Xung đột ở Gaza, vụ Israel xâm phạm chủ quyền lãnh thổ của Qatar để tiêu diệt phong trào Hamas trước mắt chưa đe dọa đến những dự án đầu từ hàng trăm tỷ đô la các quốc gia dầu hỏa vừa cam kết với Hoa Kỳ nhưng đã khiến Washington khó xử. Các Tiểu Vương Quốc Ả Rập Thống Nhất, một trong 6 nước thuộc Hội Đồng Hợp Tác Vùng Vịnh GCC đã chính thức tham gia khối BRICS nơi Trung Quốc và Nga đóng vai trò chủ đạo. Một thành viên thứ nhì là Ả Rập Xê Út đã chính thức được mời tham gia nhóm các nền kinh tế đang trỗi dậy. Năm 2023 Bắc Kinh bắc nhịp cầu hỏa giải Ả Rập Xê Út, một đồng minh lầu đời của Mỹ ở Trung Đông với Iran. Riêng Qatar tuy không ngừng mở rộng giao thương với Trung Quốc, nhưng vẫn còn giữ khoảng cách với Bắc Kinh. Hoài nghi từ các đồng minh của Mỹ ở Trung Đông Có điều sau vụ Israel nhắm vào một phái đoàn đàm phán của Hamas đang có mặt tại Doha đã oanh kích một tòa nhà ngay tại thủ đô Qatar hôm 09/09/2025, căng thẳng leo thang giữa một bên là các quốc gia Vùng Vịnh, các nước Ả Rập Hồi Giáo và bên kia là Israel được Mỹ yểm trợ. Qatar dọa ngừng làm trọng tài giữa Israel và Hamas chấm dứt xung đột tại Gaza. Cùng lúc, Hoa Kỳ chỉ cảnh cáo chính quyền của thủ tướng Benjamin Netanyahu cho có lệ. Phải đợi đến 3 tuần sau sự cố nói trên thủ tướng Israel từ Washington mới chính thức bày tỏ « ân hận sâu sắc » đã vi phạm chủ quyền lãnh thổ của Qatar.   Trước Qatar, Ả Rập Xê Út từng có cơ hội thử thách tính vững trắc của đồng minh Hoa Kỳ : Tháng 9/2019 Donald Trump trong nhiệm kỳ đầu đã không có phản ứng gì khi drone Iran nhắm vào các cơ sở dầu hỏa của Ả Rập Xê Út cho dù Ryiad mua hàng tỷ đô la vũ khí của Mỹ.   Trả lời RFI tiếng Việt, chuyên gia Jean -Loup Samaan, Viện Nghiên Cứu Trung Đông trường Đại Học Quốc Gia Singapore, trước hết giải thích về tầm mức nghiêm trọng của đợt « oanh kích » nhắm vào Doha hôm 09/09/2025 không chỉ đối với Qatar mà cả với các quốc gia trong Vùng Vịnh. Jean-Loup Samaan : « Cuộc tấn công này đã gây ra phản ứng từ các nước vùng Vịnh vì nhiều lý do. Thứ nhất, đây là một cuộc tấn công bất ngờ bởi vì từ trước đến nay, việc Israel tấn công Qatar được xem như là một “lằn ranh đỏ” không thể vượt qua. Điểm thứ nhì, đây lại là một cuộc tấn công từ một đồng minh của Hoa Kỳ – điều này chưa từng xảy ra. Trước đây, các cuộc tấn công vào Qatar thường đến từ Iran, hoặc từ lực lượng Houthi ở Yemen, hay từ Irak. Nhưng lần này lại là từ Israel một đồng minh thân cận của Mỹ. Chính vì thế mà gây ra nhiều vấn đề, đặc biệt là do Washington đã kín đáo, không thực sự lên án cuộc tấn công. Điểm này khiến các quốc gia vùng Vịnh hoang mang. Họ tự hỏi liệu các thỏa thuận quốc phòng với Hoa Kỳ còn đáng tin cậy hay không và nên chăng tiếp tục duy trì mối quan hệ hợp tác quân sự với Washington? » Tựa như trong trường hợp của Ả Rập Xê Út sáu năm trước đây, lần này Qatar và các nước trong Vùng Vịnh tiếp tục thất vọng về thái độ của Hoa Kỳ. Mới tháng 5/2025 các quốc gia này đã trải thảm đỏ đón tổng thống Trump. Abou Dabi cam kết đầu tư 1.400 tỷ vào Mỹ trong 10 năm. Nhà Trắng khoe đã thu hoạch 1.000 tỷ đô la tại chặng dừng ở vương quốc Ả Râp Xê Út. Còn Qatar hứa đầu tư thêm 10 tỷ đô la vào Mỹ và như Donald Trump giải thích 10 tỷ đô la đó sẽ « nẩy nở thành 12.000 tỷ đô la trong tương lai » cho kinh tế Hoa Kỳ. Riêng trong trường hợp của Qatar, nhà sản xuất thứ nhì của thế giới về dầu hỏa và khí đốt này còn chiếm một vị trí then chốt từ quân sự, ngoại giao đến kinh tế trong chiến lược của Washington tại Trung Đông. Đây là nơi 10.000 quân Mỹ đang đồn trú tại căn cứ quân sự Al Udeid, căn cứ lớn nhất của Hoa Kỳ tại Trung Đông. Jean-Loup Samaan, đại học Singapore điểm lại mối quan hệ khá tốt đẹp và hiệu quả của Qatar. Jean-Loup Samaan : « Về mặt ngoại giao, Qatar đóng vai trò trung gian trong nhiều hồ sơ, như trong đàm phán giữa Mỹ và Taliban – Qatar đã đóng vai trò then chốt trong việc Mỹ rút khỏi Afghanistan năm 2021. Ngoài ra, trong vấn đề Palestine, Qatar cũng là một nhân tố trung tâm khi hỗ trợ các cuộc đàm phán với Hamas cho đến thời điểm hiện tại. Về mặt quân sự, Qatar là nơi đặt Bộ tư lệnh trung tâm của Hoa Kỳ tại khu vực Trung Đông – tức là bộ chỉ huy của quân đội Mỹ phụ trách khu vực này đặt tại căn cứ quân sự Al Udeid Điều đó đặc biệt đáng chú ý khi đặt trong bối cảnh các cuộc không kích của Israel – vì có hàng ngàn binh sĩ Mỹ hiện đang đóng quân thường trực tại Qatar ». 10 tỷ đô la : keo sơn giữa Doha và Washington  Jean-Loup Samaan : « Qatar cũng là một đối tác kinh tế của Mỹ. Hai quốc gia này không còn phụ thuộc nhiều vào nhau về về mặt năng lượng như trước bởi vì Mỹ đã trở thành nhà sản xuất và xuất khẩu năng lượng lớn trong vòng 20 năm qua. Tuy nhiên, Qatar vẫn là một lực lượng tài chính quan trọng – quỹ đầu tư quốc gia của Qatar rất lớn, đầu tư vào bất động sản cao cấp và công nghệ mới. Ví dụ, trong chuyến thăm vùng Vịnh mùa xuân vừa rồi của tổng thống Trump, ông đã đến Qatar và có nhiều thông báo về các khoản đầu tư lớn của Qatar vào kinh tế Hoa Kỳ.Đây là một khía cạnh đáng chú ý trong quan hệ song phương ». Năm 1972 Mỹ thiết lập bang giao với Qatar. Từ đó đến nay quan hệ ngoại giao, quân sự liên tục phát triển « tốt đẹp » hợp tác song phương được phát triển mạnh me trong nhiều lĩnh vực từ quốc phòng đến năng lượng thương mại, đầu tư. Nhân dịp tổng thống Donald Trump vừa công du Qatar tháng 5/2025, Doha thông báo hợp đồng 96 tỷ đô la với tập đoàn Boeing, đầu tư thêm 2 tỷ vào lĩnh vực quốc phòng, 1 tỷ đô la để phát triển công nghệ mới … Chung cuộc, tổng thống Trump trở về Washington với cam kết 10 tỷ đô la đầu tư của Qatar vào Mỹ trong những năm sắp tới. Giới quan sát cho rằng 10 tỷ đô la đầu tư đó là keo sơn, gắn chặt hơn một chút nữa cho liên minh giữa Doha với Washington đề phòng trước những « áp lực và mối đe dọa tiềm tàng của khu vực ». Trong nhiều năm, Qatar từng bị Ả Rập Xê Út, Các Tiểu Vương Quốc Ả Rập Thống Nhất, Bahein và Ai Cập « phong tỏa » về mặt ngoại giao với lý do, Doha dễ dàng bắt tay với các tổ chức khủng bố…   Vậy liệu rằng Mỹ bênh vực Nhà nước Do Thái có thể làm gián đoạn các mối quan hệ này, đặc biệt là về mặt kinh tế hay không ? Chuyên gia về Trung Đông tại Đại Học Quốc Gia Singapore trả lời  : Jean-Loup Samaan  : « Cho đến nay thì chưa. Phía Qatar đưa ra các tuyên bố ngoại giao khá thận trọng. Họ phân biệt rõ ràng giữa lập trường về Israel mà Doha mạnh mẽ lên án với lập trường của Mỹ. Hiện tại Qatar cho rằng về cơ bản, các cuộc tấn công không làm thay đổi quan hệ với Washington. Tuy nhiên, chúng ta sẽ phải chờ trong vài tháng tới để xem liệu có tác động nào về mặt ngoại giao hay quân sự. Còn về kinh tế, hiện tại rất khó để nói, nhưng có thể chắc chắn rằng Qatar sẽ tránh đối đầu trực diện với chính quyền Trump. Họ sẽ không thực hiện các biện pháp trả đũa kinh tế đối với các công ty Mỹ – điều đó có vẻ rất khó xảy ra ». Ông Samaan chú ý hơn cả đến « dư âm » đối với toàn khu vực Vùng Vịnh và thế giới Hồi Giáo từ vụ quân đội Israel truy đuổi một nhóm của phong trào Hồi Giáo Palestine đang có mặt tại thủ đô Doha để đàm phán trong đợt oanh kích hôm 09/09/2025   Jean-Loup Samaan : « Đúng vậy, tác động của đợt oanh kích này được cảm nhận rõ rệt bởi cả sáu quốc gia trong Hội đồng Hợp tác vùng Vịnh – bao gồm Qatar, Ả Rập Xê Út, Bahrain, Các Tiểu Vương Quốc Ả Rập Thống Nhất UAE và Kuwait. Lý do là vì nếu Qatar có thể bị tấn công, thì 5 quốc gia còn lại cũng có thể là mục tiêu tiếp theo và đó cũng là nhóm các nước ở vùng Vịnh phụ thuộc nhiều vào sự hiện diện quân sự của Mỹ. Ả Rập Xê Út đã nhanh chóng phản ứng qua việc công bố một hiệp ước quốc phòng mới với Pakistan – dù thông tin chi tiết chưa rõ, nhưng có một điều khoản tương trợ lẫn nhau nếu một trong hai bị tấn công. Đây là dấu hiệu cho thấy các quốc gia vùng Vịnh đang xem xét những lựa chọn thay thế cho quan hệ chiến lược với Hoa Kỳ. Họ biết rằng sẽ không có quốc gia nào thay thế hoàn toàn vai trò của Mỹ, nhưng họ sẽ tìm cách đa dạng hóa quan hệ đối ngoại – đặc biệt là hướng tới châu Á ». Trung Quốc là một « lựa chọn thay thế » ? Jean-Loup Samaan  : « Về kinh tế, đã có sự cạnh tranh giữa Trung Quốc và Mỹ tại vùng Vịnh trong vài năm trở lại đây – đặc biệt là trong lĩnh vực cơ sở hạ tầng và công nghệ mới như trí tuệ nhân tạo. Song, tôi không nghĩ các quốc gia vùng Vịnh sẽ đột ngột chuyển đầu tư của họ từ Mỹ sang Trung Quốc. Chính quyền Abou Dabi đã đầu tư mạnh vào trí tuệ nhân tạo và từ hai năm nay, điểm đến là Hoa Kỳ mà điển hình là hợp đồng rất lớn hồi 2024 với Microsoft năm 2024 và sau đó vương quốc này cũng đã thông báo sẽ giảm đầu tư vào Trung Quốc. Với những dự án như vậy, rất khó để một sớm một chiều thay đổi điểm đến. Do vậy, tôi không nghĩ Trung Quốc nhanh chóng chiếm lợi thế trong tình huống này, cho dù hướng đầu tư vào Hoa Lục là một khuynh hướng đã nhận thấy từ một vài năm trở lại đây và điều này không liên quan gì đến vụ tấn công nhắm vào Doha hôm 09 tháng 9 vừa qua » .    Tháng 5/2025 Bắc Kinh cho phép một quỹ đầu tư của Qatar (QIA) mua lại 10 % vốn của một quỹ bất động sản Trung Quốc AMC. Trung Quốc là đối tác thương mại quạ trọng nhất của Qatar. Trong hai thập niên, từ 2004 đến20 24 tổng trao đổi mậu dịch của Trung Quốc với 6 nước vùng Vịnh đã được nhân lên gấp 10 lần. Cũng nhà nghiên cứu Jean-Loup Samaan, trong một bài tham luận đăng trên trang nhà của Việt Quan Hệ Quốc Tế Pháp năm 2021 đã nhắc đến hiện tượng Doha « bị kẹt » trong cuộc đọ sức giữa Bắc Kinh và Washington. Trung Quốc là nơi đang nắm giữ chìa khóa tăng trưởng của Qatar nhưng về mặt chiến lược, như nhiều quốc gia khác trong khu vực, Qatar vẫn đứng ngoài quỹ đạo của Bắc Kinh. Doha hiện là một mắt xích quan trọng trong kế hoạch Gaza tổng thống Hoa Kỳ Donald Trump vừa trình bày nhân dịp tiếp thủ tướng Israel. Trước đây, các vòng đàm phán giữa phái đoàn Mỹ và đại diện của Taliban từng bí mật diễn ra tại thủ đô Doha. Căn cứ quân sự Al Udeid cũng là nơi hơn 40.000 nhân viên của Mỹ và Afghanistan sơ tán khi Hoa Kỳ rút quân khỏi Kaboul tháng 8/2021. Qatar không chỉ có đô la và dầu hỏa, khí đốt, mà còn là một « đồng minh không thể thiếu của Mỹ ở Trung -Cận Đông ». Nếu như ảnh hưởng của Trung Quốc tại khu vực này và nhất là đối với Qatar ngày càng lớn, chưa thể cho rằng Bắc Kinh là một « chọn lựa thay thế » Hoa Kỳ trong mắt các quốc gia vùng Vịnh. Cũng không có chuyện vì Washington ủng hộ Nhà nước Do Thái mà các nước Ả Rập Hồi Giáo chuyển hướng đầu tư đi tìm những bãi đáp mới. 

