What an important message to send out!Christine Newsome shares with us her experience with Breast Implant Illness. For Christine, her journey through this illness was hard.  She said that she felt so alone, because they could not diagnose it, and the doctors were not supportive, nor were many family members and friends.Disbelief.Christine had saline implants.  She said when she finally found a doctor who listened and had her remove the implants, the doctor advised Christine that her whole body was inflamed.Facebook, Christine explained, has a group.  At the time she joined there were about 40K members.  Now there are over 150K.  It was through this group that she realized she was NOT alone.Christine explained that it took her two years to fully recover.  She said she was losing all her bodily functions.  Once the implants were removed, the body did start to heal, but it was not overnight.Interestingly enough, she also explained that it wasn't simply removing the implants, it was also removing it "enbloc", which means removing the scar capsule with the implant. This experience inspired Christine to start her business Brave Woman Life Coaching.Fascinating subject, and we truly thank Christine for sharing this story! You can find Christine at www.bravewomanlifecoaching.comMore about Christine:Christine Newsome is the owner and founder of Brave Woman Life Coaching.  She has been serving the healthcare and wellness industry for over 20 years.  She is a professional coach and mentor coach, an energy healer, and a registered dental hygienist.  Christine had a huge wake-up call when she became very ill with her breast implants a few years ago.  She almost lost her life and that was a sign from the universe saying it was time for a new life's journey. What are your thoughts on booth rental? For many employees renting a booth or room is the dream. You're tired of being paid commission or hourly and renting a room from a salon owner means you get to be your own boss. I know many of you listening to this podcast hope to one day have your own space and most likely you'll start renting a room from someone else. Booth rental for employers can be a nightmare...if you run a team-based salon (commission, hourly, team-base pay) then you probably hate booth rentals and feel like they are your biggest enemy (along with salon suites). So for one group the words "booth rental" brings joy and for another group it brings dread. With that said, we sit down with Christine Petrun of Eyelandlash and talk about what it's been like since her salon switched to booth rental. For Christine, it's been a wonderful experience and she shares how it's been for her this last year. We also go into the benefits of Groupon which I know many of you don't think the words "benefit" and "Groupon" should go in the same sentence. Hopefully, when you are done with this episode, you'll have a more open mind towards discount sites like Groupon. We think the world of Christine and we think you will too when this episode is over. Episode 121, Of Caterpillars and Butterflies, In the chrysalis as we transform from producing to creating This episode was inspired by the divine flow of this moment. As the guest originally scheduled cancelled, Christine moved with the flow and timing of honouring the guest’s sacred self care, and let go of even producing an episode this week, when a social media post from a beautiful being, Samantha Warren (her info and links in the show notes) caught her attention. Samantha shared her own revelations about timing and honouring the flow that is our own deep knowing. The kind of knowing that comes from the heart space and is not in sync with the pace of the old world. Christine emphasized, we are not production beings, we are creator beings. As we shift into that new way we need as Samantha said, more time in the chrysalis to be, “…here in this present moment while my transformation completes itself.” For Christine, the image of the caterpillar, cocoon, chrysalis and butterfly brought back the memory of a beautiful message she received in 2018 from Mother Ocean. That message was; Christine, first of all, the butterfly isn't better than the caterpillar. It's simply about timing and resonance. The caterpillar has a certain timing. She does all the things a caterpillar needs to do, with love, joy and reverence for all that is around her. Then there is a moment, when she begins to feel—first, in her body, then in her heart that it is uncomfortable to stay as she has been. It is even more uncomfortable when she literally splits herself inside out to become the cocoon. Once she is within the darkness of the cocoon she begins to receive the codes* she needs—through the sacred vessel of her own body. Waiting in the darkness, she doesn't know yet what she is becoming, but she knows it will be a new way of being. This is what is happening all around you now. You on Earth are in a metaphorical cocoon. Your bodies know it, and your soul knows it. You are opening, if you choose, to become something brand new. Someone that needs to express at a completely different frequency than you have before. Someone who needs to spread your wings in a new way in this world—with more of who you already are—being brought into expression. (*I found out later that these codes are actually called, "imaginal cells." These cells "resonate at a different frequency" than any of the original cells in the caterpillars body.) The invitation of this episode is to allow yourself to tune into how you are moving through these transitions in this now moment. Asking yourself, how can I deepen into amplifying my own sacred self care. https://awakenedwomanselfcare.com/podcasts/

