Here in London, Spring was well and truly springing this week. As Roy Ayers, who sadly passed away only recently, sang 'everybody loves the sunshine'. So this mix kicks off with an excellent Roy-inspired track from Simkid called 'Funshine', and features lots of my favourite sunshine filled selections from the past few weeks. For my 60th mix and my first mix of 2025 I thought I'd pay homage to the long dark cold nights and mix some tunes that will be sure to warm your cockles. 2018. What a year. For so many reasons. Not least because of all the awesome music and all the memories the music has for me. These are my top 20 tracks released this year, starting from no.20 through to my no.1. It's been a year defined by disco for me. The outstanding party and label Glitterbox has been a big part of this and features 5 times in my countdown, including Shapeshifters with Try My Love with the no.1 spot. And I'll never forget the moment Dames Brown performed Calling Out at Ministry of Sound earlier in the year. They come in at no.13. Joey Negro has also been stand out for me this year and his label Z Records grabs three of the top 10 spots. Here's my 20 top tracks of 2017 all mixed together into almost two hours of disco-fuelled house music. It's been a fun year watching disco samples and funky bass lines creep into the mainstream and across all sorts of electronic music.
