In this episode, we break down the ICE shooting in Minneapolis and talk about what it reveals about state violence in America today. We start with the story of Mexican Spider-Man, a real-life hero who saved people during a mall shooting, and then shift into a much heavier conversation about how police brutality and federal force are handled when violence comes from the state. We talk about the ICE shooting in Minneapolis, how quickly the media spin machine went to work, and how propaganda shapes public understanding of state violence. We examine how law enforcement accountability disappears, how character assassination becomes the default response, and why moments like this signal something far bigger than a single incident. We also dig into the DEI hypocrisy playing out in real time. We talk about how inclusion is celebrated in safe, marketable ways while state violence against marginalized communities is ignored or justified. We explore how police brutality, ICE actions, and media narratives combine to normalize violence and erode civil liberties. Finally, we bring this conversation back to parenting. We talk about how to raise thoughtful, critical news consumers, how to help kids understand what is happening without overwhelming fear, and how to stay grounded and solution-oriented when institutions fail. This is not an easy episode, but it is a necessary one.

When Dehumanisation Comes Home — HoCoSo Conversation (13 January 2026)In this compelling episode of the HoCoSo Conversation, host Jay Humphries and psychotherapist/philosopher Dr. Andreas Schreiber explore the language, framing, and institutional dynamics that shape our collective understanding of justice, power, and human dignity.Recorded on 13 January 2026, this conversation takes a thoughtful turn into the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old American citizen who was shot and killed by a federal immigration agent in Minneapolis during a large enforcement operation earlier that month. Video evidence, official statements, and private autopsy reports — some released after the recording — have produced deeply divergent public narratives about what happened. Minnesota officials, community members, and legal observers continue to raise questions about accountability and transparency, and at least one federal prosecutor reportedly resigned in protest over investigative decisions. Using this case as a starting point — and recorded before subsequent incidents, including another fatal shooting of Alex Pretti — the episode examines how dehumanisation appears in language and policy, how public discourse can shift blame and narrow empathy, and how these processes can erode trust in institutions. The discussion also extends to broader themes, including the rise of artificial intelligence, future socioeconomic structures such as universal income, and what they might mean for human identity and purpose. This episode is not about simple answers or partisanship. It is about patterns of language, power, and permission — and the crucial question of what is required to defend human dignity in an increasingly complex world. For more details on Dr. Andreas Schreiber:www.curavitae.euwww.curavitae.eu/logotherapie-existenzanalyse00:00 Introduction to the HoCoSo Conversation01:41 The Renee Good Case: A Shocking Investigation03:21 ICE Agents and Community Tensions04:33 The Shooting Incident: A Detailed Account07:15 Media Spin and Public Reaction10:32 Dehumanization and Its Consequences19:08 Historical Parallels and Modern Implications28:08 Captain Mark Kelly's Stand for Democracy30:55 Iranian Regime's Tactics of Fear31:43 US Hypocrisy and Military Actions32:35 Civilian Casualties and Global Reactions36:03 The Power of Language in Shaping Reality48:40 Dehumanization and the Role of AI49:41 Universal Income and Human Purpose51:32 Potential Consequences of a Controlled Society01:06:29 The Importance of Words in Preventing Dehumanization01:07:23 Conclusion and Call to ActionFollow us on Instagram: @hocosoconversation and Linkedin: HoCoSo Conversation

Week three of Burn Notice lands like it's already month twelve. Vince the Firestarter and OG Napalm Duke Nukem open on MLK Day and the administration's late-night, pressure-made proclamation, then pivot into a deeper point: America loves to quote Black leaders after it tried to bury them. The conversation tears into how institutions, including legacy civil rights orgs and Black “respectability” spaces, can drift into bureaucracy and status-chasing, rewriting founders and softening missions to stay palatable. From MLK's “bastardized” legacy to Malcolm's name, from the sanitized Emmett Till curriculum to media consolidation and narrative control, they argue the playbook is always the same: cherry-pick, domesticate, and distract. From there, the episode broadens into a hard critique of grift and commodification: political opportunists, celebrity commentary without action, megachurch prosperity hustle, and an education system that became a debt factory once a bachelor's degree turned into the new high school diploma. They trace the economic hamster wheel, explain why unions once built the middle class, and connect today's wage stagnation to predatory capitalism. The episode closes on urgency and a line in the sand: ICE violence is the warning flare, and allies don't get applause from the stands. If you're not actively in the fight, don't reach for the “we were on your side” handshake later. In Burn Notice terms: get in the game, or stay in the seats, but don't ask for the jersey.

