Our final great political fiction (for now!) is a meta-fiction and auto-fiction that is also a compelling work of historical reconstruction. Laurent Binet's HHhH (2010) tells the story of Operation Anthropoid, the mission that led to the assassination of Reinhold Heydrich, the architect of the Final Solution. Why was Binet so eager to recast history as a struggle between good and evil? How does he deal with all the evil that followed from this heroic attempt to do good? What makes his Nazis different from the ones to be found in other twenty-first century novels?   Join us on Friday 19th June at the Regent Street Cinema in London for the final film in our current season: a screening of Never Let Me Go followed by a live podcast recording with geneticist and science writer Adam Rutherford. Episode 82How does a man responsible for orchestrating the logistics of a genocide reconcile his actions with his conscience? In this episode, we peel back the layers of history to examine the chilling life of Adolf Eichmann, the SS-Obersturmbannführer who became the primary architect of the "Final Solution." From his rise through the Nazi bureaucracy to his desperate flight to Argentina after the war, we trace the steps of the man who famously claimed he was "just following orders."Join us as we explore the capture, trial, and ultimate fate of one of the 20th century's most infamous figures. We'll dive into the concept of the "banality of evil"—a term coined during his trial—to ask difficult questions about responsibility, institutional cruelty, and how ordinary men can facilitate extraordinary horror. In this episode, we explore:The Logistics of Terror: How Eichmann turned the mass deportation of millions into a cold, administrative routine. The Argentine Escape: The intense clandestine operation to track down Eichmann and bring him to justice. The Jerusalem Trial: Why his 1961 trial remains a watershed moment in how the world understands the Holocaust and accountability. This is a deep, sobering look at the dark machinery of the Third Reich and the enduring search for justice in the wake of unimaginable tragedy.Send us Fan MailAbout History Ignited: History Ignited is the award-winning kids and family history podcast inspired by Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire. This week on Truth to Power, we bring you a conversation about "Interwar Germany and the U.S. Today: Are They Comparable Cases of the Failure of Democracy and the Rise of Dictatorship?" This virtual community conversation with Christopher R. Browning, Professor Emeritus of History at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, took place on February 24, 2026, and was organized by the Oberlin Club of Washington, D.C. Given the propensity to invoke Hitler, Nazism, and fascism in current political discussion, historians of Europe in the era of fascist dictatorship, World War II, and the Holocaust should set a high bar for responsible and informed analogizing, against which facile and distorted attempts can be measured and found wanting. This talk will attempt a careful comparison and contrast between Hitler and Trump as personalities and politicians, as well as between the fall of Weimar and rise of Nazi dictatorship on the one hand and current events and trends in the U.S. on the other. Professor Browning will do so operating from the premise that insights based upon knowledge of the past are very important for illuminating and understanding our current situation, but the careless weaponizing of the past simply to stigmatize one's opponents is self-defeating. Christopher R. Browning is the Frank Porter Graham Professor History Emeritus at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he taught from 1999-2014. He is a specialist on the Holocaust and renowned for work documenting the Final Solution, the behavior of those implementing Nazi policies, and the use of survivor testimony. Earlier, he taught at Pacific Lutheran University from 1974-1999. Christopher is the author of nine books, including three–Ordinary Men (1992), The Origins of the Final Solution (2004), and Remembering Survival (2010)—which received the National Jewish Book Award in the Holocaust Category. He has served as historical expert witness at two Holocaust denial trials: Ernst Zündel v. Crown Prosecution in Toronto in 1988, and David Irving v. Deborah Lipstadt and Penguin Press in London in 2000. Christopher was a History major at Oberlin and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in 2014. He earned his PhD in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with his wife Jenni Horn Browning '67. Welcome to What Matters Now, a weekly podcast exploring key issues currently shaping Israel and the Jewish World, with host deputy editor Amanda Borschel-Dan, speaking with author and scholar Dara Horn. Horn visited ToI's Jerusalem studio while on a break from this year’s International Writers Festival in Jerusalem, taking place May 25-28 at the city’s Mishkenot Sha’ananim cultural center An author of novels and non-fiction, including “People Love Dead Jews,” “Eternal Life,” “A Guide for the Perplexed,” Horn's latest book -- her first for young readers -- is “One Little Goat.” Her newest nonfiction work will be published by Simon & Schuster in September under the title, "The Final Solution to the Jewish Question: A Love Story for the Living." We hear about how, after Horn published her bestselling work, "People Love Dead Jews," readers asked her for the solution to this problem. This week, she speaks about her new education initiative, Tell, which is bent on teaching American schoolchildren about real, living Jews, and Jewish culture. To launch the wide-ranging conversation, Horn defines terms, explaining that Jews are not a religion, but a people with a religion. This difference, she states, is massive and must be internalized to understand the millennia of hate experienced by the Jewish people. Since the Hamas onslaught on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, and the resultant retaliatory war in Gaza, there has been an outsized focus on the trend of "non-Zionist" or "anti-Zionist" Jews. Who are these Jews -- and are they significant in the chronicles of Jewish history? And so, this week, we ask author Dara Horn, what matters now? Cities and Memory - remixing the sounds of the world

