Giacomo Zucco joins Walker America to discuss Bitcoin spam, ordinals, inscriptions, Bitcoin Core, Core v30 / OP_RETURN, Knots, and why he thinks the BIP-110 soft fork will fail—and why that's a problem. They break down the technical and political fight over spam filtering, consensus changes, and the future of Bitcoin nodes. Zucco argues that while spam is real, BIP-110 is the wrong solution—and its failure could damage the movement trying to fight it. Key Topics: • Plan B Lugano + the rise of Cypher Tank • Is Bitcoin Core compromised? • Bitcoin spam vs censorship: where's the line? • Core v30 vs Knots: what's really happening? • Why Giacomo thinks BIP-110 will fail • Would BIP-110 actually fix Bitcoin spam? • Ordinals and inscriptions • Should Bitcoin change consensus rules to fight spam? • Why Giacomo believes Layer 2s—not forks—solve the problem • What happens to Bitcoin if BIP-110 fails? Raising Kids Who Don't Deconstruct Their Faith | Alisa Childers

Is progressive Christianity coming for your kids — and would you even recognize it if it was? In this episode of the Everyday Educator podcast, host Amy Jones and co-host Emma Bortins sit down with author and apologist Alisa Childers to unpack what progressive Christianity actually is, why it appeals to young people, and how Christian homeschool parents can equip their children to stand firm in biblical truth. If you're raising kids in today's cultural climate, this conversation is one you can't afford to miss. Alisa shares her own story of encountering progressive Christianity through a pastor who slowly dismantled core doctrines of the faith, and how that crisis ultimately led her to study apologetics and write Another Gospel. She offers a clear definition of progressive Christianity — not by what it affirms, but by what it denies: substitutionary atonement, the authority of Scripture, the reality of hell, and the exclusivity of Christ. The conversation turns to the younger generation and how moral relativism has become the dominant worldview of Gen Z, making it harder than ever for kids to understand why biblical truth isn't just "your opinion." From there, the hosts dig into practical parenting strategies: why it's not enough to shelter kids, why you should actually show them progressive content and work through it together, and how modeling confidence in your faith can be more powerful than having a perfect answer.  What You'll Learn: - What progressive Christianity is — and the core doctrines it quietly denies - Why young people are so susceptible to progressive theology and deconstruction - How social media (including random TikTok videos) is influencing your kids' faith - Why the definition of "truth" may be the most important conversation you have with your child - A practical, age-by-age strategy for building spiritual resilience at home - How to show your kids progressive Christian content without it rattling their faith - Why holding a biblical sexual ethic feels different for Gen Z than it did for previous generations - The best apologetics resources for parents and students — including Alisa's new student edition 00:00 — Introduction & Welcome 00:29 — Introducing Alisa Childers: Author, Apologist & CCM Artist 02:18 — About Another Gospel & the Student Edition 03:09 — Alisa's Personal Story: How She Encountered Progressive Christianity 06:04 — What Is Progressive Christianity? Definitions & Core Denials 11:13 — Tracing the Gospel Arc: Where Progressive Christianity Goes Off the Rails 15:02 — Social Justice, Marxism & What Unites Progressive Christians 16:14 — Is Progressive Christianity Growing? What the Data Doesn't Show 21:21 — The Most Important Word: How You Define "Truth" Changes Everything 24:06 — Insulin or Ice Cream: Teaching Objective vs. Subjective Truth 28:40 — Loving Your Kids' Friends While Holding a Biblical Sexual Ethic 30:03 — Identity, Sexuality & Untying the Knots for the Younger Generation 36:06 — Social Media & Progressive Christianity: Where the Influence Is Coming From 40:10 — Practical Strategies: How to Raise Spiritually Resilient Kids at Home 44:25 — It's Okay Not to Have All the Answers: Modeling Faith Under Pressure 47:36 — Secondary Issues, Wrestling with Scripture & Holding Things in Tension 48:38 — Recommended Resources for Parents & Students 52:01 — Closing Thoughts: The Beauty of the True Gospel Resources: https://alisachilders.com/ This episode of Everyday Educator is sponsored by: Summit Ministries Do you want your child to have conversations that challenge, encouragement that endure, and friends and faith for life? Despite appointing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to bring his MAHA sensibilities to the administration, Donald Trump recently issued an executive order supporting domestic production of cancer-causing glyphosate and effectively shielding manufacturers like Bayer from state-level lawsuits while keeping the U.S. food system dependent on the herbicide.  Jimmy contrasts RFK's past legal battles against Monsanto/Bayer with his current defense of the policy, framing it as a reversal allegedly driven by "national security" concerns about Chinese supply chains but actually about that old stalwart: money.  Joe Rogan's podcast RFK claimed that banning glyphosate would disrupt corn and soy production in the U.S., but critics argue there is no serious transition plan toward regenerative or alternative farming methods. Jimmy concludes the segment by determining that RFK should resign rather than go along any more with this corrosive hypocrisy. Plus segments on Bill Clinton's literally unbelievable testimony about Jeffrey Epstein and Dan Bongino's latest unhinged attack on Candace Owens. Also featuring Stef Zamorano and Mike MacRae. And a phone call from JD Vance!

