Hey everyone! Here's the 17th episode of the Sound Good? podcast! This week we discussed the albums Slow Burn by Old Gray and Aimless by In Reference to a Sinking Ship. Both are very short and relatively concise offerings but also carry a ton of emotional weight. In that sense, Aimless may be musically "heavier" but Slow Burn is much more oppressive and hard hitting. "Nearer My God is Foxing's magnum opus." - Michael SoundGood? McSoundGood?(TM)Face For the 12th episode of the Sound Good? podcast, Michael and Micah talked about the brand new album Nearer My God by the band Foxing! This was a highly anticipated album for us and we cannot reccommend this one enough. It's tough to put this release in a box and say if you like *blank* genre then you'll like this. All you can do is check it out for yourself and decide, but for what it is, it's incredible. Here's the eleventh episode of the Sound Good? podcast! This time we jammed the albums Flying Microtonal Banana by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Days of Future Passed by The Moody Blues. Both are pretty nuts in their own right, but KG&LZ are by far the nutsest. The KG album was recorded entirely on microtuned instruments which gave the overall sound a very interesting feel. Days of Future Passed is a very cinematic late 60's progressive rock album in the same vein as bands such as Yes. Check them both out! For the eighth episode of the Sound Good? podcast, Michael and Micah discuss some sexy tones from The Black Dahlia Murder (Ritual) and some.......uhhhh, well some Strapping Young Lad (City). Ritual is a milestone of death metal from the year 2011, and City is a highly acclaimed album by one of Devin Townsend's earlier bands. We can't speak for other SYL albums, but this one didn't necessarily sit well with us which sucks because we love Devin's solo work. Finally, episode 7 of the Sound Good? podcast. We were so excited, but also nervous, when we were planning out episodes and scheduled our chat about the new BTBAM album in it's entirety.
