We begin by reminiscing about devastating college basketball injuries, an honest assessment of Nebraska Basketball, the boredom surrounding Husker Football, and his experience with getting hit by a baseball.
This week on the Five Heart Podcast, the format is thrown out the door. That's right, Holgermaniacs, the show you wanted for months is finally happening! The pages of Minnie's notes are OUT! Greg's freestyle approach is in. It's what you think you've wanted but only time will tell if it turns into the prize you think it is. Let's face it...just like Batman at the end of The Dark Knight, Greg is the hero this show deserves, but not the one it needs right now (that would be Minnie, for all of you wondering). But it's the football off-season. We're not yet to Spring Football. The transfer portal is temporarily closed. It's less the off-season and more like the dead period. But Mike Ekeler was officially announced as the Special Teams Coordinator and his salary was revealed. How does it compare to other salaries on the coaching staff? Who needs a bump in pay? Who is overcompensated? Also...Nebraska Men's Basketball. Though I feel like even mentioning them by name casts a shadow over the program. I love Fred Hoiberg and I love this team, but it seems like the more I watch them or care about them, that's when their performance anxiety kicks in. And we don't want that. We'll also cover women's hoops, wrestling, and softball. Baseball starts up this week so there may be something there to discuss. It's all in a wild and whacky show - NO FORMAT - on the Corn Nation YouTube, Facebook, and X. Join us. We insist.
The Five Heart Podcast stars hosts Greg and Minnie and this week we feature special guest @Draft_Brian (Brian Johannes)! We're diving into the exciting world of Nebraska Huskers football as we introduce eight new players joining the team. Brian has analyzed the film on standout offensive linemen Rocco Spindler and Elijah Pritchett, along with Marques Watson-Trent, Andrew Marshall, Dane Key, Dasan McCullough, Jaylen George, and Williams Nwaneri. Greg will also unveil a special segment titled “Rome Wasn't Built in a Day,” exploring how Head Coach Matt Rhule is meticulously laying the foundation for the program's success. Additionally, we'll discuss the impact of our new Special Teams Coach Mike Ekeler on the team's future. Lastly, we'll touch on legendary coach Tom Osborne's recent interview about the challenges facing Division 1 college football, particularly with N.I.L., the transfer portal, and the need for sensible rules. As always Go Big Red!
Join Minnie Hunt for another exciting episode of Monday Night Therapy! This week, Minnie welcomes special guest Todd Wolverton and the two dive into all things Nebraska Football and other Husker Sports. Following Head Coach Matt Rhule's recent press conference, the two discuss the impact of player injuries, with offensive linemen Turner Corcoran, Henry Lutovsky, Teddy Prochazka, and Gunner Gottula all recovering from surgery. We'll also touch on Tyler Knaak's return to the offensive line and the status of receivers Demitrius Bell and Carter Nelson, both still healing from their injuries. With key transfers like Elijah Pritchett from Alabama and Rocco Spindler from Notre Dame joining the team, the duo explores the renewed offensive line. Additionally, they discuss the cancellation of the Football Spring Game and its implications, along with a recap of the men's basketball team's recent victories over Oregon and Illinois. Don't miss out – join the conversation LIVE each Monday night at 8:00pm Central!
The Five Heart Podcast, hosted by Greg and Minnie, featuring Corn Nation's volleyball writer, Beth Merrigan! We'll dive deep into the significant changes sweeping through Nebraska volleyball, including the retirement of legendary coach John Cook, who led the program for 25 remarkable seasons with a stunning 722-103 record and four national titles. Cook's heartfelt farewell includes his emotional statement, "I'm going to miss it." We'll also discuss the exciting news of Dani Busboom Kelly taking over as head coach. A former Husker standout, Busboom Kelly has an impressive track record at Louisville, leading them to national prominence. Plus, stick around for an update on the men's basketball game against Illinois, Nebraska football recruiting developments with the offensive line possibly adding Rocco Spindler and a potential event from the Savannah Bananas to Memorial Stadium! Lastly, we finally have a date for "Spring Game" only don't call it the "spring game". Don't miss this action-packed live stream!
In the latest episode of the Pick Six Podcast, Sam McKewon and Evan Bland break down what is going on with Nebraska basketball's six-game losing streak and the standout Husker football players. The crew opens with Nebraska men's basketball being on a six-game losing streak. What is going on with the team — why aren't the Huskers knocking opponents out early at Pinnacle Bank Arena? Is it surprising and how has the story changed for Nebraska since the streak began? The duo breaks down how each Big Ten school is spending its money on coaches and where Nebraska stacks up against each university. Are coaching salaries going down as college athletics enters into revenue sharing with athletes? They give their standout three high school, transfer and returning players for Nebraska.

On the final Overreaction of the season, Greg and Hoss break down Nebraska's 20-15 win in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl. There were a lot of stories heading into this game and seemingly as many stories coming out of it. Winning the program's first bowl game since 2015 ensures the team's winning season. It sends the sixth-year guys out with a win. And Rahmir Johnson is crowned the game's MVP in front of friends and family in his hometown. The game was very typical Nebraska, a tale of two halves. Nebraska led 13-2 at halftime before taking a 20-2 lead in the third quarter. But Boston College kept clawing and scraping, scoring the game's final thirteen points to make it just a little too interesting. What did Hoss see in this contest? What do we have to build on? What changes need to be made immediately? GBR!
