Jon and Norma discussed her journey of boldness, re-invention, following her passions and how she listens to her gut and the universe. You will be inspired by her story, positive attitude, but mostly her courage! If you are looking to re-invent yourself, get out of a rut and/or grow in 2022, you will get a lot of wisdom from Norma. Born and raised in Detroit before moving to Los Angeles in 1993, Award-winning journalist and author Norma Zager returned to journalism after a 14-year stint as a stand up comic, playing Las Vegas regularly and opening for the biggest names in laughter. Her television and radio appearances on Food Network's Clash of the Grandmas, as guest host with Bobby Deen on The Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship and Hallmark Channel's Home and Family show have made her a favorite with audiences. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles from the Detroit area in 1993 she created Norma's 14 Karat Cookies to support herself and her children and was the first comedian to have her own comedy/cooking show in Las Vegas. Her celebrity clients have included Jerry Seinfeld, Arsenio Hall and Roseanne, who dubbed Norma's stuffed brownies, “my favorite thing to eat.” In 1999, Zager returned to journalism and accepted a position as a reporter at the Beverly Hills Courier newspaper. After nationally scooping all other media and breaking the story about Laura Schlessinger's mother's death combined with her in-depth coverage of other important stories, she was promoted to editor. When Erin Brockovich sued the city of Beverly Hills alleging an oil well on high school grounds was the cause of numerous cancers in former students, Zager's coverage and determination to print the truth garnered national attention. In 2003 she was awarded the Los Angeles Journalist of the Year and Best Investigative Reporter by the Los Angeles Press Club. The Wall Street Journal and The Columbia Journalism Review feted Zager's coverage in feature articles. Currently starring on NBC:s “Baking It” and co-hosting a weekly radio show about Israel has afforded her a worldwide audience. Her book, Erin Brockovich and the Beverly Hills Greenscam, released by Pelican Publishing in October 2010, is a cautionary tale about the dangers of ignoring environmental issues within one's community and offers tips and information about how to mitigate health problems. In it she describes the dangers inherent in allowing trial lawyers to police the environment and urges the public to take personal accountability for the health and safety of one's own family and community. The book has been used as a teaching tool in many university law classes. Zager, who graduated with a BA in journalism from Wayne State University, resides in Beverly Hills near her children, Laurie and husband Adam, and son Brad and grandchildren Ben and Sam. She also works freelance as a reporter, blogger, radio show host and writer. She also teaches Journalism part time at California State University Los Angeles. Currently co-hosting a weekly radio show about Israel and the Middle East has afforded her a world-wide audience. She remains a welcome guest on local, national and international radio, and is invited to speaking engagements across the country. He has been a leading voice in calling for an end to gun violence, police brutality, and racial injustice. Please welcome to Money Making Conversations Rasheed Wallace. My next guest is Vivian Weyll. Her fine jewelry business was founded on the belief that jewelry should be luxurious. That company, however, came to an abrupt end following her divorce, and the main producer of the stones was her former husband, who refused to provide the material for her to continue her venture. Thus she had to reinvent herself. Vivian's story is about being a single mother, an entrepreneur, and betting on yourself when she took a leap of faith, with a plan, and invested every dime into her new fine jewelry venture. She is on the show to tell her story and will motivate us with her story. Please welcome to Money Making Conversations Vivian Weyll.https://www.moneymakingconversations.comhttps://www.youtube.com/MoneyMakingConversationshttps://www.facebook.com/MoneyMakingConversations/https://twitter.com/moneymakingconvhttps://www.instagram.com/moneymakingconversations/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://news.iheart.com/podcast-advertisers

Join the ReWatchable hosts as they continue their re-watch with Sense8 season 2, episode 6, “Isolated Above, Connected Below.” Superfans: Mitch and Danielle Newbies: Caitlin and Natalie Fun Facts: Danielle is really excited about her new podcasting microphone. Natalie finally started watching the new iteration of Queer Eye and is really enjoying it. Caitlin is currently finding some (much-needed) happiness in mainlining Holiday Baking Championship on the Food Network. Mitch is crying over the interview between Harry Styles and Timothée Chalamet. Sense8 season 2, episode 6, “Isolated Above, Connected Below” – Synopsis – Wait, wait, wait. How did the rave happen? What was the plan and who was ACTUALLY there at the rave? – Like Jupiter Ascending, Sense8 is very much wish fulfillment and we should just not question this. – Let’s talk about Puck, baby. – Puck makes Felix look like he should always be walking around in a tuxedo. – Natalie is 100% here for Mr. Hoy. – We can imagine the sensates in a variety of different genres because their story covers so many aspects of the human experience. – Who is the Cannibal? – Riley is told to go to Chicago… Alone. Why? – Nomi gets called out as being narcissistic and we all kind of agree on that point. She could’ve waited 15 minutes, heard her sister out, and not run away from the dress fitting in her underwear to go stomp around the ruins of a cabin in the woods. – Raoul burns down the cabin, but we can’t decide how he was being controlled. – Seriously, what is UP with Angelica and why is she the WORST? – Sun’s dog crying was the worst thing that happened in this episode because SHE’S SO PRECIOUS. – We take a detour and talk about London, Primrose Hill, and where exactly Riley and Will are squatting (which is SUPER exciting for those who have never been to London). – Lito does the São Paulo Pride Parade and it’s so lovely. – Capheus 2.0 is the right iteration of Capheus to run for political office. Capheus 1.0, not so much. – Zakia’s pansexuality is a really interesting layer to add to the show at this point. – Capheus’ mom’s stride of pride is definitely note-worthy. – The Kalagang sex scene is *very* uncomfortable and we hated every minute of it. – Kala’s “fantasy” is really problematic here. – The Kalagang ship isn’t sailing here. At. All. – Lila kills a LOT of people. – Favorite Scenes – Favorite Lines Listener Feedback: – This is the Queer Place points out another great line from last week’s episode. – We get an email from a listener going through our Buffy the Vampire Slayer round who has some thoughts on the rules of vampirism. And we have a lot of our own thoughts in return. Caitlin’s Conjectures and Fisher’s Forecasts: – Sense8 season 2, episode 7, “I Have No Room in My Heart for Hate”
