Send us a text In this sermon, Rod Hugan reflects on Esther 5–6, focusing on the contrast between Haman's pride and Mordecai's quiet humility. Through storytelling, personal reflection, and biblical insight, Rod explores how pride distorts our view of honor and how true humility allows us to return to the gates—to serve, to wait, and to trust God's quiet work in the shadows. A thoughtful invitation to examine whose approval we seek and what kind of character we're cultivating. Sermon NotesSupport the showThe Village Church's sermon podcast is more than just a weekly message. It is an invitation into the great and ongoing story of God's work in the world. Each episode is a call—not merely to listen, but to take part, to step forward into the life of faith with renewed vision and purpose. Week by week, the pastors and leaders explore the deep rhythms of Christian discipleship—prayer, fasting, generosity—not as isolated duties but as part of a larger, richer, and more beautiful whole. TakeawaysThe episode delves into the comparison between single-family and multifamily (syndication) real estate investments, highlighting that it's not a binary choice but one that depends on timing and personal preferences. It encourages investors to understand the wealth pyramid framework and the importance of creating value and productivity as foundational steps. There are various stages of wealth building using the producer framework, which include pre-launch (acquiring skills), launch (taking action), gravity (implementing systems for cash flow), and orbit (achieving passive income). The discussion emphasizes the significance of timing in choosing between single-family and multifamily investments.A comprehensive list of pros and cons for both single-family and syndication investments is explored. Single-family investments are praised for maximizing all four pillars and offering a higher learning curve, while syndications are noted for allowing fast capital deployment with less hands-on involvement. The wealth pyramid framework is introduced as a tool for understanding the hierarchy of financial strategies, from production and insurance to investment real estate and syndications. The episode challenges traditional financial planning by suggesting a more personalized approach to building wealth.00:00 - Wealth Building Strategy Comparison11:18 - Wealth Building Stages Framework22:47 - Syndication Investment Strategy Comparison28:47 - Investment Strategy About Jimmy VreelandJimmy graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, spent 5 years as an Army Ranger, and deployed three times twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. Send us a textIn this episode of the Village Church podcast, Pastor Mark carries us further into the Eastertide series, guiding us into the rising storm of Esther chapter 3. The story tightens. What once seemed like palace intrigue now begins to expose something far more urgent, far more familiar—the clash between pride and faithfulness, fear and courage, self-preservation and quiet trust. Here, Mark introduces us to two unforgettable figures: Mordecai, the man of conviction, whose refusal to bow sparks the fury of empire; and Haman, the embodiment of ego, whose power is as fragile as his pride is inflated. The story doesn't resolve quickly, nor does it offer easy answers. Instead, Pastor Mark invites us to remain with the tension—to recognize that this is the world we live in. A world where injustice often goes unchecked, where the faithful are misunderstood, and where God's hand is hidden—but never absent.Support the showThe Village Church's sermon podcast is more than just a weekly message. Throwbacks are where I re-release old episodes from the archives. So don't worry if you have heard it already, as 'New episodes' will continue to come out on Sundays. To get some of the old episodes heard.~~~Our Special guest today is Alan Godfrey, a retired police constable of the West Yorkshire Metropolitan Police Force in the UK. While on duty on the morning of 28th November 1980 he had been investigating a case of a missing herd of cows, from his police car he saw a bright light in the road ahead that he describes as a hovering, rotating object. Missing time and an attempted cover-up by the MOD and his superiors impacted both Alan's personal and professional life.A few months before his UFO encounter, Alan was involved in a mysterious case. In the afternoon of the 11th of June 1980 a dead body was found that was later identified as Zigmund Adamski, he had been missing for 5 days and lived in a village at a distance of about 30 km from the site. Alan was called in to investigate the case. The body was lying on its back on the top of a high coal heap, dressed by someone else as the jacket had been fastened unevenly, the shirt was missing, and the shoes had not been tied properly. Also, there were no trails that could explain how the body got there. It was as if the body had been dropped from above.Alan Godfrey Website:https://www.alangodfreyufo.comMore information on this episode on the podcast website:https://ufochroniclespodcast.com/ep-26-alan-godfrey-who-or-what-were-they/Want to share your encounter on the show?Email: UFOChronicles@gmail.comOr Fill out Guest Form:https://forms.gle/uGQ8PTVRkcjy4nxS7Podcast Merchandise:https://www.teepublic.com/user/ufo-chronicles-podcastHelp Support UFO CHRONICLES by becoming a Patron:https://patreon.com/UFOChroniclespodcastX: https://twitter.com/UFOchronpodcastThank you for listening!Like share and subscribe it really helps me when people share the show on social media, it means we can reach more people and more witnesses and without your amazing support, it wouldn't be possible.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/ufo-chronicles-podcast--3395068/support.

