We start by looking back at the finals weekend in Cricket's Hundred. London Spirit won the Women's title, whilst Oval Invincibles became the first men's team to retain their crown after beating Southern Brave- who's Eliminator game on Saturday was the first to be decided by a "Super 5". With the US Tennis Open fast approaching, players geared up with the Cincinnati Open. Anya Sabalenka won the women's final for her first title since January, whilst Jannik Sinner became the youngest winner of the men's title since Andy Murray in 2008. We also have updates from Rugby League's "Magic Weekend", the final stage of the Women's Tour de France, and the Scottish Women's Golf Open. It may feel like only 5 minutes since the end of last season's Premier League, but we are back on the merry go round again as this season kicked off at the weekend. We are joined by football expert Billy Carr to run the rule over the possible winners and losers, as well as asking if anyone can challenge Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot. Billy also talks about the blog he has started for the international weekends, with the first instalment being an excellent summary at the end of Gareth Southgate's reign at the Euros. In this guest episode we chat with the legendary bowling coach Graeme 'Pop' Welch. Pop is a fantastic coach (we both agree). He has coached us at Essex, Warwickshire and Hampshire. Pops coaching style is based on an individuals needs so sessions can look very different from each others but they are underpinned by his philosophy of hard work and being a good teammate. He has strong values and is a philosophical guy! Pops coaching CV is very impressive and he has lead bowling units to trophies in every format of the game including, most recently, the hundred with the Southern Brave. This isn't by accident as he really emphasises a strong culture and creating a bowling unit wherever he goes! His advice is gold! We hope you enjoy the podcast as much as we enjoyed recording it. I for one will miss seeing them represent the County, so this month I decided to recognise their undeniable achievements and wish them both good luck for the future.

This season, we are going to be focusing on “The Hundred”. The Hundred is an action-packed, unmissable new 100 ball cricket competition that will put you on the edge of your seat. Everyone is welcome. It will feature world-class players and massive names from around the world. Eight brand new city-based women's and men's teams will compete over five weeks every summer (Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Super Northern Chargers, Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets and Welsh Fire. A men's squad and women's squad will be formed for each team, with the competitions running alongside each other. Each squad will be made up of 15 players with a maximum of three overseas stars. This is huge for the women's game and this is something we are really passionate about. Each week we will discuss all the games that happen, the best and worst moments! The format was invented to attract younger and more diverse crowds to watch cricket, with the expectation that the shorter format will mean each match lasts around two-and-a-half hours. The BBC will show free-to-air broadcasts of the competition, while all of the women's matches and some of the men's matches will be available to stream for free on Sky Sports' YouTube channel. The tournament will give equal weight to both men's and women's sides, with almost all the matches taking place as back-to-back double-headers at the same venue on the same day. One ticket will give access to both the men's and women's games, while men and women will share the same prize money.  Today, we are speaking to "Birmingham Pheonix" player Eve Jones and "Manchester Originals" player Georgie Boyce. We also are going to discuss the first match of the tournament: Oval Invincibles v Manchester Originals on the 21st July
