Nebraska had the home fans nervous through 75% of the game against Maryland, and then their early-season offense showed up, as Rienk Mast reverted to something much closer to his early season form and the Huskers end up winning comfortable again as a big favorite. The Huskers do it again! A weird, kind of bad half, and then they run away with it, beating Northwestern 68-49. But before the good, the guys dissect the unusual turnover-fest, where the Huskers through basically the same amount of interceptions in one 10-minute stretch of basketball as Aaron Rodgers did the entire 2025 NFL season. And while Rienk Mast seemed completely recovered from his illness a week ago against Rutgers, he had a hard time of it today. The guys try to identify how much of that had to do with a minor pregame injury and evaluate their level of concern.But, like beautiful Spring morning, the sun rose in the second half as Nebraska held Northwestern to 15 points over the last 17ish minutes of the game. Well, we all probably figured this moment was coming, but for the fist time, Jack comes into a show in a bad mood (the Michigan game was marginal). But the guys talk it out and identify the reasons Nebraska just didn't look quite like themselves today, not the least of which was the quality of their opponent (who once lost to Nebraska). Whether you attributed to Rienk's post stomach bug offensive lull, the lack of a Pryce second half show, the defense becoming vulnerable to the lob dunk, or Wagler putting on a second half scoring show, every angle is evaluated. After the damage is assessed, the guys arrive at a comforting reality about this loss, given its full context, and what it does and doesn't mean about the future. Plus, a dive into the box score including a surprising comparison between the L against Illinois in Lincoln and the W vs Illinois in Champaign. Welp, for a loss, that was a blast.For the first time this year, Jack and Kaleb convene on the Nebraketball Hour after a loss and try to sort out what in the world they make of a severely shorthanded Nebraska team going on the road against the odds-on favorite to win the national championship and leading nearly wire-to-wire only to run out of gas in the final minutes. As Jack works through his immediate reaction he lands on a multiple choice question about the rest of the season that is either REALLY bad for Michigan or REALLY good for Nebraska.The guys go through the box score and marvel at Nebraska ending up with very pedestrian three point and FG% numbers, they try and describe their pleasant shock and Leo Curtis scoring on some of the best big men in the league, and Cale Jacobsen at times terrorizing the Michigan offense while making huge clutch shots.And then, despite the valiant performance, the small things that went wrong, any one of which could have changed the outcome of the game and led to mass hysteria in the state, from Berke missing a few bunnies to Jamarques not being able to find points in the second half, to a game of questionable calls on both sides that went against Nebraska in crunch time.Finally, a look at what's ahead, and the bizarre feeling that a lot of Husker fans have coming out of this game more confident about this team than they did coming in at 20-0, a preview of the game against Illinois, a check in on the other things happening in the Big Ten, and a deep dive into the outcomes required to be a top 2 seed in March.Pinch yourselves, Husker fans. Jack and Kaleb do that frequently during the show, and they also explained how they both felt very different after a rough first half than they did after Indiana, and why they are coming around to the level of confidence they probably should have in this team. Plus, a deeper look into Pryce's continued unconscious, shooting, but also, his surprisingly dominant day on defense. All that said, the guys discuss whether he was even the MVP of this game, with there being at least three other good options. After a deeper look at the box score and identify the one stat that most encapsulates the complete turnaround of this program, Jack and Kaleb assess the chances of pulling off the biggest win of the season, likely without Frager. And finally, they calibrate their expectations for this huge four game run, including games at Michigan. And with Illinois and Purdue at home, and how many wins would constitute a success, or, keep them treading water from their current spot. And, at long last, Jack lets go of at least a little bit of fatalism with his final update on the NCAA tournament, confidence meter and his seed prediction. Jack and Kaleb start the show immediately wondering about Braden Frager's status after an injury left him in a walking boot, and get some answers live during the show. Jack battles mixed emotions with Nebraska at 19-0 with Frager's status in doubt, but he makes a metamorphosis throughout the show as the Frager news seems to get incrementally better every time that Fred Hoiberg talks. Beyond that, Jack explains what he believes might signal a return to the Nebrasketball team of November, Kaleb psychoanalyzes the athlete's perspective after an injury, and then, the guys get to what went well against Washington. Whether it was a final score that was closer than the game seemed, Sam Hoiberg's driving prowess that seems to continue to level up, Pryce's insane hot streak from three (and his ability to get to the rim), Berke channeling Dennis Rodman, JLaw getting a little pissed off, and, in the end, Nebraska getting their 19th win.
