Three Prayer Themes: Listening • Wisdom • Direction Scripture — John 10:27 (NIV) The day is moving now, and perhaps you have already reached a decision you need to make. There may be voices around you offering advice, opinions and expectations. Sometimes the hardest thing is knowing which voice deserves our attention. So pause with Jesus. He says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” Jesus is not asking us to navigate life alone. He knows us, and He invites us to listen. Lord Jesus, quiet the noise around us. Help us recognise what is wise, true and good. When we are tempted to rush because we feel pressured, give us patience. When we are afraid of making the wrong choice, remind us that You are with us. Teach us to listen before we act and to follow You one faithful step at a time. We pray for Germany, Kenya and Austria. Give wisdom to families, leaders and communities making important decisions. We remember Belgium, Spain and France. Bring clarity to those facing change, uncertainty and difficult choices. Holy Spirit, make our hearts attentive to Jesus. Help us recognise His voice without confusion or fear. Señor Jesús, habla a nuestros corazones. Senhor Jesus, fala aos nossos corações. Panginoong Jesus, pakinggan Ka namin. Lord, yesterday we asked You to help us keep our eyes on Jesus. Today, teach us to listen to Him as well. We do not need every answer at once. We need a willing heart and the courage to follow where Jesus leads. When many voices compete for our attention, let the voice of Jesus become the one we trust. Amen. 22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. People brought all their sick to him 36 and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed. - Matthew 14:22-36 A TALE OF TWO FEASTS John and Jesus are both executed for: Challenging the CORRUPTION and DEBAUCHERY of their POLITICAL LEADERS Questioning the AUTHENTICITY and SINCERITY of their RELIGIOUS LEADERS Peter is HEADSTRONG in his BELIEFS - He alone steps out on faith IN HIS OWN UNDERSTANDING of who God is. Jesus MEETS our WEAKEST FAITH Peter is COURAGEOUS in his FEAR - He alone takes CRITIQUE and CORRECTION. God DISCIPLINES the ones he LOVES. Peter is SAFE in his VULNERABILITY - He alone recognized Jesus’ VOICE, allowing him to PARTICIPATE with UNIQUE EXPERIENCES Jesus RESCUES anyone who is desperate enough to CALL ON HIM Peter is FAITHFUL in his DOUBT - He alone confesses Jesus as KING by embracing a new VISION OF WHAT THE KINGDOM IS. Jesus SAVES us from OUR FAITHLESSNESS IS JESUS GOD? If Jesus is LORD of the LORD OF THE MOLECULES in our BODIES, then he is also LORD of those same MOLECULES in NATURE!
