When Dehumanisation Comes Home — HoCoSo Conversation (13 January 2026)In this compelling episode of the HoCoSo Conversation, host Jay Humphries and psychotherapist/philosopher Dr. Andreas Schreiber explore the language, framing, and institutional dynamics that shape our collective understanding of justice, power, and human dignity.Recorded on 13 January 2026, this conversation takes a thoughtful turn into the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old American citizen who was shot and killed by a federal immigration agent in Minneapolis during a large enforcement operation earlier that month. Video evidence, official statements, and private autopsy reports — some released after the recording — have produced deeply divergent public narratives about what happened. Minnesota officials, community members, and legal observers continue to raise questions about accountability and transparency, and at least one federal prosecutor reportedly resigned in protest over investigative decisions. Using this case as a starting point — and recorded before subsequent incidents, including another fatal shooting of Alex Pretti — the episode examines how dehumanisation appears in language and policy, how public discourse can shift blame and narrow empathy, and how these processes can erode trust in institutions. The discussion also extends to broader themes, including the rise of artificial intelligence, future socioeconomic structures such as universal income, and what they might mean for human identity and purpose. This episode is not about simple answers or partisanship. It is about patterns of language, power, and permission — and the crucial question of what is required to defend human dignity in an increasingly complex world. For more details on Dr. Andreas Schreiber:www.curavitae.euwww.curavitae.eu/logotherapie-existenzanalyse00:00 Introduction to the HoCoSo Conversation01:41 The Renee Good Case: A Shocking Investigation03:21 ICE Agents and Community Tensions04:33 The Shooting Incident: A Detailed Account07:15 Media Spin and Public Reaction10:32 Dehumanization and Its Consequences19:08 Historical Parallels and Modern Implications28:08 Captain Mark Kelly's Stand for Democracy30:55 Iranian Regime's Tactics of Fear31:43 US Hypocrisy and Military Actions32:35 Civilian Casualties and Global Reactions36:03 The Power of Language in Shaping Reality48:40 Dehumanization and the Role of AI49:41 Universal Income and Human Purpose51:32 Potential Consequences of a Controlled Society01:06:29 The Importance of Words in Preventing Dehumanization01:07:23 Conclusion and Call to ActionFollow us on Instagram: @hocosoconversation and Linkedin: HoCoSo Conversation

It happened. We did it. Biden-Harris 2020!!!! Tianna smokes God's gift and Sam celebrates with a lot of tequila as President Elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris make history. America showed up for integrity, democracy, and a President who can once again form complete sentences. What a world! Can't forget we elected the first WOMAN OF COLOR TO THE SECOND HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND! Trump's lackeys are too embarrassed to give up so they double down on unfounded voter fraud claims, Georgia enters a run-off, and the only black republican house member leaves said house. Captain Mark Kelly rockets into the senate and a lot of drugs are about to be decriminalized in Oregon. Did Tianna get the best bday present a girl could ask for? Did Sam throw up in a Walmart bathroom the day the results were announced? Light up & tune in to find out!

In this episode, Beth and Chad review two astronaut lectures they attended this week: Working at NASA with astronaut coworkers. Captain Mark Kelly and Colonel Frederick Gregory. Following a mission checklist. Being adventurous and curious. Key Takeaways: Cpt. Kelly’s experience as a test pilot helped shape him for his time as an astronaut, as did Col. Gregory’s experience as a career pilot. NASA astronauts are primarily trained in operational procedures, they already know how to handle the missions and distractions. You aren’t done with a mission when the mission is over – there are always lessons learned. Know who you are surrounding yourself with and spending your time with. “Every mission is a new lesson that gets moved forward. Lessons learned were a big thing at NASA.” — Chad Mund About Beth Mund: Beth’s love for space started as a Space Camp attendee at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, where she would return years later as an instructor. After grad school, Beth worked as a journalist, a technical writer for Motorola, and then went on to serve as a Public Affairs Officer for the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. In addition, Beth worked to support the International Space Station program as a communication specialist. In Chicago, Beth worked as a corporate communication advisor to Fortune 50 companies including Allstate and United Airlines. She’s worked as a college instructor, a political advisor, and public relations manager for her hometown city. Beth recently founded Stellar Communications, LLC and travels the country as a keynote speaker- inspiring audiences with her lessons learned from our nation’s space program.
