My guest on The Game Changers today is cricketing legend Charlotte Edwards who shares her extraordinary journey from making her England debut at just 16 to becoming one of the sport's most influential figures as a player and coach. Breaking countless records throughout her 20-year playing career, Charlotte was appointed England Captain in 2006 and led the team to win the Women's Cricket World Cup in 2009 along with three outright Ashes series.  Following her playing career, Charlotte was appointed Director of Women's Cricket at Hampshire in 2018 and has gone on to become a much respected and hugely successful coach for teams in the ECB's domestic league, The Hundred, WPL in India and WBBL in Australia. Awarded an MBE in 2009 and a CBE in 2014, in 2022 Charlotte was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. A very special show for you this week folks. Well, they are all special but this one particularly so. She didn't wear her medal but Jo Gardener has won The Hundred at Lord's with Oval Invincibles. This week she was back in Sunriser's colours at Chelmsford for the opening round of the Charlotte Edwards Cup. Yes, that's the same Charlotte Edwards Annie has dismissed. Delighted to have Jo joined Dan, Annie & Sam to talk us through the CEC and CC action.  Fair to say there were plenty more runs. Victories for Somerset and Durham, a lot of high-score draws and some, well, love for county cricket.

To start the new year, we have an amazing guest. The break out star of the Hundred, Alice Capsey! Alice is only 17 years old but what she has achieved this year is remarkable. A century on her Lords debut, key wicket taker and run scorer for Oval Invincibles, winning the Hundred, PCA young player of the year and leading her team to victory in the Charlotte Edwards Cup final. These achievements doesn't come easy, especially while still at school and trying to balance that. When we spoke to Alice, she had just been named in the England A side and today is flying out to Australia. Alice is a truly incredible cricketer and has a huge future ahead of her! We also chat a bit about the changes to the Ashes schedule and the selected India squad for the World Cup in March. Merry Christmas! It's Christmas Eve and so in the European Style, you can open your present from us. We have an incredible guest and I just don't know how we did it! Back in November, we spoke to the Queen of Women's Cricket, Charlotte Edwards. Lottie has so much to her name such as England's then youngest cricketer on her debut, breaking a world scoring record before her 18th birthday, captaining England from 2005, including winning an Ashes series, and world titles in both ODI and T20s. She has previously been ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year, Wisden Cricketer of the Year, and ECB Cricketer of the Year, even being appointed MBE and CBE! Now, she is Head Coach of Southern Vipers in 2020, and has lead them to the first two Rachael Heyhoe Flint Titles and coached Southern Brave to the final of the inaugural Hundred. The women's T20 domestic competition is even named the Charlotte Edwards Cup in her honour. We cannot thank Lottie enough and she was so generous with her time and thoughts.