Faith for the Coming Wilderness (7) (audio) David Eells – 9/28/25 Father, we ask You in Jesus' name that Your power, Your anointing, Your wisdom be in this study, and not only that, Lord, we ask that You would bless the people who are reading and hearing this will have eyes to see and ears to hear. We ask that You would bless them and that Your anointing will go into their heart, that the Word and the truth will go into their heart to put the courage of the Lord in them. We thank You, Father for this opportunity to share with the brethren, and we thank You so much for blessing all who are studying with us, in Jesus' name. I'm going to continue with our study on faith for the coming wilderness, and I want to share with you how you can prepare yourself for this wilderness. Let's start in (Heb.12:22) But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels, (23) to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect. The text here is about going to Zion, going to the City of God, and becoming a member of the “just men made perfect.” (25) See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned [them] on earth, much more [shall not] we [escape] who turn away from him that [warneth] from heaven. Some people think they're going into a great escape. They think they're going in the rapture, but obviously, the escape here is not talking about their kind of escape. You see, they're refusing the warning of God and they are not getting prepared. I learned a long time ago that whether you go or whether you stay, you have to do the same thing: you have to prepare. Even if your theology is wrong, if you're walking in the steps of Jesus Christ, then you'll be ready for what is coming because God has prepared tribulation for His people. Tribulation is coming upon the whole world, people. We have to be careful to accept His warning from Heaven. He is going to shake this world. Even right now, as a matter of fact, we are in a pre-tribulation shaking that God is going to use to bring in the New World Order. Some people insist that God doesn't have anything to do with that, but He does. He is the One Who is uniting the whole world against apostate Christianity, just as He has always done throughout all the Scriptures. Every time God raised up a new world order, it was to persecute His people who had fallen into apostasy. We know this is so because (Ecc.1:9) That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. God just repeats history and He always takes the credit for it. (Ecc.3:15) That which is hath been long ago; and that which is to be hath long ago been: and God seeketh again that which is passed away. In Isaiah, the Lord takes credit for raising up the Assyrian Empire against His people. (Isa.10:5) Ho Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, the staff in whose hand is mine indignation! (6) I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. (7) Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off nations not a few. The Lord put it in their hearts to come against His people and plunder them. Today, since His people are worldwide and not just little, natural Israel, God is raising up a worldwide Beast to come against His people. It's God, saints! God is behind all of it! (Eph.1:11) In whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will. God works all things after the counsel of His Own will, and “all things” doesn't leave out much, does it? Just because He uses vessels of honor and vessels of dishonor, some people like to give credit to the vessels of dishonor, but no, it's the Lord; it's all the Lord. He's working all things together for our good. (Rom.8:28) And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, [even] to them that are called according to [his] purpose. And what does He say here in the rest of this text? (Heb.12:26) Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven. (27) And this [word,] Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. Listen to me, God is going to shake everything so that only His Kingdom remains. The reason for the shaking is to break all of the strength of man, to break all of the power of man's ability to save himself. Do you know why so many people are going to run to the Lord in these days? It's because they've always depended upon their own power in the past, but God is going to take away the ability of people to save themselves. I've mentioned some of the judgments that have already come to the Gulf Coast of America. Hurricane Katrina in 2005, for example, flooded New Orleans and killed over 1,800 people but it also knocked out about 80% of the oil production, which really hurt the trucking industry and the farmers. The Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010 and its use of Corexit oil dispersant was a great catastrophe that poisoned the Gulf and destroyed the fishing industry, but we're just seeing the beginning of these things. It's going to get a lot worse. Places in this country that never see hurricanes have seen hurricanes, but some of those that don't see hurricanes are going to see earthquakes. There are going to be nuclear attacks, there are going to be biological attacks. It will come to the point where there won't be jobs, there won't be gasoline. It will come to the point where the water is poisoned, and the air is poisoned. It will come to the point where there's nothing that man can do to save you, and you won't be able to do anything in the flesh to save yourself. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken so that men will turn to the only Savior because it is in our weakness that God's power will be made manifest. (2Co.12:9) And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. His power is made perfect in our weakness. (Heb.12:28) Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe: (29) for our God is a consuming fire. So, not only is He shaking the earth, He's burning up the wood, hay and stubble of our lives. He's a consuming fire. Back when I was a very young Christian, my wife had a dream in which she saw me standing on a rock in the middle of a vast ocean, and it seemed that this was the only thing that was above the water. I was standing on this rock with leg braces on, like those a polio victim would have. At that time, I didn't know much about the ways and the work of the Lord, but the Lord really spoke to me through that dream. He showed me that the waters represented the curse of the Word on this world, just like the flood waters in the time of Noah represented the curse of the Word upon the world. The flood waters were the curse of the Word upon the wicked who had disobeyed God's Word, but at the same time, the waters were salvation to Noah and those who were in the ark floating above. God said through Moses, (Deu.11:26) Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse: (27) the blessing, if ye shall hearken unto the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day; (28) and the curse, if ye shall not hearken unto the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. The Word of God is a blessing to those who are humble and submitted to it; it's a blessing to those who are walking in it, but it's a curse to those who rebel against it. And the curse is coming to take away everything that God's people have depended upon other than Him. He's a jealous God (Exodus 34:14; Deuteronomy 6:15; Joshua 24:19; etc.) He wants to be our only Savior, which is why He's bringing us to a place of great weakness. Being weak to save ourselves is a part of God's salvation; it's not just faith. (Php.4:13) I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me. We can do all things through Christ; He's the One Who strengthens us. The problem is that we're used to working things out ourselves, rather than trusting in the Lord. We're used to working things out ourselves, rather than putting our faith in Him and resting in Him to bring it to pass. We, ourselves, are the biggest hindrance to receiving the benefits of God. This shaking that's coming is for the purpose of judging all the “gods of Egypt,” as God said about His people who were in bondage in Egypt, in bondage to the old man. (Exo.12:12) For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord. That represents Christians today and their gods, which are the things and demons they serve and God wants to rid them of in their wilderness experience. Christians today have been in bondage in Egypt. They've been in bondage to the old man, the Egyptian. The old man was the one who died in the baptism of the Red Sea (Exodus 15:4; Acts 7:36; Psalm 106:9; etc.) and the new man, the Israelite, is the one who came up on the other side. (Hebrews 11:29; Nehemiah 9:9-10; etc.). Well, the Lord brought those judgments upon Egypt to set the Israelites free from bondage to their worldly lusts. You realize that this is now us. That's the people of God. We've been in bondage in Egypt but now we're coming to our wilderness and the wilderness, of course, is the Tribulation (Revelation 12 and 17). We're coming to the same point in time as Israel when they were about to start their wilderness, and I was given a revelation about those braces I was wearing in my wife's dream. I learned they represented an external strength that was going to come to me, a strength from God that would enable me to stand on the Rock of Jesus Christ when the curse is everywhere around us. You know this is what God's going to do. (Zec.4:6) Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel (meaning: born from Babylon), saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. This is what God's going to do for a people who cannot save themselves, who cannot provide for themselves, in a wilderness experience. God Almighty is going to do it. He is going to be our strength. When our strength is worn out, He's going to be there. And He is a consuming fire. He's going to burn up all the wood, hay, and stubble through the Tribulation that we're going through, until only the gold, silver, and precious stones will be left of those who are truly His elect. (1Co.3:10) According to the grace of God which was given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder I laid a foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let each man take heed how he buildeth thereon. (11) For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (12) But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble (the last three, which burns in the fiery trial, leaving only what is valuable in the Kingdom.); (13) each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man's work of what sort it is. (14) If any man's work shall abide which he built thereon, he shall receive a reward. (15) If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire. Many years ago, I used to work for the Exxon Refinery in Baton Rouge, and one day, I got a little revelation, and I'm going to share it with you: it's pretty neat. When I was a machinist, I worked on a lot of pumps, drivers, turbines, jet engines, and things like that. It was interesting to me because I was a very mechanically minded person. Now, a pump is basically a shaft that goes through a housing, and inside the housing there are impellers to pump the fluid, but the fluid needs to be sealed somehow to keep it from coming down the shaft and out of the pump. Well, usually it's a seal, but sometimes it's what we called “packing.” Packing is something that's kind of like rope with different substances mixed in with it and we would pack that rope around the hole. Then we would use a gland with bolts to pull the packing up in there to seal between the shaft and the housing of the pump. So, anyway, the shaft might be turning at 3,600 rpms or 3,700 rpms, or even more, in some cases. The shaft is running very, very fast, and depending upon the size of the shaft, there's a lot of friction there, but no matter what kind of packing we would use, if we tightened up the gland too tight to try to seal off the leak, the friction would cause that packing to get very, very hot. In some cases, it would smoke, and in some cases, it would even catch on fire. You had to loose the packing just enough to have the right amount of fluid come through there so that it wouldn't leak out, but at the same time would lubricate the packing. It was a ticklish situation because, if the packing got a little old, sometimes you couldn't tighten up on it at all. It would smoke and leak. We continually had a problem come up where a pump that had been running for a while, and we had to try to tighten the packing up, and it would start smoking, but if you didn't tighten it up, it would leak, so it was kind of a catch-22 situation. Finally, we had a salesman come by who brought some packing that they called Graphoil, and I tried it one day in a pump that was very ticklish. It didn't matter what kind of packing you put in there; if you tightened it up very much, the packing we had would just start smoking because it was a hydrocarbon. And if it got hot enough, it would catch it on fire; the fire would literally be coming out of the hole of the shaft of the packing. So we bought this new product, this graphoil, and I was going to test it for them. I shoved that stuff up in there, and I tightened down on it, and I found I didn't have to tighten down on it very much until it sealed off the leak. The salesman said, “Well, tighten down on it some more.” I said, “I don't want it to catch on fire and burn up.” But he insisted, “No, don't worry about that and just tighten down on it some more,” so I did. I tightened down on it some more, and I told him, “Man, this is pretty good stuff. It doesn't catch on fire.” And he said to me, “Tighten down on it some more.” So, again, I tightened down on it, and nothing was leaking out, but it still wasn't smoking or catching on fire. I asked, “What's the deal here? How come it doesn't burn?” And do you know what he answered me? He said, “It doesn't burn because it's already burned; it's totally burned. It's all graphite; there's no rope in there. It's all totally burned graphite, so it can't burn because it's already totally burned when you put it in there.” Do you remember when they burned up all the diseased cattle over there in England during the Mad Cow Disease outbreak? They did that because that was the only way to destroy the prions that caused the disease. A fire purifies any contaminant, and what's left can't really be destroyed; it's already burned, it can't be burned anymore. It was as if that salesman was comparing our God to being a consuming fire. Ashes are pure, and that's the revelation! We're going into the fire, saints, to be purified, so that this world can't touch us and so that we won't ultimately go in the big fire. By His grace and by His power, God is going to make us able to go through this consuming fire until there's nothing that the world can do to us, until there's nothing but His fruit and His life in us. Hallelujah!! Paul called it a “baptism” when the Israelites went through the Red Sea and into the wilderness. (1Co.10:1) For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; (2) and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea. Do you know what we're doing in our baptism? We're celebrating the victory of the death of the old man because he died at the cross, just like the Israelites celebrated the victory when the old man was put to death at the Red Sea. (Exo.15:1) Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: The horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. The “horse and his rider” represented the old man who was coming after them to bring them back into bondage. The horse was the beast, the flesh that had been harnessed to serve the old man, and this is what went down in the Red Sea. I'm not talking about the body; I'm talking about the appetites of the natural man to serve the mind of the flesh. The rider and the strength of the flesh that was harnessed to serve that rider, who was the old man, died in the Red Sea, died in the baptism, and they were celebrating the victory. It's the same thing we do at baptism: (Rom.6:11) Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus. We reckon ourselves to be dead unto sin but alive unto God, or in other words, we reckon that the old man can no longer do us harm and we continue to walk by faith in that. Many people believe the devil, or they believe the old man, or they believe the world, and by doing that, they give authority to the old man to bring them back into bondage. You need to believe what the Bible says: (Rom.6:1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? (2) God forbid. We who died to sin, how shall we any longer live therein? (3) Or are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (4) We were buried therefore with him through baptism unto death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. (5) For if we have become united with [him] in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of his resurrection; (6) knowing this, that our old man was crucified with [him,] that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin; (7) for he that hath died is justified from sin. (We reckon that old man to be like the graphoil packing; he is already burned up; there is nothing left for the big fire at the end.  The valuable stuff left doesn't burn. We consider the old man to be dead and the new man to be alive. If you walk in that faith, you'll find you have power when you are in the trials and tribulations of life, and the old flesh wants to take over. You'll have power when the devil tells you that you don't have authority. You'll have power when the devil tells you that you don't have more power than him. You'll have power when the devil tells you that he's the giant in the land and you can't overcome him. By faith, if you will celebrate the victory that you were given when you became united with Christ in the likeness of His death, you'll find that you have power over the old man. The Israelites always kept forgetting this fact and they kept giving authority back to the old man and his devil. (Exo.15:2) The Lord is my strength and song, And he is become my salvation.... What does it symbolize when the horse is put to death? It means you're no longer counting on the flesh of the beast any longer; you're no longer trusting in his power. The Lord then becomes your strength and your salvation. The people who live in Egypt trust in the Egyptians for their salvation. They trust in the strength of the flesh to save them in any situation, which is the reason God wanted to bring these Israelites into the wilderness. He wanted them where they could no longer trust in the power of man, no longer trust in their old man, their flesh, to save them. (Exo.15:2) The Lord is my strength and song, And He is become my salvation: This is my God, and I will praise him; My father's God, and I will exalt him. Yes, we're going back to our “father's God”! Paul said, (1Co.4:15) For though ye have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I begat you through the gospel. I'm talking about the apostolic fathers. We're going back to our fathers' God, not the god of apostate Christianity to which so many Christians are in bondage. We're going back to our fathers' God and we're going to trust in His salvation. You see, even after you've been baptized and you believe the Good News, the Gospel, that the old man is not a problem anymore because the Lord has already dealt with him, and you believe that sin's not a problem anymore because the Lord has already dealt with that, and you believe that sickness is not a problem because the Lord has already dealt with that, the enemy still comes after you. And sometimes you become convinced by him that he still has power over you. (Exo.15:9) The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; My desire shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. But God had another plan, didn't He? The Egyptians followed the righteous into the Red Sea and were destroyed. You see, the waters of God's Word are meant to fulfill what baptism gave us by faith as a type and shadow. The waters of God's Word will put to death your old man and take away his power. Whenever you remember what the Lord did for you and you celebrate the victory, you take away the power of the old man. Don't ever believe what your flesh is telling you. Don't believe it when the devil tells you through your flesh that he still has power. No! That old man's dead and he has no power anymore. Now the Lord is your Savior; continue to trust in Him. (2Co.5:17) Wherefore if any man is in Christ, [he is] a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new. Old things have passed away and all things have become new; you're a new creature in Christ. Remember the Good News because, if you get talked out of the Good News, you'll make the same mistakes that the Israelites made in the wilderness. They wanted to go back to the power of Egypt because God brought them to places and positions where they knew they had no strength to save themselves. Do you know what happens when you get into a position like that? Your flesh cries out to go back to Egypt because its tired of the manna of the Word. It tells you to go back to the flesh pots, go back to a place where your flesh will be sure to be fed more flesh. Where you serve the flesh and don't have the fiery trial that makes you fit for the Kingdom. But the Lord is not going to let that happen, saints! He's not going to let us go back to Egypt. In these coming days, He's going to keep us in the wilderness until the old man's dead because the world will be a wilderness. Of course, at baptism, we know the old man's dead, but when you go past your baptism, you're going into the place where what you received by faith at baptism must now be manifested. And the way it's manifested is you let the water of the Word put to death the old man. You hold fast the confession of your hope that it waver not. (Heb.10:23) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised. You reckon the old man to be dead. He made you free from sin. Don't forget it. It says that twice in Romans 6: (Rom.6:11) Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus. (17) But thanks be to God, that, whereas ye were servants of sin, ye became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto ye were delivered; (18) and being made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness. Remember, this is the way we overcome sin; it's by faith. It's not by works, not by self efforts, not by our power. If you're trusting in your ability, you're going back to the old man, back to the horse and rider. Legalism does that; it causes you to go back to the self-righteousness of religion in Egypt, but God wouldn't let His people sacrifice in Egypt. (Exo.8:25) And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land. (26) And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us? When they sacrificed in Egypt, they sacrificed the abomination of the Egyptians. So God is going to keep His people in the wilderness until everything that needs to be burned up is burned up. This really is a joyful thing, because the people of God are once again going to walk in the steps of Jesus Christ. They're going to take up their cross and follow Him. Now, Miriam, the sister of Aaron and Moses, said, (Exo.15:21) Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously (This is a revelation of our victory that was given to us through Jesus Christ. He conquered the old man.); The horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. (22) And Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. Here's one of the first trials that God was going to use to put to death the old man and to cause them to learn to trust in the power of God. He was going to manifestly put to death what died symbolically at the Red Sea. You may have heard the saying, “Well, He got them out of Egypt but He had to get Egypt out of them,” and that's so true, isn't it? We come out of the world through faith in Jesus Christ but then God has to get the world out of us. You see, He wants us to walk totally in the Kingdom. (23) And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah (“Bitterness”). (24) And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? (25) And he cried unto the Lord; And the Lord showed him a tree, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. I believe that this “tree” represents the cross, where God gave us new life. The old man died there, and Jesus Christ, the new man, was given to us. 2 Corinthians tells us the same parable but in a slightly different way. (2Co.3:18) But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit. What