Who we are by faith... What our faith makes us to be... Has always been incompatible with this world... Today is not an exception. John 26:18-19 Ephesians 5:1-2,7 John 3:18-19
There are many things around us that feed the urge to quit the Lord's work. We have to fight against our sinful nature, people around us, and just the simple fact that the road is difficult. Galatians 6:7-10 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Romans 7:18-25 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
Horatio G. Spafford penned these words after suffering a great tragedy losing his whole family... "When peace like a river attenders my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; What ever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul." Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:6-8 that he had finished his race and kept the faith. Paul was confident in saying "there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing." Is it well with your soul? Have your sins been forgiven? Anything that your past may hold can be wiped clean by the blood of Jesus if you will only believe and call upon His name. Is it well with your soul? Have you lived a life faithful to God that you might be able to identify with Paul's remarks in 2 Timothy 4:8? Is it well with YOUR soul?
"Only one life... Twill soon be past... Only what is done for Christ will last." How To Live A Great Life Patient Endurance - continually getting up and do what is good, noble, and right. Purity - our manner and motive is pure. Please God - with every word and deed, seek to please God rather than men. Love - love others gently and sacrificially. Labor - labor for a Godly cause. Build - build up others.
Will we waste this day or will we LIVE this day? We have to make a choice. Will we choose to place our faith in the Loving, One True, Living, All-Powerful God. Or, Will we choose to run and hide out of fear.
We would remain forever condemned. Condemned: The trial has already taken place, the facts have already been proven. Condemned: The verdict has already been decided. Condemned: Found guilty and in the process of being punished, executed. John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 1 Peter 1:18-21
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. Luke 4:18-20
Today is often lost in the distraction of material things. Today is undervalued. Today is underutilized. Today is one step away from our required appointment.
Founded on the goodness of God. Made of people. Unique with its own identity. Where we keep God’s word close to our heart. Where we teach God’s word to our children. Where we practice our faith. Where we personally declare the goodness of God. Where we declare what the Lord God ahas done for us. Where the seed of the gospel is planted in young hearts and minds. Where we love one another unselfishly and sacrificially. Where we are kind to one another. A place we can find forgiveness and acceptance.
His scourging, Crucifixion, casting of lots for His clothes, His hands and feet being scarred, His death, His grave, and His Resurrection were all fulfilled prophecy.
Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
I Timothy 3: 1,4,5 1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
Titus 1:7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; 1 Timothy 3:1-2 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 Love does not define God, God defines love. No one knows the love of God like a sinner saved by grace. In salvation the sinner brings nothing of value and receives everything in Jesus Christ. No one is humbled by the love of God like a sinner saved by grace. And His love changes us.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Luke 22:19
The prayers of mature women are held to the same standard as the prayers of mature men. I Timothy 2: 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. I Timothy 2: 9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
Baptism identifies us with Jesus Christ. In public baptism we are being identified with His death, His burial, and His resurrection. When we submit to baptism we are saying the gospel story is my story. He is my Savior, I have confessed, repented, and believed in Him. It speaks of who we were, who we are, and who we desire to become, because of Jesus Christ. Baptism speaks of our desire to live a new life. A life of identification with Jesus Christ. A life that has a new walk. A life that brings glory to God.
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. 1 Timothy 2:8. This verse speaks of the identifying characteristics of prayers offered by mature men.It is the prayer not the hands that is important. This type of consistent prayer should be the practice in every setting these men may find themselves.
If we place ourselves where God can be found. If we worship Him sincerely. We will find the beginning of wisdom. Wisdom follows worship.
I Timothy 2: 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Real Chains Bind Real People. Unseen Chains That Hold Slaves Who Are Often Unaware Of Their Slavery. Forged Chains Hold, Restrict, And Kill Those Bound By Them. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
How Should Ministers View The Ministry? What Should Our Generation Of Ministers Tell The Next? What Should We Say To One Another? And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 1 Timothy 1:12
Matthew 7:13-14 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Recognizing Jesus requires a personal perspective. From Mary to Joseph to the Shepherds to Simeon to Anna to the Wise Men all found Jesus personally. No one has ever found Jesus from a distance, we must draw near to Him. Mary, Joseph, and Simeon held Him in their arms. The Shepherds drew near in wonder. The Wise Men bowed in worship. If we are not personally looking for Jesus we will never recognize Him.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us- ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

God is faithful. His faithfulness is the foundation of our life today, our hope for tomorrow and for eternity. His name is Faithful. His character is Faithful. His actions are Faithful. His faithfulness is our strength, our hope, our joy, and our song. Psalm 89:1 I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
Things do not happen by chance. There is always cause and an effect. If we do not pray then we should not be surprised that good things are not set into motion. If we do not pray then we should not be surprised when harmful things, corrupting things, painful things continue unabated. How do we set good things into motion? How do we hinder evil? How do we have our needs met? The answers are found in James 4:2 ASK !!!!!!!!!!!!
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

The Lord's Flock: Must be fed. Must be cared for. Must be led. This flock is His and He will come for them.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: ~Baptism literally means to immerse, to bury in water. ~Jesus went into the water. ~He was immersed in the water. ~He came up out of the water. Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. ~Baptism is a picture of a burial and a resurrection. ~You are either completely buried or you are not buried. ~We are burying our selfish will. ~We are publicly burying our old sinful way of living with a watery exclamation mark! ~We are rising with a new sense of purpose, to live a new life. ~To live in the footsteps and the service of Jesus Christ.

We Believe That Jesus Christ established His church during His ministry on earth and that it is always a local, visible assembly of scripturally baptized believers in covenant relationship to carry out the Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ. We Believe Each church is an independent, self-governing body, and no other ecclesiastical body may exercise authority over it. We believe that Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission to the New Testament churches only, and that He promised the perpetuity of His churches. ~ Doctrinal statement of the American Baptist Association
To be declared good by the Word of God is a rare and desirable accolade. To be worthy of being declared good by the standards of God’s Word is the pursuit of a lifetime. Barnabas was an example of a good man. His life was filled with the influence of the Holy Spirit. Every saved man has the Holy Spirit within them but not every saved man is called good. When we allow the Holy Spirit to have full influence of our thoughts, deeds, and desires we can become a man like Barnabas.
Jesus was held by: Love for us Romans 5:8. Fulfillment of God’s plans Luke 24:44-48. Compassion for the undeserving Luke 23:39-43.
What Do The Scriptures Teach: About when we become His children? About when we are given everlasting life. About when we pass from death unto life. About when we become His sheep?