"There are so many extraordinary moments in Claude Lanzmann's nine hour documentary, Shoah but it's the interviews with the railway workers and the train drivers that helped facilitate the horrors of the holocaust (some of them still working those same lines when the movie was made in the 70's and 80's) and those with the farmers and local people who bore witness to the trains that have the most impact. The sheer matter-of-factness of their recounting; the lack of compassion, the smiles and shoulder shrugging. The banality of genocide. "After I'd watched Shoah, I felt as though something inside of me had been broken. From childhood I had grown up with the idea of this as the worst of human crimes, the word holocaust, alone, meant to pause for breath. Now here was the shock of seeing people involved with and witness to it writing it off as just another thing that happened in the course of a day of work. It was a shock, though, that came accompanied by an uncomfortable realisation that of course that's how it was: for evil to be committed on such a huge scale it couldn't have been any other way."The ‘Final Solution' was a railway operation run to a timetable. It was: mechanics, logistics, coke and steam. Wagoning, shunting, shovelling and coaling. Rubber stamps and forms in triplicate. Cold, logical, every day planning. "I used locomotive sounds and looped them."There's a legend that there are no birds at Auschwitz but I imagined gazing up high and longing to escape. I have also read about how the inmates began to see the contrails of the American bombers late in the war. I can't imagine what that must have meant to them. I can't imagine how much hope they still held onto after everything that they had experienced. "I imagined a folk song, sang it and then reprised its melody like a memory of the singer gone."In his book The Truce, Primo Levi recounts that the very worst thing said to the inmates by the camp guards was that even if by a miracle some of them survived the camp it wouldn't matter, because the perpetrators were going to destroy all of the evidence and hide it all from the world and nobody that the survivors tried to tell about it would ever believe any of it was true."It is the duty of every one of us as human beings to make sure that that prophecy is never allowed to come to pass."Birkenau Gate, Auschwitz soundscape reimagined by Jon Griffin.

When we talk about the Holocaust, most of us immediately think of death camps like Auschwitz or Dachau, chilling symbols of the Nazis' “Final Solution”. But before they reached that level of industrialised brutality, the Nazis explored other ways to remove Jews from Europe. One plan, both absurd and terrifying, was to send all Jews to the distant island of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. How on earth did the Germans come up with that idea? What happened for the plan to take off in 1940? Why didn't it happen then? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! “Everybody's dead. Don't ask me about anybody. Everybody's dead.”  This is the story of the Final Solution.  From Anne Frank's annex to countless ghettos, Jews who have thus far avoided the concentration camps are increasingly being funneled there. Jewish leaders like Chaim Rumkowski face impossible dilemmas—who should be sent to the camps? On the other hand, some Warsaw Ghetto inhabitants choose to fight back, their last ditch efforts to resist and escape living on in the words of only a few survivors.  Even as the ghettos and their inhabitants are liquidated, Dr. Josef Mengele and others at Auschwitz continue their own work of death. We'll witness, in order, how people go from cramped cattle car to crematoria; and keep in mind, Auschwitz is but one of many. All together, these accounts from survivors will hopefully provide as complete an overview of the Holocaust's extermination camps as one episode can.  ____ Connect with us on HTDSpodcast.com and preorder Prof. Jackson's new book go deep into episode bibliographies and book recommendations join discussions in our Facebook community get news and discounts from The HTDS Gazette  come see a live show get HTDS merch or become an HTDS premium member for bonus episodes and other perks. So Stripe has been fighting with me all year over ANC Report. Sad news is they will no longer allow me to accept payments from Peasants to Rainbow Frogs. So if you were A Peasant, Artisan, Knight, Paladin or Rainbow Frog this is the end of that adventure. I am battling with them to either refund the money to the buyers or allow me to have it. Right now it is on hold which is the worst case scenario because it means neither I or the customers have the money. Fear not, I am used to being canceled off of things for no reason. Stripe wants us all funneled into establishment social media which is control by the wall kissers. Substack is not one of those. They are the last man standing. But currently they cannot offer a tier list like Patreon or others do. But they are the ONLY one that does not censor. We did not know how Substack would be. On a scale of 1 to Lindsey Graham how gay would they be on free speech. Enough time has passed to give them a grade. It turns out, they actually obey the constitution. Which means Spinning squirrel is a go. You can thank Stripe for pissing me off enough to release it. So every Sunday for the next 12 weeks we are going to show case Spinning