happened at the cross, what happened at the Red Sea, what happened at our baptism, was that the old man died and the new man came to life, and that new man is Jesus Christ. He is “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Col.1:26) [Even] the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints, (27) to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (28) whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ. We are to believe that, (Gal.2:20) I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that [life] which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, [the faith] which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. That's the Gospel. If you begin to confess that, you will see the power of Jesus Christ in you to overcome these things. We sometimes have a failure attitude, an attitude of unbelief, when it comes to trials and the ability of the Lord in us to overcome in our trials. It is “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” We now have everything that He was. Well, when the Israelites came to their trial where they didn't have any water, God showed Moses a particular tree to cast into the waters and the waters were made sweet. In the wilderness, “water” represents life and we know from James that the sweet and the bitter “waters” are talking about the tongue. We've taught that part of the Gospel is “confession”; it's confessing what the Gospel says is ours. (Rom.10:10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Murmuring in the wilderness is the opposite of the sweet waters. (Jas.3:8) But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] a restless evil, [it is] full of deadly poison. (9) Therewith bless we the Lord and Father; and therewith curse we men, who are made after the likeness of God. This is not talking about speaking what the world calls “curses”; this is talking about speaking what the Bible calls “curses.” The Bible calls it a “curse” when you don't speak in agreement with what the Word says. The Lord told us in the last four verses of the Bible, (Rev.22:18) I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto them, God shall add unto him the plagues which are written in this book: (19) and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book. If you add to His Words or take away from His Words, the curses of this Book are upon you, and He'll take away your part from the tree of life! We bring ourselves under a curse with our own mouth when we disagree with God's Word. We bring ourselves under a curse when we agree with the world and with the devil, and with what the old man says, but he's dead. He doesn't have a right to talk anymore. So we bring ourselves under a curse because we have disagreed with the Gospel. The Gospel is the Good News. (Rom.1:16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. The Gospel is the power of God to save the one who believes it, but we prove whether we believe it by our actions. When they went into the wilderness, the Israelites proved they didn't believe it by their actions, their complaining and murmuring. We need to pray what David said in (Psa.141:3) Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips. He wanted to be careful about what came out of his mouth. We're also told, (Pro.18:21) Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. We need to agree with God; we need to be proven to be believers. We need to have the sweet waters that the cross has given to us, not the bitter waters that bring the curse. As he goes on to say here, the tongue is a restless evil, a deadly poison. (Jas.3:10) Out of the same mouth cometh forth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. (11) Doth the fountain send forth from the same opening sweet [water] and bitter? (12) Can a fig tree, my brethren, yield olives, or a vine figs? Neither [can] salt water yield sweet. If we back up a little bit, in this same text, James talks about the great power of salvation that comes from the tongue. (Jas.3:2) For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man.... Mature people don't stumble in their words, and that's how you get to maturity. You don't agree with the world; you don't agree with the devil; you don't agree with the curse because Jesus bore the curse. You agree with what God said, and you agree with His promises. You “hold fast the confession of” your “hope that it waver not; for He is faithful that promised.” Anybody who doesn't do that will die in the wilderness. (Jas.3:2) For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also. The sweet water of the tongue has the power to bridle the body, to bring it under control, to make it serve the Lord. The horse represents the very opposite. The horse represents bridling the flesh to serve the old man, bridling the beast to serve the old man. (3) Now if we put bridles into their mouths that they may obey us, we turn about their whole body also, (4) Behold, the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by rough winds, are yet turned about by a very small rudder, whither the impulse of the steersman willeth. (5) So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things.... In other words, the tongue can turn about your body; the tongue can bring repentance. People think repentance is crying to the Lord about their sins, but “repentance” just means “turning around and going the other way.” The Greek word for “repentance” is metanoeo and it means “to change your mind or purpose ... involving a change for the better.” The tongue is able to turn us around. When you change your mind and you speak in agreement with the Word, power is given to you. You already know we are justified through faith; we are counted righteous through faith. (Jas.2:18) Yea, a man will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith apart from [thy] works, and I by my works will show thee [my] faith. So when you speak in agreement with the Word by faith, you are justified. Also, (Rom.3:4) God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment. If you want to be justified in your words when you come into judgment, let God be true and every man a liar. Now, why do we have to be justified? It's because without justification, you don't get grace, which means “favor.” If you want to be justified before God, if you want God's favor upon you, then say what God says. Don't say what the world says. If you will do that, you will find God's favor upon you. When the Israelites murmured in the wilderness, it was because they disagreed with God. Instead, they sided with the devil, and they sided with his son, which is the old man, the flesh. They didn't receive grace from God and they died in the wilderness. He goes on to say here, (Jas.3:5) So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how much wood is kindled by how small a fire! Your tongue can destroy you. Every time you open your mouth, you are speaking faith. Every time you open your mouth, you're showing that you believe in the devil and the curse by agreeing with them, or you're showing that you believe in God and the blessing He gave you at the cross by agreeing with Him. You're always speaking faith and showing what you believe; therefore, you're giving authority to someone every time you open your mouth. (Mat.18:18) Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. You're “binding” and “loosing” every time you open your mouth, without ever saying “I bind” or “I loose,” as some people like to do. When you agree with the devil, you're giving faith to him, and giving him power. When you agree with God, you give faith to Him and you give Him power. You ask, “How do I give God power?” Well, if you remember, Jesus went to His own hometown (Mat.13:58) And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. He was powerless and it was because of what they believed. Jesus said, (Mat.9:29) … According to your faith be it done unto you. And He told the centurion, (8:13) … Go thy way; as thou hast believed, [so] be it done unto thee.... You give power to God because God has given you authority to give Him power. He said, “What you bind on earth is bound in heaven, and what you loose on earth is loosed in heaven.” Now, of course, God always has power, but He's not going to use it for you if you're not justified, and you're not justified if you disagree with Him. You have to agree with Him; otherwise, you are destroying yourself. The lost people out there destroy themselves with their own words and actions; they have all the faith in the world, in the devil and in the curse, which Jesus bore. (Jas.3:6) And the tongue is a fire: the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body.... The tongue defiles the body; did you know that? Jesus said, (Mar.7:14) … Hear me all of you, and understand: (15) there is nothing from without the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man. (16) If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear. (17) And when he was entered into the house from the multitude, his disciples asked of him the parable. (18) And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Perceive ye not, that whatsoever from without goeth into the man, it cannot defile him; (19) because it goeth not into his heart, but into his belly, and goeth out into the draught? [This he said,] making all meats clean. (20) And he said, That which proceedeth out of the man, that defileth the man. (21) For from within, out of the heart of men, evil thoughts proceed, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, (22) covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, railing, pride, foolishness: (23) all these evil things proceed from within, and defile the man. There are a lot of people with religious spirits who are pretty legalistic about what they can eat and what they can't eat, but “This He said, making all meats clean.” That's the Word of the Lord, saints. He rebuked Peter about that: (Act.10:11) And he beholdeth the heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet, let down by four corners upon the earth: (12) wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the heaven. (13) And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill and eat. (14) But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean. (15) And a voice [came] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common. (16) And this was done thrice: and straightway the vessel was received up into heaven. The Lord told Peter, “What I've made clean, don't you make unclean,” so we can see that was also being used as a parable of the Gentiles that He'd made clean. (Act.10:28) … [Yet] unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean: ... (35) but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him. (Jas.3:6) And the tongue is a fire; the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature (or, in other words, “cycle of life”).... How can your tongue set on fire the cycle of life? Well, the cycle of life is like sowing and reaping. What you sow, you later reap, then you take out of what you've reaped to sow again; it's a cycle. For instance, if you plant corn, after it's grown and you've harvested the corn, you save some of the corn so you can use it to plant the corn again. You sow, you reap. It's the exact same way with our nature. When you're filled with holiness, it comes out of your mouth, and what do you do? You reap what you've sown and then you sow it again. (Mat.12:35) The good man out of his good treasure bringeth forth good things: and the evil man out of his evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. (36) And I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (37) For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. It's the same with the wicked tongue: you agree with the curse and you get the curse, so then you're living a cursed life, and what comes out of your mouth is more curses. And so what you receive back again is more of the curse, which is what you're sowing and reaping. (Jas.3:6) And the tongue is a fire; the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell. We have to learn to agree with God. When the Israelites went into the wilderness, their big mistake was that they agreed with the curse. They walked by what they saw, what they felt, and what they heard. They didn't walk by “thus saith the Lord,” and listen to me, this is a revelation for us. What we need to do from the time when we first enter into our wilderness is to walk by “thus saith the Lord.” We all need to learn to live supernaturally and there's only one way you can do that: you have to walk by “thus saith the Lord.” You have to accept and speak the Word. I'm reminded of Peter, when he stepped out of the boat: he lived supernaturally, and he stepped out on only one word. (Mat.14:28) And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee upon the waters. (29) And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters to come to Jesus. (30) But when he saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me. (31) And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and saith unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Well, the Lord said “Come” and Peter stepped out of the boat, but when he got his eyes off of the Lord, when he got his eyes off the Word and onto the waves, he started sinking. When Peter started walking by sight in the desolation of the wilderness, so to speak, he started sinking. We have been given the power to walk supernaturally through faith in the Gospel and the Gospel needs to be coming out of our mouths in the situations where we don't have any strength to save ourselves. As God told Paul, “My power is made perfect in weakness.” When you have no way to save yourself, you will turn to the Lord. Everybody who is called of God, everybody who is the elect of God, turns to the Lord. That's why the wilderness is there; it's bringing us to the place where the horse and the rider no longer have power, and we need to remember that. We can live supernaturally. We can live above this world, even in a wilderness where there is no provision; we can live there by faith in the Word of God. The cross made sure of that for us, which is what Exodus 15:25 is saying. Moses cast the tree into the waters and the bitter waters became sweet. Do you know what happened at the cross? That old man died. The one who spoke the bitter waters died. The one who gave faith to the devil died. The one who brought the curse upon that life died. The cross crucified him and that old man is dead. (Rom.6:11) Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus. If you will do this, you will be united with Christ in the likeness of His death, and if you will do this, you will be justified before God. He will give you His grace, His favor, and so you will be able to walk out that life in the wilderness. Returning to our text in (Exo.15:25) And he cried unto the Lord; And the Lord showed him a tree, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made for them a statute (“law”) and an ordinance (“penalty for breaking the law”), and there he proved them; (26) and he said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice.... We don't need to hear any other voice in this coming wilderness; we need to “hearken,” which means “hear and obey,” the voice of the Lord. If we will do that and not walk according to the ears of this world nor the sight of this world, if we let that voice be our voice, then we'll have this benefit. (26) And he said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his eyes, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon thee, which I have put upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. Why did He make this promise to them at the very beginning of their wilderness? (1Co.10:11) Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come. He made this promise at the very beginning of their wilderness because they are a type and a shadow for us. This promise is for us because we are about to go into a wilderness, and one of the judgments that is falling upon the world is that all of the diseases that man has made are spreading but so will be the cure. “He sent His Word and healed them.” Mass healings like the world has never seen will come to glorify God. I had a vision like that one time. In the vision, my wife and I were resting in lawn chairs in front of our house, and we were looking at this power line going from pole to pole across in  the front of the house. This power line was sagging in the middle until it almost touched the ground, and we were studying this sagging power line when suddenly a tornado came over the top of that power line and just picked us up and carried us away. And the Lord explained this little vision to me. He said, “That power line represents the power of man and the reason it was sagging and almost touching the ground is because it's coming to an end.” The power of man is coming to an end. And when the tornado came and picked us up, that represented the power of God, like that which carried away Elijah (2 Kings 2:11). Shortly after that we were moved to Pensacola, Florida from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and God paid the whole bill. Many miraculous things happened, including that He found us the very house He'd shown us in visions. He gave us the house, He gave us the new car; everything we'd asked for in faith, He did. The power of man came to an end, too, because it was nothing I did to bring it all to pass. God doesn't want to share His glory with the old man, with the flesh. While you're working, He's not. When you stop and believe, He will. God is not going to share His glory with the horse and rider; they have to die at the edge of the wilderness. Where we're going, saints, the works of the horse and rider won't save us. The Israelites lost faith in God walking by sight and they wanted to go back to Egypt. They wanted to go back to the salvation of the flesh pots, to trusting in the arm of the flesh, to trusting in man. That's not going to work for us anymore. It's not even going to work for the world, but it definitely won't work for us because God has called us to something higher. The truth is, this whole world is going to be polluted; this whole world is going to be poisoned. There are going to be both natural and weaponized diseases loosed on this world from God and man that are just beyond imagination, and yet we have a promise, right here at the beginning of the wilderness, that God won't put this upon us. “For I am the Lord that healeth thee.” He said He would put it upon the Egyptians and not upon us. The wicked will feel His wrath but we're supposed to walk by faith in this Good News; this Good News is the Gospel, and it's God's salvation to everyone who believes it. We've received revelations at UBM about the air and water being poisoned all throughout this land. Multitudes of people will die of manmade diseases, and we're already seeing it happen. A brother over on the East Coast was given a vision in which he saw biological weapons being smuggled into this country by terrorists who loosed them and killed 80 million people; he was a prophet, and he saw a vision of that happening. Truly saints, only faith in the Gospel is going to save you from the judgments that will be going across this land. The only thing that is going to save you is faith in the Gospel; no strength of man will do it. Nothing will keep us alive through this wilderness like lessons from Joshua and Caleb (Numbers 14:30, 26:65), who held fast to the confession of the Gospel of their time. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken, and everything that can be burned will burn. Something that's stuck with me for a long time is Dumitru Duduman's vision of seeing the earth catch on fire and God speaking to him, “Dumitru, quick! Get on the mountain or you will burn!” That mountain is Mount Zion. It's “the spirits of just men made perfect.” It's the only place that won't be shaken. Everything in this world will be shaken, but those who abide in God's Kingdom, through faith and through their confession, will be saved, and they will endure this wilderness. In fact, multitudes of them will endure until the end. They will live through everything that's coming upon this world because of their faith that Jesus has already borne this curse. God is going to deliver them. We need to get prepared and the way to do that is to put the “manna,” which is the Word of God, in our heart. That's the very next parable we see in Exodus. (Exo.16:4) Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not. (31) And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. Jesus is the bread that came down from Heaven to give life to the world. (Joh.6:51) I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world. But those Israelites said that they hated the manna and they called it “vile.” (Num.21:5) And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loatheth this light (or “vile,” as the footnote says) bread. They didn't like the manna, they were tired of the manna, and many Christians today are just tired of the manna. They're tired of the Word. They'd rather go please themselves with the world, instead of preparing for the things that are coming upon the world, but life to God's people in the wilderness is the manna. Life to God's people in the wilderness is Jesus, Who was that manna and Who is the Word (John 1:14). God commanded those Israelites to partake of the manna for the whole time they were in the wilderness. (Exo.16:35) And the children of Israel did eat the manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat the manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan. The manna supernaturally preserved them all the way through the wilderness until they came to the Promised Land. So when they became tired of the manna, they cried out for flesh and what did God do about it? He said, “Alright, I'll give you flesh. I'll give you flesh until it comes out of your nose.” What does “flesh” represent? It represents living after the lusts of the flesh. (Num.11:18) And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to-morrow, and ye shall eat flesh; for ye have wept in the ears of the Lord, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the Lord will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. (19) Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days, (20) but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you; because that ye have rejected the Lord who is among you.... That was the manna. They rejected the manna because they wanted to live after the flesh. God wanted to give them the Word, but they wanted the flesh and God brought judgment upon them. (33) While the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague. (34) And the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah (“the graves of lust”), because there they buried the people that lusted. It pleased them to live after the lusts of their flesh, instead of partaking of the Word, which was life (John 6:63), and God gave them over to the lusts of their flesh. Multitudes of so-called “Christians” are going to go berserk in the coming times because they are crying out for something besides the Word of God, which God provided for them to preserve them through this wilderness. And while they are calling out for it, just as He did with the Israelites who lusted, God's going to be giving it to them. The whole world is going to be demon-possessed in the coming wilderness, saints. The only people who are going to be preserved are those who have eaten the bread of life, Jesus Christ. Do you know what it is to “eat” something? You chew it, you swallow it, you digest it and it becomes who you are. Some people study the Word and they talk about the Word in Church, but they don't walk according to the Word. They don't live it out. In the days to come, the lusts of the flesh are going to kill people. The only thing that's going to preserve us is to digest the Word of God. (Exo.15:26) And he said, If thou wilt diligently hearken (meaning “to hear and obey”) to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his eyes, and wilt give ear to his commandments (meaning “keep these commandments”), and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon thee, which I have put upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. Our God will give supernatural provision to His people to live through the wilderness, but remember what He told them in (Exo.16:4) ... I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not. He was going to try them with a day's portion every day to prove them, to see whether they would keep His law or not.

