Getting back into the groove and loving it.Reconnected my Podcast with iTunes this week. Numbers have soared since, made me realise how important a platform like iTunes can be. Now I am discoverable again to new people and even appear on the first page of search results for soulful, deep or even house music! That's only possible with the support of you guys over the years so a BIG thank you. This months mix has a lot of energy from early on and doesn't relinquish it until right near the end. Some fun interesting tracks in the mix from a range of sub-genres made this a cool mix to do live on the radio show.I'm slowly continuing to re-release the back catalogue from pre 2012. Long way to go as I'm finding new covers for them and remastering to make them louder.I have also started to release previously unreleased Pressure Radio shows from the last couple of years. I was holding them back because they are not perfect, but I need to not be so precious and let you hear them as they are.Keep your eye out, there will be stuff released every week.Tracklisting:1: Kx9000 - High Def2: Azymuth - Jazz Carnival (Global Communication)3: Saliva Commandos - Earth, Wind, Drum4: Hotmood - This Is Insane5: DJ Disciple, Cedric - Every Kind Of Way (Black Rub Mix)6: Reel People, Speech - I Never Knew (FOUK Remix)7: CHIPZ - Addictive8: Prunk, Ruze - Incredible9: Tuccillo - It's Not Over10: Kekko Navarro - Together11: Kings Of Tomorrow - Exquisite (K-O-T-Exquisite Mix)12: Mattei, Omich - Funky Intro (Re-Tide Vision)19: White Label Will - Half Sing It20: Tony Touch - Apaga La Luz (OG Main)21: Harry Romero - Revolution 22: CEV-s - Don't Let You Down23: Austin Ato - Discolombo24: Kaje Trackheadz - Satisfy My Love25: Alan Dixon, Mike Dunn - Bless Me Today (Mike Dunn Blackball Praise Mix)26: Massiande, Diamonddancer - Dancing Is LifeEnjoy!

In Pennsylvania it is legal for police to go through an individual's trash as long as it is placed outside for collection, as it is considered to be abandoned and no longer protected by Fourth Amendment rights. In the latest episode of The Quivercast, we chat with Moroccan surfer Ninon Mattei. She shares with us what brought her to the US, and what are the differences between the crowds here and Morocco. Ninon talks about why she isn't allowed to surf for the ISA or Olympics representing Morocco even though she has won serval National titles. She discusses some of the many trips she has went on, including surfing different QS events. Ninon talks about how good the waves are in Morocco, and if you have transportation you can score really good waves with hardly another person in sight. And is there a really big film project coming out about Ninon? Find Out!Support the showIf you like the QuiverCast here are some ways to help us keep going! I always like Coffee! Buy me a Coffee!

Her research contributes to the history of capitalism, exploring the critical relation between economic ideas and technocratic policy making. She is the author of The Capital Order: How Economists Invented Austerity and Paved the Way to Fascism. In this episode, we focus on The Capital Order. We start by talking about how the relationship between the state and the market changed during World War I, and the empowerment of workers in its aftermath, illustrating it with the example of wage relations. We discuss workers movements and their goals, and the development of austerity in reaction to it. We talk about the real goals, and the economic and social consequences of austerity. We discuss if there is any “apolitical” theory in economics, and how austerity should be viewed as a response, not to economic crises, but to crises of capitalism. We also discuss the link between austerity and fascism, and if austerity can go away. -- A HUGE THANK YOU TO MY PATRONS/SUPPORTERS: KARIN LIETZCKE, ANN BLANCHETTE, PER HELGE LARSEN, JERRY MULLER, HANS FREDRIK SUNDE, BERNARDO SEIXAS, HERBERT GINTIS, OLAF ALEX, JONATHAN VISSER, ADAM KESSEL, MATTHEW WHITINGBIRD, ARNAUD WOLFF, TIM HOLLOSY, HENRIK AHLENIUS, JOHN CONNORS, FILIP FORS CONNOLLY, DAN