Squirrel, Rotating Rodent and Twirl Squirrel the Final Solution plus interviews with prominent H.R. updates from Bud and other things that will make the establishment crawl up the wall. So much nonsense is said about the Holocaust including the retarded twitter-sphere that keeps talking about “muh Red Cross report” and acting like only 271k were killed. It is a funny meme, but it is completely false. However I am not that interested in debunking idiotic exaggerations coming from THAT side, as they are already criminalized in 25 countries. I am focusing more on the equally absurd exaggerations and fabrications coming from Holocaustianity. Do not be a light switch brain. Debunking nonsense from one camp is not an endorsement of the other. I used to argue with revisionists and have debunked many of the best of them. Oddly those interviews have been censored too. But Why should I play offense for the side that has labeled me a denier and canceled me off of everything? I'm not going to any more. They can play defense themselves. I will however body slam, whip to the ropes, big boot and leg drop the Holocaust alarmists. Because these charlatan rats have profited in the tens of millions of dollars from lying about the holocaust, playing victims where they were never even involved and so on. So today if you can, cancel you ANC membership and add substack at least at the $7 level but I encourage you to get Prime. The price is adjustable give as much or little as you want. You can mimic what yo were trying to do on ANC. Better than that getI am seriously about to kick the establishment in the nuts. This burns all bridges for me to “legit” media. Doesn't really matter because I am blackballed from that anyway thanks to the ADL, SPLC, Canary Mission and so on. Literally the Epstein List. So of course I will double down. This will be Ryan Dawson Dark Mode. Starting with this 911 map puzzle. Fun for the Whole Family. Oh I got Bin Laden! Yay, who has Bandar Bin Sultan? Ruta's Closet tells the compelling Holocaust story of a Jewish family, imprisoned in the tiny Shavl ghetto in Lithuania, during World War II, written by journalist Keith Morgan. We are familiar with many of the great Jewish communities of the pre-war years and of their fate when they were turned into ghettos and became the scenes of mass murder and deportation. One such place that is less familiar is the Lithuanian town of Siauliai, known in Yiddish as Shavl. The few survivors of that once vibrant Jewish community have often expressed to me their sadness that it does not figure as prominently as it ought in most accounts of the Holocaust. This book redresses that balance.“The origins of Ruta's Closet trace back to 1997 when I wrote a newspaper column in Vancouver's Province about Holocaust survivor Ruth Kron Sigal, now deceased,” says Morgan.  “In my long newspaper career, I'd covered many chilling true-life crimes but her story was the most remarkable I had heard.”It is the true story of how Ruth's family sought to escape the deadly clutches of Hitler's Final Solution in Lithuania. Her parents' determination to survive grew stronger as members of their Jewish family and good friends died at the hands of the Nazis and marauding armed collaborators. This important book records chilling accounts of mass murders, a cruel Nazi ban on births, forced attendance by young and old at a public hanging, the saving of a ruthless SS officer by a Jewish doctor and the transport of hundreds of ghetto children to their deaths in the gas chambers at the Auschwitz Death Camp. Such events will horrify readers but the bravery shown by the family and their neighbors make it a compelling read -- as intriguing as it is inspirational. While the narrative is fact-based, it reads like fiction, making it accessible to all generations of readers. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

“The procedure is a pretty barbaric one and not to be described here more definitively. Not much will remain of the Jews.” —Joseph Goebbels This is the story of how the Holocaust becomes industrialized.  In January 1942, Nazi leaders discuss what will become the “Final Solution”: their plan to murder millions. As more and more Jews are stripped of everything and forced into ghettos, and terrified parents bid a tearful (and often final) farewell to their children, German leaders decide how to deal with the fact that the new territory they've acquired is full of Jews and other “undesirables.” As the Nazis march through Europe, they'll “evacuate” the continent's Jews sending them to overcrowded disease-ridden ghettos, then to concentration camps. Initially, mobile killing units, or Einsatzgruppen, simply shoot Jews where they stand. This practice will give way to extermination camps, as one camp in particular—Auschwitz—is figuring out how to use gas to kill on a truly industrial level.  After years of building, the Holocaust is in full swing. New B'nai Brith Canada CEO Simon Wolle set priorities. Now they're being sorely tested