Hour 1 of Rush to Reason opens with urgency and conviction as host John Rush frames a world in rapid transition—economically, politically, and geopolitically. Joined by Jordan Goodman, known as “America's Money Answers Man,” the discussion dives into inflation, interest rates, oil prices, and whether Federal Reserve policy is shaping outcomes by design rather than data. Are tariffs an economic burden—or a strategic weapon tied directly to national defense and foreign policy? The conversation widens to global power shifts: unrest in Iran, the fallout from Venezuela, Russia's shrinking leverage, and China's response as alliances wobble. What happens if the BRICS nations succeed in bypassing the U.S. dollar—and how would 100% tariffs reshape the global economy overnight? Jordan breaks down why parts of the U.S. economy appear to be booming while others struggle, pointing to artificial intelligence, data centers, and soaring gold prices as clues to what's really happening beneath the surface. With a Supreme Court ruling looming, this hour asks a critical question: are we witnessing routine economic turbulence—or the opening moves of a much larger financial and geopolitical showdown? HOUR 2 Hour 2 of Rush to Reason accelerates the urgency as John and Andy tackle two explosive questions: what happens after Iran's current regime collapses, and when do states' rights end and national security begin? The hour opens with a hard look at Iran's unrest, the possibility of the Shah's son returning, and whether chaos could still lead to a freer, Western-leaning nation. Callers with personal ties to Iran add a raw perspective, asking if this moment is the best chance in decades for real change. The conversation then pivots sharply to energy, arguing that green policies in California and Canada aren't just local experiments—but national security risks. If refinery shutdowns, fuel-blend mandates, and blocked oil development drive up costs across state lines and threaten military readiness, should Washington intervene? The hosts challenge the limits of states' rights, comparing energy policy to voter integrity, fraud, and interstate harm. Is environmental ideology quietly destabilizing the economy—and how long can the federal government afford to look the other way? HOUR 3 Hour 3 of Rush to Reason sharpens the focus on media bias, public trust, and government overreach as John and Andy tackle some of the day's most contentious narratives. The hour features a key guest, Christine Czernejewski , President and CEO of Mediapedia (https://mediapedia.org/), who breaks down how legacy media shaped early coverage of a Minnesota ICE shooting—highlighting omitted facts, selective imagery, and why journalists often rush to a predetermined storyline. How much context is being left out—and who decides what the public sees first? The discussion intensifies as callers and hosts dissect the incident itself, challenging claims of innocence and questioning why key details were ignored. From there, the hour pivots to local and federal power: a controversial Cheyenne ordinance that could allow warrant-based property entry for code enforcement, and whether such authority becomes a political weapon. The hour closes with a hard look at federal spending priorities—debating when Washington should step in, when it shouldn't, and why misuse of taxpayer dollars fuels public distrust. Are we losing honest journalism and accountable government at the same time?

The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk is still having an impact on current public discussions about the radical left and their intolerance of dialogue and ideas that challenge the prevailing leftist dogmas. The media wasted no time trying to dismiss leftwing political violence as a “both sides” problem, but we know better. The Heartland Institute's Eann Tang experienced how difficult it is to be a young conservative, especially on college campuses, but he is going to share why he holds on to hope and optimism for the future. We'll also take a look at some very Unhinged behavior, talk about the folly of “both sides-ism” in the wake of leftist violence, and there seems to be reason to hope that Big Tech censorship of conservatives is beginning to wane. Raw and unfiltered — this episode rips the veneer off a narrative that tried to reshape a killer into a hero. We walk through how social platforms and cable chatter raced to soften and sanitize a murder, the stream of posts celebrating the shooter on Blue Sky, and how that same rhetoric turns ordinary people into targets — from campus staff to members of Congress. You'll hear: the attempt to rebrand the shooter, the media double-take that followed, the chilling hit-lists and death threats aimed at public figures (including Nancy Mace and campus employees), and why this moment reveals a deeper problem: a growing “assassination culture” that dehumanizes opponents and makes violence an acceptable political tool. We also look at the small wins — like the Clemson fallout — and what vigilance looks like going forward.

Today's episode examines the escalating threats in American political and cultural life, pulling together multiple stories to reveal a worrying pattern of radicalization and media manipulation. From Luigi Mangione's legal saga and the Charlie Kirk shooting, to the Clemson leadership controversy and historical parallels with Marxist revolutions, this episode dissects how violence, intimidation, and ideological extremism are being normalized. Key topics include: The legal and social implications of politically motivated murder cases and light sentencing. How social media platforms amplify and celebrate political violence. Historical lessons from the Russian Cadet Party, the Weimar Republic, and global Marxist revolutions. Media framing and gaslighting, including subtle justifications for violent acts. Broader societal impacts, from free speech challenges in the UK to domestic labor and immigration debates. This episode ties together the threads of assassination culture, radical leftist strategy, and media spin, showing why understanding these dynamics is critical for anyone concerned about safety, governance, and the future of free discourse in America.

A high-octane episode that tracks how a violent act becomes a political script — from social feeds that lionize the shooter to real-world death lists and threats aimed at public figures. We unpack the case, the social-media reaction that tried to recast the murderer as a romantic hero, and the chilling effect on elected officials and campus employees now living under threats. Expect brisk, forensic breakdowns of how narratives are manufactured, why dehumanizing rhetoric escalates to violence, and what it means when newsrooms and networks race to reshape the story. This episode is for listeners who want straight, unsentimental analysis of political rage and the real people who become targets.