Cuộc chiến tranh tại dải Gaza giữa quân đội Israel và lực lượng Hamas, bùng lên sau vụ tấn công khủng bố của Hamas trên đất Israel khiến hơn một nghìn người chết, và hơn 250 người bị bắt làm con tin, đã kéo dài gần hai năm. Vùng lãnh thổ rộng hơn 40 km² của người Palestine bị tàn phá tan hoang, khiến hàng chục nghìn người chết, hàng trăm nghìn người bị thương, đa số dân cư phải sống trong cảnh màn trời chiếu đất. Tuy nhiên, việc công nhận Nhà nước Palestine một lần nữa trở thành một vấn đề nóng bỏng của thời sự quốc tế. Nhiều nước châu Âu, tuyên bố công nhận Nhà nước Palestine. Nước Pháp dự kiến sẽ chính thức công nhận Palestine trong dịp Đại hội đồng Liên Hiệp Quốc vào tháng 9/2025. Nhà nước Palestine là một trong những vấn đề chính trị quốc tế đương đại phức tạp bậc nhất. Tạp chí Tiêu điểm thời sự điểm lại một số diễn biến chính trong tiến trình tranh đấu vì một Nhà nước độc lập của người Palestine. Nghị quyết LHQ năm 1947 về hai Nhà nước, thế giới Ả Rập không công nhận Về vấn đề Nhà nước độc lập của người Palestine, ngày 29/11/1947 mà một cái mốc lịch sử. « Nghị quyết của ủy ban lâm thời của Liên Hiệp Quốc về vấn đề Palestine đã được thông qua với 33 phiếu thuận, 13 phiếu chống và 10 phiếu trắng. » Theo Nghị quyết 181 của Đại hội đồng Liên Hiệp Quốc, vùng lãnh thổ gọi là xứ Palestine, nằm dọc bờ biển đông Địa Trung Hải, phía bắc là Liban và phía nam là Ai Cập hiện nay, sẽ được chia thành hai Nhà nước, một Nhà nước của người Ả Rập và một của người Do Thái, và một khu vực do quốc tế kiểm soát, bao gồm các thánh địa như Jerusalem và thành Bethleem. Theo nghị quyết 181 của Liên Hiệp Quốc, nước Anh, quốc gia được Hội Quốc Liên – tiền thân của Liên Hiệp Quốc - giao trách nhiệm bảo trợ cho vùng đất này từ năm 1922, sau khi đế chế Ottoman giải thể, sẽ phải rút khỏi Palestine vào cuối năm 1948. Nghị quyết về hai Nhà nước liên quan đến vùng đất lịch sử Palestine được coi là một nguyên tắc pháp lý căn bản của Liên Hiệp Quốc về « vấn đề Palestine ». Năm 2000, Hội đồng Bảo an Liên Hiệp Quốc đã thông qua nghị quyết 1397 tái khẳng định « giải pháp hai Nhà nước ». Tuy nhiên, nghị quyết 181 của Liên Hiệp Quốc đã không được thực thi đầy đủ. Ngày 14/05/1948, Nhà nước Israel của người Do Thái chính thức ra đời. Nhưng đã không có một Nhà nước của người Ả Rập. Các đụng độ bùng phát dữ dội giữa các cộng đồng người Ả Rập cư trú lâu đời tại xứ Palestine, với người Do Thái, trong đó có rất nhiều người đến từ châu Âu, đặc biệt sau các cuộc diệt chủng người Do Thái của chế độ Đức Quốc xã. Ước tính từ khoảng 800.000 người đến hơn 1 triệu người Ả Rập tại Palestine đã phải rời bỏ quê hương trong biến cố được gọi là « Nakba », tiếng Ả Rập có nghĩa là đại thảm họa. Năm 2023, lần đầu tiên Đại hội đồng Liên Hiệp Quốc chính thức tổ chức kỷ niệm thường niên biến cố « Nakba ». Cho đến nay, theo Liên Hiệp Quốc, có hơn 4 triệu người là người Palestine tị nạn sau biến cố Nakba, hoặc hậu duệ của họ. Thế giới Ả Rập không công nhận nhà nước Do Thái. Cuộc chiến tranh Ả Rập – Do Thái đầu tiên bùng nổ vào năm 1949. Sau cuộc chiến tranh này Jordanie kiểm soát vùng Cisjordanie và Đông Jerusalem, dải Gaza thuộc quyền kiểm soát của Ai Cập. Cũng năm này, Liên Hiệp Quốc công nhận Nhà nước Israel. Hai mươi năm « bị xóa sổ khỏi lịch sử » Nếu như trước khi Nhà nước Do Thái ra đời, các cộng đồng người Ả Rập Palestine từng có một vị thế nhất định, thì sau thời điểm này, người Palestine hoàn toàn « bị xóa sổ khỏi lịch sử », như ghi nhận của chuyên gia Jean-Paul Chagnollaud, giáo sư danh dự các trường Đại học, chủ tịch Viện nghiên cứu về vùng Trung Đông Địa Trung Hải (IREMMO) với đài France Culture : « Trong suốt 20 năm đó – từ 1949 đến cuộc chiến 1967 - có thể nói rằng người Palestine đã bị đẩy ra khỏi ‘‘lịch sử'' hoặc bị xóa sổ khỏi lịch sử như người ta thường nói, và chủ nghĩa dân tộc Palestine – vốn đang hình thành - đã bị suy yếu nghiêm trọng. Những người mang tinh thần dân tộc chủ nghĩa Palestine vào thời điểm đó chính là những người Palestine đã rời khỏi vùng đất nơi Nhà nước Israel được thành lập. Đó là những người tị nạn, những người sẽ đến Liban, đến Jordanie. Có rất nhiều người tị nạn ở Jordanie. Họ cũng đến dải Gaza, nơi đang nằm dưới sự quản lý của Ai Cập của thời điểm đó. Điều này khiến dân số dải Gaza vào những năm 1949 - 1950 gồm đến 90% là người tị nạn, tức là những người có quê hương tại các vùng đất ở Palestine, cách đó chỉ 10, 30, 50, 100 km, tức rất gần, vì Gaza là một vùng lãnh thổ rất nhỏ, chỉ bằng hai, ba tỉnh của nước Pháp. Như vậy là người Palestine biến mất và trên bình diện quốc tế, người ta chỉ còn nói đến ‘‘vấn đề người tị nạn''. Người ta thậm chí không còn dùng đến từ “Palestine” nữa. Để lấy một ví dụ cụ thể, có thể dễ dàng kiểm chứng về mặt pháp lý : Đó là nghị quyết đầu tiên sau cuộc chiến tranh năm 1967, nghị quyết 242 tháng 11/1967. Đây là một nghị quyết quan trọng, nghị quyết đầu tiên sau cuộc chiến năm 1967. Nghị quyết này nói rằng các lãnh thổ đã chiếm đoạt phải được trả lại cho các quốc gia, và khi nói về người tị nạn, thì chỉ có một dòng về họ. Người ta thậm chí không dùng từ “Palestine”, mà chỉ yêu cầu có ‘‘một giải pháp công bằng'', chỉ một dòng đó mà thôi (un juste règlement du problème des réfugiés). Nói cách khác, người Palestine đã biến mất. » Tổ chức Giải phóng Palestine ra đời dưới quyền kiểm soát của Ai Cập Tổ chức Giải phóng Palestine PLO được thành lập chính thức vào năm 1964. Tuy nhiên, trong giai đoạn đầu, tổ chức mang tôn chỉ giải phóng Palestine phục vụ trước hết cho quyền lợi của một số thế lực Ả Rập trong khu vực, đặc biệt là nước Ai Cập của Nasser (một cường quốc trong khu vực, đặc biệt sau cuộc chiến thắng lợi trước liên minh Anh, Pháp và Israel nhằm kiểm soát kênh đào Suez năm 1956), và vương quốc Jordanie, kiểm soát vùng Cisjordanie của người Palestine. Chuyên gia Jean-Paul Chagnollaud nhận định : « Lãnh đạo Palestine Arafat, với việc thành lập tổ chức Fatah (phong trào giải phóng dân tộc Palestine) năm 1959, đã xuất hiện trong bối cảnh đó, một bối cảnh bị chi phối bởi lãnh đạo Ai Cập Nasser. Còn người dân vùng Cisjordanie bị chi phối bởi quan điểm chính thống về dân tộc Jordan, với những gia tộc lớn gần gũi với hoàng gia Jordanie, các thế lực kiểm soát các thành phố Cisjordanie. Trong toàn bộ giai đoạn này, việc khẳng định tinh thần dân tộc Palestine là điều gần như bất khả thi. Làm sao có thể làm cho người Palestine cảm thấy mình là một dân tộc đang hình thành sau tất cả những sự kiện đã làm cho họ bị phân mảnh, tan tác, bị đập nát theo cả nghĩa đen lẫn nghĩa bóng. Tổ chức Giải phóng Palestine PLO được thành lập năm 1964. PLO được thành lập bởi ai ? Trong tổ chức này có người Palestine, nhưng PLO là do lãnh đạo Ai Cập Nasser lập ra, với sự ủng hộ của vua Jordanie Hussein. Tại sao họ lại thành lập PLO vào thời điểm đó ? Bởi vì họ biết rằng thực sự có một phong trào dân tộc đang manh nha, đang được xây dựng, đang định hình, đó là phong trào dân tộc chủ nghĩa Fatah, do Arafat lãnh đạo, từ đầu những năm 1960. Nasser không thể để mình bị vượt mặt. Và vì vậy, cần phải kiểm soát. Vậy làm sao để kiểm soát ? Bằng cách thành lập một tổ chức, Tổ chức Giải phóng Palestine, với sứ mệnh lúc đó là xác lập sự thống nhất của các nước Ả Rập, trước khi lo chuyện Palestine. Khối Ả Rập thống nhất sẽ cho phép giải phóng Palestine, đó là cách người ta nói vào thời điểm đó. Trong kịch bản đó, PLO không phải là của người Palestine, mặc dù người đứng đầu PLO là Ahmad Shukeiri. Ông ấy là một người Palestine, nhưng là một người Palestine làm bình phong cho Nasser. Nhân vật này từng làm việc tại Liên đoàn Ả Rập với Nasser. Lập ra PLO thực sự là một việc chủ yếu do Ai Cập chủ trương để cố gắng kiểm soát tình hình, và họ đã thành công. » Cuộc chiến « Sáu ngày » 1967 : Thất bại của khối Ả Rập và sự trỗi dậy của chủ nghĩa dân tộc Palestine Năm 1967, cuộc chiến tranh thứ ba giữa các nước Ả Rập và Israel bùng nổ. Cuộc chiến chỉ kéo dài 6 ngày nhưng để lại các hệ quả lớn. Israel giành lại dải Gaza và vùng Cisjordanie, nhưng thất bại của khối Ả Rập, cũng để ngỏ cơ hội cho sự trỗi dậy của phong trào dân tộc Palestine với vai trò hàng đầu của nhà lãnh đạo Arafat. Giáo sư Jean-Paul Chagnollaud nhận định : « Đối với chủ nghĩa dân tộc Palestine, vốn bị kìm hãm bởi chủ nghĩa dân tộc Ả Rập, điều này đã mở ra những triển vọng mới. Chủ nghĩa dân tộc Palestine có thể nói đã nhanh chóng lấp đầy khoảng trống, đột ngột mở ra do thất bại hoàn toàn của các nước Ả Rập, do thảm họa năm 1967. Việc thay đổi lãnh thổ như vậy đã mang lại thay đổi địa-chính trị to lớn, và tiếp đó là sự suy yếu của chủ nghĩa dân tộc Ả Rập, đã mở rộng đường cho chủ nghĩa dân tộc Palestine và cho Arafat. Kể từ tháng 2/1969, PLO đã thực sự trở thành tổ chức của người Palestine kể từ năm 1968. » Phong trào Intifada đầu tiên, PLO tuyên bố thành lập Nhà nước Palestine Phong trào PLO dưới sự lãnh đạo của Arafat, để hướng tới khẳng định quyền tự quyết dân tộc, quyền của một Nhà nước độc lập của người Palestine, đã tiến hành cùng lúc hai cuộc chiến, cuộc tranh đấu vũ trang và cuộc tranh đấu về chính trị và ngoại giao. Năm 1974, Đại hội đồng Liên Hiệp Quốc chính thức công nhận « quyền tự quyết » và « nền độc lập » của người Palestine, và công nhận vai trò quan sát viên của PLO tại Liên Hiệp Quốc.   Trong tiến trình tranh đấu của người Palestine, phong trào tranh đấu ôn hòa Intifada lần thứ nhất, bùng lên từ cuối năm 1987 trước hết tại Gaza, rồi lan rộng sang vùng Cisjordanie, có ý nghĩa đặc biệt quan trọng. Nhà nghiên cứu François Ceccaldi, đảm nhiệm môn lịch sử thế giới Ả Rập đương đại của Collège de France nhận định : « Phong trào Intifada là một giai đoạn lịch sử trong đó đã có rất nhiều biến chuyển, ít nhất là đã cho phép Arafat thay đổi phần nào chính sách của mình, thúc đẩy bởi những thành quả của phong trào Intifada và uy tín ngày càng tăng của tổ chức PLO. Ông đã quyết định thực hiện một chiến lược có thể gọi là tìm kiếm đồng thuận. Và ông đã đưa ra quyết định như vậy trong một cuộc họp của Hội đồng Quốc gia vào tháng 11/1988, tuyên bố Nhà nước Palestine độc lập với Jerusalem làm thủ đô. Arafat công nhận Nghị quyết 181 năm 1947 của Liên Hiệp Quốc, tức là kế hoạch phân chia đất đai xứ Palestine. Ông lên án việc sử dụng vũ lực. Đặc biệt là trong giai đoạn này, ông đã có hai bài phát biểu khá nổi tiếng tại Alger và Geneva năm 1988, và đặc biệt là bài phát biểu tại Geneva, có lẽ bị thúc đẩy bởi Mỹ. Đi xa hơn, trong một phiên họp của Đại hội đồng Liên Hiệp Quốc tổ chức bất thường tại Genève năm 1988, Arafat công nhận hai nghị quyết 242 và 338 của Liên Hiệp Quốc và lên án hành động khủng bố. Điều quan trọng ở đây không phải là nội dung của các nghị quyết của Liên Hiệp Quốc, mà Arafat, cùng với ông phong trào dân tộc Paletine, cam kết hoặc chấp nhận tuân thủ pháp lý quốc tế và ngầm công nhận pháp lý này, do đó cũng ngầm công nhận Nhà nước Israel. Đương nhiên, điều này có những hệ quả khá quan trọng. Thỏa ước Oslo I vào năm 1993 lập ra Cơ quan Quyền lực Palestine, dự kiến tồn tại cho đến năm 1999, sau khi một Nhà nước Palestine độc lập chính thức ra đời. Năm 1994, lãnh tụ Arafat lần đầu tiên trở về Palestine sau 27 năm sống lưu vong. Năm 1995, Israel và Arafat ra được thỏa ước Oslo II, chia vùng Cisjordanie làm ba phần, trong đó tiểu vùng A do người Palestine tự điều hành, tiểu vùng B, hai bên phối hợp quản lý, và vùng C dự kiến sẽ chuyển giao dần quyền quản lý do Palestine, nhưng Israel vẫn duy trì quân đội. Sau giai đoạn chuyển tiếp này, các vấn đề về ‘‘tình trạng thường trực'', là những vấn đề nhạy cảm nhất, sẽ phải được đàm phán. Tại sao đàm phán thất bại ? Tôi cảm thấy rằng có lẽ trong các hiệp định Oslo, có một số yếu tố có thể dự báo trước thất bại ngay từ đầu. Đương nhiên lúc ấy đa số đã ghi nhận hoặc ít nhất hy vọng rằng một nền hòa bình là có thể đạt được. Vào thời điểm đó, đã có một số ít người phản đối, tôi đặc biệt nghĩ đến nhà nghiên cứu Edward Said, là những người đã nhanh chóng nhìn thấy những khiếm khuyết của hiệp định này. Có lẽ cũng vì trong các hiệp định này, chẳng hạn về vấn đề nhà nước Palestine, người Palestine đã có một số cách hiểu khá mơ hồ. Tuyên bố nguyên tắc dự kiến thành lập ‘‘tình trạng thường trực'' sau giai đoạn chuyển tiếp 5 năm, dựa trên các nghị quyết 242 và 338. Trong diễn đạt mơ hồ về ‘‘tình trạng thường trực'' dựa trên nghị quyết 242 rõ ràng người Palestine đã thấy đó là việc thành lập một nhà nước trong các đường biên giới như trước cuộc chiến tranh năm 1967. Trên thực tế, vấn đề nhà nước Palestine đã không bao giờ được đề cập trực tiếp trong các hiệp định. Tổng thống Mỹ Clinton vào cuối nhiệm kỳ của mình đã cố gắng tổ chức một cuộc đàm phán cuối cùng giữa thủ tướng Israel Ehud Barak và lãnh đạo PLO Arafat, nhưng đã thất bại. » Nội bộ phương Tây ngày càng nghiêng về công nhận Palestine Đầu những năm 2000, tiến trình hướng đến một xứ sở Palestine độc lập có một số bước tiến, với việc quân đội Israel lần đầu tiên rút khỏi dải Gaza kể từ năm 1967. Tuy nhiên, tình hình thay đổi sau khi tổ chức Hồi giáo Hamas, không thừa nhận Israel và chủ trương dùng vũ lực, lên nắm quyền tại Gaza năm 2007 : Nội bộ Palestine chia rẽ sâu sắc. Việc Hamas kiểm soát Gaza đẩy người Palestine dấn sâu vào thế đối đầu một mất một còn với Israel. Con đường hướng đến hai nhà nước Palestine - Israel cùng tồn tại hòa bình, đã bắt đầu hé mở thời Arafat, ngày càng trở nên xa vời. Tuy nhiên, về mặt ngoại giao, nỗ lực của Cơ quan Quyền lực Palestine gặt hái một số thành công. Năm 2012, Liên Hiệp Quốc công nhận Palestine là « nhà nước quan sát viên không phải thành viên » Liên Hiệp Quốc. Năm 2024, Đại hội đồng Liên Hiệp Quốc ra một nghị quyết mang tính biểu tượng, yêu cầu kết nạp Palestine làm thành viên chính thức. Điều không được chấp nhận do lá phiếu phủ quyết của Mỹ.  Kể từ tháng 5/2024, Palestine được Đại hội đồng Liên Hiệp Quốc tiếp nhận gần như một thành viên chính thức của Liên Hiệp Quốc với vị trí được xếp theo thứ tự ABC, và được phép đề xuất các dự thảo nghị quyết, đồng chủ trì dự thảo nghị quyết (với 143 phiếu thuận, 9 phiếu chống và 25 vắng mặt). Theo chủ tịch Đại hội đồng Liên Hiệp Quốc « những sự kiện kinh hoàng trong bảy tháng qua chỉ làm tăng thêm tính cấp bách của việc đạt được một giải pháp hòa bình công bằng, toàn diện và lâu dài cho tình hình ở Trung Đông » và con đường khả thi duy nhất dẫn đến hòa bình ở Trung Đông là thông qua giải pháp hai nhà nước. Cho đến nay, Palestine đã được hơn 140 quốc gia công nhận, vượt 2/3 số thành viên Liên Hiệp Quốc. Trong nội bộ các nước phương Tây, ngày càng nhiều nước coi việc công nhận Palestine là biện pháp cần thiết để thực thi « giải pháp hai nhà nước », đã được Liên Hiệp Quốc đề ra hồi 1947. Công nhận nhà nước Palestine là « điều kiện để bảo đảm an ninh cho Israel », như một tuyên bố của Hội đồng Châu Âu năm 1999.

