When you start to CLAIM what you want…are there any limiting beliefs that come up for you? What are things that come up that say you can't have it? List them all out one by one. Cross it out and invalidate each one with ideas that feel better and support your dreams and desires. Example: That could never happen for a girl like me. —> There are plenty of people that have come from worse off situations than me and have what I want — so WHY NOT ME. Example: I don't have enough experience or knowledge to have my own successful business — NO ONE is born with knowledge and experience. They learn what they need to learn as they take aligned actions and learn through the doing one step at a time. If they can do it, I can too. Bane is a noun that refers to a cause of great distress or annoyance. The Old English word bana (BAH nah) means ‘death or poison.' In time this word drifted into English with a less lethal meaning. It now simply refers to a source of irritation or frustration. Example: That annoying construction crew next door has become the bane of the neighborhood. How can anybody get any sleep with all that noise?
Whirligig is a noun that refers to a toy that spins around. Our word of the day came from Late Middle English and meant ‘a whipping top.' Although it originally referred to a specific toy, it later was used to describe any kind of toy that spins. Example: That whirligig had my son transfixed all day. I'm sure in time, it'll take much more to capture his attention, but for now, it's fun to see that a simple spinning toy can give him so much joy.
Daphnean is an adjective that means shy or bashful. Taking its name from a beautiful but demure muse, Daphnean has been around since the Late Middle English period to describe anyone who embodies the qualities of this mythical figure. Example: That librarian was awfully Daphnean when I first met her. She was so shy and retiring that after knowing her for three weeks, I still don't know her name.
Dear Songwriter,In this episode, I'm diving into the common songwriter's dilemma: The Second Verse Curse. I understand the frustration of not knowing how to progress the story and feeling like I've poured everything into Verse 1. But here's the truth: Verse 2 struggles often stem from not fully grasping what we've created in Verse 1.To help you break through this creative block, I'll present a seven-step exercise that will provide the clarity you need to never get stuck on Verse 2 again:Step 1: Answer the following question - What's happening in Verse 1?Example: I'm introducing the main character by describing their personality and some physical traits, and make it known that they have entered a new relationship.Step 2: Answer the following question - What do I want to say in the Chorus?Example: That a toxic person may not reveal themselves until much later onStep 3: List out all of the possibilities of where the story could go (include bad ideas, just write everything down):Example:Highlight the "good things" about this relationshipHighlight the ugly things about this relationshipIntroduce the second characterDetail the breakupStep 4: Choose the item from your list that most resonates with you/feels most natural to write about......and then free-write journal to expand on the concept. (it's OK if It sounds "stupid".)Example:Highlight the "good things" about this relationshipAt first we would often go out to eat on the weekends and always seemed to agree on what restaurant we wanted to go to. We would then spend hours at night just talking with each other.Step 5: Take that free-write journaled excerpt, and draft 4-8 lines for your verse.Example:(journaled) At first we would often go out to eat on the weekends and always seemed to agree on what restaurant we wanted to go to. We would then spend hours at night just talking with each other.(draft) Saturday came with food for two // grabbed the same menu each time // the clock turned to one, our mouths on the run // and didn't catch them until the sun's riseStep 6: Reflect on the things you like, and the things you need to work on.Example:(draft) Saturday came with food for two // grabbed the same menu each time // then the clock turned to one, our mouths on the run // and couldn't catch them until the sun's rise(reflection) I like the imagery and metaphor of the last two lines, but there lacks some connection between going from lines two to three, specifically going from describing eating food together, to talking all night togetherStep 7: Redraft Verse 2 based on those notes.Let's walk through it together in today's episode!Mentions and Links:Book Your FREE Just Start Call: https://www.connorfrost.com/call
Cespitose is an adjective that means growing in clumps. Our word of the day comes from the Latin word caespes (KIE ay space) meaning ‘turf' or ‘sod.' Its recently emerging offspring is used to refer to grass or other kinds of plants that grow in clumps. Example: That cespitose grass around the cactus isn't very plentiful here in the desert. As it gets warmer and warmer, those small clumps of grass will become even less common.

