How to Approach God in Worship | God's Holiness and Our Hastiness Pastor Jon Lash
The Power of Prayer! "Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:16 "Prayer is the key that unlocks all doors." Because it serves as our direct connection to the boundless grace and mercy of God. Through every heartfelt whisper and earnest cry, we find that our thoughts and desires resonate within the divine, opening the door to blessings we may never have imagined. The act of praying invites us into an intimate relationship with our Creator, allowing us to align our hearts with His infinite love. Consider the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1. With unwavering faith, she poured out her soul before the Lord, yearning for a child. In her earnestness and vulnerability, she experienced God's grace in a deeply personal way, ultimately fulfilling her desire and becoming a testament to His goodness. Hannah's journey shows us that prayer is not about receiving what we seek but rather about deepening our connection with God. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Remember, "Each prayer expressed with thanksgiving is a step toward inner calm, where our hearts find rest in hope rather than fear." That's why Philippians 4:6-7 invites us to present our requests with gratitude. Because when we bring our cares before Him with thankfulness, peace comes to guard our hearts. This peace transcends understanding, enveloping us in comfort even when life feels overwhelming. The beauty of prayer is that it not only clarifies our requests but also opens our spirits to the divine wisdom God imparts. Brethren, remember "Faith is the hand that turns the key; prayer is the door that swings open to meet it." So, ask with a trust that outlasts the silence, and watch the unseen get to work. Approach God boldly, trusting that your desires align with His will. You are invited not to hold back your hopes but to present them with confidence, knowing that God cherishes every prayer you offer. Amen. Matthew 21:22 says, "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Amen. Prayer for the Day! Dear Lord, we thank You for the gift of prayer and the grace You freely offer us. Teach us to pray with unwavering faith, and help us to fully embrace the blessings that come from our relationship with You. May we seek Your presence, find peace in Your promises, and shower gratitude upon every door You open. In Jesus name. Amen. https://maglife.org

How do we hold together confidence before God and a proper sense of his holiness? Derek Rishmawy, Alastair Roberts, and Joe Minich take up a pastoral question at the heart of Christian worship and prayer. Working from the Lord's Prayer, the Psalms, Job, and John 8, they discuss the dangers of both presumption and paralyzing anxiety, the relationship between knowledge of God and knowledge of self, and why assurance is less a fact we verify than a relation we inhabit. Title: How to Hold God to His CharacterScripture Reading: Exodus 32:7-14Series: Be Bold! What if the secret to being bold is not demanding what we want, but reminding God of who He has already promised to be? In this message, we examine the high-stakes negotiation between Moses and God following Israel's immediate fall into idolatry with the golden calf. Moses demonstrates how to live out the Greatest Commandment by interceding for a rebellious people, choosing to hold God to His History as the one who rescued them from Egypt. He further appeals to God's Honor, arguing that God's reputation among the nations is tied to the survival of His people. Finally, Moses holds God to His Heritage by pointing back to the unbreakable covenant made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We see that just as Moses advocated for Israel, we are called to a life where we are saved from sin and saved to a life of worship, ultimately finding our hope in Jesus, the ultimate intercessor who stood in our place. Approach God with boldness by anchoring your prayers in His unchanging character, His historical faithfulness, and His covenant promises.

7 takeaways from this study Receive God's clean clothes, don't keep the filthy ones. Stop clinging to old guilt and shame. When you confess and turn to Him, believe He has really taken away your iniquity and given you a fresh start. Let God cleanse your conscience, not just your behavior. Don't settle for “trying harder.” Ask God to cleanse your conscience from dead works so you serve Him out of love and gratitude, not fear or duty. Identify and leave “dead works” behind. Honestly name the patterns, habits, or attitudes that pull you away from God. Begin replacing them with choices that reflect trust, obedience, and life. Approach God with humble confidence. In prayer and worship, come as someone washed and welcomed. Not arrogant, but not groveling either. Messiah opened the way to the presence of God, so come near. Live as someone “crossing the sea” daily. See each day as another step from slavery to freedom. When tempted to go back to old ways, remind yourself: “I'm crossing from death to life. I don't live there anymore.” Guard your “robes” with hopeful living. Make choices that fit someone clothed in white: forgiveness instead of bitterness, truth instead of compromise, hope instead of despair. Your life should match your new garments. Keep your eyes on the restored Eden. Let the picture of the Tree of Life and living with God forever shape your decisions now. When life feels like exile, remember where the story is headed — and let that give you courage and joy. Zechariah 3 offers a striking image. A man stands before the angel wearing filthy garments. The angel commands, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” Then the man receives festal robes and a clean turban. This imagery communicates Heaven’s promise a new beginning after major screw-ups. The people in Zechariah's day faced exile from the Holy Land. The prophet's word responded to shame and displacement. God promises removal of iniquity and a fresh identity. Read Zechariah's words aloud and let them settle: “Now he was clothed with filthy garments and was standing before the angel. Then he spoke and said to those who were standing before him, ‘Remove the filthy garments from him.' Again he said to him, ‘Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with festal robes.'” Zechariah 3:3–5 NASB 1995 Those lines show how God acts to restore dignity and status. The “dirty” and “white” garments represent people’s positions before God. The high priest's purity points to the Messiah's unique role. ישוע Yeshua (Jesus in Hebrew) removes our disqualifying stains of guilt and shame. He does so not by human effort. He does so by His sacrificial action and Heaven’s acceptance. Exile, scattering, promise For Zechariah’s audience, the northern tribes had been scattered as Assyria invaded. Some merged with southern populations. Others faced deportation. Later, Babylon carried the southern tribes (led by Judah) into captivity. These national traumas created identities marked by shame and displacement. Zechariah's vision speaks to that condition. It promises reversal. It announces that God removes the stain of multigenerational rebellion. But God does not leave exile as the final statement. Instead, God restores people's status. The washing and new garments point to divine initiative. Human repentance and return play their part. Yet the transcript insists the decisive action comes from heaven. Sullied high priest vs. incorruptible High Priest Hebrews 9 clarifies the difference between the pattern of cleansing in Israel’s Tabernacle/Temple and the full and complete conscience cleansing from the Messiah's work. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ (Χριστός Christos) who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Hebrews 9:13–14 NASB 1995 Animal sacrifices pictured that the innocent would take the place of and carry the believer into the presence of the Creator of heaven and earth. That pictured the ultimate innocent one, Messiah's sacrifice, fully bringing relief to our conscience (Heaven’s gift to humanity of a starting point for discerning what’s good and bad). It cleans the inner direction of life. Cleansing our lives from “dead works,” actions and patterns that lead away from God (sin, transgression, iniquity), and filling us with the Spirit Who brings the words of Heaven to life. That enables our true service. It frees people to serve the living God, not merely to follow ritual. Baptism in the sea The seventh day of Passover (aka Matzot, Festival of Unleavened Bread) is traditioinaly and biblically linked to Israel's crossing of the sea during the Exodus. In 1Corinthians 10:1–13, Apostle Paul uses baptismal language (“all Israel was baptized under the cloud and in the sea,” 1Cor 10:2) to teach the congregation in that cosmopolitan Greek city that Israel’s history in Scripture is both a pattern for God’s salvation and also a warning against behavior that’s toxic to belief. The sea crossing marks movement from death to life. It represents a corporate and personal passage from slavery to freedom. We do not simply study an event at a distance. We relive the passage. The community experiences washing and a new status. This resonates with Zechariah's prophecy of the cleansing of Israel’s priesthood after sullying themselves with the practices of the nation. Both images show God effecting outward and inward renewal. Revelation's vision: Washed robes and the Tree of Life The imagery of new clothes communicates Heaven’s change of the appearance of our past (“old clothes”) by removing Heaven’s record of it, putting all that guilt and shame on the Messiah. That symbology forms an arc in the book of Revelation. “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Revelation 7:14 NASB95 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter by the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14 NASB95 Washing with blood, from a human perspective, sounds bizarre. From a biblical perspective, life poured out (Gen 9:4; Lev 17:11, 14; Deut 12:23; 19:6) can purge moral and spiritual stains. That points toward the blood of the Lamb as the ultimate instrument through which robes are whitened. The Tree of Life returns in Revelation as the symbol of restored access to God's life, a restoration of גן עדן Gan Eden (Garden of Eden), where the Creator walked directly with His creation (Gen 3:8; 18:33; Lev 26:12; Deut 23:14). “I never knew you.” These are the most sobering words Jesus ever spoke. Many people assume they are approaching God, but are they following the right protocol? In this message, Pastor Jerry Dirmann uses a fascinating "Spacesuit Analogy" to reveal why sincerity isn't enough to enter the presence of a Holy God.If you've ever wondered why your prayers feel unheard or if you're truly "saved," this deep dive into Matthew 7 and Leviticus will change your perspective on grace and obedience forever.