Plus, how wool strings will cover the mitzvah of tzitzit for a 4-cornered garment made of linen, without a concern of sha'atnez (the reverse may not be an issue of sha'atnez either, but it's more complicated - and doesn't work - because of the blue string needing to be wool). In this episode, we explore the powerful transition of Mars, the Sun, and Venus moving through the Gandanta zone— the karmic knot between water and fire, where karmic matters get pulled apart to offer moments of transformation. As these planets leave the emotional depths of Scorpio and enter the fiery, expansive realm of Sagittarius, we collectively move through an opportunity to face change and witness what is True. Sagittarius is the sign of optimism, expansion, and Truth - but what do we need to face in order to stand in that light? As Mars, the Sun, and Venus pass through the final degrees of Scorpio, we feel intensity around transformation, power dynamics, secrets, and deep emotion. Gandanta exposes what's been buried and forces us into honesty, closure, and karmic completion. Masks slip, characters are revealed, and we have more a moment to witness reality as it is. Sag brings fire, movement, perspective, and the desire to rise above what was weighing us down. It highlights belief systems, spirituality, worldview, teachers, dogma, and righteousness — but it also invites us to embody the higher frequency of Sagittarius: adventure, inspiration, humor, exploration, and the joy of discovering new horizons. This episode breaks down:What Gandanta actually means and why these degrees feel so destabilizingHow Mars, Sun, and Venus each behave in this karmic knotHow to navigate the rise of dogmatic thinking and stay open-minded and curiousThe opportunity to hold power with graceYOUTUBE:D9 exploration:https://youtu.be/HTgYcjltyasCharacteristics of Your Spouse:https://youtu.be/i_cOvdSbjy0Soulmate Astrologyhttps://youtu.be/ExnDysvjzUwChristine:website: innerknowing.yogainstagram: astrologynow_podcastpatreon: patreon.com/astrologynowpodcast keywords: astrology, jyotish, Vedic astrology, sidereal astrology, nakshatras,  spirituality, Christine Rodriguez, aries, libra, scorpio, libra, capricorn, Nakshatra, new moon, taurus, Venus, Jupiter, Pisces, Spirituality, horoscope, retrograde, eclipse, solar eclipse, new moon, lunar eclipse

Between 18 and 25 October I had a fun and exciting sail aboard the Yria, an Oceanis 51.1 yacht, rented through Istion Yachting, 1 Poseidonos Avenue, Athens, Greece. My friend William O'Brien, Esquire, and I joined five German sailors for an adventure from Athens to the Temple of Poseidon, to Loutra/Kithnos, to Ermoupoli/Siros, to Coressia/Kea, back to the southern tip of Greece, and returned to the Alimos Marina in Athens.    Six days on the water with 2 days of spectacular winds. Magnificent views abounded, great food, free flowing Ouzo, and a special camaraderie maintained throughout the splashes and wave turbulence. No men overboard except for those that willingly jumped into the Aegean Sea for a swim.  The following recording was conducted on the second to last night aboard the Yria. The conversations were charged by a successful day's sail and lubricated with an assortment of spirits.  Along the way we discuss – Why Do We Sail (3:00), What Has Sailing Taught You (5:00), Most Beautiful Sail (6:00), Most Dangerous Sail (7:40), and Sailing Lessons Applied to Business (16:00).  This podcast is partnered with LukeLeaders1248, a nonprofit that provides scholarships for the children of military Veterans. Interweaving memoir with Hebrew poetry, Going Out with Knots: My Two Kaddish Years with Hebrew Poetry (Jewish Publication Society, 2025) illluminates author Wendy I. Zierler's literary and personal Jewish mourning journey in the aftermath of unremitting personal loss. She begins with her story: the death of both her parents in one year; the challenges she faced as a woman saying Kaddish in an Orthodox synagogue; and her decision to teach a weekly class on modern Hebrew poems that addressed grief, prayer, and God wrestling. Each subsequent chapter delves