This contrarian, values-driven approach built trust and positioned them as long-term stewards of DeFi treasuries.Transformative Potential of Ethereum Treasury CompaniesMarcelo highlights that emerging Ethereum treasury firms (similar to MicroStrategy's BTC play) could deploy $10B+ in ETH treasuries. A single such “mega whale” could inject unprecedented liquidity into DeFi—making ETH potentially more liquid than BTC, bootstrapping entire verticals (DEX liquidity, lending, insurance), and creating a flywheel where treasury strategies directly accelerate Ethereum's adoption and price stability. Seizing Taiwan would permanently alter Asia's military balance and enable China to exert significant power, potentially even creating famine in the Japanese islands. In this episode, Coach Balak reflects on the progress of runners after ten weeks of training, emphasizing the importance of celebrating milestones. He introduces the concept of the kinetic chain, explaining how various muscle groups work together during running and the common injuries that can arise from imbalances. The discussion also covers the training effect, where the weakest links in the kinetic chain become apparent as training progresses, leading to pain that signals the need for attention and strengthening. Coach Balakir encourages runners to listen to their bodies and manage pain effectively to enhance their performance. Takeaways Every week is an inspiring milestone for runners. The kinetic chain consists of multiple muscle groups working together. Injury pain is common in long-distance running. Strength training is essential for injury prevention. Achilles tendon and groin injuries require careful management. Plantar fasciitis can cause significant pain in runners. Shin splints are a common issue related to running form. Listening to your body is crucial for recovery. The weakest link in the kinetic chain shows signs of pain first. Managing pain effectively can enhance running performance.

They serve as a public record, providing notice of ownership and any claims against a property. This system helps prevent fraud and disputes by ensuring that all parties have access to the same information.Types of Recording Acts:Race Statutes: The first party to record their interest wins, regardless of notice. Notice Statutes: Protects a subsequent purchaser who buys without notice of a prior claim. Race-Notice Statutes: Requires a purchaser to record first and be without notice of prior claims to prevail. Why They Matter: Understanding these acts is vital for anyone involved in real estate transactions. They provide a legal framework that protects buyers, sellers, and lenders, ensuring that property rights are clear and enforceable.Navigating the complexities of real property recording acts can be daunting, but it's essential for safeguarding your investments. Stay informed and consult with legal professionals to ensure your property transactions are secure.TakeawaysReal property recording acts are essential for understanding ownership.Historical context reveals the chaos before recording acts.Recording acts serve multiple functions, including notice and priority.Different jurisdictions follow different types of recording statutes.Bona fide purchasers are crucial in determining property rights.Hypotheticals illustrate the application of recording acts.Chain of title issues can complicate property transactions.Title insurance protects against past defects in ownership.Prompt recording of deeds is vital for legal protection.Future technologies may reshape property law practices.Subscribe Now: Stay updated with the latest insights in real estate law by subscribing.property law, recording acts, real estate, bona fide purchaser, title insurance, legal education, property transactions, chain of title, legal analysis, real property
What if your portfolio could help advance justice, compassion, and human flourishing?Aligning your investments with your faith isn't just about avoiding harm—but actively shaping the world around them for good. Stella Tai joins us to talk about how investors are putting their values to work in the marketplace.Stella Tai is the Stewardship Investing Impact and Analysis Manager for Praxis Investment Management, an underwriter of Faith & Finance.Faith-Based Investing in Action: Praxis' 2024 Impact ReportFor many believers, investing isn't just about building wealth—it's about aligning financial decisions with faith values. Praxis Investment Management, a pioneer in faith-based investing since 1994, continues to demonstrate how Christians can utilize their investments to promote justice, compassion, and tangible change in the world. In its latest Impact Report, Praxis highlights how investor dollars are transforming communities and influencing some of the world's largest companies.Shaping a more just and compassionate world is something that's important to many investors, particularly those of faith. Praxis' annual report reveals where the money goes and how it's used, inspiring others to view their investments as powerful tools for making a difference.Praxis organizes its efforts around seven “impact strategies,” which support underserved communities, promote responsible business practices, and bring faith into everyday financial decisions.Speaking Truth to Power: Shareholder AdvocacyOne highlight of the report is Praxis's work in shareholder advocacy with global brands