This might be an unpopular opinion: designers should learn how to draw, and it's even more important in the digital age. I have three reasons: ✅ Better communication - using sketch or doodle to communicate is a great way. Architecture designer uses this approach for decades. ✅ Better observation - by learning and practising drawing, you will learn how to observe, which is very helpful for your user research and discovery. ✅ Understanding UI fundamentals - UI trends are changing, but the basic of the basic, e.g. colour palette, composition and perspective, these aren't changed for decades. So, I think a designer should learn drawing. It's a transferable/timeless skill, and it's really fun! But how? Here are a few tips in this one. Check it out! Sorry for this beings few weeks late - technical difficulties. This episode is dedicated to Mr. Chadwick Boseman. Wakanda Forever!Crystal Chesney-Thompson is Derek's better half and an unbelievably gifted and skilled artist. She is currently a director over at Rough Draft Studios in Glendale, Cali. where she is in charge of Netflix's hit, Disenchantment. It's not an easy job, but it sure seems to be a fun one! Crystal tells us what makes her tick, what inspires her, how she met Derek and what hobbies influence her craft. Very much worth the listen to those of us into animation. Also, we mention Scott Robertson's highly recommendable book, How To Draw. Check it out here: https://amzn.to/36uWPu0
