He has recently been looking into a topic that's dear to our hearts - the role that Chrstianity played in the social evolution of human society for the last two thousand years. Morgan proposes that the Bible goes far beyond the creation of the believer vs nonbeliever - it actually establishes a metaphysical frame for everything that follows, wherein the foundational premise of the death and resurrection of the Crucifixion is intended to be literally *beyond belief.* We explore the social features that are required downstream of this central premise, and how the world we inhabit today is shaped by principles established in a wildly different age. Some team members fire off ideas like a creativity machine while others sit back, take it all in, and analyze before making a move. If you've ever worked with a Type 7 (The Enthusiast) or a Type 5 (The Strategist), you know there are some key differences to the way they approach work, including when it comes to generating new ideas and brainstorming. Type 7 might say: "Let's put all the ideas out there - no judging them yet!"Type 5 might say: "Let's think this through logically before jumping in."In this episode of Enneagram at Work, we're looking at: The strengths of Type 7s in the innovation process (visionary, energetic, adaptable)How Type 5s bring strategy, depth, and expertise to decision-makingWhere they each struggle (Too scattered? Too withdrawn?)How to find the balance between big-picture thinking and deep analysisThe best way to work with both styles in a team settingWhether you're a fast-moving innovator or a deep-thinking strategist, this episode will help you become aware of your own tendencies and help you navigate your co-worker relationships. Achievers, do you love the feeling of checking off your to-do list? In fact, you might even put things on your to-do list that you've already done to then check them off. You celebrate how you are maximizing every waking moment. Achievers are often the person who gets things done so you feel the constant itch to be productive all the time and at the beck and call of others. Yet, what keeps achievers awake at night is thinking of the really important things that they still haven't done that matter to them. Their next career move, the next big work idea, their families, developing their people and making the plan for what's next. So they tackle the next day with renewed vigor, thinking “if I just get through the to-do list, I'll have time to figure out how to have more time to do what matters and to make space for deep thinking and work.” If you want to figure out what's next, join Spiritual Achiever® Coaching Follow May Empson's Socials: LinkedIn | Instagram | Facebook Download the free Spiritual Achiever® Meditation Series
Senior English teacher and ECS English Department Chair Dr. Seth Holler joins host Brandon Artiles to share how the art of literature inspires thinking in our students. He also discusses how he weaves biblical truths through the texts they are studying and how God is revealed through creativity.
In today's anti-Christian culture, how can churches, ministries, and all of us communicate effectively with people who would rather not listen to what we have to say? What strategies can we employ to help people engage the biblical worldview? Our featured guest, Samuel Felix, is a long-time friend and Kingdomizer who works professionally as a digital artist and communication specialist. Samuel has a unique gift for helping people to reflect deeply and understand complex ideas. His goal is to turn passive consumers into active thinkers who take their assumptions and worldviews seriously. Navigating Complex Issues in Faith and Modern Life (feat. Chad Ragsdale and Daniel McCoy). This extensive discourse features a dialogue with Chad Ragsdale, discussing how various philosophies outside the church influence Christian thinking negatively, with a focus on emotional reasoning and the impact of technology on faith. Ragsdale expresses concerns over the church's adaptation to modern cultures, emphasizing the need for sober-mindedness against hollow and deceptive philosophies. The conversation also explores the conflict between following one's heart versus adhering to biblical truths, the challenges posed by a technologically driven culture, and the philosophical shift towards a therapeutic societal approach. Further, it delves into practical applications of faith in modern societal roles like the military and law enforcement, touching on navigating political landscapes as Christians. The dialogue also touches on dealing with disagreements within the church community, the importance of nuance in forming convictions, and balancing the dynamic between embracing cultural shifts and maintaining spiritual integrity. In this podcast episode, co-hosts Tom and Paco Cantero delve into the complexities of digital note taking in business. They distinguish between shallow and deep thinking and stress the importance of using various tools for different note-taking scenarios. Discussing the common confusion about the 'best' note-taking app, they advocate a tool agnostic approach where users select the best tool depending on their individual use case, business environment, and brain processes. For them at the Paperless Movement, the current apps which best support their productivity system include Reader, Tana and Heptabase, each catering to different stages of shallow to deep thinking. However, they emphasize that these tools may differ for others based on their distinct knowledge management needs.