In this continuation of The Protocol of HIS Worship, Rev. Roland Anang teaches a timely message on how approaching God requires understanding the manner, attitude, and reverence of His Kingdom. Just as earthly kingdoms operate with protocols, the Kingdom of God also has divine principles governing how believers worship, serve, and respond to His presence. This message challenges believers to move beyond casual or passive worship and to engage God with their whole being—spirit, soul, and body. True worship flows from a heart aligned with God, expressed outwardly through reverence, thanksgiving, obedience, and the fear of the Lord. This sermon emphasizes that worship is not merely singing songs; it is a lifestyle of honour, sacrifice, and total devotion to God.

Crystal Rivers | Open Book | Feb 17, 2026 Live with the awareness that true fulfillment does not come from endless effort or self-reliance but from aligning your entire being with divine truth. When you allow truth to enter deeply—beyond intellect into the heart—it produces light, clarity, freedom, and inner rest, replacing anxiety, confusion, and striving with confidence and peace. You are meant to approach life as one who has already been invited into abundance, not merely material abundance but spiritual richness: wisdom, direction, healing, restoration, identity, and purpose. This requires a shift in mindset—moving from survival to participation, from fear to trust, and from passivity to active engagement with what has already been prepared for you. Learn to meditate on truth intentionally, turning it over in your mind until it shapes your imagination, because what you consistently see inwardly determines what you ultimately build outwardly. Your vision matters; what you behold, you begin to become. Reject the habit of defining yourself by past experiences, family patterns, or limitations that have repeated through generations. You are called to walk as someone renewed, not chained to old cycles. Move forward even when circumstances seem impossible or when opposition appears strong, knowing that progress often requires faith before visible evidence appears. Growth demands courage—the courage to step away from familiar fears, to release old narratives, and to trust that new pathways will open as you move. Speak life intentionally over your journey, because words are not empty; they shape atmosphere, strengthen conviction, and reinforce identity. Replace language of defeat with declarations of truth, and train yourself to agree with what builds rather than what diminishes. Develop discipline in your inner life. Make space for quiet reflection, focused prayer, and deliberate attention to spiritual nourishment. Guard your focus, because distraction is one of the greatest enemies of transformation. Not every voice deserves your attention; choose influences that strengthen faith, clarity, and purpose. Surround yourself with people who remind you of truth when your own strength is low, understanding that transformation grows stronger in community. Accountability, unity, and mutual encouragement help sustain momentum when enthusiasm fades. Learn to both receive and give support, so that what you gain inwardly flows outwardly to strengthen others. Approach God not with distance or fear but with trust and closeness, as one welcomed and loved. Seek intimacy more than outcomes, because genuine relationship produces lasting change. From that place, creativity awakens, ideas emerge, and direction becomes clearer. Expect renewal to touch every part of life—mind, emotions, relationships, calling, and daily choices. Let humility and obedience shape your progress, understanding that true authority comes from surrender, not control. As you grow, allow joy to become your strength and gratitude to anchor your perspective, remembering that renewal is not a one-time event but a continual process. Choose to live intentionally as someone clothed in purpose and prepared for action. Stand firm against fear, comparison, and discouragement, and remember that you are not called simply to endure life but to participate in its transformation. Walk as a builder—restoring what has been broken, speaking hope where there has been despair, and carrying light into places overshadowed by uncertainty. Receive each day as new mercy, each challenge as an opportunity to deepen trust, and each victory as evidence of growth. Ultimately, live from a place of fellowship, strength, and expectancy, allowing what you receive inwardly to overflow into the lives of others so that your journey becomes not only a path of personal renewal but a source of life, courage, and awakening for those around you. Alistair Begg explores God's willingness to answer prayer and provide abundantly through Matthew 7:7-11 and Ephesians 3:14-21. Drawing from the promise that asking yields giving and seeking yields finding, Begg emphasizes that God's generosity far exceeds even good earthly parents' gifts to their children. God's extravagant generosity flows from His nature as a perfect Father who delights to give to His children far beyond their requests or expectations. The invitation to ask, seek, and knock is not a suggestion but an encouragement rooted in God's character and abundance. Approach God confidently in prayer, asking boldly for His provision and presence, trusting His generosity exceeds your greatest hopes. A closed throne room is the world we expect; Hebrews reveals a throne of grace that welcomes us with confidence. We open the door on what bold access really means, why the torn veil changes prayer from a cautious ritual into an honest conversation, and how Jesus' ongoing advocacy turns our weakest moments into encounters with mercy. We start by reframing the roles of priest and prophet, clearing up a common modern confusion: a priest represents the people to God. From there, we trace the high priest's humanity and weakness under the old covenant and contrast it with Jesus' sinless solidarity. He knows our condition from within, yet without guilt, which is why he deals gently and intercedes powerfully. We also unpack why no one takes the honor of priesthood for themselves and how Christ, like Aaron in calling but unlike him in order, was appointed by the Father. The takeaway is deeply practical: when the need is urgent and the heart is heavy, the way is open. No gatekeepers, no queue, no fragile mood to navigate. You approach a sovereign who loves to give grace and mercy in real time. That changes how we pray, how we endure suffering, and how we resist the pull toward lesser mediators. If Jesus is both king and priest forever, then the verdict over your approach is settled: come boldly. If this helped you see prayer and access in a new light, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review to help others find it. Pastor Daniel teaches that as we approach God's Word, we pray that He will help us understand, love, and keep it.
