A key reminder from this conversation: being busy together is not the same as being connected.   Hot Topic: If your relationship had a warning label, what would it say? In this playful but insightful exercise, Sara and Anna explore the idea of relationship “warning labels”.   It's a way of looking honestly at the patterns we bring into our relationships without shame or blame.   Possible warning labels might include:   • “Avoids difficult conversations until things explode.” • “Very loving but terrible under stress.” • “Defaults to practical solutions when emotions are needed.” • “Assumes mind-reading instead of asking.” • “Forgets fun when life gets busy.”   The exercise encourages listeners to step back and reflect on their own patterns and the dynamics they co-create with their partner. Sara and Anna also explore how many relationship behaviours come from childhood experiences and family norms. What feels “normal” to one partner may feel overwhelming or unhealthy to the other.   The key insight: awareness creates the opportunity for change.   Listener Question: “My partner says ‘that's just how I am' when I raise something that hurts me.” This week's listener asks a question that highlights a very common relationship dilemma. How do you address behaviour that hurts you when your partner insists it's simply part of their personality?   Sara and Anna unpack: • why this situation often appears in anxious–avoidant relationship dynamics • the fear that can sit underneath emotional avoidance • how defensive responses can shut conversations down quickly • why “you always” and “you never” statements often make conflict worse • how changing the way we ask questions can open safer conversations • why curiosity often works better than accusation   They also highlight an important truth: it often only takes one partner to begin shifting the dynamic of communication. Someone asked me a hard question once, and I think a lot of people have asked it in their own minds, even if they never say it out loud. They said, "Is genealogy really worth doing? After you die, hardly anybody will remember you anyway. Your friends will be gone. Their friends will be gone. Your family might not even care. You can give your research to your kids, but what if they don't keep it? What if you donate it to a museum and they discard it, or the building burns down? Is this just a hobby to keep you busy, or is it a waste of time?" That question hits two fears at once. The first is that we will be forgotten. The second is that our work will disappear. Strength That Forgets The Lord | 2 Chronicles 26:1-23

Our text today is Judges 18:30-31. And the people of Dan set up the carved image for themselves, and Jonathan the son of Gershom, son of Moses, and his sons were priests to the tribe of the Danites until the day of the captivity of the land. So they set up Micah's carved image that he made, as long as the house of God was at Shiloh. — Judges 18:30-31 The tribe of Dan ends their story with idols, not inheritance. They set up a fake priesthood, a false religion, and call it "faith." It looked spiritual—but it was hollow. Everything they built was founded on force, not faith; ritual, not repentance. What began as one man's compromise became a tribe's tradition—and a nation's decay. And that's exactly where we stand today. We've kept the symbols of faith but lost the substance. We sing about Jesus but live as if His Word no longer defines truth. We've traded repentance for relevance and holiness for acceptance. The signs are flashing, and time is running short. Our culture isn't collapsing because evil is stronger—it's collapsing because truth is weaker. The light has dimmed. The Church has grown quiet. We've learned to tolerate what we should confront and bless what we should repent of. But this is not the time to coast. It's time to come back. Not next year. Not after things "settle down." Now. Because a nation that forgets God doesn't lose Him overnight—it loses Him one compromise at a time. The tribe of Dan thought they secured their future, but they only secured their judgment. And if we keep drifting from the truth, we'll do the same. God is calling His people. It's time to return to the Lord while there's still time. ASK THIS: What signs of drift do you see in your own heart or church? How can you personally help call others back to truth? What step of repentance could you take today? DO THIS: Pray daily this week for revival—in your heart, home, and church. Speak truth where others have grown silent. PRAY THIS: Lord, wake us up.