into the works of a different modern Hebrew poet—Lea Goldberg, Avraham Ḥalfi, Yehuda Amichai, Rachel Morpurgo, Rachel Bluwstein, Ruhama Weiss, and Amir Gilboa—in the order in which she translated, interpreted, and taught their poems (many translated into English for the first time). Each poet, like Zierler, comes to writing deeply connected to Jewish tradition and yet at odds with it, too. Ultimately, Going Out with Knots reflects on how a woman living in a modern Orthodox community can claim a place in the male-centered rituals that Jewish tradition prescribes for mourning, and how immersion in modern Hebrew poetry can respond deeply to both communal (COVID-19, October 7) as well as personal losses, offering a new form of theology and Torah. Rabbi Dr. Wendy I. Zierler is Sigmund Falk Professor of Modern Jewish Literature and Feminist Studies at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in New York and the coeditor of Prooftexts: A Journal of Jewish Literary History. She is the author of Movies and Midrash: Popular Film and Jewish Religious Conversation and And Rachel Stole the Idols: The Emergence of Hebrew Women's Writing and coeditor of These Truths We Hold: Judaism in an Age of Truthiness. I've wanted to get Brian Flechsig of Mad River Outfitters [49:59] on the podcast for quite a while and we finally made it happen. Brian is the star of many great YouTube videos and he loves to get into the details of tackle rigging. He's a knotted leader expert and he explains his simple three-part system for tying saltwater and bass leaders. He also talks about his use of furled leaders and the now-extinct Orvis Braided Leaders. Brian and I also discuss our favorite knots and a philosophy for choosing your own knots—always a hot topic.    In the Fly Box this week we have these questions and tips: When does it make more sense to modify a fly instead of changing flies? If you don't see any bug activity, can you still catch fish on dry flies? Why would you ever use a strike indicator when you can use a dry dropper rig? I live on a trout stream that hardly anyone else fishes. How long should I rest the river in between trips?  Will the fish move out if I fish it too hard? I saw a bunch of dead and struggling rainbows in the shallows. What do you think caused this? How can I get my Comparaduns to fan out when I tie them? When wouldn't you substitute CDC, rabbit's foot, or a synthetic when tying Comparaduns? What are your thoughts on winding foam around a hook to make flies float better? What is your favorite cricket pattern? If modern graphite rods are so stiff, why design a 5-weight rod that is really a 6-weight? How should I orient my rod when I cast to make sure I take advantage of the spine properly? I have heard that you should fish a small stream downstream so the fish doesn't see your fly line. Is this correct? A tip from a listener on how to keep fly boxes dry when wading deep. Do you ever take backpacking/fishing trips?

On Monday, bitcoin hit a new all-time high of over $126,000, but Bitcoin's biggest fight right now isn't about price; it's about purpose.  Since 2023, image files and meme tokens have clogged the network, spiking fees and making everyday payments expensive. Bitcoin Core wants to lift an 80-byte data limit that's existed since 2014. Bitcoin Knots disagrees — and has built code to enforce a different limit. Should Bitcoin stay a payments network, or evolve into a platform that stores everything from NFTs to memecoins to experimental layer 2 protocols? Blockstream CEO Adam Back and Bitcoin and Lightning developer Chris Guida debate whether removing limits on OP_RETURN protects Bitcoin from what they call “spam,” or opens the floodgates to it. Plus: the real lesson from 2014 when Vitalik Buterin left Bitcoin, why miners can bypass any filter by renting hash rate, and whether 22% of nodes running different code actually matters in a decentralized network. Thank you to our sponsors! Mantle Aptos Guests: Chris Guida, Bitcoin and Lightning Ecosystem dev and Educator Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream Timestamps:
