It all started on August 23rd 1980, in the small town of Bellville, Texas. Sixteen year old Cheryl Dee Ferguson woke up that morning and was in a rush for the first tournament of the season. The volleyball team in which she was a part of had to ride the 60 mile bus ride to Conroe, Texas. The girls were excited – until Cheryl disappeared and the game was canceled. She was eventually found in the auditorium – naked and lifeless. Unfortunately, this is not the only tragedy that came from this story. The corrupt and racist investigators that investigated this crime had their eyes set on one person, and one person only: the African American high school janitor, Clarence Brandley. This story is not just about the murder of an innocent teenager, but also about an innocent man who sat on death row for 10 years for a crime he did not commit. This is the story of Cheryl Ferguson and the Wrongful Conviction of Clarence Brandley, and you are listening to Murder in America. - Find your inner detective and download June's Journey, available on Android and iOS mobile devices, as well as on PC through Facebook Games! - Get a 4-week trial, free postage, and a digital scale at https://www.stamps.com/mia. Richard sees his RV as a “forcing factor” -- something that gets him and his family away from home on the weekends in order to make memories. That's just one example of how he's intentional about his planning and the hours in his day. Today, he's sitting down with Jeff to talk through all the other ways his intentional planning has given him everything he wants. Richard Ferguson comes from a background of entrepreneurship, insurance, and fitness, much like Jeff. He's well versed in planning around owning multiple businesses, scheduling for four young kids, and still finding time for himself. He's here today with Jeff to talk about his insurance agency, his mindset, his podcast, and how he channels his time. On this episode of The Tactical Empire, Jeff. He's worked hard to achieve this, and he's here with Jeff today to share how. Tune it to hear his two cents on planning, saying “no,” and finding alternative methods for a conventional life. What You'll Learn: How to make travel plans, and how those goals will give you new freedom Why a traditional college track might not be the way to go; and why a trade school or other unconventional method could get you where you want to be. In 1980, a sixteen year old white girl named Cheryl Dee Fergeson was raped and murdered in a high school auditorium in Conroe, Texas. Suspicion immediately fell on the only black janitor, though three other white janitors were present. A Texas Ranger looked Clarence Brandley in the face and said “One of you is gonna hang for this. Since you’re the ni**er, you’re elected”. What followed was more than just a miscarriage of justice. The police, prosecutor and three judges colluded to frame Clarence Brandley with nothing but pure racism in their hearts.