At a time he calls a “national crisis of antisemitism,” Simon Wolle has stepped into one of the most visible advocacy roles in the country: CEO of B'nai Brith Canada. He took over in October, leading the 150-year-old Jewish human rights organization at a moment of growing concern for Jewish Canadians. He had little time to settle into the role before the security situation changed dramatically: Wolle calls it “seismic shifts". In recent months, Toronto police foiled an ISIS-linked terror plot; a boycott campaign targeted Jewish summer camps; and protests continue to spread through Jewish neighbourhoods, often without police intervention. Then, after Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran began again in late February, tensions escalated further. In the span of a single week, three Toronto-area synagogues and several Jewish-owned businesses were targeted in drive-by shootings. Elsewhere, hate charges were dropped against a Montreal café owner who had threatened Jews with “the Final Solution”; a long-standing Holocaust education event at Vanier College was cancelled; and political rhetoric around Israel drew renewed national attention ahead of Sunday's election of Avi Lewis, a Jewish anti-Zionist, as leader of the NDP. When Wolle started the job five months ago, his priorities included encouraging mainstream Jewish organizations to put aside “their egos” and work together more closely to fight antisemitism. He also hoped to persuade Canadian Jews not to abandon this country, but to stay and help improve the situation –even if this will take time. Wolle spoke with The CJN's North Star podcast host Ellin Bessner in an interview recorded in mid-February, right before the latest escalation between Israel and Iran. In that conversation, he laid out how he believes B'nai Brith's role must evolve — in ways that now feel even more urgent. Sermon Audio – Cross of Grace

John 3:1-17Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews, who came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God because no one can do the signs that you do apart from the presence of God.” Jesus answered him, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born from above.” Nicodemus said, “How can one be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother's womb and be born?”Jesus answered him, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of the flesh is flesh and what is born of the Spirit is Spirit. Do not be astonished that I've said to you, ‘You must be born from above.' The wind blows where it chooses and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?”Jesus answered him, “Are you a teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? Very truly I tell you, we speak about what we know and we testify to what we have seen and yet, you do not receive our testimony. If we speak to you about earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe when we tell you about heavenly things?“No one has ascended to heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up a serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.“For God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that everyone who believes in him may not perish, but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” I heard about the shoes long before stepping foot into the Holocaust Exhibition yesterday in Cincinnati with the group of Cross of Gracers who made the trip there. Not only had I heard about the shoes, but I'd seen something similar at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. several years ago. In Cincinnati there were pictures and a couple of stories about individual shoes from murdered Jews. D.C.'s museum hosts an exhibit of actual shoes, though, piled several feet deep – hundreds of them – men's shoes, women's shoes, the tiny shoes of children – stacked, like bodies you might say, as a grisly reminder – not just of the number of lives destroyed by the Holocaust, but the very simple, profound, fairly universal symbol of humanity that was lost in those years. What's also sobering to realize is that there are museums and memorials around the world with equally large and disturbing piles of shoes of their own. Which makes sad, terrifying sense of course. More than six million murdered Jews leave behind plenty of shoes to go around. (And let us not forget the queer folk, the Roma people, those with disabilities, and thousands of others who were also murdered as part of Hitler's Holocaust and Final Solution.)Anyway, and of course, we also saw, yesterday, plenty of pictures, video footage, and so many living, personal testimonies about the horrors of that regime, and of those days, and of that sinful stain on humanity's history. And they are difficult to see – sad, shameful, and scary – but necessary, to look at, in my opinion; as people of faith, as responsible citizens, as human beings on the planet, as children of God.And, for so many reasons, I thought of these things when I thought about this morning's Gospel.See, when Jesus reminds Nicodemus about that time in Israel's history when “Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,” he's recalling that strange story from the book of Numbers when God's people had lost faith and had been disobedient and doubtful of God, so that poisonous serpents showed up to bite them as punishment, so the story goes. When they realized the error of their ways and asked for help, Moses – at God's direction – put a bronze serpent on a pole, and set it up so that God's people could look at the serpent – like some sort of sacred, spiritual anti-venom – and be healed from the poisonous of those snakes that had plagued them. They were called to look back; to face their fear; to stare their struggle, their sadness, their sin – the source of their pain and punishment – in the eye – in order to be healed of it.And isn't that, a lot of the time, the very last thing we are inclined to do – get close to and look at the source of our struggle and sinfulness, I mean? Isn't it hard and scary, sometimes, to look our fear, our shame, our guilt, and our greatest threat in the eye? Aren't we pretty good at – if not inherently wired for – avoiding so many of the difficult, scary, broken parts of our lives and of our history, rather than face them, admit them, let alone engage and get close to them and expect good things to come of it?And it's no wonder, really. Our world is an unforgiving, judgmental, punishment- seeking, vengeance-hungry, score-keeping, death-dealing kind of place to live in. Admitting mistakes is bad for approval ratings – just ask a politician. Failure is to be avoided at all costs – just ask a student or a young athlete in your life. Admitting sin and seeking forgiveness feels like weakness – just