We begin with something I had no clue about and we're curious if you knew.   Last night was the biggest night of the year for birds migrating over Kansas and Missouri and the number will shock you!    A trip to the waiting parking lot to pick up my wife yesterday at KCI left me feeling uneasy about our airport.      That lottery winner that got arrested in Florida gets another plot twist as he violated his parole... and... wait for it: His girlfriend got into a fight too.  This just gets stranger.    Trump's scoring one win after another and announces he's building a fancy ballroom at the White House.  Don't worry... he's paying for it.  I think I know why.    The Royals toss their 5th shutout in the last 10 games... pretty hard to lose when the other guys don't score.  They also did something really nice before the game.    Bill Self has an opportunity to change a few things this year with one hire and a pitcher at Kauffman Stadium last night has an amazing story to find his way to the mound.

Just 5 years ago, Oklahoma State University and the Cherokee Nation launched a first-of-its-kind medical school.  The College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Cherokee Nation is the first and only medical college to be founded on tribal land and linked to a native tribe. The school made history when its first graduating class of doctors received their degrees in May 2024.  Drs. Natasha Bray and Douglas Nolan are the Dean and Associate Dean of the school. They join us from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where they are helping a new generation of doctors learn to provide critical care — especially in rural and tribal areas, which are facing a dire shortage of doctors.  During the show you'll also hear from Megan Tramel. She's a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and a student at the College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tahlequah. This month, in May 2025, she'll receive her degree and start the next phase of her journey as a doctor.  We invite you to share your feedback about this show with us on social media. And this created the reality where the people that are, the organizations that are currently adopting agile are the late adopters.""[Late adopters] are slapping names like Scrum Master and Sprint and User Story and Daily Scrum... on the way that they've been doing things already. And it's like lipstick on a pig. It's not really creating any impact other than a bad name for Agile and a bad name for people in these roles.""The biggest issue with Agile... is the over-reliance on specific roles in organizations.""We will have a significantly smaller number of people that dedicate their career to something like agile, whatever it's called. You will need to specialize. You will need to start to think like consultants need to start to think and build your content solar system."Yuval's Links and Other ResourcesYuval's article on "The Future of Agile Roles and Agility"Yuval's private podcast on navigating the landscape of Agile theater, feature factories, and product operating models"Crossing the Chasm" by Geoffrey Moore (book on technology adoption)Netflix culture book (featuring the "Netflix question")The career mini-course that Jonathan mentioned: Unblock Your Career by Shachar Meir ----Do you have questions about how to improve your business? It's one of my three-day events that I'm running, and as I always do, I have everyone gather in a circle one at a time, I have everyone say their name and say one fun fact that would not be on their bio, so we go around, and person after person is introducing themselves, and we get to the last person who says, “Hi. I'm Sandy Zabarsky, and I just got out of prison.” The whole room goes silent and you can honestly hear a pin drop. Everyone's eyes are just on her, and for a split second, you can almost feel their assumptions kicking in. Like, what does she mean? Is she really just out of prison? Did I even hear that right? Then, she continues and says, “I've been an educator for most of my career. I work in the juvenile justice system, and I recently retired, so yes, I have just gotten out of prison, so to speak, and I spent my entire career there.” In that moment, the meaning of her words completely changed. The whole room, the feeling of the room, changes because what she says, it makes her work relevant and completely has a plot twist in the middle of this exercise because what mattered to her more than anything else is that it wasn't only about working in prison, but for her, it was helping the kids get their GEDs. That was really important because she knew that a piece of paper could mean the difference between them having a completely different life story and repeating the same pattern. Sandy Zabarsky, also known as my mom, helped me in many, many, many events throughout my career, helping us really look at storytelling in a different way. She helped me realize that storytelling isn't just about entertainment or something to read as a book here or a movie there. Instead, storytelling is about how we shape reality, and that's exactly what my guest today does. Professor Dr. Ger Graus OBE is a globally recognized education leader, known for his innovative approach to children's learning. Having held key roles at KidZania and the Children's University, he serves as a professor and advisor to various global education organizations, and has received numerous accolades, and he understands today's aspect of storytelling better than most people. You'll get answers to questions like: Why is storytelling so important in education? How does it impact learning? What are some hidden narratives in education that actually shape decisions and opportunities? How could storytelling be integrated into school curriculums? What benefits would it offer students? What common misconceptions exist about new technology in education? How can we change our mindset to embrace change instead of resisting it? What you will learn (about) in this episode: The power of perspective in storytelling and how a dramatic introduction can immediately shift perceptions How stories make learning more meaningful than rote memorization The value of personal narratives and how everyone, younger and older, has valuable stories to share How many people believe their stories aren't "big" enough but that storytelling is about connection and expression Finding humor and humanity in stories and how storytelling helps us process emotions and connect with others Who is Ger? Professor Dr. Ger Graus OBE is a globally recognized leader in education, known for his unique and innovative approach to children's learning. He was the first Global Director of Education at KidZania and the founding C.E.O. of the Children's University, advocating for equity, creativity, and progress in education. "We've moved from big bundles to à la carte chaos—there's a middle