Even as we rejoice with those who have come forward to receive the sacrament on this day, we also remember the amazing work that God has done in our own lives by remembering even our own baptisms. By considering together Paul’s teaching on the continuity between the Old Testament sign of circumcision and the New Testament sign of baptism, we will be led to celebrate Christ’s redeeming work and the true and lasting eternal hope we have because of our spiritual union with Him.

More often than not, on the road to enlightenment or self-discovery or hell... just trying to be a decent human being we are met with those whom think our sh*t don't stink. Or feel offended by the way we choose to now live our life (or at least try to). Granted, some of this may simply because that person is not ready to do the work and make the change like we are, but other times it is our own ignorance in how to effectively convey our meaning, our true self, and our honest intent. Meet Amy E. Smith. She spent years finding her voice. Burried under other people’s thoughts and opinions and notions about who she should and shouldn’t be. Amy spent years as a damn-near SLAVE (drama intended) to highly restrictive religious dogma that constantly reminded her why she wasn’t enough. She was motivated by two primary things: Guilt and fear. Fear of losing salvation. Fear of not fitting in. Fear of rocking the boat. Fear of speaking her truth and losing relationships. Guilt around following her intuition when it was in stark contrast to all the religious “rights” and “wrongs”. So, Amy began uncovering who she REALLY was. Taking her opinions out for a spin. She searched out people and places where tapping into "ME" was applauded (aka. A shit-ton of coaching classes, trainings, and seminars). Where “right” and “wrong” always looked different. Amy started to develop her OWN sense of self. What she stood for. What she believed. And after a handful of breakdowns, she found her voice. And as it turns out it was there all along. The book contains letters, journals and essays written by each family member, as well as numerous original photographs, sketches and maps.Oak Island Family: The Restall Hunt for Buried Treasure (Dundurn, 2012), Lee's second book, was written for teens, young adults, and adults who are unfamiliar with the history of Oak Island. It guides the reader through the discoveries made on Oak Island starting in 1795. These discoveries are astounding and have been seen by treasure-hunters, historians and fans as proofs that an immense treasure lay within Oak Island. Oak Island Family also includes a retelling of the Restall family's experiences on the Island in a shortened version, suitable for teens. This book includes family anecdotes and around fifty sketches, maps and photos, not published in “O. I. Obsession”. Education: About five years after the accident on Oak Island, Lee was given the opportunity to attend university. Until then, she had been a grade ten dropout. At McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Social Work. Ten years later she added a two-year diploma in Fashion Arts (Sheridan College, Oakville, Ontario). Approximately ten years after that, Lee earned a Bachelor of Education degree and a Master of Education at the University of Toronto OISE, Toronto, Ontario. Learning for its own sake has become one of Lee's favorite activities. Acquiring an education that grants access to rewarding careers has been equally prized. Education has allowed Lee to spend many years of her life working with people. She enjoyed years as a hospital social worker and even more years as a high school teacher, first locally, and then in northern fly-in Cree communities.