Send us a text In this episode of the Village Church sermon podcast, Pastor Eric opens our Eastertide journey with the story of Esther—a story often tucked between grander tales, yet brimming with quiet, unsettling brilliance. From the start, he reminds us that Esther was written not as a fairy tale of triumph but as a mirror held up to those living in exile. This isn't a tale of fire from heaven or seas splitting open. No—this is a story for those who feel the silence of God, who wait in the shadows, and who wonder whether faithfulness still matters when God seems to be hiding. Esther whispers what we often forget: deliverance may come not in spectacle, but in subtlety. Not with fanfare, but with faith. She clarifies the differences between short-lived perennials, biennials, annuals, and perennials. Send us a textIn this Village Church Easter sermon podcast, Pastor Eric Cepin presents a profound comparison—one that invites you to reflect not just theologically, but existentially. He traces two archetypal roads. The first is the road out of Eden. It's the path humanity took after the catastrophic realization of good and evil. Eyes opened, yes—but not to clarity. To fear. To shame. To isolation. It's a road we all walk when we choose knowledge without wisdom, when we grasp for autonomy and end up fractured, hiding from the very presence that gave us life. Then, there's the road to Emmaus. Two individuals, disoriented and disillusioned, walk away from Jerusalem—the city whose name literally means peace. They're not just leaving a place; they're abandoning hope. But something unexpected happens. Christ meets them. He doesn't overwhelm. He walks. He teaches. And in the breaking of the bread, their eyes are opened—not like Eden's painful awakening, but an awakening into recognition, into meaning, into communion. They turn around. They go back to Jerusalem. Back to peace. Back, metaphorically, to Eden—not the paradise lost, but the paradise reimagined, restored through resurrection. This isn't just about history. It's about every one of us. Which road are you on? And more importantly—who's walking it with you?Support the showThe Village Church's sermon podcast is more than just a weekly message. They unpack these ancient practices in light of Jesus himself, the one in whom heaven and earth have come together. But they also turn their attention to the realities of everyday life—relationships, finances, the struggles and joys of being human—demonstrating how the gospel is not merely about what we believe but about how we live as God's renewed people in the present age. TakeawaysBeginners should not concentrate solely on immediate cash flow in real estate investing. Instead, it's important to have a strong active income source first to effectively leverage real estate for addressing issues like leverage, taxes, and inflation.Real estate should be viewed as a long-term investment. The benefits of asset appreciation and strategic wealth-building are highlighted as being more significant than quick cash flow, especially for those with substantial active income.Strategies like cash-out refinancing are discussed as effective ways to build wealth over time. The episode explains how properties can appreciate in value while tenants pay down the mortgage, allowing investors to access equity tax-free.The importance of adopting a strategic rather than simplistic approach to real estate investing is underscored. One of the most overlooked challenges after treatment? The loss of community. Teens and young adults often return home (or head off to college) and suddenly find themselves without the peer support they had in treatment, even though that kind of support, being seen and understood by someone who's been through it too, can be one of the most powerful parts of the healing process.“Especially for young people, the need to belong is so important” - Ciara FanloYour child may be craving a sense of normalcy, wanting to reconnect with friends and blend back in. But likely, they've changed and might not connect with their old friends as much anymore. Or they feel misunderstood because the people around them don't understand what they've just been through. That longing for connection can be powerful, and without supportive peers who know what it's like to be in treatment, your teen may feel isolated, or misunderstood. In this episode, Ciara Fanlo joins me to talk about what happens when that community disappears and how we can help our teens build it again. We explore how to support your child in finding a new kind of community, one that reflects who they are now, post-treatment. Because no matter how much love you offer as a parent, having peers who truly get it makes all the difference. In this episode on peer support after treatment, we cover:Why peer connection is crucial for teens after treatment; What your child may be feeling as they transition home or to a new environment; The disconnect teens often experience when trying to rejoin old friend groups; How to help your child find community without pushing or panicking; Why shared understanding and belonging are key to maintaining change; And more.Looking for support?

TakeawaysReal estate offers unique depreciation benefits. The IRS allows real estate to be depreciated on paper, which can offset taxable income, creating significant tax savings over time.Investors are advised to balance their pursuit of tax savings with maintaining liquidity.
