In this solo episode, I’m speaking candidly. I urge you to stop second-guessing yourself and doubting your dreams. 2020 has proven to be a year like no other. The untimely death of Kobe Bryant, COVID-19, murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and countless others, protests, and civil unrest in the United States and other parts of the world have shaken us to the core. Life as we knew it no longer exists. We’ve been forced to adjust to a new normal that none of us would have ever imagined we’d be living. Now more than ever, it’s time for you to seize the moment – to stop sitting around second-guessing yourself and start believing in yourself. It’s time for you to take action toward your dreams despite what’s happening around you. As you listen to this episode, I hope that you hear something that resonates and sparks you to action toward living your dreams. Take note of how you’re feeling. What thoughts come up about your dreams, desires and life goals? What do you dream of accomplishing in your life? What can you do today to start living your dream? As always, I’d love to hear your comments. You can share below these show notes at https://ericablocker.com/174 or email me at Erica@momswithdreams.com. Until next time, reclaim YOUR dreams. Do what YOU love. Make a difference. Take care, Erica
If you want to share your talents with the world, then whatever it is that you are doing, everything will always go back to your audience. That is why it is very important to know how to connect with them and build relationships. One of the growing platforms that has been helping so many businesses and individuals do that is podcasting. In this episode, Tracy Hazzard visits Erica Blocker's Moms with Dreams Show to discuss how to feed your audience through podcasting, sharing lots of good information about connecting with your listeners, and creating stuff of high-value content. For those still on the fence about starting their own shows, Tracy also gives some great insights about how to do that, beginning from identifying the value you bring and learning how to make it so people can receive it. On to her family, she then shares how she is working with them and exposing her children to the entrepreneurial mindset at a young age.
As a black woman and mother of three sons, I’d been watching what’s going on in our country with a deep sadness and concern. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t stop hearing George Floyd cry out for his mama while he struggled to breathe at the hands of police officers. Once again, another black man was carelessly killed. Another precious life taken – just like that. I felt afraid for my sons, my brothers, my cousins, and friends because that could have been one of them. I grew numb and silent as I struggled to figure out what to say in response to not only George Floyd’s murder but also of the many other black lives that were taken at the hands of police officers. As I thought about the present state of our country and all of the things I couldn’t do to protect my loved ones, I began to feel helpless. It wasn’t until I made the decision to speak out that I started to feel better. When I went live on Facebook for the first time and shared my candid thoughts, I felt powerful. I realized, in that moment, that my voice is my power. Even though I can’t change systemic racism and eradicate police brutality by myself, I can use my voice to speak up. That is what this episode is about. I’m sharing my thoughts and encouraging you to use the power of your voice to make a difference. I’d love to hear your thoughts after you listen. You can leave your comments below the show notes or email me at Erica@momswithdreams.com Thanks for listening and remember to use your voice – it’s your power. Take care, Erica

I’m super excited that we made it to this milestone episode! Here on the Moms with Dreams Show, we love to celebrate our success – both big and small - and reflect on lessons learned on our journey to our dreams. I often tell women that they have to give birth to their dreams and nurture them just as they birth their children and nurture them to independence. In this episode, I compare the process of starting your dream business to birthing a baby. I walk you through the process of birthing your dream business from conception to delivery in these stages: Conception of your dream – when you conjure up the idea or receive a vision Gestational period - when you’re carrying your dream inside of you, putting in work but aren’t able to “see” your dream yet Birth of your dream – when you give birth to your dream business, are nurturing it through actionable steps and are beginning to see results Resources Mentioned: As additional resources, I refer to previous episodes on the Moms with Dreams Show, Social Media Lifestyle podcast, and my web developer, Tim Melanson. Happy anniversary to the Moms with Dreams Show! I can’t believe it’s already been four years! I feel like time has gone by so fast. So much has happened since I launched my show on May 18, 2015. When I made the decision to end my online radio show and start my podcast, I was clear on what I liked about podcasting – having flexibility to pre-record interviews, having my own platform to share my message, the freedom to call the shots and the ability to create a show that would live forever on Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Stitcher, and other cool places where people can find me around the globe. What I didn’t know was how much time and energy I would have to invest to launch my show and keep it going. The first year was tough running my podcast as a one-woman show. I spent a lot of time learning how to edit in Audacity and trying to find my rhythm as an interviewer and discover my voice as a podcaster. Looking back, I realize how much I’ve grown over these past four years. I’ve gained new skills. I’ve met amazing women from all over the world and have made lifelong friends because of my podcast. I’m grateful for every tough lesson as it’s shaped me into the woman I am today. In this episode, I share ten valuable lessons that I’ve learned as a podcaster. I hope that you’ll find value in these lessons and apply what fits in your life. I also had fun recapping twenty of my favorite episodes. Honestly, the list was going to be much longer, but I had to cut it off in the interest of time. If you enjoyed this list, I’ll let you in on a little secret. I am working on a project that’s a spinoff of the MWD show. I’m excited to share it with you, but it’s still too early to spill the beans. I’ll share more with you very soon. As you listen, I hope you hear something that resonates and inspires you. I’d love to hear what you’re thinking. Feel free to leave your thoughts and comments below the show notes at http://ericablocker.com/147. You can also email me at: Erica@momswithdreams.com. Thank you for keeping me inspired and helping to make the Moms with Dreams Show a success. I wouldn’t be here without you, and I am so grateful for your love and support. Thank you for listening, for sharing and leaving me reviews. I appreciate you and am honored to be on this journey with you. I look forward to many more years of podcasting and growing with you. All My Best, Erica

