Matthew 6:1-4
In this challenging continuation of our series on the Gospel of Matthew, Pastor Karl unpacks Matthew 6, where Jesus lays out His expectations for true disciples in the Sermon on the Mount.Building on the heart-revealing demands of chapter 5, Jesus shifts the focus from mere external obedience to the hidden motives behind our spiritual lives. He addresses three key disciplines—giving, praying, and fasting—assuming His followers already practice them regularly, not for human applause but as genuine devotion to God.With piercing clarity, Jesus warns against hypocritical “performance” that craves the praise of people, declaring that such motives forfeit any reward from the Father. Instead, He calls disciples to secret, sincere acts of worship done unto God alone, promising that the Father who sees in secret will reward what is hidden from human eyes.Pastor Karl highlights the revolutionary big idea: Jesus calls us from performance in the presence of people to authentic presence with God. He then explores the Lord's model prayer as a pattern of adoration, submission, dependence, confession, and protection—emphasizing especially the vital link between receiving God's forgiveness and extending it to others. The message culminates in Jesus' stark command not to store up earthly treasures that moth, rust, and thieves destroy, but to invest generously in heavenly treasures that last forever. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also—revealing that generosity isn't primarily about raising money for God's kingdom, but about God raising children who trust and resemble their generous Father.A convicting yet grace-filled call to examine our motives, reorder our loves, and realign our lives as authentic disciples of Jesus—moving from religious show to wholehearted devotion that finds its reward in God Himself.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

We hear a lot about eternal rewards in Christian circles, but what does it actually mean to “store up treasures in Heaven”? Is it about snagging a bigger mansion or stacking up crowns, like a heavenly bling collection?Jesus isn't offering a Righteous Rewards Program in Matthew 6 – He's inviting us to shift our focus from the earthly to the eternal perspective. (Remember: Treasures are discovered, not earned!) The Apostle Paul echoes this call, urging us to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things.Forget about earning status or collecting extra rewards. In this video, I unpack the ultimate treasure Jesus is referencing, including the spiritual riches we possess right now. The guys are back to discuss some listener questions on the Awe of God. Have you ever wondered about heaven, and what happens to us when we die? This episode is an opportunity for the guys to have a discussion about it for everyone to hear. Disclaimer: we tried as much as possible to do research as discuss from an informed position, but by no means are we exhaustive and fully definitive on what it is. But the season we are in is about chewing on the meat, and we do a lot of that in this episode. I am Just Joe No Title, by the guidance and direction of the Holy Ghost, preaching that God's Christians have many rewards waiting for them in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Those who would obtain the kingdom must give up all other treasures. Now be careful here, lest we mistakenly assume that Jesus describes what we must do to earn the kingdom. It is not bought but experienced by giving up everything else. We do not earn heaven by selling all else but receive the reward when we do so. Jesus is not asking what you are willing to lose to get the kingdom; he asks how we value what we gain. Do we treasure Christ?

In the Parable of the Shrewd Manager, Jesus tells the story of a shrewd manager who appears to be stealing from his business owner. The manager cuts the debt owed to his master by 50% and 20%, and collected the money from his business dealings. Instead of being rebuked for his actions, he was commended for multiple reasons. In this podcast, we discuss the hardest of Jesus' parables and his interpretation of it. Psalm 18:25-26Luke 16:1-16www.messagetokings.com

Are you ready to die? You don't know the day or time that you will die, but you can prepare now. In this message, Larry Nunnally shares his testimony of being resuscitated after a massive heart attack. We also will learn about the eternal rewards available to followers of Jesus. We are all building an eternal legacy and can receive eternal rewards. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 What determines our eternal rewards?Loving Jesus and His Kingdom through prayer, study, and fellowship. Loving and serving other people. Making disciples of those around us. God wants a BIG family, and we are privileged to help Him build it!2 Timothy 4:7-8 What increases Eternal Rewards?Be obedient to God's word and God's leading. Learn from your leaders and mentors. Don't Quit! What hinders Eternal Rewards?Sin and selfish living will burn up in the fire of judgement. Good ideas that aren't "God" ideas will burn up. Procrastination blocks eternal rewards. Is it too late for me to earn Heavenly rewards?
Ps Peter Morton shares on the link between how we live in this life and the rewards that are promised in heaven.
Jesus has taught there are six evils that interfere with the kingdom (anger, lust, divorce, lying, vengeance, and hatred). Now, Jesus goes inside the believer to demonstrate that good works like giving, praying, and fasting done for the wrong reasons are even more dangerous.
Judgment day will come. Do you know what to expect? Today our guest will explain that for Christians, God's "verdict" isn't about determining salvation, but rewarding faithfulness. Dallas Willard once wrote: "Business is an amazingly effective means of delivering God's love to the world by loving, serving, and providing for one another. God loves the world (John 3:16), and because he does, he has arranged the enterprise and organization of business as a primary moving force to demonstrate this love throughout human history."In this episode, Paul and Matt Wilson talked about what that looks like, and how when business leaders stop chasing profits, they're actually freed up to pursue the treasures of heaven.