look in the mirror. But this is what I hear Jesus ask of us in this morning's Gospel. “Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up” … on a pole… on a tree… on a cross for all the world to see, so that we might look at him, so that we might look to him for deliverance from that which we fear threatens us most – our greatest mistakes, our deepest guilt, our darkest shame, our unfathomable brokenness, our Sin – with a capital S – heaped upon God, in Jesus, and left to die on a cross. And that's the power – and the practical, holy importance – of museums and memorials that point to and remind us of our history, and that force us to look it straight in the eye, even when, especially when, it's terrible and terrifying – like any Holocaust exhibit, like the Lynching Memorial in Montgomery, Alabama, like the Vietnam Wall, the 9/11 Museum, the Stonewall National Monument in Greenwich Village, New York. These are hard, holy reminders of humanity's capacity for inhumanity. But there is also warning and hope and potential for transformation when we dare to confront, study, learn from, and be changed by what we've done.- I don't know how anyone could spend 5 minutes in that Cincinnati exhibit and deny the atrocities of Hitler's regime – but there are too many who still pretend it didn't happen or that it wasn't as bad as it was, and who refuse to believe what their eyes could see if they'd just look.- After learning that some of the Nazi's first sinister steps toward “Making Germany Great” included very deliberately “Germanizing” the names of towns, villages, and streets, I'll think even harder every time I hear or see someone refer to “The Gulf of America” on a map.- And when I hear about innocent US Citizens being unfairly, unjustly detained, imprisoned, and deported, I'll remember the way that happened to innocent Japanese Americans once before, too, while we were simultaneously, ironically, fighting to liberate Jews from similar tyranny in the same damn war.We need all the reminders and reality checks we can get, people. Because, as Maya Angelou used to say, something with which I believe Jesus would agree: “When you know better, you do better.”That's why yesterday – and all of this – is more than a history lesson for me. It's an exercise of faith because these Lenten days are all about doing this work – looking back, acknowledging, admitting, confessing, repenting of our sins – working to change and be changed because of them – and extending mercy, grace and love to the world of God's children as a result.Because “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might have eternal life.” And because “God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”It's hard to look at what hurts, horrifies and threatens to kill us – at what has killed too many of us – and trust that, in doing so, we can be saved. But that's Jesus' invitation today, nonetheless… “to look and live” like those Israelites were commanded to do, way back when. To look at the Sin that has bitten us and that bites us, still. To see, repent for, and change all the ways we manage to break the heart of God; not avert our eyes, not run from, not pretend or deny the fullness of our Sin – and to not be fooled into believing God can't redeem it, either. And that's why we look to the cross … so that we might stop hiding from the sins that hang there – all the things done, left undone, and yet to be done – so that we might look full in the face at our greatest shame and our deepest fears and into the threat of our own brokenness – into the face, even, of death – and to see God's promised salvation in spite of it all.Because when we see the whole of our SIN crucified and killed … then forgiven and raised to new life … it can't bite, burden, or betray us any longer. And when we receive and accept the fullness of this grace, we can learn to walk in the shoes of our neighbor and live transformed lives in return – asking for forgiveness, extending mercy, and loving one another – wholly – the way we have already been loved, by God, in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

The official 2025 Claims Conference report claims that 220,800 survivors of the "Jewish-Holocaust" are still alive today, with 50% living in Israel and 16% living in the U.S. This number is a massive increase from years previous where it was reported to have been 100,000 in 2016 before jumping to 245,000 in 2020. Yad Vashem also published their findings of 5 million murdered Jews in late 2025, noting that AI and algorithms can help discover the remaining million. They state that 2.8 million are recorded by Pages of Testimony, which require no evidence or even documentation, and can include people not even murdered. Likewise, the increasing number of victims is a result of similar adjustments to assumed facts, i.e., anyone can be a "survivor," including people born after the war according to the Claims Conference. Yad Vashem also admits, "there is no document in our possession that indicates specifically by whom, at what time, and in what way it was decided to embark on the total extermination of the Jews," and provides a transcript of the Wannsee Conference where the Germans discuss the Final Solution as being an emigration plan involving work and transit facilities.  *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Anne Frank is one of the most widely read authors in history, although she did not live to see the publication of her book. Anne was a German teenager who happened to be Jewish as well. She and her family spent 2 years in seclusion in Amsterdam during World War II. Anne's diary describes the horrors of hiding from the Nazis - before eventually being sent to concentration camps. The Wannsee Conference was a clandestine meeting of Nazi leaders in 1942 to outline the systematic murder of Jews in Europe which became known as the Holocaust.

