Per-unit pricing for neuromodulators feels logical because that's how you buy the product. But it can create billing anxiety, invite negotiation, and keep patients focused on units instead of results.  In this solo episode, I break down how per-area pricing can improve the patient experience and make revenue more predictable. We'll look at margins, EMR data, and how to price around outcomes without guessing. Patients Shouldn't Be Doing Math in the Chair  When patients have to calculate units during a consultation, price becomes part of the treatment decision. They may ask for fewer units to stay on budget, which can compromise the result. Flat upper face, lower face, or full face pricing shifts the conversation back to the outcome and lets the injector recommend what's appropriate. Build Flat Pricing From Your Own Data  Don't pick a flat rate because it sounds cleaner. Start with your numbers:  Pull average usage by treatment area from your EMR  Include product, labor, injector commission, and membership discounts  Calculate loaded cost and target gross margin  Keep per-unit pricing where precision treatments need it  Some appointments will run higher and some lower. Born in Los Angeles, she joined NASA in 1978, and in 1983 became the first American woman and the third woman to fly in space, after cosmonauts Valentina Tereshkova in 1963 and Svetlana Savitskaya in 1982. She was the youngest American astronaut to have flown in space, having done so at the age of 32.Ride was a graduate of Stanford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature in 1973, a Master of Science degree in 1975, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1978 (both in physics) for research on the interaction of X-rays with the interstellar medium. She was selected as a mission specialist astronaut with NASA Astronaut Group 8, the first class of NASA astronauts to include women. After completing her training in 1979, she served as the ground-based capsule communicator (CapCom) for the second and third Space Shuttle flights, and helped develop the Space Shuttle's robotic arm. In June 1983, she flew in space on the Space Shuttle Challenger on the STS-7 mission. The mission deployed two communications satellites and the first Shuttle pallet satellite (SPAS-1). Ride operated the robotic arm to deploy and retrieve SPAS-1. Her second space flight was the STS-41-G mission in 1984, also on board Challenger. She spent a total of more than 343 hours in space. She left NASA in 1987.Ride worked for two years at Stanford University's Center for International Security and Arms Control, then at the University of California, San Diego, primarily researching nonlinear optics and Thomson scattering. She served on the committees that investigated the loss of Challenger and of Columbia, the only person to participate in both. Having been married to astronaut Steven Hawley during her spaceflight years and in a private, long-term relationship with former Women's Tennis Association player Tam O'Shaughnessy, she is the first astronaut known to have been LGBTQ, a fact that she hid until her death, when her obituary identified O'Shaughnessy as her partner of 27 years. Most people think buying businesses is a numbers game. Ace Chapman has done 200+ acquisitions - and he'll tell you the numbers are almost never the point. Ace has been in this game since the dot-com bubble. He almost sold a stock market simulator to a little Nebraska company called Omaha Securities - before it became Ameritrade. He got out of a real estate business right before 2008 hit. He's not lucky. He's built a framework for thinking about business ownership that most acquisition guys never arrive at, no matter how many deals they close. But here's where it gets interesting. Right now, while everyone else is hunting online businesses in the U.S., Ace is doing something completely different - buying offline deals in Latin America, where business brokers don't exist and most owners don't even know selling is an option. Hotels. Spas. Mental health clinics. Panama. Colombia. Argentina. He walked into a hotel recently and heard the front desk pitch his own spa to a guest checking in. In this episode, Jaryd sits down with Ace to unpack why he thinks every business is just inventory - and why holding on too long is the real risk most buyers never talk about. For the first time on record, experience-based tenants — spas, gyms, wellness studios, entertainment venues — are outpacing traditional goods retailers in leasing shopping center space, with wellness and fitness leading the charge. Joe Pine, Dave Norton, and Aransas Savas unpack what this shift actually means: it is not just a retail story, it is confirmation that the transformation economy Joe predicted more than two decades ago has arrived. The conversation traces the arc from malls to experiential anchors, examines why some brands (Red Bull) rode the wave and others (Nike) missed it, and lands on a provocation for any company still selling goods: if you want to sell products today, sell experiences. Joe's story about the original Nike Town in Chicago captures the mistake most brands still make: Nike Town had a line out the door and did not charge admission. Over time, goods crept back into the floor space that used to belong to basketball courts and events. Red Bull took the opposite path and became an experience company that sells an energy drink. The trajectories diverged for a reason. Experiences commoditize fast. SoulCycle opened a category; spin studios saturated it within a decade. The same glut is forming in spas and boutique gyms right now. The next move is specialization and bespoke combinations — and beyond that, transformation. Transformation is the durable business model. Experiences are episodic. Transformations are long-term engagements, which makes them long-term revenue. Aransas frames the shift cleanly: not just time well spent, but time well invested. Companies that move from experience provider to journey partner earn a different kind of relationship — and a different kind of margin. Social media is an experience platform. Influencers are in the experience business. Some investors will not touch a product today until the influencer strategy is nailed down. Advertising and packaging are shrinking as a share of how people discover and buy.