(This podcast was previously recorded and published on May 28, 2020)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...    By the Word of God that the Spirit of God gives us, we know the will of God in the issues of this present life.   The Spirit of God searches the heart of God to show us the will of God.  (I Corinthians 2:10-13)   I've had the "Word of God" brought in scripture, in dreams, and in concepts which were brought to my mind by the Spirit of God.  In each case, these were "the Word of God."  And they came to pass.  And I rejoiced in those words and followed those instructions.   It is not the letter of the law that we follow but the Spirit.   God gives each of HIS children HIS Spirit that we can know what God wants us to do as we live on this earth! *****   Pearl of great price:   Matthew 13   44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.   45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:   46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.   To us, that Word of God, brought to our mind by the Spirit of God is everything and really all that matters as we go forward, doing that Word.  ***  We read the Bible so we can see that which is approved by God and know the way of God, but it is the Spirit of God in us who leads us in those scriptures.   But some church people see scriptures by their own natural mind.  And they are always a little off, like a radio station that is not tuned in properly.   II Corinthians 3:6   (God) hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.   *** Fleshly men often take the scriptures and read them by their own fleshly thinking, having not the Spirit, and set up doctrines by their own thinking for the church to follow.   A primary example of this is in setting up crackers and grape juice as being "communion" (or the Lord's supper), while the communion, the Lord's supper is the correct eating and correct drinking of the Word of God.   The apostle Paul says:  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.  I Corinthians 11:28   We examine ourselves as we eat and drink the Holy Bible, doing that word, conforming ourselves to that Word.  This is the Lord's supper.  The Word is power.   *** The Church of Christ group forbids the use of instrumental music in the church because of the following scripture.   Ephesians 5:19   Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;   But you can sing in your heart without making any sound at all with your voice!    I do not believe Ephesians 5:19 forbids instrumental music in the church but rather this verse exhorts us to sing "by our heart" to God, in gratitude to God as we make music.   *** There have been church groups in the past that required women to wear head coverings (a hat or scarf) as they enter the church building.   And some religious groups think men must wear some type of covering on their heads.   Here is what the Bible shows us for the New Testament church:   I Corinthians 11   4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.   5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.   6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.   7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.   8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.   13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?   14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?   15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.   *** The apostle Paul said:   I Corinthians 14   34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.   35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.   The Holy Spirit once said to me:  "Look at what these women were doing in the church."   When I looked, I saw they were asking questions.  (verse 35)    Further the Holy Spirit reminded me of Philip the evangelist who had 4 daughters "who did prophesy."  (Acts 21)  Prophesy is for the church.  To bring prophecy, you would have to speak in the church, said the Spirit of God to me.   I believe it is wrong for a woman to be asking questions in the gathering of the church, but if she has a word from the Lord she is free to present that word in the assembly of the church when the appropriate time presents itself in the gathering.  I do not believe she would interrupt the teaching to present a word.  That would be "out of order".   I Corinthians 14:40    Let all things be done decently and in order.   At one church I attended, our Bible teacher at each meeting would say to us:  "Does anyone have a word from the Lord?"    We were then free to give that word of knowledge or word of wisdom or prophecy. ***   Some things are sins and are never right for the Christian to do:   I Corinthians 6   9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.   Before we were born again we did some of these things, but not after God revealed HIMSELF to us.  Before we were born again we served sin.  Now we serve God, not these sins.   Thus Jesus said to the woman taken in adultery, "Go, and sin no more."  John 8   She could not continue in that previous sin after Jesus forgave her.  Neither can we.  Nor do we want to do such sins after we have been given the Holy Spirit to live in us!   ***   People who were committing adultery and fornication used to hide.  But today many seem proud to tell others they are doing such.  They have no shame.   Paul said:  Abstain from all appearance of evil.  I Thessalonians 5:22   This lack of shame over sins shows us we are drawing nearer to the return of Jesus and the wrath of God upon the disobedient.   ***  Matthew 24:12-13 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many (for the word of God) shall wax cold.   13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.   *** I Corinthians 5    It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.   2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.   3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,   4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,   5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.    6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?   7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.   ***   Concerning homosexuals and lesbians:   Romans 1   26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:   27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.  

Từ năm 1947, vào ngày 2 tháng 6 hàng năm, nước Ý tổ chức Festa della Repubblica – Lễ Cộng Hòa. Một ngày mà sự kiện của nó cũng phản ánh tình hình chính trị và kinh tế ở Bỉ. Cộng hòa Ý ra đời như thế nào ? Và sự kiện này có mối liên hệ và điểm tương đồng đặc biệt nào với đất nước bằng phẳng bên kia dãy Alpes ? Cộng hòa Ý được thành lập vào năm 1947 sau cuộc bỏ phiếu trưng cầu dân ý ngày 2 tháng 6 năm 1946. Một bầu cử lịch sử ở Ý vì ba lý do : • Đây là cuộc bầu cử đầu tiên kể từ 1924, năm Benito Mussolino đã giành chiến thắng trong cuộc bỏ phiếu và thiết lập chế độ độc tài ; • Đây là lần đầu tiên phụ nữ Ý được bỏ phiếu ; • Việc bỏ phiếu không phải là quyền, như ở Bỉ, mà là nghĩa vụ. Phải nói rằng ngoài việc bỏ phiếu để bầu ra đại diện của mình, các công dân Ý phải trả lời một câu hỏi quan trọng vào năm 1946 : Chế độ quân chủ nên được duy trì hay nền Cộng hòa được thành lập ? Một sự chia rẽ bắc-nam giữa những người theo chủ nghĩa cộng hòa và quân chủ, giống như Câu hỏi Hoàng gia Vào thời điểm đó, phải mất hơn một tuần để công bố kết quả đầu tiên. Nhưng vì có đơn kháng cáo, phải đến ngày 18 tháng 6, mười sáu ngày sau, kết quả cuối cùng mới được công bố : Phiếu « thuận » cho nền Cộng hòa đã thắng. Nhưng cuộc trưng cầu dân ý này cho thấy một nước Ý bị chia rẽ trầm trọng về mặt địa lý. Trung bình, có 54% số phiếu bầu ủng hộ nền Cộng hòa. Nhưng hai phần ba dân miền Bắc đã bỏ phiếu cho nền Cộng hòa, và ở miền Nam, tình hình hoàn toàn ngược lại : hai phần ba cử tri ủng hộ chế độ quân chủ. Nói cách khác, Milano và Torino là những người theo chủ nghĩa cộng hòa, Napoli và Palermo là những người theo chủ nghĩa quân chủ, và ở Roma, miền Trung, tỷ lệ này là 50/50. Một sự chia rẽ Bắc – Nam ở Ý tương tự như sự chia rẽ sẽ xảy ra bốn năm sau đó ở Bỉ, có lợi hoặc có hại cho Vua Leopold III. Kết quả của cuộc trưng cầu dân ý ở Bỉ hoàn toàn ngược lại : Miền Bắc, Flanders, chủ yếu ủng hộ Nhà vua, và miền Nam, Wallonie thì phần lớn phản đối. Điểm chung của cả hai tình huống này là nguyên nhân của các cuộc trưng cầu dân ý này đều bắt nguồn từ Thế chiến thứ hai. Marie-José, Công chúa Bỉ, hoàng hậu cuối cùng của nước Ý Ngoài sự chia rẽ Bắc – Nam ở đất nước này được tiết lộ bởi cuộc trưng cầu dân ý tại Ý ủng hộ nền Cộng hòa, lịch sử ghi nhận rằng hoàng hậu cuối cùng của Ý là người Bỉ : Marie-José, em gái của vua Leopold III và do đó là dì của vua Baudouin và vua Albert II. Bà kết hôn với Umberto, người đã trở thành Vua của nước Ý vào ngày 9 tháng 5 năm 1946 sau khi cha ông thoái vị. Marie-José được gọi là hoàng hậu tháng Năm vì cặp đôi này chỉ trị vì nước Ý trong vòng có một tháng, vì sau khi kết quả bỏ phiếu được công bố, cả hai đều phải lưu vong. Một điều khoản hiến pháp của nước Cộng hòa Ý đã cấm họ quay trở lại đất nước một cách rõ ràng. Mãi đến năm 2002, luật lưu vong này liên quan đến họ và con cháu của họ mới được bãi bỏ. Việc ban hành luật lưu vong chống lại Nhà vua và hoàng gia cho thấy sự phẫn nộ thực sự đối với họ vì chế độ quân chủ Ý đã thỏa hiệp với chủ nghĩa phát xít : cha của Umberto, Vittorio Emanuele III, đã chấp nhận việc thành lập chế độ độc tài phát xít. Dù miễn cưỡng, ông đã ký tuyên bố chiến tranh chống lại Pháp và các nước Đồng minh khác, và sau đó ông đã ký các luật chống lại người Do Thái. Tất nhiên, vào tháng 9 năm 1943, ông đã loại bỏ Mussolini, nhưng điều này là cơ hội, ít nhất là vào thời điểm mà Đồng minh đã chiếm đảo Sicilia và miền nam nước Ý và cuộc chiến tranh giữa đồng minh với Đức đã đến hồi kết thúc. Việc Vittorio Emanuele thoái vị để ủng hộ con trai mình vài tuần trước cuộc trưng cầu dân ý nhằm mục đích cứu vãn chế độ quân chủ, nhưng điều đó là không đủ. Sự lựa chọn một nước Cộng hòa Ý được đưa ra trong bối cảnh các hiệp ước chấm dứt chiến tranh : Ý đã bị đồng hóa với một quốc gia bại trận trong Thế chiến Thứ hai, tức là một quốc gia đồng minh với Đức Quốc xã. Sự trì trệ kinh tế của miền Nam đất nước so với sự giàu có của miền Bắc : một tình hình không thay đổi kể từ khi Ý thống nhất Kết quả tương phản của cuộc trưng cầu dân ý đã không thay đổi trong gần 80 năm. Nó minh họa cho sự chia rẽ giữa miền Bắc và miền Nam nước Ý vẫn còn rất hiện hữu cho đến ngày nay. Một câu thành ngữ cũ đã tóm tắt vấn đề này : "Milano lavora, Roma mangia, Napoli dorme" nghĩa là : "Làm Milano, ăn Roma và ngủ Napoli." Sự khinh thường của miền Bắc đối với miền Nam gợi nhớ đến tình hình của nước Bỉ. Nhưng trong các số liệu thực tế, khoảng cách giữa GDP của miền Bắc nước Ý và miền Nam vẫn lớn hơn nhiều so với khoảng cách giữa hai vùng Flanders và Wallonie của Bỉ. Trong khi Wallonie đã trải qua sự suy thoái, thì nơi này đã từng đi đầu trong cuộc Cách mạng Công nghiệp, một cuộc cách mạng mà miền Nam nước Ý chưa từng trải qua. Sự chia rẽ Bắc - Nam dai dẳng này đã tồn tại kể từ khi nước Ý thống nhất, kéo dài từ năm 1860 đến năm 1870, khi Vương quốc Ý được thành lập trong 76 năm. Do đó, nước Ý đã sống dưới chế độ cộng hòa lâu hơn chế độ quân chủ, vì Cộng hòa Ý sẽ kỷ niệm 80 năm thành lập vào năm tới 2026. Nước Ý ngày nay, trưng cầu dân ý và ý nghĩa chính trị Trong khi dân Ý vừa mừng kỷ niệm thành công của cuộc trưng cầu dân ý thay đổi chế độ năm xưa, thì họ lại phải đến phòng phiếu vào ngày 8 và 9 tháng sáu này để cho một cuộc trưng cầu khác. Ở Ý, các cuộc bỏ phiếu thường diễn ra trong hai ngày Chủ Nhật và thứ Hai. Lần này họ phải trả lời 5 câu hỏi, trong đó có một câu về việc giảm thời gian cư trú từ 10 năm xuống còn 5 năm cho những người ngoại quốc muốn xin nhập tịch Ý (quyền công dân). Và 4 câu còn lại liên quan đến công ăn việc làm thiết thực của người lao động như sa thải hay bồi thường trong trường hợp sa thải (luật lao động). Đây là cuộc đi bỏ phiếu không đụng chạm tới tương lai của chiếc ghế thủ tướng nên chính thủ tướng Ý, Giorgia Meloni tuyên bố không đi bỏ phiếu. Bà đã trả lời như vậy với các nhà báo ngay bên lề cuộc lễ mừng kỷ niệm ngày Cộng Hòa hôm mồng 2 tháng 6. Ngay cả các đảng đối lập ở Ý cũng không tận dụng cơ hội này để thu hút cử tri cho những kỳ bầu cử trong tương lai. Sự thờ ơ của người dân Ý trong cuộc trưng cầu dân ý lần này đã được Danilo Paolini phân tích trên nhật báo Avvenire : “Đã đến lúc phải xem xét đến sự bất mãn của người Ý đối với việc tham gia dân chủ”. Nếu như sau cuộc trưng cầu dân ý năm 1946, phe bảo hoàng (đa số ở miền Nam) không đồng ý với kết quả sát sao giữa đồng ý và không đồng ý, đã dùng vũ lực tấn công phe ủng hộ chế độ cộng hòa. Nhất là họ đã thảm sát những người cộng sản ở Napoli. Miền Nam nước Ý lúc đó thực sự rơi vào tình trạng hỗn loạn. Đặc biệt tại Napoli, nơi được coi là thủ đô của miền nam nơi có nhiều người ủng hộ phe bảo hoàng. Nhưng rồi, nước Ý đã không rơi vào tình trạng nội chiến hay vị vua cuối cùng của Ý được ra nước ngoài sống lưu vong mà không phải lên máy chém. Các vấn đề của cuộc trưng cầu dân ý đã được giải quyết bằng luật pháp và thương lượng giữa các đảng chính trị. Nên nhớ là nước Ý thừa hưởng truyền thống nghị viện và hệ thống luật pháp từ thời La Mã cổ. Trở lại với hiện tại, sự thờ ơ của người dân Ý với một vấn đề quốc gia như luật lao động và quyền công dân. Chỉ có 30% cử tri Ý đi bỏ phiếu, tức vừa đạt ngưỡng tối thiểu để một cuộc bầu cử được gọi là thành công. Tức là các đảng chính trị cũng thỏa mãn vì họ không bỏ lỡ mục tiêu. Còn 70% số cử tri không đi bỏ phiếu cũng là một sự lựa chọn hoàn toàn hợp pháp nhưng để hiểu được tại sao trước thái độ này là điều khó vì đó là cách để họ chỉ trích cách thức diễn đạt của các câu hỏi hoặc không đồng tình về các chủ đề đã chọn, thay vì thờ ơ, ngờ vực, sợ hãi hoặc mong muốn làm cho sáng kiến thất bại. Cuộc trưng cầu dân ý 1946, không chỉ đánh dấu sự ra đời của nước Cộng Hòa Ý mà còn giải quyết triệt để cuộc khủng hoảng hiến pháp của nước Ý thời hậu phát xít. Ngày nay, vì quá dễ dàng trong việc thu thập chữ ký để tổ chức hay hủy bỏ một cuộc trưng cầu (ngưỡng quy định theo Hiến Pháp Ý là 500.000) vì việc thu thập có thể qua hình thức trực tuyến. Có lẽ chỉ cần có ý chí chính trị người ta sẽ thực hiện được. Và như thế việc thay đổi một điều luật trở nên quá dễ dàng !? Việc các đảng phái chính trị dùng người dân như một lực lượng “từ bên dưới” để thay đổi luật pháp mà không dùng đến Quốc hội như nơi thảo luận chân thực và cũng là nơi đưa ra các quyết định chung. Và nếu các đối thủ chính trị bị đánh ngã nơi đấu trường này thì sẽ rất là vinh dự. (Nguồn RTBF)