Resources I Am Diosa: A Journey to Healing Deep, Loving Yourself and Coming Back Home to Soul by Christine Gutierrez Christine Gutierrez's website Christine Gutierrez's Instagram page   Episode Highlights Christine's Spiritual Journey Ever since Christine was young, she has always had a deep desire to connect to human suffering, help others who are struggling and make a difference in people's lives. This passion led her to study psychology, philosophy, and mental health counseling. Christine merges her modern therapeutic training with her spiritual path. On I Am Diosa Working with Diosa, the goddess's energy enabled Christine to realize that God has a feminine face. The concept of Diosa empowered and helped Christine reclaim her true self. For Christine, sharing is the calling of all healers. She was worried that many people might not know what I Am Diosa But choosing and standing up for it as the title of her book, no matter what others might say, gives her a sense of cultural confidence. What’s Wrong with Overemphasizing Positivity The overemphasis towards keeping a positive attitude all the time is dismissive of the emotions and experiences of those who suffered intense trauma and abuse. It creates a shallow healing process, unrealistic goals, and often discredits and minimizes the feelings and ownership of people's struggles. It's vital to validate different spectrums of emotions and provide spaces to feel it. Overemphasis on positivity can affect your daily life by preventing you from experiencing your full range of emotions. Advice for Struggling Women Owning your experiences and that you are a victim of someone else's dysfunction can be liberating. "Just don't be a victim" advice is a very condescending way to approach people who experienced intense hardships and trauma. Christine offers a different energetic tone by stating that you don't have to remain stuck in your past. It is your duty to yourself to create a life of happiness despite your past because you're deserving and worthy of it. The Importance of Kindness to Yourself Christine is not a happy person all the time - she is often reflective and emotional. It's essential to accept who you are, the life you're given, love, and be kind to yourself and your experiences. Combine therapy with outside support and deep soul work to manage your emotions better. Expecting perfection will be harmful in the long run. Healing requires continuous nurturing of enjoying life. It is not a simple before and after scenario. Healing will involve mistakes and relapses – this is normal. Working with Women of Color Christine's I Am Diosa retreats give women space to share their feelings and situations freely. Also, to try, fail, and get back up again in their healing journey without judgment. The 'medicine' for happiness is within all people. Most of her clients are strong and wise women that were too busy to process their emotions and traumas. Christine's role is to hold and remind them that they're all in this together. Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic Being a newly-married couple, Christine and her husband find it hard at first to pivot their routine amid the ongoing pandemic. Allow yourself to accept that these are crazy times and that you're not alone in this journey. Mental health support has to be accessible to all people during and after the pandemic. Find available resources to help you cope with overwhelming emotions. Christine aims to create a global space for people to connect spiritually through the digital medium. Ways to Cultivate Healthy Love Love, warmth, and touch are essential tools in reminding clients of their worthiness and power. Become aware of the unhealthy places in your life. Look for the things you can do if you're in a healthy space. Set your non-negotiables. Listen to the full episode to hear specific examples of how to cultivate healthy love in your life. 5 Powerful Quotes from This Episode [04:13] “Working with the goddess, working with Diosa, for me was a moment of realizing that there was a divine face of God. That there was a feminine divine face.” [06:06] “It was a coming to of my own cultural confidence of being like, it doesn't matter what anyone says, this is my work. And this is going to resonate with who it's meant to resonate with.” [08:53] “There is no bad or good emotion. There are more difficult emotions to process, of course, and it's about giving ourselves the space to say, ‘Hey, I'm feeling bad. I'm having a shitty day.’” [17:52] “This is not a simple before and after, right? I'm a living, breathing woman with a sea of emotions, right? I rise and fall like the tide. So therefore that means that I'm allowing myself to constantly look at the places where I can deepen both my healing and my joy.” [26:02] “I think one of the biggest pieces that we can give ourselves is allowing ourselves to accept and acknowledge that these are some crazy times and that you're not alone.” About Christine Christine Gutierrez is a licensed therapist, self-esteem coach, and inspirational speaker. Highlights:  [7:50] Getting into the hustle mindset [24:55] Are your emotions ruining your relationship with money? [43:31] Your ultimate asset for building wealth?   Meet Christine Teh:  Christine is a personal finance and money coach who helps transform people’s relationship with money so they can achieve their financial goals.   Born and raised in the Philippines, she and her parents immigrated to the US in 2000 just as she was in her last year of college.   She worked 60 hours a week and went to school at night eventually earning her degree in computer science…    She got a good job and started working a traditional 9-5. Sounds like the American dream… right? Well, that depends…    For Christine, that life didn’t lead to happiness or fulfillment. So in 2016 she started working on her dream and in May of 2019 she quit her corporate job and went full time in her own business.   