January 2025 The 27th of January 2025 is the eightieth anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau - an event marked annually by Holocaust Memorial Day. In order to perpetrate the mass killings and other crimes of the Holocaust, the Nazi regime needed to coordinate and communicate about its activities. This included wireless communications which were intercepted and decoded at Bletchley Park. In this episode we take a look at what the Government Code and Cypher School (Bletchley Park) knew about these Nazi crimes, how and when this information was obtained, and how western governments responded to the news. Bletchley Park's Research Historian Dr David Kenyon is joined by journalist, author and Holocaust historian Christian Jennings to discuss his work on the role of codebreaking in these terrible events. Send us a textWhen the Einsatzgruppen began reporting that they were murdering Jews, the British code-breakers at Bletchley Park intercepted and decoded the messages. Throughout the Holocaust, these men and women deciphered the reports of the SS and documented the crimes of the Nazi state. On this episode, I talk with journalist and researcher Christian Jennings about the Holocaust Code and what we can learn about the Holocaust from decoded Nazi transmissions. Christian Jennings is a British author and foreign correspondent, and the author of ten non-fiction books of modern history and current affairs. THis latest book is The Holocaust Codes: Decrypting the Final Solution. He has lectured for Bletchley Park on German codebreaking, and from 1994-2012 he spent fifteen years reporting for newspapers and TV on international current affairs and complex war crimes investigations, including genocide and its aftermath, across twenty-three countries in the Western Balkans and Africa. Branding is a very important part of doing business, but it is yet to be taken seriously by the world's MBA programs. Behind each successful brand is a good story, but before you get to tell it, you first need to think about who you are, what you do, why you do it, who you do it for and why people should care. Unless you're clear about what your values are and to whom those values should resonate, you're essentially throwing pasta to the wall and hoping it hits someone. Joining Ben Baker in this conversation are Bill Harper and Christian Jennings of wmHarper. There is a Nike lurking behind each emerging brand. The only way to unleash it is to overcome your fear, work with somebody who knows what they're doing and build your brand systematically from the foundation up.

Maybe shut up and listen is a better title. The odd emotional nature of human beings gets in the way often. One is with the word "no". Defense mode turns on, listening ears turn off. Hosts Bill Harper, Roger Fish and Christian Jennings explore this oddity and the ways they've overcome "no".

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Court records show a teacher's assistant who was arrested after pushing down a student was also arrested earlier this year after police say she fired a gun at a group of teenagers. Channel 2 Action News first reported on Carlas Smith, a teaching assistant at McNair Discovery Learning Academy, earlier this week. Smith, 47, is accused of using her hands to push a 10-year-old boy to the floor at school on Dec. 7. Smith was arrested Thursday on simple battery charges. Channel 2's Christian Jennings dug into Smith's background and found that she was also arrested for an incident with minors in April. Jennings tracked down Smith's arrest report at the DeKalb County Courthouse.