In this episode, The Explaining History Podcast explores the dark and complex evolution of genocide during the Second World War. Drawing on the foundational research of Nikolaus Wachsmann in his seminal work, "KL: A History of the Nazi Concentration Camps," and the broader "functionalist" school of historical thought, this episode traces the path to the Holocaust. The discussion will move away from a simplistic view of a pre-meditated plan for mass extermination and instead delve into the radicalization of Nazi policy over time. Listeners will learn how the concentration camp system, initially designed for political opponents, horrifically transformed into a network of death camps. The episode will examine the key turning points and bureaucratic momentums that led to the "Final Solution," highlighting how a series of escalating decisions and the brutalizing logic of the war itself culminated in the systematic murder of millions.Join us as we unpack the complex and often chillingly rational processes that led to the unimaginable, providing a nuanced and deeply researched perspective of one of the Holocaust's key moments of radicalisation.Go Deeper: Visit our website at www.explaininghistory.org for articles and detailed explorations of the topics discussed.▸ Join the Conversation: Our community of history enthusiasts discusses episodes, shares ideas, and continues the conversation. Growing In God Podcast   Web Description: Hargrave Ministries is delighted to announce that the book God's Final Solution Revealed is published and available! Subtitled “A Call to End Anti-Semitism in the World,” this book challenges us to discover and uproot the anti-Semitism in our own hearts. But it not only deals with the negative aspects. It also gives us a connection with Israel and the Jewish people and links us into the irreversible promises of God in His Word for His nation and His people in the end-time.   Show Notes: Many nations have continually tried to carry out their solutions and plans for the Jewish people and the land of Israel. This even included Hitler's extremely evil “final solution.” What these nations forget is that the Jewish people are God's people and Israel is God's land and God has a plan for them. The book God's Final Solution Revealed presents this plan which God has made clearly known throughout the Scriptures.   As Christians the sooner we recognize God's plan and become those who are praying, proclaiming, and actively participating in its fulfilment, the better off we will be. As this book explains, anti-Semitism is like leaven that appears to be dormant for a long time until it suddenly manifests in destructive ways—a fact that we are witnessing today. The book also shows how Christianity sadly has been a major source of this anti-Semitism throughout history.   Whether we want to admit it or not, this leaven of anti-Semitism still exists within the Christian Church. In our doctrines, our statements of faith, and our attitudes, we have been shaped by a great deal of anti-Semitism. And it is essential in this day that we free ourselves from these ways of thinking. Please get this book, read it prayerfully, and ask the Holy Spirit to expose the leaven of anti-Semitism in your own heart and be diligent to sweep it out.   Key Verses:   •       Jeremiah 33:6–7. “I will restore the fortunes of Judah and the fortunes of Israel and will rebuild them as they were at first.” •       Jeremiah 33:20–22. “If you can break My covenant for the day … then My covenant may also be broken with David.”   Quotes:   •       “We need to see how serious God is about His Word, about the covenants He has made with the land of Israel, with the peoples—no matter where they dwell in the diaspora today—to see every promise fulfilled and brought to pass.” •       “There needs to be a response, and yes even a rebuke, to what has been allowed to exist as anti-Semitism, not just in our society but in our churches.” •       “If we believe that we are in the end-times, then it behooves us to know what God has planned and what He has said He would do, and the fulfillments He would bring in these end days. And I believe that the relationship with Israel and the Jewish people is a major part of that.”   Takeaways:   1.    The book God's Final Solution Revealed lays out the scriptural truth of God's faithfulness to His people and to the land of Israel, and how we will see the fulfillment of His Word always come to pass. It also exposes the anti-Semitism in society and in the Church, and it challenges us to honestly confront it within ourselves. 2.    This book brings clarity and ends any confusion regarding the important place the Jewish people, Judaism, and Israel have in the end-times. It also shows the place the Gentile church must have in a relationship with the Jewish people, with Judaism, and with Israel. 3.    Read this book with an open heart and let the Holy Spirit enlighten your eyes to see the very real need for repentance in the Body of Christ. We must free ourselves from the conditioning of anti-Semitism that has been imparted to us over many years and remove it from the Church as well as from society.

