A blast from the past. My previous co-host from the Thought For Food days Aaron Stuber returns to the show for a random conversation covering ADHD, writing books, mortality, and more. Visit intheflownutrition.com to connect and sign up for nutrition consulting services.
Aaron and I return for part 2 of our conversation around wearable and tracking technology for athletes; their pros and cons, place in sport, and our experience using them professionally and personally. We dive into the realm of nutrition and fitness tracking tools like Cronometer and Strava, plus biomarker software like InsideTracker.
What's the deal with wearable technology? Things like the Whoop strap, Oura ring, Apple Watches, glucose monitors, etc. are becoming more and more popular in the athletic performance scene, claimed to give an "edge" to tracking performance metrics. But is this tech something we should all be focused on? Friend of the podcast and previous co-host of Thought For Food, Aaron Stuber joins the show to discuss in a candid, free-flowing conversation about this stuff. Let's dive in.
As an homage to my previous podcast, Thought For Food, I want to repost some of my favorite episodes. Starting off with one of my proudest - What's the Deal with Fiber. My co-host Aaron Stuber and I break down everything you need to know about the world's most underrated and wonderful nutrient. As you'll hear, fiber feeds the vast colony of intestinal bacteria - our microbiome - to fuel the good ones doing all sorts of awesome stuff including immune function and cancer growth prevention, and of course implicated in those epic dumps we all love. I sit down with my dear friend and previous Thought For Food co-host, Aaron Stuber to talk about the concept of Lifestyle Medicine and how it can be applied to active people and athletes. We discuss the 6 pillars of Lifestyle Medicine, meditation, social media, exercise addiction, and more. Learn more about what Aaron is up to at http://aaronstuber.com

Jackson and Aaron from Thought For Food Lifestyle are here to talk about why there's so much pseudoscience within veganism, and how we can all work toward bringing back sanity to the movement. We also discuss how Jackson and Aaron fuel their respective athletic training on 100% plant-based diets, why fiber is the most underrated nutrient of all time, and the concept of the preponderance of evidence, and how to use it when you're evaluating whether or not a health, nutrition, or fitness claim is bullshit.

Between the current advances in plant-based meat alternatives and innovations taking place in the "clean meat" industry, the food landscape as we know it could change dramatically over the next several years. How will these changes impact our understanding of what meat is, and will that effect the vegan movement? We sit down with Jackson Long and Aaron Stuber of the Thought For Food Podcast to discuss.
Aaron Stuber and Jackson Long are the irreverent, hilarious, and extremely fit duo behind the Thought For Food Podcast and nascent publishing empire. Aaron is a cardiovascular nurse, and a long-time competitive climber. When he first started dating his vegetarian girlfriend, he initially dismissed that diet as "the dumbest thing I've ever heard of." Then he began to feel the effects of adding more plants to his diet, checked out the science, and was hooked. Jackson is a competitive road cyclist who has competed at the national and international levels. During one particularly grueling training season, he followed his coaches' paleo advice and ditched the carbs - and started feeling terrible. He also turned to research, found Forks Over Knives, Rich Roll, and Brendan Brazier, and turned his health and his fitness around in short order.