Just a few years later she has a thriving financial coaching practice, over 65,000 followers on linked in and is on a mission to help EVERYONE achieve financial freedom.   What I love about Christine is how she doesn’t wait for life to come to her, but rather she decides what she wants and she then figures out how to make it happen.   Her journey is full of lessons we can all learn from. And she is a beautiful example of someone who has created a life they truly love.   Connect with Christine:  LinkedIn personal page - https://www.linkedin.com/in/tehfinancialcoaching/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/tehfinancialcoaching/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYvHxeWRq61xYWBiUN2cVvA Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/TehFinancialCoaching/ Website: https://www.tehfinancialcoaching.com/about.html   ...   Want more InJoy? They say there is no greater loss than the one of a child. The wound it leaves behind is visceral, the scar never fades. It simply changes shape and one gets better at covering it up.For Christine, she had twenty-one years to come to terms with the impending death of her son, Nicholas. To speak of him now, twelve years on, is somewhat of a relief; almost like taking off the bandage and giving the skin fresh air. Sunlight. A chance to breathe. When Nicholas ultimately passed away from Muscular Dystrophy, Jonathan lost a brother. A friend. And a love no amount of time can replace. Instead he has taken that love and projected it into the world in a way that belies the pain of Nick’s death.Because although there is fondness in their memories of him, and although their outlook on life after Nick is one of positivity, there is no denying the raw emotion of grief in losing him.Christine and Jonathan graciously welcomed us into their home and peeled back the layers of life and loss congealed into the walls. They were candid in their experience, and they were frank in the necessity to grieve- and celebrate the life- together.

Author of the novel The Means That Make Us Strangers, Christine Kindberg joins Chelsea 6:30 minutes in to talk about the upside of singleness because, believe it or not, there is one. The catch is, the upside is a mindset that has to be cultivated and a trajectory that has to be pursued. For Christine, this pursuit began in her early twenties when she realized she didn't want to be in a holding pattern where she was sitting on her hands and just waiting for a partner to come along for life to begin. What she needed to do instead, she discovered, was find significant things to invest in that were independent of whether a romantic partner was in her life or not. Fast forward, and Christine has now found herself humoring her married friends when recounting a string of crazy and horrendous first dates, running marathons and taking flight to places like Chile for 2 1/2 months to research her next great novel—a passion and purpose that she may not have prioritized had she been tethered to an ill-fitting partner whose own direction she was agreeing to. Gems to look out for:+ how a fiction writer explores their own life questions through their characters+ how married friends can shine a light on the lies we easily buy into as single people, like the classic tale of, if-only I was in a relationship, I wouldn't feel this way+ loneliness doesn't necessarily mean you're in the wrong relationship+ the benefit of evaluating your feelings from a wider context rather than holding on to them as truth tellers+ the tendency to address discomfort within romantic relationships and let it it slide within friendships+ how to elevate yourself from the comparison culture + the people whose life you want, want elements of your life too+ how our friend's romantic relationships can trigger FOMO+ the fear of being left behind by friends as they marry and advance through life stages at a different rate as us+ how can you honor your singleness before it's too late+ filling the gap of free time that a significant other once filled with something that is life giving like by running or writing+ how can you redirect your energy off a person and onto becoming more of your own person+ one of the hardest questions that awaits us as we cross over into the single territory: "what do I do with myself now that I am no one else's?"+ the positive aspects of being "tied down" or in a committed relationship is that someone is limiting your life and therein providing direction—how can this help or harm you?+ the challenge and yet life-long fulfillment of being single and discovering your own direction+ how choosiness and dating more wisely is a natural consequence to developing a sense of self and direction+ the temptation to date someone may often be tied up in the desperation to use the them to fill the hole of singleness+ if a relationship doesn't lead to anything long lasting, how can we make it still worthwhile?__To connect with Christine, visit her:Website: https://www.christinekindberg.comPurchase her novel, The Means That Make Us Strangers, on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Means-That-Make-Us-Strangers/dp/1797761358/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/Christine.Kindberg/Facebook: http://facebook.com/Christine.Kindberg.AuthorTwitter: https://twitter.com/christinekndbrg__Work with Chelsea: www.breakupward.com/shopChelsea’s website: www.breakupward.comSign up for Chelsea’s newsletter: bit.ly/tyhbletterInstagram: www.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakConnect and send in your questions and/or letters viawww.instagram.com/thankyouheartbreakOr by email: Chelsea@breakupward.com