DEMETRIOU, ROBERT WINDHAGER, RUI INACIO, ZOOP, MARCO NEVES, COLIN HOLBROOK, SIMON COLUMBUS, PHIL KAVANAGH, JORGE ESPINHA, MIKKEL STORMYR, SAMUEL ANDREEFF, FRANCIS FORDE, TIAGO NUNES, ALEXANDER DANNBAUER, FERGAL CUSSEN, HAL HERZOG, NUNO MACHADO, JONATHAN LEIBRANT, JOÃO LINHARES, STANTON T, SAMUEL CORREA, ERIK HAINES, MARK SMITH, JOÃO EIRA, TOM HUMMEL, SARDUS FRANCE, DAVID SLOAN WILSON, YACILA DEZA-ARAUJO, ROMAIN ROCH, DIEGO LONDOÑO CORREA, YANICK PUNTER, ADANER USMANI, CHARLOTTE BLEASE, NICOLE BARBARO, ADAM HUNT, PAWEL OSTASZEWSKI, NELLEKE BAK, GUY MADISON, GARY G HELLMANN, SAIMA AFZAL, ADRIAN JAEGGI, NICK GOLDEN, PAULO TOLENTINO, JOÃO BARBOSA, JULIAN PRICE, EDWARD HALL, HEDIN BRØNNER, DOUGLAS FRY, FRANCA BORTOLOTTI, GABRIEL PONS CORTÈS, URSULA LITZCKE, SCOTT, ZACHARY FISH, TIM DUFFY, SUNNY SMITH, JON WISMAN, MORTEN EIKELAND, DR BYRD, DANIEL FRIEDMAN, WILLIAM BUCKNER, MAU MARIA, PAUL-GEORGE ARNAUD, LUKE GLOWACKI, GEORGIOS THEOPHANOUS, CHRIS WILLIAMSON, PETER WOLOSZYN, DAVID WILLIAMS, ROOFTOWEL, DIOGO COSTA, ANTON ERIKSSON, CHARLES MOREY, ALEX CHAU, AMAURI MARTÍNEZ, CORALIE CHEVALLIER, PEDRO BONILLA, ZIEGLER, JOÃO BARBOSA, BANGALORE ATHEISTS, LARRY D. Pope Benedict XVI began his papacy beseeching the faithful to pray for him, so he that “he might not flee for fear of the wolves.” Eight years later he shocked the world with the resignation of his papacy – the first such abdication in nearly 700 years of Church history – an act that ushered in a new and controversial era for the Church and the world. As new theories emerge in the post-Benedict Church, Italian Catholic historian and author Roberto de Mattei offers his expert insight into the worldview of the priest and cardinal, Josef Ratzinger — who would later become Pope Benedict XVI. Join John-Henry Westen in this exclusive interview now to unpack the challenges and limits of Pope Benedict XVI's legacy and discover how it has given way to the “dictatorial” reign of Francis and the shadow church beneath him.FIGHT FOR THE CULTURE OF LIFE ASAP! https://give.lifesitenews.comSHOP ALL YOUR FUN AND FAVORITE LIFESITE MERCH!https://shop.lifesitenews.com/FAITH-BASED FINANCIAL INVESTING IS HERE! Sam hosts Clara Mattei, Assistant Professor of Economics at the New School for Social Research, to discuss her recent book The Capital Order: How Economists Invented Austerity and Paved the Way to Fascism. First, Sam runs through updates on Kevin McCarthy entering day three of House purgatory, the FTC banning non-compete agreements from labor contracts, mass tech layoffs, foreign support for Ukraine's defense, and January 6th revelations, also diving deeper into the Fox crackdown against the McCarthy dissenters. Clara Mattei then joins as she and Sam dive right into the political nature of all economics, walking through the ingraining of social values through economic policy, and the enormous political implications behind any economic model. Next, Professor Mattei turns specifically to the policy of austerity, parsing through how it came to be viewed as a necessary party of our inevitable system of capitalism, disciplining the labor market into its position of exploitation while undermining the possibility of alternative social models. They then tackle the trinity of austerity policies, outlining fiscal austerity's dismantling of social welfare, monetary austerity reinforcing reliance on wage labor by taking away credit and employment, and industrial austerity's emphasis on privatization and deregulation to dismantle labor power. After expanding the discussion of undermining labor as a tactic to protect capital, Professor Mattei walks through the role of World War I in inspiring the political elites' shift to favor austerity, as belligerent nations had been forced to nationalize in the face of war, incidentally exposing wage-exploitation to be a political choice while highlighting the thriving (if smaller-scale) alternative economies – from guilds to coops and councils – and a post-war clamor to re-legitimize their system of capitalist exploitation. This brings them to