The Pure Report welcomes Dan Kent, Everpure's new Field CTO for Federal, to the studio to discuss the critical intersection of advanced technology and public services. Dan, who recently joined Everpure, brings decades of experience in the Federal space, including senior roles at companies like Cisco and as a CTO, where he developed a passion for leading teams and tackling challenging engineering problems. Our conversation kicks off by exploring the unique complexities and high stakes of working with government agencies, which range from managing the massive data sets of the Social Security Administration (supporting 300 million citizens) to deploying mission-critical IT components in the most extreme environments, such as on battleships, in military vehicles, and even in space. Dan asserts that the Federal AI tipping point has passed, driven by the competitive global landscape, executive orders, and the government's immense data holdings—which require AI to glean insights. With an estimated 4,000 AI use cases already in pilot across various agencies (from Air Force platform maintenance to IRS fraud detection), the biggest obstacles remain the outdated infrastructure and the pervasive challenge of data quality. Dan highlights that infrastructure is not yet generative AI-ready, with data locked in silos and complicated by time-sensitive, duplicated, or decades-old information, leading to self-induced mistakes and ethical concerns like misidentification. Our discussion shifts to how Everpure is positioned to solve these foundational issues. Dan explains the necessity of modern infrastructure that enables automated data pipelines for continuous cleaning, classification, and transformation into vector databases (RAG). This automation is key to ensuring AI applications have accurate, timely context, thereby eliminating security risks and self-inflicted errors. Finally, we address the critical human element, emphasizing that while a skills gap exists, the outlook is positive: AI should be treated as a co-worker to boost efficiency and help the federal workforce achieve its citizen-focused missions more effectively. Life in godly unity requires that the real you shows up. However, no one has it all together. We can either pretend we do and remain disconnected, or we can adopt the practice of confession and learn to love one another through the reality of weakness and even failure. Dan Kent shows us what biblical confession is, what it is not, and then points us toward practical steps to move into honest confession.

How do we experience the reality of being God's family in practical ways? This question is especially crucial in a world that promotes judgment, division and isolation. Dan Kent addresses this by highlighting the instruction to “bear with each othaer.” Living in love does not mean only embracing those who are easy to love. Real love calls us to embrace those who require patient endurance. In this way, we reflect the love of the cross.

People will try to make free will compatible with a whole host of things that, on the face of it, seem determined. Folks will try to make free will compatible with philosophical materialism (all that exists are matter and energy), a settled future (Arminianism), and God's meticulous decree (Calvinism). But our concepts have consequences, and in this episode Dan Kent considers a strange consequence of Calvinist forms of compatibilism. In this episode of The Canadian Investor Podcast, Simon Belanger and Dan Kent kick things off with a surprising ripple effect from the AI boom: a full-blown RAM/memory shortage that’s sending PC upgrade costs through the roof. They break down why high-bandwidth memory (HBM) is crowding out “normal” consumer RAM production, how Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix are prioritizing the most profitable AI-driven demand, and what that could mean for pricing, upgrade cycles, and the broader tech supply chain. From there, they shift into a pragmatic, investor-focused look at positioning during geopolitical uncertainty—without cheerleading conflict. Dan outlines key areas investors often look at in these environments: defense contractors (and why buying after the headlines can be “buying the umbrella in the rain”), Canadian energy as a cleaner way to express higher oil prices with less Middle East exposure, the growing (and expensive) opportunity set in cybersecurity, and gold as both a safe haven and an inflation hedge. They also touch on different ways to gain exposure—individual names vs. ETFs—and wrap up with updates on the podcast’s YouTube live plans and what’s coming next. Shawna Boren and Dan Kent break down this week's message by Greg Boyd, titled: "Love Does Not Rejoice in Wrongdoing." Come join these two Nugget Dancers as they break down the next sermon in our "Love Does" series.
This first sermon in the “Love Does” series highlights the action of trust. Dan Kent explores the way that God trusts, the call to be trustworthy in our relationship with God and how to grow in our trust of one another. This challenge to the worldly pattern of distrust invites us to manifest love in concrete and practical ways.
In this sermon, Dan Kent opens up the meaning of the prophesy from Hosea 11:1 about Jesus being called out of Egypt. Dan explains how this verse speaks to God's delight for his people and applies this delight to us and how we experience God's love.

This sermon on the first of two beasts in Revelation 13 addresses what it means to trust God's faithfulness in tough times and the reality of hardship. Dan Kent contrasts this with a sanitized God, who, many assume, cannot deal with the world's evil or the spiritual warfare that is being waged.

Dan Kent introduces the problem of pride and how it is rooted in hierarchical systems where we measure ourselves against others. We are unable to love others when we are constantly evaluating them and ourselves. We must opt out of this system and learn to see all as equals, all equally loved.