Speak English Now Podcast: Learn English | Speak English without grammar.
Hi! I'm Georgiana, your English teacher. Thank you for joining me for another episode. Today you will learn new idioms in English with MONEY. I will teach you some English expressions related to money. And with a point-of-view story, you will learn grammar without memorizing any boring rules. And if you want complete programs with hours of audio designed to develop your fluency, don't think twice. Visit Speakenglishpodcast.com/courses/ There are several levels. Ok! Let's start! Depending on the culture, people talk about money or get really uncomfortable when someone brings up this subject. However, everybody needs money nowadays, so today, we will learn expressions about money because "money makes the world go round." When something "makes the world go round," it is extremely important. But not only money makes the world go round; love also makes the world go round. However, love without money can get really complicated sometimes. Anyway, I'm digressing. Today, I'd like you to learn some English expressions about money. Let's start! #1. Bring Home the Bacon You may be thinking I'm hungry. But although this expression may seem unusual, we use it to talk about money. It means earning money so that a family can get by. Example: "I have to work day and night to support my family. Someone's got to bring home the bacon." #2. Time is Money We use this expression to emphasize that you should use your time wisely because you could use it to earn money. Example: "I've been waiting for the delivery guy all day, but I can't sit around any longer. Time is money." #3. Break the Bank There is no need to break anything. We use this expression to say that something costs too much money. Example: “That coat is way too expensive. It will break the bank!” #4. Quick Buck (Fast Buck) These expressions refer to money earned easily or quickly and, on some occasions, may indicate that someone wants to earn money dishonestly. Example: “You can make a quick buck by selling your coin collection.” #5. Bread and Butter While bread and butter are delicious, we use this expression to indicate someone who depends on their job for a living. Example: “I'm sorry I can't go shopping with you tomorrow. I can't miss work again, or I'll get fired, remember, it's my bread and butter!” #6. Money Talks Obviously, this expression cannot be taken at face value. But it's pretty funny. We use it to talk about wealthy people that can get whatever they want because they have money. Example: "I was convinced that I had a high chance of being elected. However, my opponent has much more money than I do, and, as they say, money talks." #7. Born with a Silver Spoon in your Mouth This expression means to be born to a wealthy family. Therefore, people born with a silver spoon in their mouths get everything they want. Example: “My friend's parents always gave her everything she ever wanted. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. “ [END OF THE EXTRACT] Get the full transcript on my website: SpeakEnglishPodcast.com/podcast

I can't bear to leave you.时间过的好快啊,我真舍不得离开你。I can't bear to see you cry.我真舍不得看见你哭。2.not have the heart (to do sth.)不忍心(做某事)Example:That's why I didn't have the heart to destroy them.这也是我不忍心摧毁他们的原因。She doesn't have the heart to tell him what had happened to it.她不忍心告诉他发生了什么。3.hate to do sth.“舍不得”其实就是“讨厌/不情愿做某事”,hate to do 可以部分承载这样的含义。hate to part with...讨厌跟…分别Example:I hate to part with you.真舍不得跟你们分别。I hate to leave this place.我舍不得离开这个地方。
You may feel like you have to endure someone else's negativity because it's the 'nice' thing to do, but you don't. You need to know how to respond & protect yourself from negativity so it doesn't also become a problem for you, too.Show Notes:It's those moments when we feel like we are being suffocated by someone else's negativity that we wish we could do something about it. And we can. But it has nothing to do with the other person & all about what you can do. I know that making the decision to walk away, distance yourself & retreat from negativity is easy, it's just the actual action of it that's difficult. Actually telling the person (when you need to) that you don't want to be around negative attitudes can be really scary because you don't know how they are going to react. It's also difficult if you're a people pleaser because all you want to do is make the other person happy & disregard your own feelings. But if you're an empath, it's SUPER important to distance yourself from this type of behavior. It's not going to be good for you to absorb all that negativity & put yourself in a mood, too. Not only because it won't be fun to experience, but it will also get in the way of you being able to help that person get out of their funk, if that's important to you.I feel like a lot of times, people pleaser or not, we feel like we have to just suck it up & endure negative people. And sometimes we do if we are in a situation where there is no exit strategy, but I'd say there is usually a way to get some distance so you aren't so clouded with someone else's negativity.Today I am going to share with you 5 Ways on How to Distance & Protect Yourself from Negative People:Start with an Empathetic Reply (Instead of drawing out the conversation more about whatever they are being negative about, use a response that will help shut down the conversation. “Sorry to hear that,” “Is there anything I can do?” “That's really too bad.”Tactfully Change the Subject (Start with your empathetic reply, then take a quick turn to a new topic. Example: “That's really tough. Have you heard anything about blah blah blah?