Hello Elements. I hope you're doing well. It's Kayla here with Episode 59: Take A Moment. In this episode, I ask if you can set a moment aside to have a moment of silence for those who lost their lives in Afghanistan last Thursday from the 2 bombings that happened in the Kabul Airport and near the Kabul Hotel, killing 13 U.S. service members and more than 90 Afghans. There is no telling what can happen in these next coming days, especially nearing the anniversary of 9/11 that killed more than 2,000 people, so please take a moment to pray for the families and the injured. If you have any family members in Afghanistan I pray that they are safe and are away from the war happening in Afghanistan. Remember there is always some form of help that can be done for both our U.S. service men and women and Afghans, don't hesitate to lend a helping hand. Please stay safe Elements. Hey Elements. It's Kayla here with Episode 51: The Growing Crisis In India. After getting my COVID 19 vaccination I can't help but feel like life before COVID is slowly getting and I'm really excited, but then I remember that about 1/3 of the US population is vaccinated excluding children below the age of 16. Now another worry is brought to my attention as now more than ever I'm seeing the cases in India rising rapidly with little to no room for more patients, doctors at their breaking point, and more than a 100,000 people dying a day. It's time to bring awareness. It's time to do something. In this Episode I will provide you with the lives experienced by many residents in India and what you can possibly do to help. Hello Elements. I hope you're doing well. In this episode I talked to you about another killing of a Black person in the hands of police. While logging into the George Floyd Trial I clicked into the press conference of the death of Daunte Wright. I couldn't belief that another Black man had been killed by police, while the trial of George FIoyd who was also killed by police was taking place 10 miles away. Enough is Enough, stop killing Black people and then saying BS like the officer meant to grab her taser, no,no,no. That was murder. You have an officer who has been on the force for 26 years she should know what's a Taser and what's her Gun. Stop killing us. A white man can walk into Spas and kill 8 people and walk away with his life and another man who is not Black can kill 10 people, including an officer, and again walk away with his life. Welcome back Elements. It's Kayla here with Episode 46: Breonna's Law. For the past 2 weeks I've been watching the murder trial of George Floyd, and I came across a news story about Kentucky Governor, Andy Beshear, signing a partial ban on no-knock warrants. This comes in a year after Breonna Taylor's death, when officers claimed to have been searching for drug dealers. Claiming to have knocked on her door, Taylor and her boyfriend thought their home was being broken into, and began defending themselves. Officers firing more than 30 shots, shooting Taylor 6 times and killing the EMT worker. Hey Elements. It's Kayla here with Episode 35: Use Your Passion To Change The World. In this episode, I talk about James Baldwin, a playwriter, essayist, novelist, and the voice behind the civil rights movement. Born on August 2, 1924, in Harlem, New York, Baldwin used his crafts and love of writing to express his views on social and racial issues. Going on to write amazing and novels like, "Nobody Knows My Name.", "Go Tell It On The Mountain", "The Fire Next Time", and many more. Just like James Baldwin used his personal experiences to change the world, you can too. You don't have to change the world in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, do it in a way that makes you happy. For instance, doing this podcast makes me really happy (sometimes nervous), so I use my drive, passion, and love for change and put it into my craft. Do what makes you happy, and change the world. February. A month that signifies so much. Love, Sports, and Black History. This episode, Episode 34: Let Them Hear Us. is an episode that sheds light on the founders of the Black Lives Matter movement; Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. These three women have worked and continue to work toward change and promote the lives of Black people as social unrest continues to torment the lives of Black people. This month not only shed light on the amazing things our ancestors have done, but to also shed light on how far we've come as a community. We've got a bit further to go, but as long as we continue to fight for our rights as any other person, we can achieve racial equality for our next generations to come. Embrace your color, your pain, beauties (because you have beauties), and make them your own. Our Black is beautiful. We deserve greatness. We deserve to be heard. Episode 33: Be In Charge of Your Future is now here. Welcome back Elements. It's Kayla here. In this episode I talk to you about Rep. Greene of Georgia's 14th district. If you don't know who she is, she's been the talk of political news as she has promoted and even posted on her Twitter page about executing Democratic politicians and Trump's election being "stolen" from him. After the House voted and passed the decision to remove Rep. Greene from the House of Education and House of Budget Committees she gave her last two sense and it was still irrelevant. Ultimately this episode just goes to show as we grow and learn about the duties we have to do as citizens, we must educate ourselves on who we put in office. Know who they are, their aspirations, the goals, etc. Please don't just vote anyone in because they look like you or because they look good, but vote people in who will do their civil duties and protect our country. Steps such as burning fossil fuels for energy, burning and cutting down forest, farming, etc. to build our economy are quickening Global warming. Enough is Enough! It is time we start doing something to save our Earth. Whether it means turning off and unplugging a few TV's, or freezing food to save it for another time, it's time we take control of our futures for ourselves and other generations to come. Hello Gen Z, It's Kayla here with your weekly dose of reality. In this episode I take you to Argentina. Argentina has made history as it passed a law legalizing abortion for women in case of rape, health risk of mother, and for the first 14 weeks. With a vote of 38 to 29, the Senate gave Argentinians a chance to make their own choice. Of course not without a little hold back from Anti-Abortion Campaigners and Catholic Believers who believe abortions are a "domination". Ultimately the streets of Argentina were filled with crowds of Anti-Abortion and Abortion Rights Activist. After the vote was cast in and victory was given to the Abortion Rights Activist many believe this was a new accomplishment for Women and Trans on their rights to Abortions. Either I feel as though, women should always have been given the right to make their own decision on their body. As Argentina makes history for Women's Rights other countries are starting to feel pressure on their own Women's Rights Laws. This is only the beginning. Hello Elements. Welcome back to your daily or weekly dose of reality. It's Kayla here, with an episode about Scotland. Scotland became the first country to make menstruations products free in law. While writing my outline for this episode, I go back and remember when my old school began charging young females for pads or tampons. As many females found this new rule unfair, we started to question the heart of our school. It's time we stop looking for a way to make money in school and start tackling actual problems like bullying or school shootings. It's time to focus on the things that truly matter and not about how much females should pay for a pad or tampon. Rise On Elements! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kayla-jackson10/support

Hello Gen Z! It's Kayla Jackson here with your daily or weekly dose of reality. In this episode I compare and contrast the symptoms, after affects, and treatment for the Flu and the Coronavirus. Although there are not many differences, nor treatments for COVID 19, I still feel like it's important to find some kind of difference. I think the most important thing to take away from this episode is to make sure you wash your hands. If you don't have access to water and soap at least use hand sanitizer. Keep you hands from your mouth, nose, and eyes. Finally, please wear your mask. I know how hard it is to wear your mask, but just do it. If not for you, do it for others. Stay safe out there and Rise on Elements! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kayla-jackson10/support
Hi Gen Z! It's Kayla here with your dose of reality. In this episode I talk about the Breonna Taylor case as one of the three officers involved in the deadly shooting is suing Kenneth Walker, Breonna Taylor's boyfriend, for mental anguish, severe trauma, and physical pain. The audacity of this man. Someone who shot and killed Breonna Taylor is suing her boyfriend for physical pain, severe trauma, and mental anguish. Walker told 911 that someone was breaking into their apartment and that the just shot his girlfriend. When Walker opened fire he shot Mattingly in the leg. Being shot is traumatizing no doubt, but ignoring the fact that you killed a innocent person who is a healthcare provider, who saves lives everyday, who risk her life everyday to protect people for a shot leg is disrespectful. How dare you? The audacity. Rise on Elements --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kayla-jackson10/support
Welcome Back Gen Z! It's Kayla here with your daily or weekly dose of reality. This week we are covering the Kyle Rittenhouse case, with the 17 year old male who killed 2 people and injured another. As he faces trial, protestors from outside of the court house call Rittenhouse a "murderer". Rittenhouse was known for his support in the Blue Lives Matter Movement and his passion for joining the police force. Now he is known as the 17 year old male that is facing 2 counts of homicide. In an interview Rittenhouse was seen saying that he was at the protest to "protect the business". Hours later Rittenhouse was seen on video opening fire on the crowd killing 2 and injuring another. He then proceeds to get up and walk to the police officers with his hands raised and goes home. The officers later arrested him at his home. How is it that a white kid who just killed 2 people can surrender peacefully and go home and 12 year old Tamir Rice can't play with a toy gun at the park without getting gun down in 3 seconds? It's a double standard. This isn't a game. You can't just plan one day to drive 30 minutes from you home to a protest and play cop to "protect" an area you're not even from. The very person who sought to "protect" an area from dangerous personas, was the danger that the people needed to be protected from. Hi Gen Z! I hope you guys are feeling great and have a great week. In this week's episode, I will talk about the SARS brutality in Nigeria that is changing the young Nigerian minds. The Special Anti-Robbery Squad is a 1992 Nigerian group that was originally used to prevent and bring to justice the unlawful acts of crimes with firearms, motor theft, robbery, etc. at the time of Colonel Rindam's death. At first, the anonymous group helped stop those crimes, but as they grew, the abuse and torment of innocent civilians grew as well. Although the people of Nigeria signed petitions to get rid of the SARS groups, the Nigerian government has yet to truly dismantle the squad. The #EndSARS movement needs supporters. Let's support the dismantle of SARS. #EndSARS and Rise on Elements! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/kayla-jackson10/support