I had fun creating this episode! It’s unlike any other episode that I’ve ever done here on the podcast. It’s my first time ever being so candid and free without a specific topic or focus. I guess you can say it’s my own version of a mini variety show. Episode 145 is a mix between free style, real talk, candid Q & A, and my thoughts. You’ll hear me talk about: my relationship with my podcast why I’m a big fan of taking breaks and social media sabbaticals the dilemma with my kids and their phone addiction how I helped a co-worker overcome his social media addiction how I manage to do all that I do as a single mom with a full-time career and more. I hope you hear something that resonates and adds value to your life in some way. If you have a question that you’d like me to answer in a future episode like this, please let me know. You can either leave a comment at http://ericablocker.com/145 or email me directly at: Erica@momswithdreams.com. I can’t wait to hear from you. Until next time, reclaim YOUR dream. Do what YOU love and make a difference. Take care, Erica

Like many of us, you’ve probably set big goals that you want to achieve this year. And you probably have good intentions and are really trying to stay focused on making them happen. In this episode, I share what I did that has absolutely been a game changer and is helping me stay focused on my big goals and dreams. It’s a 3-step process that’s simple to do – even for you, a super busy mom. I promise that it won’t take more than a few minutes each day and the time spent will be well worth it. I’m not going to give it all away because I really want you to listen to this episode. I will say that this life-changing process begins by writing your vision down. This may seem obvious, but in this episode, I share some of the science behind the power of writing your vision down on paper. You may be surprised by what you hear. After you’ve listened, I encourage you to get started doing this right away. Remember – if you want something different, you must do something different. I know that you have big dreams and lots of goals that you want to accomplish. I believe in you and I know that you can do it. I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments. Please let me know what you think about this episode over in the show notes at http://ericablocker.com/141. If you’d like to send me a personal note, you can email me at: Erica@momswithdreams.com. I’m here to support you. Let me know if you’d like to talk more about what you can do to create the life of your dreams this year. Until next time, reclaim YOUR dream. Do what YOU love and make a difference. Take care, Erica
In this episode, I’m talking to you about a precious resource – your time – and why you should stop wasting it by waiting. With life being so busy and hectic, it’s easy to tell yourself that you’re going to wait until the time is right to pursue your goals and dreams. I know that it’s not easy, but you must train yourself to become action-oriented even when you don’t feel like doing the work. As you listen, think about what you really want to achieve or accomplish over the next year and write it down. I want you to think about what steps you can take today to move forward in the direction of your 12-month goal. As I share with you in this episode, you don’t have to take giant steps. Each small step will add up to get you to your desired result. Just like you don’t see immediate results from working out, it will take time for you to achieve your big goals. But you can do it when you decide, plan and take consistent action. I talk about the benefits of not waiting and how it impacts your life in the long-term. That thing that you’ve been called to do will always be on the horizon until you stop waiting and start creating what you want. I hope that you hear something that inspires you to get going. I’d love to have a conversation with you on this topic. You can comment over at http://ericablocker.com/137 and I’ll be sure to respond. If you’d like support with moving forward, I’d love to help you. Send me an email at Erica@momswithdreams.com and we’ll talk about the next steps. I’ll be back next week with more inspiration and education to keep you empowered on the journey to your dreams. Until next time, Reclaim YOUR dream. Do what YOU love. Make a difference. Take care, Erica
Today I have an incredible wisdom-packed episode for you and, no, that wisdom is not coming from me. That wisdom is coming from four dynamic, super smart, successful women leaders who have created podcasts in the niche of parenting and podcasts for moms. Now wait! If you are not a mom or you are not podcasting about parenting or being a mom that does not mean you should not listen to this episode. You should totally listen because I am not either of those two things and I learned so much from what these women have to share about marketing, niching around purpose, and positioning with their shows, and about something that they pretty much have to be masters of --TIME MANAGEMENT! In this episode, I’m talking to you about the six excuses that I hear moms make all the time when it comes to living their dreams. As moms, we will move mountains and walk across the sea for our children, but we often don’t approach our own desires with such fervor. Why is that? Why do we believe that our children should have what they want, but often do not believe the same for ourselves? Deep down we know that we deserve to live our dreams. Instead of being courageous and