Năm nay, 2025, hai nước Vatican và Cộng hòa Hồi giáo Iran kỷ niệm 70 thiết lập quan hệ bang giao. Trong một bài phỏng vấn đăng trên nhật báo Công giáo Ý Avvenire ngày 05/02/2025, đại sứ Iran bên cạnh Toà Thánh, Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari, cho biết « sẽ là vinh dự lớn lao khi được chào đón Đức giáo hoàng đến Teheran. » Điều này, cũng được hồng y người Bỉ, Dominique Mathieu, tổng giám mục Téhéran-Ispahan từ 2021, nêu lên trong một bài phỏng vấn đăng trên tuần san Dimanche của Bỉ, 09/02/2025, « Đức thánh cha chắc chắn mong muốn được đến Iran ». Liệu điều này có khả năng diễn ra hay không ? Thực hư mối quan hệ giữa Vatican và Iran là gì ? Mối quan hệ bền vững lâu dài Nếu điều này xảy ra thì sẽ không bất ngờ do mối quan hệ ngoại giao lâu dài giữa một nước Cộng hòa Hồi giáo và một quốc gia ki-tô giáo toàn tòng. Thực sự, Toà Thánh đã có quan hệ ngoại giao đầy đủ với Iran từ năm 1954, mặc dù các mối liên hệ đã có từ thời vua Abbas Đại Đế ở thế kỷ XVI. Mối quan hệ chính thức được thiết lập giữa Đức giáo hoàng Piô XII và Shah (vua) Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, người đã thành lập chế độ quân chủ chuyên chế ở Iran. Chính ông đã lãnh đạo đất nước gọi là Nhà nước Đế Quốc Iran. Mối quan hệ ngoại giao này luôn được duy trì mà không hề bị cắt đứt hay ngưng trệ dù Iran có trải qua cuộc cách mạng Hồi giáo thay đổi cả chế độ vào năm 1979. Cuộc cách mạng này đã chuyển đổi thể chế quân chủ của Iran thành một nhà nước Cộng hòa Hồi giáo, mà lãnh tụ tôn giáo mới là người thực sự nắm quyền. Sau cuộc Cách mạng Hồi giáo 1979, một số người theo chủ nghĩa chính thống (fondamentalisme) muốn cắt đứt quan hệ với Tòa Thánh vốn đã có từ lâu. Tuy nhiên, lãnh tụ tối cao Khomeini đã phản đối. Theo như đại sứ đầu tiên của Cộng Hòa Hồi giáo tại Vatican, Sayyid Hadi Khosrowshahi, chính giáo chủ Khomeini đã gởi cho ông những thông điệp để chuyển đến Đức Gioan Phaolô II, người vừa được bầu lên vào thời điểm đó. Thông điệp mang nội dung hòa bình và lời mời chung sống với các ki-tô hữu. Iran đã luôn đầu tư mạnh mẽ vào mối quan hệ với Toà Thánh. Sự đầu tư này không chỉ mang màu sắc chính trị mà Iran còn tìm thấy nơi Toà Thánh sự tương đồng về chiều kích tâm linh tôn giáo. Mới đây, bộ trưởng Văn Hóa Iran đã hiện diện tại lễ an táng của Đức Phanxicô và lễ nhậm chức của Đức Lêô XIV. Ông đã chuyển tới đức tân giáo hoàng thông điệp của tổng thống Iran nhấn mạnh đến niềm tin lâu đời của Iran vào các nguyên tắc thống nhất của các tôn giáo lớn trên thế giới : Các tôn giáo đều bắt nguồn từ một chân lý duy nhất – chân lý kêu gọi nhân loại hướng đến phẩm giá, lòng trắc ẩn và hòa bình. Đức Lêô XIV đã ca ngợi chiều sâu lịch sử và văn hóa của người dân Iran, lưu ý rằng khi đức tin được thể hiện thông qua sự tôn trọng và đối thoại, « nó có sức mạnh biến đổi thế giới ». Sự chung sống của các tôn giáo Người dân Iran đã quen với sự chung sống giữa các tôn giáo. Người ki-tô hữu là một trong ba nhóm thiểu số được Hiến pháp Iran công nhận, cùng với người Do Thái giáo và người theo đạo Zoroaster (Bái hỏa giáo). Những đại diện của ba tôn giáo này tại Quốc hội Iran có quyền tham gia vào các phiên họp và có ý kiến ngay cả với những vấn đề nhạy cảm về an ninh quốc gia. Những thánh đường Công giáo cổ là những di sản văn hóa quốc gia. Kinh thánh Ki-tô giáo được dịch sang tiếng Ba Tư và các bản văn ki-tô giáo được giảng dạy và nghiên cứu. Tuy nhiên, việc truyền giáo giữa các tín đồ của các tôn giáo lại là vấn đề khác, hay vấn đề ép buộc cải sang Hồi giáo hay Công giáo cũng là một vấn đề hoàn toàn không liên quan với nhau. Người Hồi giáo Iran đa số thuộc hệ phái Shia và một thiểu số Sunni. Thế nên, ngay trong nội bộ, lãnh tụ tối cao đã thành lập các trường đại học để khuyến khích đối thoại. Hiến pháp Iran ghi nhận mọi quyền con người liên quan đến luật Kinh Coran, tức là luật pháp có nguồn gốc tôn giáo. Tuân thủ luật pháp như một hình thức thi hành tôn giáo. Điều này có thể giải thích cho việc : - Bài Hồi giáo là kết quả của những quan điểm sai lầm. Hồi giáo bị thu hẹp lại thành những nhóm bạo lực nhỏ. Họ giải thích kinh Coran theo cảm tính. Hồi giáo là một tôn giáo có chiều kích từ bi mạnh mẽ. Chính những nhóm này đang bị những người Hồi giáo chân chính xua đuổi. Và niềm tin đích thực phải được truyền đạt cho thế hệ trẻ. - Những người trẻ đang dần xa rời đức tin tôn giáo. Đó là vấn nạn chung, không chỉ nơi Hồi giáo mà cả nơi các tôn giáo khác. Mà vấn nạn này lãnh tụ Hồi giáo Iran mong muốn chia sẻ với người đứng đầu giáo hội Công giáo. Đối thoại Iran và Vatican được hình thành từ bao giờ ? Việc thiết lập sự đối thoại này đã được thực hiện từ lâu. Năm 1985, trong khi cuộc chiến Iran-Irak tàn khốc đang diễn ra, Iran đã mời nhà thần học phương Tây đầu tiên, linh mục Công giáo người Thụy Sỹ, Hans Küng, đến để trao đổi quan điểm với những người đồng cấp Hồi giáo. Küng đã rất ấn tượng khi thấy các giáo sĩ, quan chức Nhà nước và thậm chí cả các thành viên của gia đình giáo chủ tối cao lúc bấy giờ là Ayatolla Ruhollah Khomeini tham dự. Ông đã viết vào thời điểm đó: « Thay vì tranh chấp, hãy đối thoại. Đây là cụm từ đáng kinh ngạc mà tôi nghe thấy ở Teheran. Tôi tin rằng đối thoại chủ yếu có động cơ tôn giáo và sẽ đơm hoa kết trái. » Cuộc đối thoại này vẫn tiếp tục. Từ năm 1995, Tổ chức Văn hóa và Quan hệ Hồi giáo của Iran và Hội đồng Giáo hoàng về Đối thoại liên tôn của Vatican vẫn đều đặn gặp gỡ hội thảo mỗi 2 năm. Không chỉ với Giáo hội Công giáo, với khoảng 300.000 tín đồ tập trung ở Ispahan, nguyên là thủ đô của Iran, Hồi giáo Iran còn đối thoại với cả thiểu số Chính thống giáo Hy Lạp. Từ 1992, các giáo sĩ dòng Shia đã tổ chức cuộc họp liên tôn đầu tiên tại Athens với Giáo hội Chính thống giáo Hy Lạp. Các nhà tư tưởng Iran ngưỡng mộ giáo hội Chính thống giáo đã duy trì các giá trị và bản sắc truyền thống trước sự toàn cầu hóa của phương Tây. Hợp tác tôn giáo này còn được thể hiện qua sự can thiệp vào năm 2011 của giám mục Anh giáo John Bryson Chane và Hồng y Theodore McCarrick trong cuộc đàm phán thả hai người đi bộ đường dài người Mỹ bị Iran bắt giữ từ 2009 với cáo buộc làm gián điệp. Trung gian chính trị Có 3 lý do cơ bản để mối quan hệ giữa Teheran và Vatican trở nên gần gũi và có thể trở thành cầu nối cho những mối tương quan khác. Trước tiên, tầng lớp lãnh đạo của Iran không chỉ được thúc đẩy bởi Realpolitik, tức là thực thi những đường lối chính trị thực dụng trước mắt, như thắng cử mà không có đường lối hay ý thức hệ chính trị của một đảng. Những nhà lãnh đạo Iran hoạt động trong sự pha trộn tâm lý và văn hóa mà trong đó niềm tin tôn giáo đóng vai trò quan trọng. Đó là điều mà các nhà lãnh đạo phương Tây không thể hiểu được vì khái niệm tách biệt giữa Nhà nước và Giáo hội. Tuy nhiên, giáo hoàng và những người cộng tác của ngài có thể gặp gỡ với những nhà lãnh đạo Iran ngay trên chính lãnh địa này, nơi mà họ tìm thấy một vũ trụ chung về các niềm tin thiêng liêng và thần học. Thứ hai, đó là sự chia rẽ giữa các phái Hồi giáo, mà lớn nhất là hệ phái Shia và Sunni, có thể được xem tương đương với sự chia sẽ giữa Công giáo và các hệ phái Tin Lành hay Chính thống giáo. Và việc đi tìm sự hợp nhất cho sự chia rẽ của các tin đồ cùng tin thờ một Thượng đế là vấn đề mà những người trong cuộc mới hiểu rõ và chia sẻ với nhau. Thứ ba, xét về mặt chính sách, Iran và Vatican dưới thời Đức Phanxicô có nhiều khía cạnh tương đồng. Đó là cả hai đều mong muốn một trật tự thế giới đa phương hơn, không còn bị các cường quốc phương Tây, đặc biệt là Hoa Kỳ, thống trị. Đức Phanxicô là người ủng hộ chính cho liên minh BRICS, trong đó Iran là một trong sáu thành viên mới thành lập, và giáo hoàng có thể được tin tưởng sẽ tiếp tục khuyến khích BRICS trở thành một đối trọng kinh tế và chiến lược thực sự trong các vấn đề toàn cầu. Vấn đề hạt nhân và Syria Đối với Vatican, Syria là nơi có cộng đoàn Công giáo lớn nhất ở vùng Cận Đông. Đó là lý do tại sao từ năm 2013, Đức Phanxicô đã can thiệp vào Syria khi tổng thống Assad có thể đã sử dụng vũ khí hóa học chống lại chính người dân của mình. Vào tháng Chín năm đó, Đức Phanxicô đã kêu gọi một ngày cầu nguyện toàn cầu cho Syria khi tình hình nước này ngày càng hỗn loạn. Bên cạnh việc cầu nguyện, Vatican đã trình bày tóm tắt lập trường cho khoảng 70 vị đại sứ bên cạnh Tòa Thánh rằng một sự can thiệp sẽ chỉ làm trầm trọng thêm xung đột và cần phải tìm kiếm một giải pháp hòa bình. Đức Phanxicô cũng đã viết thư cho các thành viên của G20, khi đó đang nhóm họp ở Nga, lập luận rằng một sự can thiệp quân sự là vô ích. Khi đó Hoa Kỳ đã chọn không can thiệp và thay vào đó, chuyển kho vũ khí hóa học của Assad cho một tổ chức quốc tế. Hành động này cũng kéo Vladimir Putin vào cuộc nhằm bảo vệ những người ki-tô giáo và trong các nỗ lực cung cấp viện trợ nhân đạo. Iran đã bày tỏ sự ngưỡng mộ trước các nỗ lực của Tòa Thánh trong việc ngăn chặn các cuộc không kích vào Syria. Còn đối với Vatican, Iran là một bên không thể thiếu trong việc chấm dứt xung đột ở Syria. Vatican là thành viên sáng lập của Cơ quan Năng lượng Nguyên tử Quốc tế và từ lâu cũng đã ủng hộ thỏa thuận hạt nhân của Iran, coi đây là con đường hướng tới việc sử dụng công nghệ hạt nhân vì mục đích hòa bình. Khi Hoa Kỳ từ bỏ thỏa thuận dưới thời chính quyền Trump vào năm 2018, nhóm ngoại giao của Tòa Thánh đã thể hiện rõ sự phản đối. Những mối quan hệ lịch sử dựa trên tôn giáo và quan điểm chung về Syria đã dẫn đến một liên minh chính trị hoàn toàn về thỏa thuận hạt nhân. Trong quá khứ, vào tháng 4/2014, đã từng có một phái đoàn từ Hội đồng giám mục Hoa Kỳ gặp Hội đồng tối cao của các giáo chủ Chủng viện Qom của Iran. Hai bên đã đạt được lập trường chung chống vũ khí hạt nhân và vũ khí giết người hàng loạt. Trong quá trình gặp gỡ này, các giám mục Hoa Kỳ luôn tham khảo ý kiến từ Vatican. Thế nên, trong các vấn đề của vùng Trung Cận Đông, Vatican muốn giúp tạo động lực cho một tiến trình hòa bình tôn trọng vai trò của Iran và họ coi Téhéran là một bên tham gia không thể thiếu, sẵn sàng bảo vệ các nhóm tín ngưỡng mà cho đến nay các chính phủ phương Tây phần lớn không bảo vệ được. Tương đồng trước những vấn đề tôn giáo chung Trong khi, các lãnh tụ của Iran sẵn sàng nhận điện thoại từ Vatican trong các sự kiện quan trọng, chẳng hạn như tân tổng thống Masoud Pezeshkian đã điện đàm với hồng y Pietro Parolin, quốc vụ khanh Tòa Thánh ngay sau khi thắng cử. Thường các nguyên thủ quốc gia thích tránh né các cuộc gọi chứa đầy nội dung giáo huấn đạo đức từ Vatican. Đó không chỉ vì phép lịch sự ngoại giao của hai nước có mối quan hệ lâu dài, mà họ còn có sự tương đồng. Cả hai quốc gia đều được điều hành bởi một hàng giáo sĩ tôn giáo. Và họ đều nhìn thấy mối nguy của sự xuống cấp về mặt đạo đức nơi các thế hệ trẻ. Sự thiếu đi một bệ đỡ về mặt tinh thần trong một thế giới biến chuyển nhanh chóng và cần phải khẩn cấp cần đến những giải pháp cho vấn đề này. Còn đối với người Việt nói chung, và người ki-tô giáo nói riêng, ngôi mộ của người sáng lập ra chữ quốc ngữ được tìm thấy ở Ispanhan. Linh mục Alexandre de Rhodes hay cha Đắc Lộ (1591-1660) sau sứ mạng truyền giáo ở Việt Nam, ngài được phái đến Ispahan lúc đó là thủ đô của nước Ba Tư. Và qua đời tại đây.