The excesses given by defenders such as ‘yeah, but what about Hamas,' or ‘sure, Bondi said she had the list, but what about the other criminals we are arresting', are not mere diversions, they are Israeli talking points. It is evidently clear that nearly anyone in a position of power is compromised and blackmailed, particularly by Israel. Hannah Arendt's 1963 book, “The Banality of Evil,” is actually wrong. It portrayed the lie Eichmann told when he was on trial. He said that he was “just following orders.” Arendt got conned. Eichmann was a true believer in Hitler's final solution and a committed Anti-Semite. On this episode of Cult Conversations: The Influence Continuum, I spoke with accomplished Israeli filmmaker Yariv Mozer about his award-winning series The Devil's Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes documenting senior Nazi SS officer Adolf Eichmann's role as architect in the planning and implementation of the Holocaust's Final Solution. We cover the controversial first arc of the series which parallels the plans of the Empire with the Final Solution of the Nazi era, as they flood the galaxy with propaganda to demonize a planet they plan to colonize, and how a fascist regime uses sexual violence and unwitting dupes who think they're serving a greater good through their collaboration. BEST OF: Whether organic or artificial, the recent reports of flyers being dropped in London threatening Zionist-Jews, and the recent UK incident of Jewish kids on buses being attacked by other kids off the street, are examples of a rising chaos that is without context. However, we know that a woman in Canada holding her arm up like a National-Socialist and saying ‘Final Solution' was doing so as a Jew to smear Palestinian protestors; we know a man in the US putting swastikas on signs had a Jewish name and was looking to smear Republicans; we know that Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer fans in Amsterdam were ripping flags down from a private residence in a foreign country, disturbing the peace of a flood victim memorial, and attacking cab drivers, all while chanting “death or Arabs,” long before mobs gathered in resistance or some random person said ‘cancer Jews'; we also know that an Atlantic hit piece, written by the Jewish Franklin Foer, on the incoming presidential administration in the US being ‘the most Anti-Semitic Cabinet in Decades' is totally in contrast with nearly every appointment-pick being a Jewish-Zionist, Christian-Zionist, or zealot looking for war in Iran. What this tells us, alongside of 79% of Jews voting for Democrats, who receive half their campaign money from Jews, and $100 million dollar given by the Jewish Mariam Adelson to her ‘savior' who won the US Presidential election, there are multiple factions looking to make Jews victim in order to just censoring speech, protest, press, and even guns in the case of the Jewish Michael Bloomberg. We also know that according to the Council on American Islamic Relations that nearly 49% of Muslim students are being harassed or mocked in schools simply for being Muslim, most having never been to a protest. This is a constant theme that has been increasing since 2013, and a true definition of rising anti-semitism, a term which has been hijacked like the words holocaust or pogrom. In fact, despite the blatant disregard for peace or the law in Amsterdam by Jewish fans, Benjamin Netanyahu accused respondents of attacking Jews “just for being Jews,” and said that the response was nothing more than a “pogrom,” a term that refers to the calling for massacre of a particular group of people - Palestinians, Russians, etc. As is the case with holocaust being a mass killing by fire - Hiroshima, Nagasaki. Either way you divide this issue you find one group or another being made victim and given special protections against the rights of others; you find common Jews being made victim to violence by bigots fed either leftwing or rightwing propaganda; you find calls for war. All of this is setting the stage for literal armageddon, when even that is metaphoric like the Promised Land. This show is about understanding, peace, and context. If we neglect to approach these subjects as such then we are reduced to the rhetoric of the Jewish Communist Ilya Ehrenburg, who called to kill all Germans, just as today there are calls to kill the Russians, Palestinians, Ukrainians, Americans, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and so on.*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Lothar Hermann found out his neighbour was ‘architect of the Holocaust' Adolf Eichmann.Lothar Hermann's German-Jewish family perished in the Holocaust, but when he escaped to Argentina, little did he know that within a few years a Nazi fugitive would wind up living at the end of his street. Lilianna Hermann spent two decades uncovering the story of a hidden family hero - her great uncle Lothar - only to find a shocking truth: it was Lothar who had played a vital role in capturing the notorious SS officer and Nazi fugitive, Adolf Eichmann, the man responsible with carrying out Hitler's Final Solution. But Lothar was not celebrated in Eichmann's capture and eventual trial and back home Lothar faced threats and indifference from Nazi sympathisers. This is the unbelievable true story of how a blind survivor, living off his pension, brought down one of the architects of the Holocaust. Julie Brill joins Let's Talk Memoir for a conversation about growing up the daughter of a Holocaust survivor and her journey to understand the unexamined childhood stories she grew up with, being a reluctant memoirist and leaning into telling the story of an ordinary person figuring things out, the Holocaust and the history of the Jews of Serbia, inherited memories, making ourselves the central character, when our parents'  foundational stories become ours, finding our place, permission to tell a story if you didn't live through it, and her new memoir HIdden in Plain Sight: A Family Memoir and the Untold Story of the Holocaust in Serbia.   