/What was the best part of your day?” Ideally, you would bring up something super positive or just very different than what they were talking about.)Ask If You Can Suggest Something Positive for Them to Try (Don't just give them a classic encouragement line, it has to be something more involved. It would need to be something that can keep their mind off their troubles long enough to either forget about it or when they do circle back to their problems you can remind them of the positive thing that just kept their mind occupied & suggest they keep doing that.)Don't Try to Solve Their Problems (They might ask you for your advice, which is fine, but you have to understand that if you DO give your advice, you are inviting yourself deeper into the problem.)Take Your Exit (This can be scary the first time you do it, but just embrace your desire to not be around negativity & it will seem easier.)Thank you again for listening & I hope this episode was helpful.Come visit me on my Instagram page @sabrinajoyperozzo.Have any questions, comments or feedback? https://youtu.be/EnxaqjnS80A Sweet Aroma: Pastor Appreciation Day 2021 (2 Cor. 2:14-17) *All verses in NKJV* (Talk about Matt and Crystal) - A little more than 18 yrs ago, I was there when Pastor Matt and Pastor Crystal planted FVC. - I've seen it grow from just a few people in an elementary School, to where we are today. - Working 2 jobs, raising kids, full time ministers… making many sacrifices along the way. - They have had other opportunities. Example: Larger church that offered him a job, meaning he would have to close FVC. But he didn't take it, because God called him to lead us! And he obeyed. - Their hearts are not focused on what they can get from God, but how they can serve him better. - Praise God that they obeyed the Lord, because I have seen it change countless lives here, as they share the unadulterated gospel with anyone who will listen. - They have made FVC a treasure, and because of that, they have become a treasure to us. - Example: I don't know where I would be without them. They are encouragers, steadfast, loyal, and an example for all of us to follow… - They are a treasure to us because they have made it a priority to preach the whole truth and council of God. People need to hear the hard truth, not to be placated. Above all, that has become a sweet aroma to us who are saved, and a stern warning to those who are not. - It is the smell of death to those who have chosen to live a life of sin, and that has often created friction, which they have gladly endured for the cause of Christ. - This leads me into today's scripture… 2 Cor. 2:14-17, Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God. 1. Jesus uses us to spread his word. - Paul is creating a word picture here that is about more than what smells good or bad. The concept is one of victory or defeat. - In Rome, when a General returned from winning in battle, they would hold a victory parade, or a “Triumph march” to celebrate his victory over the enemy. - This would involve a long processional through large crowds lining the city streets including chariots, soldiers, the spoils of war, and the enemy captives taken during battle. The route would be lined with burning incense that would permeate through the whole city. - 2 Cor. 2:14 (NLT), But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume. - Paul uses a word picture of Christ being the victorious leader, and we are in his triumph march. We are his servants, led by him, with the goal of spreading the gospel everywhere. - It is amazing how the word of God can change a life. You can't expect people to just figure it out. - Example: That's why Pastor Matt preaches the way he does. You can't dance around the truth and try to be PC, and hope someone catches it. You have to be straight forward and honest. - Romans 10:14-15, How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” - It is great to serve and love people, but it is important for them to know why you are serving and loving them.

Seedbed is a noun that refers to a place of development. A combination of two common English words, seedbed, when used literally, refers to a bed of soil in which seedlings are grown. When used metaphorically, it can refer to any place of development. Example: That university I attended became a seedbed of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs. There were so many great minds developed there that it came to be known as Billionaire U.