like Nike.Nike employs over a million people worldwide, many of whom are based in vulnerable regions. Praxis is part of a coalition pushing for stronger human rights protections in the supply chain, including safeguards against wage theft and exploitation. Every worker deserves to have their God-given dignity respected.Praxis is also collaborating with companies such as Coca-Cola and Nestlé to address child labor and wage theft in the global sugar supply chain, advocating for third-party audits and increased transparency.Positive Impact Bonds: Financing ChangeBeyond advocacy, Praxis invests in bonds that directly benefit communities. Recent purchases include:World Bank IDA Program Bonds, targeting extreme poverty with measurable results.Green and Sustainable Bonds from Freddie Mac, which expand affordable housing and environmental stewardship. These investments generate jobs, improve access to healthcare, and help communities thrive—all while providing competitive financial returns.Real Stories of TransformationPraxis' report also shares stories of hope, such as the expansion of Always Keep Progressing, a Miami therapy center that serves children with special needs. Through investment partnerships, the clinic now helps more than 400 families. This is redemptive investing in action. It's about fostering human flourishing, not just financial gain.Praxis also partners with Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and credit unions that serve neighborhoods often overlooked by traditional banking systems. These organizations offer small business loans, enhance access to healthcare, and provide support to underserved rural and urban areas.Whether here in the U.S. or abroad, CDFIs are helping communities gain access to capital and create opportunities. The Momentum of Faith-Based InvestingMore Christians are realizing that their portfolios can reflect their values.Scripture calls us to care for the poor, the widow, the orphan, and the foreigner. When our faith aligns with our financial actions, even small changes can move markets toward justice. This includes proxy voting, which Praxis views as a form of corporate discipleship—using investor influence to advocate for fair labor, environmental stewardship, and other critical issues. How to Get StartedStart by asking yourself a simple but important question: “Do my investments reflect my faith values?” If the answer is no—or you're not sure—consider talking with a financial professional who understands faith-based investing. Every investor, whether managing a little or a lot, can play a role in shaping a redemptive economy. That's why we recommend connecting with a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA). One of the themes that often comes up on the show is giving back to the community. Today I wanted to highlight two guests who instantly come to mind when talking about giving back—the incredible heart surgeon, Sir Magdi Yacoub and META's Regional Director, Fares Akkad. This episode is part of our new segment, Double-Take, where I take a deep-dive into a single topic and connect the dots between some of our best conversations. When I spoke to Fares in late 2023, he had just come back from visiting the Za'atari Refugee Camp, where Meta has established a digital literacy program. And while Professor Yacoub already had a distinguished career as a cardiothoracic surgeon, he's leaving behind an even bigger legacy through his charity, Chain of Hope, building long-term impact on the lives of the children in developing communities. It's Monday, August 25th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 2 arrested in Illinois church arson Authorities in southern Illinois, responding to a call on July 24, have arrested two men in connection with the arson and vandalism of McKinney Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in the town of Marion, reports International Christian Concern. Damage estimates to the property are expected to exceed $300,000. Ethan Lam, arrested on July 30, and Chad Krueger, arrested on August 14, were both charged with place of worship arson and criminal damage to property. Attacks on American churches throughout the nation appear to be more prevalent in recent years. Romans 1:29-30 says, “They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are … God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents.” Kamala Harris' disastrous appearance on CBS' Late Show Former Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on CBS's Late Show with Stephen Colbert last month promoting her new book entitled 107 Days, reports Newsbusters.org. It was a disaster. Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, tweeted, “Colbert lost CBS $40 million dollars a year because not enough people watched, so CBS canceled it. Kamala cost her donors $2 billion dollars in 107 days and she lost in an electoral landslide. America rejected both of them, so now they're blaming America. Look in the mirror!” Take a listen to Stephen Colbert who makes wildly inaccurate claims about the national American mood and Trump's second term. It's followed by another characteristic “word salad” by Kamala Harris that doesn't make a lick of sense. Listen. COLBERT: “The national mood is so grim in many ways. And people are so shocked by the abuses and the abhorrent corruption …” HARRIS: “Yep.” COLBERT: “and the violence against neighbors happening in the United States …” HARRIS: “Yeah. Understandable.” COLBERT: “by our government …” HARRIS: “Yeah.” COLBERT: “and the free reign being given by Congress and the Supreme Court to this President, …” HARRIS: “Yeah.” COLBERT: “that just, less than a year ago, things were very joyful. There was, there was actually a lot of hope associated with your campaign, and there was a lot, there was a lot of promise that we might actually not only keep this absolute barbarian out of the White House …” HARRIS: “Yeah.” COLBERT: “but also we might actually make progress as, as a country with the type of people that we wanted to see in office, and a younger, more vital …” HARRIS: “Yeah.” COLBERT: “revived political consciousness in America. What do you think of when you look back at that, that time and that feeling?” HARRIS: “What I look back at is, as I said, how people realized the commonality and the collective strength and our collective love of our country. We love our country. And the thing about that experience is exactly what propels me to think about this moment and the future and not look back too much, which is: those same people, they're still here.” For the men of the late night comedy talk shows, the first half of 2025 was an instance of history repeating itself. According to a NewsBusters study, 99 percent of their political guests were on the Left, matching the result for the last six months of 2024. Black pastor rejoices that Black Entertainment suspended its Hip Hop awards show Pastor John Amanchukwu said that revival may be burgeoning in the black community, and that he believes interest is waning in what he described as the debauchery afflicting much of black pop culture in recent decades, reports The Christian Post. Amanchukwu, an author and preacher from North Carolina who wrote the 2022 book Eraced: Uncovering the Lies of Critical Race Theory and Abortion, also suggested the Left has done much to alienate many black men, a trend he claimed manifested during the 2024 presidential election. Amanchukwu, who was formerly a football player for North Carolina University, recently spoke out on his podcast in favor of the decision of Black Entertainment Television (BET) indefinitely suspending its Hip Hop Awards and Soul Train Awards after 38 years. The 2025 BET Awards in June saw a significant drop among the key 18-49 demographic, cratering by almost 50% from the 2024 ceremony, according to TV Ratings Guide. AMANCHUKWU: “BET suspending these award shows isn't a cultural tragedy. It's a long overdue mercy killing. “These ceremonies became annual worship services for filth, degrading women, and the men allowed the women to be exploited.” Proverbs 11:22 says, “Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.” AMANCHUKWU: “It glorified violence and celebrat[ed] ghetto dysfunction. That is the culture that they're trying to push upon blacks. “To see that these award shows are going away, that is a good sign for black America. It means that not enough minorities are tuning in because they have become disinterested. That is a good thing.” Purposeful vacation in Branson, Missouri this fall Want to take a purposeful family vacation to Branson, Missouri? Cracker Barrel's woke rebranding cost the chain almost $100 million And finally, Cracker Barrel, a restaurant and gift store chain with a Southern country theme, lost almost $100 million in market value last Thursday after its stock plunged following the release of a new, sanitized logo, reports CBS News. It was founded in 1969 and today operates 660 locations across America. The new design eliminates a longstanding drawing of an overall-clad man leaning against a barrel, in favor of a cleaner logo featuring just the chain's name. The man and barrel in the old logo represented "the old country store experience where folks would gather around and share stories." According to Cracker Barrel's own website, the man they eliminated from the logo is based on Uncle Herschel McCartney, the real uncle of Cracker Barrel founder Dan Evins. Ken Blackwell with the Family Research Council wrote, “He wasn't a corporate mascot; he was family. His values inspired the restaurant's entire culture, and they even named a breakfast plate after him. Now, Cracker Barrel's corporate leadership has erased him. The logo has been stripped down into bland, soulless minimalism in the name of ‘modernization.' But let's be honest: this isn't modernization. It's the same tired playbook we've seen from Bud Light, Target, and Disney … sacrificing tradition to appease activists who never even eat there. And the result is always the same: go woke, go broke.” Shares of Cracker Barrel fell $4.22, or 7.2%, to $54.80 per share in Thursday trading, shedding $94 million in market value. The stock had dipped to a low of $50.27 earlier in the day, representing a loss of almost $200 million in its capitalization. However, it's not just about the logo redesign, but the new menu items and redecorated stores that eschew the chain's old-timey approach in favor of a more modern taste and look. Some suggest that the woke changes are connected to the fact that the BlackRock Investment Firm holds 3,317,812 shares of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, which represents 14.9% of the company's outstanding shares. This substantial stake indicates that BlackRock is indeed a major institutional investor in Cracker Barrel, though not necessarily a controlling one.