Năm 1980, nhà xã hội học người Mỹ Ronald L. Morris, trong tác phẩm đề tựa « Wait until Dark: Jazz and Underworld » (tạm dịch là Khi màn đêm buông xuống : Jazz và Thế giới ngầm), từng khẳng định nhạc Jazz trong giai đoạn Lệnh cấm (1920-1933) sẽ không còn là Jazz nếu không có sự che chở của các băng đảng tội phạm. Theo ông, Jazz chịu rất nhiều ảnh hưởng từ mafia. Storyville, New Orleans : Nền tảng đầu tiên của mối liên hệ Jazz - Mafia Mối liên hệ này được hình thành tại Storyville, New Orleans vào cuối thế kỷ XIX. Đó là thời điểm làn sóng di cư người Ý diễn ra mạnh mẽ : Trong vòng 20 năm, 1880 – 1900, hơn 650 ngàn người Ý và Sicilia đổ vào nước Mỹ, quốc gia vừa thoát khỏi cảnh Nội Chiến. Bị hắt hủi, bị gạt ra bên lề xã hội, thất nghiệp, không được học hành, những di dân gốc Ý, Do Thái hay châu Phi sống chen chúc trong những khu phố nghèo tại các thành phố cảng lớn như Lower East Side ở New York hay như khu Vieux-Carré tại New Orleans. Các băng đảng tội phạm lần lượt xuất hiện : Mano nera, mafia, cosa nostra…. Không được tiếp cận các ngành kinh doanh hợp pháp, những nhóm tội phạm này mở rộng các hoạt động ngầm về đêm, thâu tóm các lĩnh vực giải trí và sân khấu, giang tay đón nhận những người nghệ sĩ lang thang, đặt nên nền tảng đầu tiên cho mối liên hệ giữa Jazz và Mafia trong nhiều thập niên sau đó của thế kỷ XX. Một thế hệ mới các ông trùm băng đảng gốc Ý, Do Thái hay Ireland ra đời, trong số này phải kể đến Al Capone, Alcatraz hay Dutch Schulz…    Đam mê mãnh liệt nhạc Jazz cùng với sự táo bạo trong cách tổ chức và quản lý thế giới ngầm, thế hệ tội phạm mới này đã tái hiện các đêm nhạc với những câu lạc bộ tiện nghi, vui nhộn hơn, mở cửa cho tất cả các thành phần, và do vậy, đáp ứng nhu cầu hưởng thụ mới của thời kỳ hậu chiến. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.   I dreamt I was hearing what were at first faint hoof beats, but the closer they got, the louder they grew, until it was a thundering roar of not one or two horses but what seemed like hundreds. I felt as though the ground beneath me was shaking from the onrushing horses, and the sound of them became so loud, that I suddenly awoke in my bed. As I blinked a few times, adjusting to the darkness in my room, I noticed a shadow at the foot of my bed. I blinked again, and there stood the same man I have seen on previous occasions, dressed in battle armor, his hands resting atop each other before him, on the hilt of his sword.   “What is the meaning of what I just dreamt?” I asked, somehow knowing he had come to give me the interpretation.   “What you heard”, he began, “were the chariots of war, and they are swiftly approaching. A new war is coming, but it will be unlike this present one. Speak as you have spoken, pray as you have prayed, and walk as you have walked for dark days will soon come upon the land to which you are returning. Even now their enemies plot, even now their enemies unite under one banner, and soon they will make their intentions known to the world. There is no refuge but in the Father, and He will guide and protect those who know His voice”. (And confess His promises.)  I blinked again, and the man was gone, and I was left to ponder the words I had heard. I struggled with whether I should make this dream public, for I know the reaction that some will have to it, and the last thing I desire is to stir fear in the heart of any man. After much prayer I felt I was supposed to publish the dream, and though some may receive it as a reason to fear, the true children of God will receive it for what it was, the forewarning of a loving Father, preparing His children for what is to come. God's desire for us is not ignorance, but rather knowledge, that we may prepare our hearts, in prayer and fasting, that we may draw closer to Him, that we make Him our place of refuge long before hardship forces us to seek one. The wise man prepares, while the foolhardy is caught unaware.   Jeremiah 19:15 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Behold, I will bring on this city and on all her towns all the doom that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their necks that they might not hear My words.       Terrorists Hiding in the States   Michael Boldea Jr. - May 5, 2003  I dreamt I was on a very high ridge, with a great valley spanning out beneath me. The night was calm, the moon and stars shining brightly in the sky. As I looked around trying to get my bearings, I was stunned to see my grandfather (Dumitru Duduman) standing next to me. He looked young and vibrant, his hands in his pockets, and a smile on his face.   “Interesting times ahead my boy, interesting times ahead”, he said. For a minute I was so shocked I couldn't say anything. Finally I blurted out the only thing that came to mind, “They have been interesting ever since you left. Trial after trial, hardship after hardship”.   “Now you know how Jesus felt when He walked the earth”, he answered, “always doing good, always in the Father's will, yet always mocked and rejected, always misunderstood and despised. Besides, it was all a test anyway”.  “A test of what?” I asked.   “For you personally, God wanted to see if you would stay true to your calling even when all seemed lost. He was preparing you and purging you, refining you, for the time when He will use you, and speak to you as He spoke to me”.   Before I could say anything, he lifted his hand to stop me. His fingers were no longer crooked from his arthritis, they were straight, and normal.   “I know what you're going to say my boy, it's not what you want, it's not what you asked for. But you should know by now it is the task you were chosen for. In this you have no choice, besides where can you hide from the face of God? Men have tried before, look how it turned out in the end. To reject what God has planned for you is to deny God. You know what the consequences are”. Unable to find the words to answer, I simply nodded my understanding and allowed him to continue speaking.   “As for why the ministry had to go through what it went through, God has already spoken that to your heart. You already know the answer. God wants all that know of this work, to be certain of one thing. It is He who sustains it; it is He who blesses it, and not the hands of men or their gimmicks. Do you think any of it would still be here after all that has happened if not for God? Never doubt Gods promises concerning this work, or His ability to fulfill them. Hope in God never disappoints; hope in man always leads to disillusionment.” (Amen. God has been preparing and sanctifying His Reformers to be leaders for the soon coming tribulation.)   “Now for the reason I am here. I was sent to show you something. Look and see”, he said, pointing down to the valley below. As I looked, I saw the outline of a map of America then the outlines of states began taking shape. As I continued to watch this map solidify, small lights began to flicker on and off in some of the states. I recognized California, Illinois, Michigan, Arizona, Washington State, Florida, and New York, among the states that lit up. The light was rhythmic, almost like a homing beacon, constant in its progression. I continued watching the lights go on and off, waiting for something else to happen, but nothing did. Finally I said, “I don't understand. What does this mean?”   “These are the places where those who were sent here long ago, to bring fear and cause chaos, have situated themselves. They lay in waiting, planning and plotting destruction. They are as coiled serpents, looking forward to the hour when they will be loosed upon this nation. If God's children pray, once more will He delay the season of sorrow that is yet to come”. (I believe He has done this.)   We stood on the ridge in silence for a long time. After a while the lights stopped flickering in the valley below, and the map began to fade away. Suddenly my grandfather turned his head toward the east, and began to sniff the air as he used to do. “Storms coming my boy, and it's a bad one”, he said. “Now give an old man a hug and let me be on my way. Be vigilant and work while you still can, it's all God asks of any of His servants. If the Father wills it, we will speak again”.   As I hugged my grandfather, I began to hear the rumbling of a great storm. The sky darkened overhead, and the booming of thunder was now audible. In my dream I closed my eyes, and when I opened them again, I was in my bed, awake. I wiped at my cheeks with the back of my hand, and realized I had been crying. As my eyes began to adjust to the dark, I saw that my wife was sitting up in bed, staring at me. When I asked her why she wasn't sleeping, she said I'd been talking in my sleep for over thirty minutes. I tried going back to sleep but sleep would not come. Finally I gave up trying, went into the kitchen and prayed until morning.   Over the past few days, I have spent much time in prayer as to whether I should share this dream or not. I believe that I am supposed to. My prayer is that no one would perceive it as a reason for fear, but rather a reason to hope. God hears the prayers of His children, and as long as He encourages us to pray, we must do so without reservation. The day will come, a day I anticipate with great dread, when God will speak to His children as He spoke to Jeremiah, and say do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry for them any longer. For now, while we still can, may we ceaselessly bring our petitions before the Lord.       Our Secret Place of Safety   David Eells   Everyone is looking for the place of safety in the tribulations to come. One man says the safe place is to be with the Ark of the Covenant, which is said to be in a Chapel next to St Mary of Zion, Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Axum, Ethiopia. I believe that Solomon gave a copy of the Ark to the Queen of Sheba who carried it there.   Be that as it may; God no longer dwells in houses made by men, so the ark is a relic. (Acts 7:47) But Solomon built him (God) a house. (48) Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in [houses] made with hands. That just tells us that the ark in the temple was just a type and shadow of Jesus in His body. As He said, “I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one” (Jn.17:23). God now dwells in the ark of Christ and Christ now dwells in the Body of Christ. In us He is the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein [was] a golden pot holding the manna (of the Word in us), and Aaron's rod that budded (a sign of the authority of the High Priest in us), and the tables of the covenant (of the law written on our heart) (Heb.9:4).   The presence of the Ark ensured Israel of victory and protection. When the Philistines captured the Ark it brought a curse on them so terrible that they sent it home with an offering. On the other hand Jesus said in (Mat.5:13) Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.   Another brother asked me if I thought the Christians will flee for safety to the city of Petra in Jordan. I told him that I thought Petra would be far too small to accommodate them and it would be a natural trap where they could be wiped out. I do believe that some natural Jews will find shelter in Petra, which is the Greek word for “rock”. However, spiritual Jews who are circumcised in heart, have the spiritual Rock of Jesus as a place of safety. Jesus said that standing on Him was the place where Hell had no power over us. (Mat.16:18) And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter (Gr: “Petros”, meaning a piece of the rock), and upon this rock (Greek: Petra) I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Jesus is our rock of safety.   Peter himself said that Jesus was the Rock that we are to be founded on. (1Pet.2:5) ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (6) Because it is contained in scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame. (7) For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner; (8) and, A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence; for they stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. The disobedient stumble through unbelief in the Word and so are not founded on the Rock. Judgment will take them away wherever they hide.   Those who are obedient to the Word through faith are on the safety of the Rock. (Mat.7:24) Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock: (25) and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and if fell not: for it was founded upon the rock. (26) And every one that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: (27) and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and smote upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall thereof. The apostate churches belittle obedience to the Word because of their unbelief.  We don't stand on the Rock in our own strength but our faith gives us God's strength. My wife had a dream of me after we first became Christians. She saw me standing on a Rock in the middle of the ocean. I had leg braces on like crippled people wear to strengthen their legs. I perceived that the Rock was Christ or the Word and the ocean was the curse as was the flood. In our own strength we are crippled and not able to stand on the Word, but the filling of His Spirit and faith in His promises empowers us to be what we normally are not.   It has come to me that only the rich in a time of economic collapse and wrath would be able to fly to the city of Petra, but salvation is for the poor. No amount of money can buy us safety, because it is not a place but a state of being. (Pr.11:4) Riches profit not in the day of wrath; but righteousness delivereth from death. (6) The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them; But the treacherous shall be taken in their own iniquity.   Faith in the Lord makes Him our secret refuge. (Psa.91:1) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Notice the confession that puts us on the Rock. (2) I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust. The secret place of safety will be hidden to many who are only called “Christian” but the righteous are safe right in the middle of judgment. (7) A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; [But] it shall not come nigh thee. (8) Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked. (The good confession that puts us in safety.)  9 For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation; 10  There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent. God's angels will protect the righteous wherever they are. (11) For he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. (12) They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. They do this for the righteous who believe. (Gal.3:13) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (14) that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus.   A friend of mine had a very clear dream about the coming invasion of America. He said everyone in the Gulf States was fleeing toward the north to get as far away from the invading army as possible. He was going to get on a shuttle and go too, but the Lord told him to give his place to someone else and sent him and his family into a local city that had been nuked. He had no fear of the radiation or the enemy. It is obvious that God's people will not need to follow the world's example. Paul was not hiding but sharing the Gospel in the most effective time to do so. He said, “[in] journeyings often, [in] perils of rivers, [in] perils of robbers, [in] perils from [my] countrymen, [in] perils from the Gentiles, [in] perils in the city, [in] perils in the wilderness, [in] perils in the sea, [in] perils among false brethren” (2 Cor.11:26).   The Lord told me that this time represented the second 3½ years of the tribulation period. Paul also said, “what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me” (2Tim.3:11). He also said, “But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom” (2Tim.4:17,18).   If one is called to be a martyr, they will have the protection of God until their testimony is finished and even then only their flesh will be given up for a sacrifice. (Rev.11:7) And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that cometh up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.      Agree with the Blessed Provisions   David  We are in a battle which can be won by those who will speak the Word of the Lord and confess His promises for safety and provision. The Bible tells us that Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Pro.18:21). Let's look at how we can cooperate with God in the process of sanctification so that we are those who speak life and partake of the benefits of the Kingdom and able to give them to others. (Jas.3:8) But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] a restless evil, [it is] full of deadly poison. (9) Therewith bless we the Lord and Father; and therewith curse we men, who are made after the likeness of God: (10) out of the same mouth cometh forth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. (11) Doth the fountain send forth from the same opening [sweet water] and bitter? (12) can a fig tree, my brethren, yield olives, or a vine figs? neither [can] salt water yield sweet. We want to learn by the grace of God to bring forth those “sweet waters” so that we will not suffer with the wicked.  When Moses and the children of Israel came up to Marah, meaning “bitterness” (Exo 15:22-25), they couldn't drink the water. God commanded that a tree be cast into the waters so that they would be made sweet. Marah represents the bitter waters of the fountain, or mouth, which were cured by the tree, representing the Cross. The Cross has conquered our tongue and has given us this gift of the sweet waters so we can bring forth blessings, instead of the cursings, out of this spring of our mouth. Believe this.  The Bible also tells us, The heart of the wise instructeth his mouth, And addeth learning to his lips (Pro.16:23). So we want to educate ourselves to be swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath (Jas.1:19). We need to think about what we are saying and disagree with the devil because he tempts us to speak the things under the curse and not the things of the Kingdom. The Lord is helping us and He has already conquered the tongue, which no man can tame, but the Lord can through His Word and promises. Jesus was the sacrifice Who gave us a new tongue through the reconciliation.   It says in (Jos.1:6) Be strong and of good courage; for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I sware unto their father to give them. (7) Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest. Notice that God said that Joshua (Hebrew: “Jesus”) was going to cause His people to be brought into their inherited Promised Land. This land belongs to us, not every Pagen alien they can invade us with and we will win this battle with them.  We know that the Promised Land is also us. Heb 6:7-8 For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God: 8 but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned. Jesus bore this curse let us confess Him before men.  The Son of God is being manifested in His people. (Col.1:27) … Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is a product of the Word of God being assimilated in our life and mouth; Christ is the Word of God (John 1:14). He saved us from our enemies. (Luk.1:70-74) (As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from of old), 71 Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; ...74 To grant unto us that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies Should serve him without fear,  You crucify the spiritual man when you walk and talk in the flesh and for those who have been filled with the Holy Spirit and enlightened, who have tasted of the heavenly gift, this will become a curse unto them. (Heb.6:7) For the land which hath drunk the rain (Those who have partaken of the Word from heaven.) that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God: (8) but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned. The word “rejected” is adokimos, meaning, specifically, “reprobated.” The apostle Paul said that he kept his body under control if, perhaps, after he had preached to others, he himself would be “rejected” or “reprobated” (1Co 9:27). This has been demonstrated to us.   God doesn't reprobate land; He reprobates people. The Bible is very plain; in the original Greek, we are God's “tilled land” (1Co.3:9). God wants to plow this earth, our natural life, and plant His seed in the midst of it, bringing forth the fruit of Jesus Christ in us. The land that Joshua wants to cause us to inherit is referring to our new fruit and life. Part of that is our bold faith. The spiritual man, the Israelite, is to conquer this land with the edge of the Sword, the Word of God. The spiritual man is to take the land from the enemy, the Canaanite and live in his house, our body, and plant his crop and bear the fruit of the spiritual man.   (Jos.1:7) Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest. Notice that turning to the right or left would cause failure to take our Promised Land from the enemies.   I had a dream many years ago where I was standing on a mountain, looking down into a valley and a road that went down the side of this mountain. The road had a ditch or trench down the middle of it. I was in a car, with one set of tires on one side of the trench and the other set on the other side, going down this road to the bottom of the mountain. I realized I couldn't turn to the right or the left because, if I did, two wheels would fall into the trench and that would be the end of any progress; I wouldn't go any farther. I steered very carefully, not to the right and not to the left, as I went down this mountain. Let us speak what the Word says about us.  The Lord gave me the understanding afterward that this mountain represented the kingdom of the world – man, self or the old life. I was to navigate this road and not turn to the right or left, until I got off of this mountain. As soon as I was at the bottom, I immediately realized that there were enemies everywhere. To the extent that we humble ourselves to the Word of God, going down the mountain of “self,” the more enemies we will have, even religious enemies or so-called “Christian” enemies. (2Ti.3:12) … All that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But as we hold fast to the confession of our hope the enemies will be conquered as our faction was and the political faction shall be. (Luk10:19) Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.  Most of the persecution toward Jesus and the disciples came from the people who called themselves the “people of God” but were not. When I got to the bottom and knew that the enemy was everywhere, I went under a bush and there I found tools that I picked up, and treated them as if they were treasure. These tools were hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches and so on. The Lord later revealed to me that these tools represented the authority to bind and loose (Mat 18:18), as all of these tools do. The Lord made me to know I was coming to a time, when under the bush, I was going to manifest more of this authority. Let us bind our enemies in the name of Jesus.   At the time of the burning bush, Moses was given authority to go into Egypt to act for the Lord. I've been binding and loosing for many years but I believe that we're coming to a time of real power from God. It's only going to come to those who humble themselves and don't turn to the right or to the left, but stay on God's road, a self-crucifying path of obedience to the Word of God. When I picked up these tools, I went up another mountain, which represented Mount Zion. I went through the front doors of a great temple, which I believe represented the New Jerusalem on Mount Zion and I saw Jesus sitting on His throne. I went over and sat down next to Him, as He said that overcomers would do. (Rev.3:21) He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne. This is the throne of dominion over our enemies.  As I was speaking with Jesus, I heard people trying to come into the throne room by a back way and not through the door that I had come through. Jesus is the door in John 10:1. Jesus saw these people and said, “Don't worry about them; they can't come in here.” So these were people looking for “throne room” authority but they wouldn't humble themselves to the Word of God personally. The Pharisees only had physical authority as in our day. God will give authority only to those who overcome according to Rev 2:26. Back to (Jos.1:8) This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate thereon day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. The spiritual man speaks the Word so that as you walk, it will bring good success when conquering our Promised Land for the Lord. The first fruits are approaching this point. We must speak according to God's promises, even in the midst of the fiery trial. As Christians, we “calleth the things that are not, as though they were” (Rom.4:17). We speak the things we have according to promise and not according to what we see in the world. This is how we change the things around us. This is God's plan. We let the Word, or our agreement with the Word in what we say, come from our mouth so that we may have good success in conquering our Promised Land.   Further on in Joshua, we see that he is still leading the people of God to conquer their Promised Land in order to put to death their enemies there. In this particular case, the head of God's people, Joshua, is conquering the Amorites. (Jos.10:12) Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel; and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; And thou, Moon, in the valley of Aijalon. I believe God is showing us here to what extent He would go to give our enemy into our hands, if we would speak the Word with boldness.   (Jos.10:8) And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thy hands; there shall not a man of them stand before thee. On a personal and spiritual level that “man” He was referring to was the old man who lived in the Promised Land of our life before the new man took possession. He represented the lusts of the flesh, which would not be able to stand. On a physical and political level it would be the DS and their invading army. Joshua and the children of Israel were having victory over the Amorites but they were running out of time. Remember, the Lord said that if we confess Him before men, He shall confess us before the Father in Mat 10:32.   