figuring out a way to go after what we want, we allow the story that we’ve been telling ourselves and the excuses that we make to hold us back from living our best life. Well after today, you’re going to get rid of your excuses and start working on your dreams. As you listen, I want you to think about which excuses you’ve made (or heard other moms make). Then I want you to think about how your life would look if you removed all your excuses and went for it. How would life look for you in six months, one year, or five years? Would you recognize your own life, or would you literally feel like you were living in a dream? What I want you to get most from this episode is that anything is possible. Whatever your heart desires can be yours. You don’t have to wait for the perfect moment to start – you can start right now, right where you are. I challenge you to start removing your excuses – one at a time – and start taking small steps toward your dreams. I promise you that it’s not as hard as it may seem right now. Everything seems hard before you do it. If you can take one step, you can take two steps. Before you know it, you’ll be at the top, living the life you dreamt of living, doing the things that you thought were once impossible. It’s yours. You simply have to stop making excuses and start doing the work. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. You can leave a comment below the show notes at http://ericablocker.com/134. Until next time, reclaim YOUR dream. Do what YOU love. Make a difference. Take care, Erica
In this solo episode, I’m encouraging you to slow down and enjoy the journey to your dreams. In our fast-paced society, we do a lot of rushing around from one thing to the next, and we’ve developed a mindset that doing things fast is the only way to achieve success. I’m challenging you to change your mind about that. Instead, I want you to give yourself permission to slow down and find a pace that fits your lifestyle. As moms, we have a lot on our plates. We have obligations and responsibilities that take precedence over our wants and desires. And we simply don’t have the luxury of doing everything fast. When we try to do too much too fast, we can start to feel overwhelmed and put ourselves at risk for burnout. As you listen to this episode, I want you to think about the pace at which you’re currently living your life and pursuing your dreams. Are you living in the moment and enjoying your journey, or are you constantly moving at such a fast pace that makes it difficult for you to enjoy it? I share tips to help you slow down and enjoy where you are right now. You don’t have to go fast. You’re not competing with anyone. These are your dreams, and you can set your own pace. If you’re consistent, then you’ll eventually get where you want to go. Do you agree? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Let’s continue this conversation below in the comments section. If you’d like to share a personal comment, you can email me at: Erica@momswithdreams.com. I love hearing from you, and I promise that I will respond. Until next time - Reclaim YOUR dream. Do what YOU love. Make a difference. Take care, Erica
Many of us have big dreams with good intentions. We have a strong desire to live out our dreams but often fall short with taking the action to make them become our reality. What I’ve learned is that when you really want something bad enough, you’ll figure out a way to get it done. I’ve also learned that the “doing” part is often the hardest. For me personally, it’s easy to get started on something new, but it’s much harder for me to see it through to completion. In episode 125, I share six tips to help you to go from being a dreamer to a doer. Living your dreams requires work on your part, and you can’t skip any of the work if you want the results. I’m not going to give away any of my tips here because I want you to listen and take notes. If you’re unable to take physical notes while listening (as you may be driving or working out), then I want you to take mental note. Then choose at least one tip that you’ll put into action now, so you can become a doer and experience the life of your dreams. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic and hear about your big takeaways from this episode. You can leave a comment over at http://ericablocker.com/125 or email me directly at Erica@momswithdreams.com. Thanks for listening and being a part of my extended family. If you haven’t already subscribed to this podcast, you can do that ApplePodcasts, Stitcher and here. Until next time, Reclaim YOUR dream, Do what YOU love and Make a difference.
In this episode, I talk with you about the topic, success is always intentional. Before you can achieve success, you must define it for yourself. At the top of this talk, I offer a general definition of success and encourage you to apply it to your life. I challenge you to define success for yourself and identify what you want to achieve or attain in life. Next, you have to understand that success doesn’t show up overnight, and it requires you to work for it. You have to be intentional with your time and action if you want to achieve something different or go beyond where you are right now. Then I talk about what it means to be intentional. It’s deliberate action. It’s not being haphazard and winging it. I encourage you to not get overwhelmed with the “how” of it all, but instead trust the process. Know that when you set an intention and take action, the how will be revealed with perfect timing. When you are aligned with what God wants you to do, your steps will be ordered. Remember that life will always happen, so be prepared for distractions to pop up. Carve out time to work toward success, and be very protective of your time. Talk with your family about supporting you by helping out with tasks that would normally occupy your time. As you become intentional with success in your life, you’ll learn more about yourself. You’ll accomplish things that used to seem impossible. You’ll discover that you are more than a conqueror and that you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Let’s start a conversation below in the comments. Or you can email me directly at Erica@momswithdreams.com. I love hearing from you, and I look forward to connecting with you. Until next time, Reclaim YOUR dream. Do what YOU love, and make a difference. Erica
