Angelo Ellerbee, the multimedia marketing maverick whose career has helped launch, lay the groundwork for, and legitimize the legacies of such luminaries as producer, musician, and recording artist James Mtume; singer, actress, and Broadway legend Melba Moore; and the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has finally put his wisdom and experience on paper. In 2024, while working with young titans to build and broaden their brands, Angelo guided three clients who benefited from his brilliance-Kool and The Gang, Dionne Warwick, and Mary J. Blige-into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While Angelo doesn't promise that level of outcome for everyone, he knows that if you're an entertainer, an entrepreneur, a hardworking business owner, or someone building a business from home, his tried and true tips, tidbits, and tenacity will help you sharpen your vision, be selective about your team, and gain insight into your growth, greatness, and grind-with integrity. Before I Let You Go isn't about entertainment industry gossip or quick success. Angelo Ellerbee is about forging excellence in whatever field you're passionate about, and he wants to share that with you before passing the mantle to the next generation.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.
Robert “Kool” Bell is more than just a name in music history — he's the steady heartbeat behind one of the most enduring funk, soul, and R&B bands of all time: Kool & The Gang. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Robert grew up in a musical household that would shape his destiny. When the family moved to New Jersey, he and his brother Ronald Bell — later known as Khalis Bayyan — began experimenting with music as teenagers. They first formed a jazz-influenced group called the Jazziacs in 1964, bringing together local friends who shared a love for tight grooves, horn-driven melodies, and improvisation. As the '60s rolled into the '70s, the Jazziacs evolved into Kool & The Gang — a name that reflected Robert's cool, confident persona and the collective energy of the band. Bell's bass lines became the foundation of their sound: deep, rhythmic, and endlessly danceable. Their music didn't fit neatly into one box — it was a fusion of jazz sophistication, funk grit, and R&B warmth. That genre-blending approach would prove to be their secret weapon in crossing musical and cultural boundaries.Kool & The Gang's early years were built on relentless gigging and honing their live performance skills. They became a powerhouse act on the club circuit before breaking into the mainstream with hits like “Jungle Boogie” and “Hollywood Swinging” in the early '70s. Bell's bass was front and centre, locking in with the drums to create the irresistible rhythms that would become the band's trademark. By the late '70s and early '80s, Kool & The Gang had perfected their party anthem formula. Songs like “Celebration,” “Get Down On It,” and “Ladies' Night” became global smashes, cementing their place on dance floors around the world.Robert “Kool” Bell wasn't just the bandleader — he was its anchor. His leadership helped navigate the group through lineup changes, shifting musical trends, and the unpredictable turns of the industry. While many bands faded after their initial burst of fame, Kool & The Gang adapted and thrived, appealing to multiple generations of fans. Their music found new life through sampling in hip-hop and R&B, exposing their grooves to entirely new audiences.Recognition came in waves. Kool & The Gang earned two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, and were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. They've sold over 70 million albums worldwide, and their tracks have been featured in countless films, commercials, and TV shows. Through it all, Robert “Kool” Bell remained a visible and active figure, still performing live well into the 21st century.Bell's nickname “Kool” wasn't just a stage name — it reflected his calm presence, stylish demeanor, and ability to keep the band grounded. Off stage, he's been involved in philanthropic work and entrepreneurial ventures, including a line of French wines inspired by his international travels. Yet, no matter the project, music has always been at the core of his life.Today, Robert “Kool” Bell stands as a symbol of endurance in the music industry. From basement jam sessions in New Jersey to sold-out arenas around the globe, his journey is one of passion, persistence, and an unshakable groove. Kool & The Gang's catalogue continues to inspire — not just because of the songs themselves, but because of the spirit Bell infused into every note. His story is a reminder that true legends aren't just made by hits; they're made by the dedication to keep the music alive for decades. For fans, Robert “Kool” Bell isn't just the man who played the bass — he's the reason Kool & The Gang has remained one of the most celebrated bands in funk, R&B, and soul history. And as long as there's a party to start, a dance floor to fill, or a crowd to move, you can bet that somewhere, Robert “Kool” Bell will still be laying down the groove.I hope you'll enjoy our chat today with Robert 'Kool'Bell.
