Sendungshinweis: FM4, Morning Show, 12.04.2025, 6 Uhr

Over the last two decades, Goldfrapp have delivered some of the coolest, smartest, and most exciting electro around. Out front, Alison Goldfrapp's voice has tread the tightrope. A multi-octave phenomenon which lends itself to dark bassy tones as well as it does to floaty ethereal sounds. But can you believe, she's never made a solo record? Until now. On the day Alison released her debut album under her own name, she joined me to Take 5. The record captures a club high, it reaches for love and bliss and so I gave her the theme “songs of euphoria”. I wanted to hear the music she'd been vibing off, or the songs that simple sent her into the clouds. From Italo-Disco to New York club classics, this is a blissful conversation about music's power to elevate. This week we have the pleasure of welcoming AKIVA to the roster, giving us a sultry selection of deep-end sounds, enjoy! -- Follow @akiva_official www.instagram.com/akiva.wav -- "The artist formerly known as The Kid Inside, AKIVA is a melodic house and techno producer/DJ/live act based in Los Angeles producing and curating music inspired by the progressive house scene of the early 2000s. Topping Beatport charts with music on U.K. underground labels Deepdowndirty and Gibbon Records and the progressive U.K. powerhouse, Pro B Tech Records. Resident on Saturo Sounds with a monthly radio and podcast series, and Identity Presents - the premier LA-based event curator, hosting and playing with Modus, Galestian, Cid Inc, Miyagi, and Dave Seaman. 2021 saw Akiva assume the role of A&R for the Saturo Sounds label imprint, releasing the "Sounds of Saturo, Vol. 2" compilation. Charting at #7 in the Melodic House and Techno, #4 in both Progressive and Organic House, #1 in Breaks, and number #4 Overall charts. Closing out the year with the #1 Progressive House release thereafter. Akiva started his journey through music with Jaco Pastorius. The rhythmically diverse and bass-driven fusion style, presented to him by his father and uncle's jazz records, prompted his purchase of an Ibanez bass guitar. Along with jazz, he developed a love of smooth tenor and alto saxophones and string sounds of the violin and viola through his love of classical music. While he was jamming out to heavy metal and classic rock in high school, Akiva discovered electronic music on NYC's KTU station. Akiva immediately started playing progressive and goa-psytrance songs with his friends at parties. House and techno music were still considered underground at that time. As the scene grew, both in NYC and abroad, he spent waking hours adding to his music collection and refining his production skills. Akiva brings passion from all of his beloved musical genres, world music, and the classical inspirations of old school techno and house, focusing on the ethereal and deep techno melodies found across the world today" -- Tracklist: 1. As teenagers, Svein Berge & Torbjørn Brundtland — the gearheads behind Röyksopp — would spend hours pondering the infinite and the impossible. Well, that doesn't seem to have stopped. Enlisting the help of electro icon Alison Goldfrapp, the conversation continues on the boppy track “Impossible.”