Keep God positioned first in our lives, then expect to see Him working through all circumstances and events for our good! Keep seeking to grow more in wisdom and in the knowledge of God. Finally, when seeking God and what concerns Him, approach God boldly and fearlessly!

Jesus' words are our words: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me.. to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." It is with confidence, we can seek God for wisdom, for confidence and for an anointing. After all, "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." God's miracles are all around us—sometimes they're the big, awe-inspiring moments we can clearly see, but often they're the quiet, everyday blessings that go unnoticed. From the healing of bodies to the restoration of relationships, God's hand is at work in ways we can't always measure or even understand. These uncountable miracles remind us of His constant presence, His grace, and His love for us. Whether it's the miracle of a answered prayer, a changed heart, or the gift of another day, His miracles are countless and His faithfulness is beyond our ability to number. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” – Job 5:8-9, NIV. This verse highlights God's unlimited power. Our God is a God of miracles! When I see countless Christmas lights shining brightly on a dark night, I like to think about the fact that God is constantly up to something wonderful – much more often than I can count. God's light is always overcoming the darkness in our world. We just have to pay attention to notice it. God operates in ways that are far beyond our limited human understanding. God's wonders are too great to fully grasp, and this is precisely what makes them miraculous. When we encounter situations in our lives that seem impossible, we must remember that nothing is too difficult for God to do. This verse also speaks of God performing so many miracles that they can't be counted. God's miraculous power is not confined to a few select moments in history. Instead, God is constantly doing miraculous work in such abundance that we can't even understand or count it all. From answering prayers to working through creation, God is performing miracles all the time – even if we don't always recognize it. When you think about it, how many times have you been protected, provided for, or blessed without even realizing that it was God at work? The breath in your lungs, the beating of your heart, and the peace that sustains you through difficult times are all evidence of God's wonderful work in your life. God is always ready and willing to do something wonderful for you, if you ask him to do so. God invites you to come to him with your needs and dreams. He wants you to pour out your thoughts and feelings honestly, and to seek his help. God is approachable, compassionate, and eager to intervene in your life. So, you don't need to hesitate to ask God to perform a miracle when you need one. God's miracles are often linked to faith. While God is not limited by your faith, God loves to know that you trust him and his power to help you. When you come to God with faith, believing that he is really able to help you, you open doors for God to do miracles in your life. One of the challenges you face is waiting for God's miracles, especially when you're going through difficult challenges. But just because you don't see a miracle immediately doesn't mean that God is not at work. Sometimes, God's timing is different from yours because he sees the bigger picture. God's delays are not denials. Instead, they're divine setups for something greater than you can imagine. Not all miracles are dramatic or spectacular. Some miracles are as simple as a timely word of encouragement, an unexpected provision, or a broken relationship healing. It's important to learn to recognize and appreciate these everyday miracles because they're just as significant as extraordinary miracles. God is constantly working behind the scenes, orchestrating events for your good. So, live with the expectation that God is always ready to do something wonderful in your life. His wonders are beyond what you can understand, and his miracles are beyond counting. Approach God with faith, lay your causes before him, and wait expectantly for God to answer you. No matter what you're facing today – a financial burden, a health crisis, a broken relationship, or a season of uncertainty – know that God is able to perform miracles beyond what you can imagine. He is not only capable, but also willing to intervene on your behalf! Intersecting Faith and Life As you consider how God can do something wonderful and miraculous in your life, reflect on these questions: When was the last time you witnessed or experienced a miracle, big or small? How did it affect your faith? In what areas of your life do you need to appeal to God and lay your causes before him? What is holding you back? How can you start expecting God to work wonders in your life? Are there any “small” miracles in your life that you may have overlooked or taken for granted? How can you develop a greater sense of gratitude for God's daily blessings? How can you encourage someone else who is struggling to see God's miracles in his or her life? What testimony can you share to inspire faith?