ground that offers real value and differentiation," says Chad Dunavant, EVP & Chief Strategy and Product Officer at CSG. Subscription-based services have reshaped the way businesses generate revenue and how consumers engage with brands. But has the explosion of subscriptions created more frustration than convenience? Chad joins Technology Reseller News to discuss the next evolution of subscriptions, telecom monetization, and customer engagement. The Subscription Economy: A Double-Edged Sword Subscription models provide businesses with predictable, recurring revenue streams, allowing them to scale efficiently. Consumers originally embraced subscriptions for their flexibility and ease of use. However, as Dunavant points out, many customers now find themselves drowning in multiple subscriptions, leading to frustration, bill confusion, and declining brand loyalty. From Bundles to Fragmentation – The shift from cable TV mega-bundles to fragmented streaming services has created consumer fatigue. Confusion & Lack of Transparency – Many customers are unaware of price increases or struggle to manage multiple services. Loyalty at Risk – Brands must balance monetization with clear value propositions or risk losing long-term customers. Telecoms & The New Opportunity in Subscription Monetization As telecom providers move beyond connectivity, they are uniquely positioned to bundle value-added services like streaming, cloud solutions, and enterprise tools. Dunavant highlights how telcos can use their scale to negotiate wholesale partnerships with digital service providers, creating discounted, frictionless experiences for consumers. Power of Wholesale Agreements – Telecom providers can secure better pricing for consumers by bundling third-party services with connectivity. Monetization Beyond Connectivity – New revenue streams include integrated streaming, cloud apps, and AI-driven services. Personalized Engagement & Billing – AI-powered billing solutions can proactively notify customers of changes, reducing call center frustration. Hi friends, welcome back to the podcast! I'm thrilled to share this deeply insightful conversation I had with Stacey Uhrig, a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach who has a gift for breaking down the complexities of developmental trauma into something we can all understand and work with.In this episode, Stacey and I explore how our childhood patterns and core beliefs influence our lives—and how we can heal and transform them to find greater peace, joy, and connection. Stacey's approach draws heavily from Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic model developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz that looks at the different “parts” within us and how they work together—or sometimes in conflict—to shape our inner world. Here's what we cover:What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)? Stacey explains how our inner parts develop as a response to survival needs, creating a fascinating internal system that's here to protect us, even if it sometimes causes us stress or pain.Understanding Our Inner Parts: Stacey describes how these internal “managers,” “firefighters,” and “exiles” influence our behaviors, relationships, and decision-making.From Trauma to Wholeness: We dive into how IFS helps us connect with our authentic self, clearing emotional layers and finding self-leadership.Tools and Resources: Stacey shares her favorite books like No Bad Parts by Dr. Richard Schwartz and encourages exploring IFS-trained therapists or coaches for deeper work. This conversation was so healing and enlightening for me, and I hope it resonates deeply with you too. Wealth Planning for the Modern Physician

Listen in or watch as host David Mandell sits down with medical marketing consultant Kristy LaGourgue and aesthetic nurse Rachel Varga to discuss branding and marketing lessons that all doctors can benefit from, whether they own their own practice or not. David begins the discussion by asking Kristy and Rachel the most common mistakes medical practices make with marketing and how to avoid them.  They then chat about the importance of marketing when offering new services or equipment or even bringing on new doctors. The discussion then turns to branding – how an individual doctor can brand him/herself in the marketplace- which not only can be patient-focused, but also to other doctors, who are key referral sources –and even industry for further business opportunities. Finally, Kristy and Rachel speak to the use of social media and how doctors should approach getting started in marketing efforts. KEY TAKEAWAYS Takeaway #1: Having a Clear Marketing Strategy is More Effective Than Piecemeal Efforts. Piecing together different marketing tactics without a clear strategy can lead to poor results. Kristy points out that one common mistake practitioners make is trying “a little bit of this, a little bit of that, hoping something's going to stick.” Instead, she suggests that it's crucial to understand how different marketing activities work together to drive steady patient flow. Rachel supports this point, noting that practitioners often give up too soon or get in their own way due to imposter syndrome or feeling out of their comfort zone. She encourages practitioners to stick with their marketing efforts and to recognize the long-term benefits. “It's really getting also that validation and accolade from your colleagues in the space too, to then position you even further, which might open up the gates for different opportunities on boards and business development deals as well”. In essence, being strategic and consistent about marketing activities, rather than trying different tactics in a piecemeal manner, can lead to better results and open up new opportunities for practitioners. Takeaway #2: Diversifying Practice Offerings Can Lead to New Opportunities. With the rapidly evolving field of medical technology and treatments, diversifying practice offerings can open up new opportunities for physicians. For instance, adding new technologies or treatments to a practice can attract different types of patients, or even create new revenue streams. Rachel explains how one of her colleagues transformed his practice by incorporating group coaching and video training, thus creating a seven-figure business. She says, “So you just don't know what's possible until you start to go down this path.” She also mentions the increasing popularity of concierge medicine and biohacking, suggesting that practices that incorporate these elements are very appealing to buyers. Diversifying practice offerings can, therefore, not only bring in new patients and revenue streams but also increase the practice's value in case of a potential buyout. This diversification, coupled with a strong online presence and marketing strategy, can significantly enhance a practice's success and growth.
