Welcome to Christ Community's Online Service! We all hate losing—especially to our rivals. But there's one enemy we all share that feels unbeatable: death. In this powerful Easter message, Pastor Alan explores the moment when God stepped in and did the impossible—defeating death through the resurrection of Jesus. Death is no longer undefeated. Jesus has won, and that victory changes everything. The question is: Do you know Him?Video that Alan mentions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzR6Jpt8UZs For prayer and to stay connected, please visit: https://www.cccgreeley.org For Giving: https://www.cccgreeley.org/give/ Discussion Guide: https://www.cccgreeley.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/2025-4-20-Group-Discussion-Questions.pdf Digital Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/cccgreeley/weekly-digital-newsletter-16046802 Christ Community Church – Greeley, CO

Welcome to Christ Community's Online Service! In Acts 5, the apostles face serious opposition for preaching about Jesus, yet they remain boldly obedient. Why? Because they knew they weren't alone. Jesus was with them. This message explores what gives us the courage to follow Jesus when it costs us something—reputation, relationships, even comfort. The answer is simple but powerful: Jesus is with you. Whether you're doing what's right, explaining your faith, or facing rejection for living like Jesus… He is with you. Should we expect the same now? In this message, we wrestle with the mystery of healing, explore the role of spiritual gifts, and consider how God might be working uniquely in our cultural moment—bringing emotional and spiritual healing in deep, transformative ways. Each week at Christ Community Church, we feature stories of what God's doing in the lives of the people who make up our church family - the story of how they came to faith in Jesus, the story of how God's currently growing them in grace, or even the story of how they are taking their faith outside and meeting needs in our community. This week, Tucker Keene, a lifelong member of Christ Community and a freshman at Collins High, shares his journey of overcoming a torn ACL that derailed his basketball season. Facing surgery, grueling rehab, and moments of self-doubt, Tucker turned to prayer and journaling, witnessing God's faithfulness every step of the way. His experience reshaped his identity beyond sports and inspired him to lead Bible studies with his peers, proving that even our hardest setbacks can become stepping stones to greater purpose and spiritual growth.

Welcome to Christ Community's Online Service! Some moments change everything. A few simple words can shift the entire trajectory of your life—You're hired. You're cured. We're pregnant. In Acts 2, thousands experienced a catalytic moment when Peter spoke just a few words: "This Jesus of Nazareth…" In an instant, they saw the truth—they had been waiting for the Messiah, and He had come. But they had crucified Him. Yet, this was not a moment of condemnation, but of rescue. Jesus, the firstfruits of new life, had conquered death and poured out the Holy Spirit, offering freedom and hope. The same truth that changed lives on that day continues to change lives today. "We want a name. What do we want to build something? We want a name. What do we want to build? Whose name do we want? To be receiving glory. So I need these maturation processes in me to get me ready. So we needed, I think, to fall Right, you will be, to realize the eternal purposes. We needed a maturation process, and that maturation process seems to be sin and death, to enter a fallen place and every myth and every secret story has this. You need to fall into Sheol, you need to go down into the depths, and then you'll be able to fulfill your mission and participate in eternity."The writer of the letter to the Ephesians draws his readers into a sacred calling. It is an invitation into a divine temple building project called, "the body of Christ." It is one way to describe the deep secret, the spiritual purpose behind "Christ-Community" and sparks a lengthy and rich conversation between Jonah and Patrick that covers much of the entire territory of sacred scripture and divine anthropology. The first attempt by humanity to build a temple to heaven in a united project was the Tower of Babel. Why did God thwart this effort? What does it mean that humanity was seeking "a name" for itself in this project? And what all does this have to do with us now? These questions, and much more, are taken up in this episode.PLEASE NOTE: The audio in this episode is extremely eratic; the microphone on Patrick was accidentally set too high and our audio engineers were on Christmas vacation - we apologize sincerely for the unpleasantness this all may cause in the listening!Support the showMany thanks to Camilla Lake for show notes and Podcast/Patreon production and communications. Romans 8:28-30 // Ben BeasleyWe've been in this series Romans: For Life, where we've learned from the Apostle Paul, Rabbi Paul, that we aren't just saved from eternal evil but we are saved for something else: we are saved for eternal glory and for God's good Spirit-filled work in our lives. Paul's confidence is rooted in who he understands God to be. Paul is rooting his confidence not just in the happening of this, but in the God who is in sovereign control of all the happenings of the universe. When we embrace faith in Jesus we are God's children. And we are co-heirs with Christ. Meaning we have the same inheritance as Jesus.SERMON NOTES (YouVersion): https://bible.com/events/49257653PRAYER REQUESTS: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2509/responses/new24. 05.19

Romans 8:26-27 // Nathan MillerWhen was the last time you were left speechless by grief, disappointment, loneliness, frustration?Maybe you paced aimlessly: I just don't know what to say. Maybe you struggled to know how to express your feelings, or maybe you even struggled to know what exactly it was you were feeling! Maybe you didn't know what to pray, or how to pray, or even feel like you could pray. What are we supposed to do when we no longer have words?Paul's answer might surprise you. Because it's less about what we do and more about what God does. What God is already  doing. And somehow it will all have been worth it. Do you believe that? Now God doesn't say our sufferings don't matter, that our sufferings aren't real, that we're just a bunch of wimps and should get over it. No. It's not that our sufferings are so insignificant. It's that the glory that is coming is just so great. So immense. That it's not even worth comparing.God sees you. Romans 8:18-25 // Brent NelsenGod's kingdom isn't fully here on earth yet. The picture of Isaiah 11, of a restored creation, is not yet a full reality. But we've been given a taste, and it makes us crave more.  When I look around I see violence and discord and hatred. I see creation in subjection and decay. But I know what's coming, and I know because I've had a foretaste. I see God at work renewing the broken pieces in my life. I see him at work restoring relationships around me. I see it in my community group when we experience the joy of gathering together as God's people. I see it in miraculous answers to prayer requests. And I see it in creation. Every spring, the trees bud, and flowers push through the frozen ground. Everything begins to turn green, and the earth comes back to life. Springtime for me is a yearly visual reminder that God brings life from death. That's the hope that we have as followers of Jesus.SERMON NOTES (YouVersion): https://bible.com/events/49243655PRAYER REQUESTS: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2509/responses/new24. 05.05

But I struggle to remember and believe that myself. My assumption is that there are at least three types of people in this room. Those that do not find this as great news because we don't think we are actually bad enough to deserve condemnation in the first placeThose that believe this is good news but we forget about it and live as if it does not matterAnd those that do not find this to be good news because we don't believe it could be true.