Also in this episode: -the missing missing -the unthought known -making research readable   Books mentioned in this episode: Three Minutes in Poland by Glenn Kertz Paper Love by Sarah Wildman Plunder by Menachem Kaiser Big Magic by Liz Gilbert The Creative Process by Twyla Tharp   As a child, Julie Brill held two conflicting beliefs. She knew Germans had murdered her Jewish grandfather in occupied Yugoslavia, yet she somehow believed the Holocaust had never come to his hometown of Belgrade. The family anecdotes her father passed down, a blend of his early memories and what his mother told him, didn't match what Julie had heard about Germany, Poland, and Anne Frank in Holland during World War II. Even frequent readers of Holocaust history likely do not understand the Serbian story. Destruction there came early and fast. Without cattle cars, gas chambers, or distant camps, the Nazis murdered almost the entire Jewish population before the plan for the Final Solution was even set. With so few Jewish survivors and descendants from Serbia, the story of the Shoah there has gone untold. Julie's quest to understand and share what she learned led to Hidden in Plain Sight: A Family Memoir and the Untold Story of the Holocaust in Serbia. Julie has written for Haaretz, the Forward, Kveller, The Times of Israel, Balkan Insight, and elsewhere. She shares her family's experiences in the Holocaust in middle and high school classrooms through Living Links.  Additionally, Julie is a lactation consultant, doula, childbirth educator, and the author of the anthology Round the Circle: Doulas Share Their Experiences. Fast, pointed, and irresistibly astute: Andor's Season 2 premiere, “One Year Later,” isn't holding any punches. In our recap this week, we discuss Andor's magical ability to pull on both historic and modern-day threads. The super-secret Imperial summit, for instance, calls back to the World War II Wannsee Conference and its “Final Solution of the Jewish Question.” But it's also a dead ringer for conversations about energy independence happening in the White House today. In its zippy season premiere, Andor manages to mock leftist infighting (again), stage a gloriously tense TIE Avenger heist, and throw open the Mothma estate for a splashy pre-nuptial bash. We knew Season 2 wasn't going to disappoint—but even we weren't expecting it to look this good while doing it.New to Growing Up Skywalker? Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day where we remember that very dark time in world history known as the Holocaust where approximately 6 million Jews were killed by Hitler and his Nazi regime. To help listeners maintain a balanced, biblical view on this subject, Crosstalk welcomed back Dr. Richard Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt is pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church, and founder of Prophecy Focus Ministries. He's the speaker on the weekly TV program, "Prophecy Focus" and the radio broadcast, "Prophecy Unfolding."According to Dr. Schmidt, if we go back to Genesis we see Abraham had a son named Isaac. Isaac, in turn, had a son named Jacob whose name was changed to Israel. This is the foundation of who the Jewish people are. God called them his chosen/covenant people. Then in the (unconditional) Abrahamic Covenant God said that he would bless those who bless the Jewish people and curse those who curse them. This is still in effect today and will continue that way through the prophetic future.Moving up the timeline, what were the events that led to the Holocaust? Why were the Jews targeted by Hitler? Was Martin Luther an antisemite? What is supersessionism? What made Hitler's form of nationalism unique? What was Hitler's "Final Solution"? These and other questions are answered by Dr. Schmidt and callers had their opportunity to weigh-in on the subject as well.

The Nazi regime under Adolf Hitler carried out the extermination of nearly six million Jews, primarily between the years 1939-1945. How is the horrible tragedy referred to? Over the years various names and terms have been proposed, promoted, used in historiography and public discourse. By the mid 1950's The Holocaust came to dominate in the English speaking world, while Shoah or The Shoah was already widespread even earlier in Hebrew. In academic circles the Nazi term Final Solution was often used, or alternatively Genocide, or Judeocide was sometimes used in the early years, before Holocaust or Shoah gained more widespread acceptance. Another term to refer to the Nazi murder of European Jewry was Destruction, or the Hebrew term Churban, sometimes elongated to Churban Europa. This more traditional term – which evoked imagery of the destruction of the Bais Hamikdash – was preferred in many religious circles. What were the origins of these various term, and how did they develop in the trajectory which they did? Does it matter which term is utilized in describing this tragic chapter in Jewish history? Does the choice of name express an ideology or choose a direction of the narrative?   Link for Yehuda Geberer lectures on the Holocaust at Yeshiva Shappell's Darche Noam: https://open.spotify.com/show/6PGiaiQFk10ybR9dS5wWTp https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/shapells-virtual-beit-midrash/id1516601751 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc0NeHrGWsCtlV_uVplhJa9mT2ecM0sLt   Cross River, a leading financial institution committed to supporting its communities, is proud to sponsor Jewish History Soundbites.