Tune in here to this Thursday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by talking about President Trump’s upcoming meeting with Vladimir Putin and the media’s reaction to it. He criticizes outlets like CNN and MSNBC for allegedly rooting against Trump, arguing that they don’t want to see him succeed on the world stage. Brett then pivots to a broader critique of the Democratic Party, suggesting that many on the left are working against American interests and would abandon the country if given the chance. He calls out rising crime in Washington, D.C., highlighting a quote from Senator Markwayne Mullin, who says he doesn’t wear a seatbelt in the city due to the high risk of carjackings. Brett also criticizes D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for vacationing in Cape Cod while the city faces violence. He argues that Democratic leaders, including Biden and Harris, have abandoned the working class they claim to support. Later, Brett turns his attention to the surge in urban violence, particularly youth violence, and asks a pressing question: what are we going to do about it? He lays out a grim picture of how societal, cultural, and policy failures have created a landscape where safety is no longer guaranteed, especially for vulnerable communities. Brett argues that deterrence has collapsed, accountability has diminished, and moral guidance is lacking. He cites disturbing statistics, such as a 14-fold increase in the lethality of youth violence since 1999, and highlights how neighborhoods have devolved into “zones of despair. First, Tara critiques the media's relentless heatwave hysteria, contrasting it with ignored record-setting cold snaps and polar ice gains. She challenges the climate change agenda's selective reporting and explains how solar cycles, not CO₂, drive weather extremes. Then, in a heartbreaking deep dive, Tara exposes the Biden administration's mishandling of over 300,000 missing migrant children—many of whom were trafficked into slavery and abuse. With revelations from whistleblowers, RFK Jr., and DHS, she lays bare a system that abandoned identification safeguards and enabled mass exploitation. Combined with escalating tensions in Iran and global instability, the message is clear: we are living through a crisis of truth, morality, and leadership.

Democrats in total grief over the loss of the cherished family. They're just innocent illegal immigrants. Okay. Yeah. They overstayed their abuses too, but we gotta keep them. I mean, one of them is, like, four. The rest are like teens and stuff. We have to wait to keep them. They're they're they're future Democrat voters. There's Sunni Muslims. They vote 92% Democrat. I mean, it's not fair. It's not fair. We can't do this anymore when a judge agrees what the the family gets to say. Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Is this a joke? And folks, Bunchy over at Red State absolutely nails this this morning. How Trump has come out with the travel ban? He's right. He says this isn't complicated. If judges are going to make it impossible to deport deport visa overstays from Islamist countries, then the only alternative is to stop issuing visas to those countries completely. That's exactly what Trump did yesterday. We're we're just done here. We don't have time for Democrat judicial dictators to say this terrorists can say and this terrorist can say, and you might be a terrorist. But let's think about what the Democrat party is proposing here. Okay? Come on. Is it really fair to pick on his family? I mean, some of them are women. I mean, yeah, they're here illegally, and, yeah, their first act was to break our laws. But, you know, you know, are they just because dad decided to take a flame thrower to some Jews does not mean they're bad people. You know what's interesting about this? The number one trending story this morning on that app we have, we pay a lot of money for us so we could see what the top stories in the country are. It was a story that was popular mainly with women, and it was why is Trump blocking people from other countries. God, women are just like they're like, shit. I swear so many women are like sheep to the slaughter. Why are we in this line? I don't know. What's that bolt gun for? I don't know, Roger. I'm sure it's nothing. We're like sleep sheep to the slaughter. Why would he do that? Why can't people from Yemen come here? Oh, you mean the country with the Houthis? The ones who've been who've revived piracy and are launching, you know, drone missiles at our ships, those people? The ones with the terror training camps that we just annihilated? Yeah. They seem really nice. I mean, they do fine here. Oh, we're weak. I want you to understand why we cannot allow the family of the Colorado terrorist to stay in our country. You want to see it for yourself, you can go on my x feed. This is him driving to the slaughter. He leaves a message for his family, giving us a nice insight. You know what might have been going on in his home? Did he just randomly one day decide to incinerate some Jews? Because what's going on in Gaza is really unfair. He saw they were children. He saw there was a grandmother. It turns out she's a holocaust survivor. No. No. No. He didn't. He made it clear to his family. The message was for his family. He hates America. He hates our military. Jihad is the only way. And Allah wants us to kill Jews. How many times did his kids hear that? He seems pretty committed. Here, I'll translate for you. Allah is greater than anything. Allah is greater than the Zionist. Allah is greater than America and its weapons. Allah is greater than f 35 planes. Allah is greater than everything else. So why do we fear those who are inferior to Allah rather than fear Allah himself? I told my wife and son every day to do this, to do something, but they didn't do it. I would be angry. Maybe I would divorce my wife. Maybe what I would kick my son out of my home. What's the next line, folks? Then what about Allah who says to us every day dozens of times, Allahu Akbar. Allah wants jihad. He's talking to his kids. Do not forget Allah Akbar. Do not forget that Allah is greater than everything, he says. Not Zionist America, Britain, France, or Germany. Only a law has the right to be feared, he says. Again ...
