The Smartest Man in the World podcast used to be my absolute favorite show. Greg Proops had a remarkable ability to turn any topic into comedy, and his live performances were always a hit with audiences worldwide. From funk music to politics to French movies, Proops seamlessly weaved together a diverse range of subjects that never felt disjointed. This was a revelation for me in terms of what comedy could be.
One of the best aspects of The Smartest Man in the World podcast is Greg Proops' natural humor and intelligence. His wit and knowledge are evident in every episode, making it both funny and educational. Proops covers a wide array of topics, providing interesting facts and insightful commentary along the way. His discussions with his wife Jennifer are also a highlight, as they share their adventures and showcase their fantastic taste in music.
However, one of the worst aspects of the podcast is how Proops changed after 2016. He went from being a radical lefty comedian who supported Occupy Wall Street to becoming a centrist who regularly criticized the one presidential candidate addressing those issues. This shift in perspective was disappointing for longtime fans like myself who admired his previous stance on important social issues.
In conclusion, The Smartest Man in the World podcast holds a special place in my heart for what it used to be during its prime years from 2011-2014. While it may have changed over time and lost some of its appeal for me personally, I will always remember Greg Proops as an incredibly funny and intelligent comedian who pushed boundaries in his live performances.