Likewise, Joshua confessed in the sight of Israel. He was bold and full of faith and he spoke it right in front of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; And thou, Moon, in the valley of Aijalon (Jos.10:12). (13) And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, Until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stayed in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.   Now at first, I thought God just stopped Earth from spinning, but I later realized that the moon stayed in the same relative position as the sun and Earth didn't spin. It's possible the whole solar system had stopped. This is a very dangerous thing to do, unless you also control the rest of the universe. Things would tend toward collision down the road somewhere. Can you imagine that God stopped the solar system and more, just so Israel could conquer their enemy? What kind of other big miracle can you imagine that God would do for us to give us victory over our enemy? God gave the Israelites an awesome victory over their enemies! Of course, they needed the time and, for a whole day, the system was frozen. We have all heard of NASA finding the missing day so they could calculate where things would be at a certain time.  People claim that God only did that back then and does not do that today, simply because of the verse right after it. (Jos.10:14) And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel. Well, the Lord still hearkens unto our voice, for many people speak miracles today and they come to pass as they did in the Bible long after Joshua. The key here is “voice of a man” The creation now hearkens to the voice of God through man.  Jesus said, the words that I have spoken unto you are spirit, and are life (Joh.6:63), meaning they are His Spirit and His life. In other words, it's the life of God living in us; it's the spiritual man who speaks in agreement with the Word of God. Also, it is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Eph.6:17). Therefore, it's not as if God is hearkening unto the voice of a man, but He is hearkening unto the voice of His sons. That spiritual man in us is not man, but God. The Son of God is manifesting in His people speaking His Words out of us. When we come into agreement with the Word, we can be trusted. The Lord said, If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you (Joh.15:7). Why? The Word in you is trustworthy to God. If you fill yourself up with the Word and you desire earnestly to walk in agreement with it, God says you're trustworthy.   A long time after Joshua, the Lord wrote this: (Isa.45:11) Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: Ask me of the things that are to come; concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands, command ye me. Does God really do that? When you command something to be done, like when His disciples commanded healings, deliverances, provision and so on, God fulfilled it. God gave them the authority, which is the right to use power and it's what we do when we speak in agreement with the Word of God. In effect, what we are doing is commanding God, since He said that if we do, He will do it and Jesus said the same.   Psalm 8 was spoken concerning the natural Adam and his seed, but also in type to spiritual Adam, Jesus Christ, and His seed. (Psa.8:6) Thou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet. This was said of man and the Son of man. Jesus said that God had given Him authority because He is son of man (Joh.5:27). Man was given authority on the earth but when Adam sinned, he lost that authority to Satan. However, we gained it back through Jesus Christ because He was faithful. We now have this authority over the works of God's hands when we speak in agreement with the Word of God and He fulfills it. (Lam.3:37) Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?   The next thing we see in Joshua is that they went after the five kings who were ruling the Promised Land. (Jos.10:16) And these five kings fled, and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah. (17) And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah. (18) And Joshua said, Roll great stones unto the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to keep them: (19) but stay not ye; pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the Lord your God hath delivered them into your hand. The first thing they did was trap the five kings in the cave and then they rolled great stones over the mouth of the cave.   Adam was created from the dust of the earth and this old man is earthly, but as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly (1Co.15:49). We are both earthly and heavenly, a spiritual man of the heavens and the carnal man of the earth represented by this cave in the earth. The carnal man of the earth has a mouth and here it's called “the mouth of the cave.” The Lord made the spiritual men roll these great stones over the mouth of the cave. The five kings represent the five senses and the spiritual man put stones, which represent the Word, over the mouth so the carnal senses are not permitted to speak and bring a curse.   The Bible says that senses must be exercised by the Word of God so that we understand the difference between good and evil. (Heb.5:13) For every one that partaketh of milk is without experience of the word of righteousness; for he is a babe. (14) But solid food is for fullgrown men, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil. Born-again people have born-again senses. As spiritual men, we must have spiritual senses. Our carnal senses trap and rule over us and our land when we live according to what we see, hear and feel as the old man and the world does.   God teaches us how to spiritually see in (2Pe.1:3) Seeing that his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue. We see that God has already provided us everything that pertains unto life and godliness! Now you have the eyes of a dove (Son 1:15). You have the eyes of the Spirit when you begin to see that the promises are true, but the world is transitory. (2Pe.1:4) Whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises (the stones at the mouth of the cave); that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.   Having eyes to see, we can partake of God's nature. We will have spiritual eyes, ears, touch, spiritual smell (or discernment), spiritual taste and words. We've been given these spiritual gifts that enable the spiritual man to take over. The Israelites had captured the five kings who ruled the Promised Land in a cave and they closed up the mouth with great stones. And we know, Jesus is the Stone; He's the Rock which is the Word of God. These great stones represent the great promises of the Word of God. We're adding learning to our lips, which are the “mouth of the cave.”   When we study the Word of God, we learn and see what we are supposed to say and what we're not supposed to say. It gives us restraint to not say things that would permit a curse upon our life. The Israelites had to conquer the Promised Land, and conquer these kings that ruled over the carnal man and bring the curse upon him. And this is what the parable points to – rolling out those stones in front of the mouth. (Eph.4:29) Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying (building-up) as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.   We can see that we can apply many verses when speaking of conquering the DS with all their invaders who are getting ready to overthrow this land we live in. Just a couple come quickly to mind. (Mat.18:18-19) Verily I say unto you, What things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven. And (Mar.11:23-24) Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it. 24 Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. These will come in useful when the invaders rise up.  If we see and walk in the Spirit, then we speak in agreement with the Spirit. (2Co.7:1) Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Our nature is changed by the Word of God when …we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit. (2Co 3:18) When we see a need, such as someone living under the curse, we should speak truth with grace to them to overcome, grace to meet that need, whatever it may be. When we speak according to the Kingdom, we are meeting someone's need for God and His benefits. Saving this country from the invaders to whatever extent God permits is a need.  They will be permitted to persecute the apostate Church for it is in rebellion to the Word of our covenant. (Col.3:17) And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, [do] all in the name (Greek: “nature, character and authority”) of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Do everything as if you are representing Him because you are an ambassador of Christ (2Co 5:20), so speak His words to this world and His enemies. We're called to confess Him before men always and to speak in His name.   (1Pe.4:11) If any man speaketh, speaking as it were oracles of God; if any man ministereth, [ministering] as of the strength which God supplieth: that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen. When we speak as an oracle of God, that is His Word coming out of us, we're letting the spiritual man, who is in communication with God through our spirit, do the speaking. We don't let the carnal man, the flesh, do the speaking.   To walk holy is to walk separate. The Greek word for “holy” is the same word for “sanctified” and it means “separate”; that is, separated from the world, from sin, separated unto God. We speak His words, think His thoughts and we do His works because He lives in us. The more we do that, the more we grow in holiness. It's the place of Holiness, preservation and provision. Without holiness, no man can see the Lord (Heb 12:14). Holiness is what we grow in when we bear the fruit of Jesus Christ. It is separation from the old man, who is moved and ruled by the carnal senses, unto the new man, who is ruled according to the spiritual senses.   Now let's go to (Isa.11:2) And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. (3) And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither decide after the hearing of his ears; (4) but with righteousness shall he judge the poor (This is poor in the things of the Kingdom), and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. (5) And righteousness shall be the girdle of his waist, and faithfulness the girdle of his loins.   He's talking about Christ in His first-fruits Man-child in the end-time who will not walk according to the carnal senses because he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither decide after the hearing of his ears (Isa.11:3). Instead, we are to have our senses exercised to discern good from evil (Heb 5:14) by the Word of God, which is the washing of water with the word (Eph.5:26). As our senses are exercised, we begin to see and hear spiritually; we begin to hear and speak the Voice of the Spirit.   It's similar to when David went to slay Goliath, the giant in the land. He went to the brook and pulled out those five smooth stones that were exercised by the washing of the water, which represents the Word. He took only one of those stones and he felled Goliath (1Sa 17). David spoke it to him ahead of time, declaring that he would take off Goliath's head and feed him to the birds. That's very bold! And because David spoke it, that's exactly what he did. The stone, or sense, that David was using was the tongue. The tongue senses tastes but it also speaks the Word. David conquered Goliath because he had spiritual senses.   Now we can return to Joshua. He told the Israelites to go after their enemies, since the five kings were already trapped in the cave and closed off with the stones. Now they were able to conquer those whom the kings had ruled over. (Jos.10:20) And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities, (21) that all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.   (22) Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring forth those five kings unto me out of the cave. (23) And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon. (24) And it came to pass, when they brought forth those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the chiefs of the men of war that went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.   They let them out of the cave and they had to keep them from speaking, so they put their feet on their necks. It reminds me of the dream I've shared before about being in a war with a giant and not letting the old man speak. When he did, he said, “Bigger, bigger, bigger!” We have a lot of giants around us – a lot of big problems and a lot of big enemies. But we can't let the old man, whom I captured in the dream and who was in bondage to me, speak out of our mouth. I didn't want to let him speak because the old man has the authority to make the situation worse and make the enemy stronger and bigger. I refused him and demanded that the giant be reduced, saying, “No! Smaller, smaller, smaller.”   Similarly, the Israelites put their feet on the kings' necks, causing the five senses to not speak or to rule over the body. (Jos.10:25) And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed; be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight. (Notice, you speak the Word and the Lord will do it. In Rev.12:11, the devil and his angels were cast down by the “word of their testimony” of the saints.)  (26) And afterward Joshua smote them, and put them to death, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening. Notice that all of our enemies, firstly our old man, will be conquered in this way. Father said against Babylon in Jer.51:3 …Utterly destroy all her army. We are not permitted to wrestle with flesh nor use fleshly weapons but to “resist not” and if opportunity arises we are to preach Christ to them.  But we have authority over all their power and that includes the principalities and powers. (Luk.10:19) Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. As an example to us, before Jesus' time of crucifixion, when the Jews sought to throw him off a cliff, he just passed through their midst unharmed. I was shot at by an assassin from close range and my angel made the bullet disappear. A tractor back blade was thrown straight at my head by a demon, while Michael watched, but all I felt was a finger on my nose pushing me to the ground with zero pain. That was just ahead of the blade. Michael was sure it had hit and killed me.  My tractor wheel fell into a hole and the tractor was flipping into a gully. I was looking straight down at the ground when the tractor uprighted with me stuck in the seat. It was a work of our satanists. Several other times I escaped them. (Luk.1:68) ...For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people... 71 Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us...74 To grant unto us that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies Should serve him without fear.  Jesus Christ was hanged upon a tree, or cross, and they wanted to take Him down before evening, too. Jesus also was buried in a cave. So why is God applying this to the senses of the old man? (Gal.2:20) I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. That includes our five senses. The Lord has already taken care of this problem when He was crucified on that tree and you were crucified with Him. You have been given this gift of the new man, for by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified (Heb.10:14).  We walk in the spirit according to these divine senses that are attuned to the Kingdom of Heaven. These senses see how to walk in the Kingdom. It comes quite naturally to us to walk in the world but it comes supernaturally to us to walk in the Kingdom; that is, to have our senses exercised by the Word of God to see and hear the way God sees and hears, and to smell, or discern, the way God does. It is also to have our emotions in communication with God.   We have the victory over the old man and his senses because he's dead and the new man, Who is Jesus Christ, lives in you. Because of your faith and speaking that faith, God will bring it to pass. He will do it through our faith and not by our works. (Eph.2:8) For by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, [it is] the gift of God; (9) not of works, that no man should glory.   Father, we pray that You will (Psa.141:3) Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips. Amen.  So we know that in the Kingdom of Heaven, there is singing, praise, worship and thanksgiving to the Lord our King. When we do this, we are bringing more of His Kingdom down here to earth. (Mat.6:10)  We have ‘authority over all the power of the enemy' (Luk.10:19). We have power in praise. When we praise the Lord, He gives us the victory!       Worship and Praise   Vines Expository Dictionary on the Greek word Worship: “to make obeisance, do reverence to” (from pros, “towards”, and kuneo, “to kiss”), is the most frequent word rendered “to worship”. It is used of an act of homage or reverence. In other words, worship is an act of love toward God.   Father is looking for those who worship Him with their all: (Joh.4:21) Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father. (22) Ye worship that which ye know not: we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews. (23) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers. (24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth. There is much fake worship -- words without heart and spirit.   Worship is the way to bring God's presence: (Psa.100:1) Make a joyful noise unto Jehovah, all ye lands. (2) Serve Jehovah with gladness: Come before his presence with singing. (3) Know ye that Jehovah, he is God: It is he that hath made us, and we are his; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. (4) Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Give thanks unto him, and bless his name. (5) For Jehovah is good; His lovingkindness endureth forever, And his faithfulness unto all generations.   Worship reveals our love and admiration for God and He knows it: (1Ch.29:11) Thine, O Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Jehovah, and thou art exalted as head above all.   Praise Him everywhere, with a new song that comes from your heart, and dancing and with all instruments and enemies will be conquered: (Psa.149:1) Praise ye Jehovah. Sing unto Jehovah a new song, And his praise in the assembly of the saints. (2) Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. (3) Let them praise his name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto him with timbrel and harp. (4) For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people: He will beautify the meek with salvation. (5) Let the saints exult in glory: Let them sing for joy upon their beds. (This will bind our enemies works against us.)  (7)  To execute vengeance upon the nations, And punishments upon the peoples;  (8)  To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron;  (9)  To execute upon them the judgment written: This honor have all his saints. Praise ye Jehovah. (Children can conquer enemies in worship.) Psa 8:2  Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength, Because of thine adversaries, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. (150:1) Praise ye Jehovah. Praise God in his sanctuary: Praise him in the firmament of his power. (2) Praise him for his mighty acts: Praise him according to his excellent greatness. (3) Praise him with trumpet sound: Praise him with psaltery and harp. (4) Praise him with timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe. (5) Praise him with loud cymbals: Praise him with high sounding cymbals. (6) Let everything that hath breath praise Jehovah. Praise ye Jehovah. It is the will of the Lord to worship in songs and hymns: (Eph.5:17) Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (18) And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit; 19 speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; (20) giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; We give thanks to God; this is a secret of power because we believe we have already received what we asked, right?   Praise (meaning “brag on”) Him to everyone: (1Ch.16:23) Sing unto Jehovah, all the earth; Show forth his salvation from day to day. (24) Declare his glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples. (25) For great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised: He also is to be feared above all gods. (26) For all the gods of the peoples are idols: But Jehovah made the heavens. (27) Honor and majesty are before him: Strength and gladness are in his place. (28) Ascribe unto Jehovah, ye kindreds of the peoples, Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength; (29) Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name: Bring an offering, and come before him: Worship Jehovah in holy array. (30) Tremble before him, all the earth: The world also is established that it cannot be moved. (31) Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; And let them say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth.   We are taught to worship, praise and pray with hands lifted up to the Lord: (1Ti.2:8) I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing. (Psa.63:4) So will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. (Lam.3:41) Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. (Neh.8:6) and Ezra blessed Jehovah, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with the lifting up of their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped Jehovah with their faces to the ground.   Why lifting up hands? Offering our hands to the Lord for His works and to conquer His enemies: (Exo.17:9) And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to-morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand. (10) So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. (11) And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. (12) But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; And his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. (13) And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.   Worship and praise will conquer overwhelming enemies: (2Ch.20:17) Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem; fear not, nor be dismayed: to-morrow go out against them: for Jehovah is with you. (18) And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before Jehovah, worshipping Jehovah. (19) And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites, stood up to praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, with an exceeding loud voice.   (20) And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem: believe in Jehovah your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (22) And when they began to sing and to praise, Jehovah set liers-in-wait against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, that were come against Judah; and they were smitten. (The angels will smite the enemies in the land.)  Worship to bind the enemy and their kings: (Psa.149:6) Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand; (7) To execute vengeance upon the nations, And punishments upon the peoples; (The Lord is doing this.) (8) To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; (9) To execute upon them the judgment written: This honor have all his saints. Praise ye Jehovah.   Because judgment and enemies are near, fear God and worship Him: (Rev.14:7) and he saith with a great voice, Fear God, and give him glory; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made the heaven and the earth and sea and fountains of waters. (Dan.3:16) Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer thee in this matter. (17) If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of thy hand, O king. (18) But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.   (2Ki.17:38) and the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods: (39) but Jehovah your God shall ye fear; and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.   We can clap and shout our triumph over our enemies. Triumph is celebrating the victory before we see it: (Psa.47:1) Oh clap your hands, all ye peoples; Shout unto God with the voice of triumph. (Jos.6:20) So the people shouted, and the priests blew the trumpets; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.   Praise in Hebrew is “Hallal”, meaning brag on the Lord. Give credit or ascribe to the Lord: (Psa.29:1) Ascribe unto Jehovah, O ye sons of the mighty, Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength. (2) Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name; Worship Jehovah in holy array. (3) The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters: The God of glory thundereth, Even Jehovah upon many waters. (4) The voice of Jehovah is powerful; The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty. (5) The voice of Jehovah breaketh the cedars; Yea, Jehovah breaketh in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. When we speak in agreement with the Word of God, we are giving “voice” to the Word and the angels hearken to His voice. (Psa.103:20) Bless Jehovah, ye his angels, That are mighty in strength, that fulfil his word, Hearkening unto the voice of his word. Amen!

Last week, federal ICE officers detained a Columbia University student over last year's Israel-Palestine campus protests. The Trump administration revoked grad student Mahmoud Khalil's green card, with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt accusing Khalil of “siding with terrorists.” Is the administration infringing on First Amendment rights? Federal attention on Columbia University extended beyond the arrest of Khalil. The White House also announced a plan to cancel over $400 million in federal funding for the university over insufficient protections for Jewish students on campus. Education Secretary Linda McMahon claimed that Columbia had abandoned its anti-discriminatory obligation to protect Jewish students on campus. Is the federal government overdoing its oversight on college campuses? Both Democrats and Republicans have supported expanding the child tax credit, but you'd never know from how they talk about it.