the pivotal post-war financial conferences in Brussels and Genoa where the capitalist states brought in economic experts touting this new tactic of austerity, framing taking from the many and giving to the few as a mass sacrifice for mass benefits, taking off in European states like the UK and Italy, and setting the stage for a rising fascism that was legitimized by the liberal establishment, and a deeper and deeper acceptance of capitalism via fiscal, monetary, and industrial austerity. Wrapping up, they tie the revelations of the Great War to the revelations we saw in capitalist societies in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the parallels to the ongoing attempt to use inflation to discipline labor, before Professor Mattei walks through the role of Capital Order in helping us unpack our current political moment. And in the Fun Half: Sam is joined by Brandon Sutton as they unpack Kevin McCarthy racking up his 7th and 8th Ls since Tuesday, watch Hannity go ballistic on Boebert for obstructing governance, and explore whether the Freedom Caucus 20 actually has any semblance of a plan. They also tackle the state-level influx of anti-trans legislation, particularly looking at Montana's recent SB99, and watch what happens when Laura Ingraham accidentally invites someone who isn't a total nutjob onto her show to talk sports, plus, your IMs! Ultima puntata dell'anno. Todocampista. Jean Paul Vanoli porta in studio a Cruciani i suoi documenti.
Political Economist and Author Clara Mattei joins the podcast to discuss austerity and her new book, "The Capital Order: How Economists Invented Austerity and Paved the Way to Fascism," which was recently selected by The Financial Times as one of the best books of 2022.
A groundbreaking examination of austerity's dark intellectual origins. For more than a century, governments facing financial crisis have resorted to the economic policies of austerity—cuts to wages, fiscal spending, and public benefits—as a path to solvency. While these policies have been successful in appeasing creditors, they've had devastating effects on social and economic welfare in countries all over the world. Today, as austerity remains a favored policy among troubled states, an important question remains: What if solvency was never really the goal? In The Capital Order: How Economists Invented Austerity and Paved the Way to Fascism (University of Chicago Press, 2022), political economist Clara E. Mattei explores the intellectual origins of austerity to uncover its originating motives: the protection of capital—and indeed capitalism—in times of social upheaval from below. Mattei traces modern austerity to its origins in interwar Britain and Italy, revealing how the threat of working-class power in the years after World War I animated a set of top-down economic policies that elevated owners, smothered workers, and imposed a rigid economic hierarchy across their societies. Where these policies “succeeded,” relatively speaking, was in their enrichment of certain parties, including employers and foreign-trade interests, who accumulated power and capital at the expense of labor. Here, Mattei argues, is where the true value of austerity can be observed: its insulation of entrenched privilege and its elimination of all alternatives to capitalism. Drawing on newly uncovered archival material from Britain and Italy, much of it translated for the first time, The Capital Order offers a damning and essential new account of the rise of austerity—and of modern economics—at the levers of contemporary political power. She explains the invention of austerity politics, how it's been sold to the masses historically, and breaks down a recent Obama interview in which he carries water for what he calls, "inclusive capitalism" when presented with the possibility of transitioning to a more equitable economic system. How does austerity play into the conflict in Ukraine and various "democracy building" neo-colonial endeavors across the world? And what are the alternatives Obama found so difficult to imagine?