Step inside the velvet-lit world of Discothèque Decadence — where the champagne flows, the bassline smoulders, and the dancefloor becomes an irresistible spell. This set drips with the kind of late-night heat that keeps bodies moving and eyes locked. From Da Lukas & Majuri's extended temptation of “Nasty Girl”, to a hypnotic reimagining of Eurythmics' “Sweet Dreams” via Steve Angello, to my own Out of Control edit of Laura Branigan's “Self Control” — every track here has been polished for maximum seduction. You'll glide through Sade's “Paradise” given fresh life by Mark Lower & Alexandra Prince, a honeyed spin on A Taste of Honey's “Boogie Oogie Oogie”, the shimmering disco mischief of KC & The Sunshine Band in an Eric Kipper extended ride, and Kool & The Gang's “Fresh” reinvented with OnDaMike's club-ready punch. Along the way, Séamus Haji & Kathy Brown, Ken@Work, Shabi, HP Vince, Groovemasta, Chewy Rubs, Eugenio Fico & Walterino, Micky More & Andy Tee, Greg Wilson and more deliver heaters you think you know… until they arrive dressed for midnight. Warm. Sexy. Sultry. Dangerous. The sound of a dancefloor you never want to leave. Press play… and don't say I didn't warn you.

Enjoy It Kurt Kjergaard BIO: From the streets of Stockholm, Marcus Christiansen is a DJ, producer, and the founder of his own label, Club Mackan. Marcus's DJ sets are built on contrast—bright melodies and deeper undercurrents shape a journey that moves between euphoric highs and emotional lows, always with the aim of putting smiles on faces and joy in motion. 【聊了什么The What】 Apple TV+ 的新剧The Studio《片场风云》是一个意想不到的亮点。 Apple TV+'s new show The Studio is an unexpected highlight. It's a Seth Rogen-created show, a dark comedy that deconstructs the entire entertainment industry with satire and structure. The show is also one of the most vivid, funny, cringe-inducing, and unafraid of self-hatred episodes we've seen in recent years. It also accurately restores the vanity and crisis of the movie content industry and how people in such a monstrous structure can live with themselves, as well as making us think about what the future of the current movie and television industry's will look like in light of the tech industry and streaming media. 【时间轴 The When】 03:59 我们为什么喜欢《片场风云》Why are we obsessed with the studio 07:14 展开说说 The Oner(第二集2)Let's dive into the Oner (ep 2) 14:52 我们对Matt Remick怎么看? Matt BorlenghiTake a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know actor Matt Borlenghi. In this episode, we chat about growing up in Los Angeles and attending the famed Beverly Hills High School. Then we discuss his godfather Jerry Vale and Matt's thoughts on nepotism in the industry. Jerry could have helped Matt along in his career, very early on, with an introduction to Martin Scorsese; but Matt turned him down. So, I dive deep on whether Matt has changed his mind about favors from friends and family. Next, we talk about how Matt's best friend seemingly changed almost overnight, once the friend got famous. Matt was a breakout star on All My Children as Brian Bodine, after having delivered a well noticed performance on the cop drama Hunter. So naturally we cover his time on the soap opera, and how his leaving, led to Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos marrying and building their empire. Then I ask Matt why he has personally participated in over 50 autopsies in Las Vegas. That's a wild story. Matt i part of the cast of the new film 'Can You Feel the Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story'; which is generating a lot og buzz about the iconic female musician. We close the episode by touching briefly on a few projects that Matt has been working on lately, and then focusing on the skateboard culture themes streetwear clothing line that he has come up with, and why he decided to move forward with it. Check out Matt in these and other projects and follow him on all the things!
